Lovely food, efficient friendly service. Would definitely go back. The menu is varied and has something for everyone. Definitely try the tapas, you will not be disappointed

Nice food appalling bottomless brunch service. Went here for a leaving do as a party of approximately 15 people. It took ages for them to take our drinks orders and then it took ages for the drinks to come. Not too bothered as were told the brunch started when the first drinks arrived. However after that it was farcical !!! Waiting 20 mins for next drink to come and it was only a glass of Prosecco. Same for the next drinks very very long wait.When we complained we were told they were busy ! I am not a big drinker but even I was fed up with the wait times. £35 per head for long waits for drinks and rude staff won’t be going back the only good thing about it was the food. Save your money and go somewhere where they have enough staff to cater for customers.

Went on a Saturday night so it was very busy- still got served quickly. Bar staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Lovely interior - will definitely be back!

A joint business get together of 12 persons were to a person thoroughly disappointed with the service and food provided on Tuesday night. Firstly it took over 40 minutes for someone to take our order and another 30 minutes for any food to arrive. Whilst waiting for food we had to ask for more drinks even though the restaurant was not busy. The food was the biggest disappointment with all the steaks not cooked as ordered and were cold when arriving to the table. I could add some detail but needless to say the restaurant visit was real let down and future business get togethers will be held elsewhere for sure. I cannot comment on deserts as we couldn`t wait to leave.

Really enjoyed the bottomless brunch, great service from our waiter who kept us topped up throughout and the food was excellent.

Party of 6 adults & 1 child. We were looked after very well by the lovely staff and the tapas dishes we chose were plentiful & tasty. Why only 4 stars overall then? I have an almost pathological hatred of being ripped off over the drinks in British restaurants! £7.10 for 175 ml wine, £3.40 pint of coke, £3 small bottle ginger beer. Anyway we'll probably go back again for the food but avoid the drinks other than water!! Sorry to mention this but otherwise happy.

Took around 45 minutes for our burgers to arrive, when they did they were cold. The fries were hot though. The bar offerers an extensive gin selection, however the 3 we chose were not available. Sat in a booth by the door which was draughty. Staff tried their best to be pleasant but seemed stressed. Won’t be rushing back - but will give it another try.

Firstly let me say the staff couldn’t have been nicer and the place itself was lovely. Quite busy and good atmosphere with mixed ages. The jambalaya and the chicken and chorizo wrap contents tasted exactly the same. I love tapas but was a bit disappointed with the lunch menu choice on the 3 for 12.50 option. Would we go again - probably yes

Loved the bottomless brunch here! I'd recommend the spinach and mushrooms, mojo chicken wings and patatas bravas!

Took very long for drinks to arrive. Got a couple of orders wrong. The Veg option came with chicken. We were group of 10 on Thursday evening, the restaurant was not too busy. Still, service was slow.

Loved it.. great food & the staff are so nice 5 adults & a toddler aged 2 for a 6 o'clock meal. A live singer who was great. Our grandson loved dancing to him singing. We moved closer to the bar afterwards for drinks made to feel welcome.

Went on mother's day with family it was lovely really good food and good atmosphere would definitely recommend

The food was good and the service ok. It was a lunchtime so there were only a few people eating so quiet.

Food was not good in general. Tempura prawns....i hardly found much prawns inside. Gravy on my food was a bit weird - very artificial or maybe something was added to it. Staff is very kind and nice. It was alao very vold we had to ask about turning on the heating. The other strange thing - weird candles in empty alcohol bottles.

On Monday 25th February I reserved a table at Qubana having checked it it was open on their website. They use an automated booking system called Open Table. I received a confirmation from them. On arrial at the restaurant, the lights were on inside but there was a notice on the door telling us that they were closed. A birthday present ruined. To add insult to injury I received another e-mail from Open Table asking me how my dinner was! A system like Open Table is only as good as the information supplied to it by the restaurant itself.

Great food and friendly service

Had a wonderful meal with friends today. Nick our waiter was amazing. Very professional and attentive and patient. The food was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Our girly get together at Qubana was lovely as always. The food, atmosphere and staff were all lovely - especially our waitress Eve who really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I always love a trip to Qubana, but I hate the unisex style toilets with a passion - it is a very awkward arrangement and separate toilets would be so much better!

My friend and I shared 6 tapas and that was just the right amount. Left enough for dessert. Fantastic food and service was great. We sat upstairs which allowed for conversation. Downstairs was buzzing. If I was just going for drinks, I would have stayed Downstairs.

Food was lovely. But the service was really poor. Starters arrived before our drinks, starters were finished before drinks arrived. Then 30 minute wait in between courses. Second drinks took 15 minutes to arrive.

Such good service can’t complain for the price. Loved Faith such good service and entertainment, same at Murat so attentive

!!! FOOD POISONING !!! That was one of the experiences that you can get only and Qubana you should be visited by a HEALT INSPECTOR especially when you serve pork. Pardon my french but i had to go home from work being sick and spend 2 whole days in bathroom. Been there before work to eat as that was my only meal for that day no time etc. cheap food tasteless poor service long waiting for everything when free staff were hanging by the bar chatting laughing and have a good time. Took abt 20 min for 2 basic starters. (They were ok’ish no surprises nothing special.) The qubana burger was a disgrace and humiliation for what you call a chef, the patty was overloaded with cummin (dont get me wrong i like cummin)and completely dry absolutely NO ONE has asked once how is the food (or if we would like some drinks etc.) i had only the chips and top side of the burger bun that was all that was comestibile and safe to eat. When we asked for the bill and try to tell the waitress about my burger she dismissed us when I showed her the burger and the fact i did not ate it just 2 bites as both of us tried the burger she did not listen she looked agitated she mumbled about the manager that did not show up. We had to make our way to reception and ask again twice for the manager which when told about our experience (obviously looking very pissed by the situation and we were kinda mistreated) I was SCOLDED by as i do not know how to eat and i don't have taste at all. (I wonder you talk to all your guests in the same way? Or you just discriminate?) We said that we will not pay for the burger, after all that hustle he have us £10 off the bill. I was not happy. McD above you 🙏🏻 definitely.

Booked a table in the upstairs restaurant, but was moved downstairs on the night due to a group booking. Waited over 40 mins for food and had to chase staff several times. Food was average at best. Waited over 15 mins for bill. Their regular customers suffer due to a one-off large booking. Very poor.

Good quality food, solid service (if a bit impersonal), nice interior and atmosphere. We visited during the 40% off in January, but without the discount it's maybe a little expensive. The menu holds lots of appeal so will probably return again soon.

Excellent food. But decibel level dangerously high. Loud music and consequently loud talking from 100+ people meant the evening was ruined. Illegal from a employee health and safety perspective to work in these conditions. Clearly not affecting profits though!

Great service, young blonde lad- very polite and friendly! Food was great, all came out warm and tasty. Music the whole evening was very good (taylor swift and harry styles 🤭) As a whole, great experience, great food, great atmosphere, would recommend!

What a brilliant restaurant. Stayed a night in Wakefield and Qubana was just up the road from our hotel. Myself and a colleague rocked up on a very busy Tuesday night. Sat at a nice big table near the bar. We were served by a very pleasant waitress, who brought us a couple of drinks from their extensive selection. My mate ordered the lamb chops and said they were magnificent!! I had Ropa Vieje, (I think!), which was served with couscous and it was bloody delicious! As a little Brucie bonus, Tuesdays night is 40% off! So not only was our meal terrific it was very cheap too!

We went to Qubana last night for a meal, it was 40% off in January on weekdays which was a great offer. We ordered breads to share for a starter and then (lots of) tapas which all arrived in a timely manner. Lorraine was our waitress and she was lovely, super polite and friendly! The belly pork starter was our favourite, it just pulled apart and didn’t even need a knife! Lovely meal thank you.

Don’t know what’s happened to this place but the food is shocking .. really disappointed.. and the service is terrible ..

We booked a table for 7pm as we know it can get busy here, especially on a weekend. When we arrived 5 minutes before the hour, our table wasn't ready, understandable as we were early. This wasn’t a huge issue as we got a drink and sat in the bar area, however, we had still not been seated by 7:30. We asked a member of staff how much longer we would be waiting, and conveniently the table was ready straight after asking, with no apology for the delay. There was a live singer which was a nice addition to our experience, however, we were unfortunately seated in the small side room (with around 5 tables) near the entrance, away from the main restaurant and the better atmosphere. We could hear the singer, but would have preferred to be in the main restaurant. We love that this place offers both spanish and cuban tapas as well as other main dish options. To eat, we opted for some tapas dishes so that we could share them. We ordered; the hummus, chorizo lollipops, roja vieja, seabass, verdura jambalaya, belly pork and patatas bravas. The portions were of a good size and nicely presented. Most of the food was really tasty as well, although we did feel that the batter covering the chorizo lollipops was very soggy and quite bland. The hummus definitely needed another slice of bread for the amount of hummus. The roja vieja tasted absolutely amazing, the beef was cooked to perfection with so much flavour, however, this was only served with one small taco, which meant as we were sharing (which is what most people do with tapas) we had to half the taco meaning there was loads of meat for only half a taco. All of the other dishes were up to a great standard. This visit wasn't our first to Qubana and it won't be our last, but we hope that next time we will be in the main restaurant.

Worst meal I’ve had there, in fact the first bad meal.. haddock overcooked, lamb a dried up fat ball. Jambalaya was nice as usual. 80 quid sadly wasted on poor tapas.

Our experience at ICO within Cabana was extremely disappointing. Despite booking months in advance and calling to modify our reservation a week prior, the staff failed to inform us that ICO was closed. Forced to navigate an unfamiliar and pricier Cabana menu, the wait for our food exceeded an hour. To top it off, the burger's burnt bun and the flavorless jerk chicken left a sour taste, making this dining experience far from satisfactory. Communication and service were severely lacking.

Been twice, stunning food but service isn’t very good, both times I haven’t been asked once if I wanted another drink or the bill once the food had arrived.and we had sat with empty plates for around 20-30 minutes.

We went here for Christmas work party and the food was shocking and service was awful. A member of our party slipped on untreated wet floor and hurt themselves. They over charged us on our bill. So please check your bill if you eat here.

Really great night last night! We were a party of 13 and everyone was really happy with their choices! The pork was amazing! Very good service from the staff too . And topped off with some great entertainment from the singer!

Food ok after a long wait for our table eventhough there were spare tables. However it spoilt the experience and birthday celebration.

It's an "okay" restaurant with a good ambience. Service neee to improve, and food definitely could improve.

We went on a Friday night and loved the love music and general atmosphere. The food was great and though they'd just had a big party (which meant a long wait) we were happy to sit and have cocktails, chat and listen to the music until food arrived. The waiter also kindly gave us free cocktails without us mentioning anything which is always nice! Food was really great when it arrived and we'd definitely go again. Certainly one of the best places to spend an evening in Wakefield and it's only a 5 min walk from most car parks in the centre.

A group of 4 on a Saturday lunchtime. The food was delicious, especially the pork and jambalaya. Staff were lovely and very friendly, our table was a little small for all our tapas dishes, but they brought us an additional small table over. I was celebrating a birthday, and the barman whipped up a complimentary cocktail. This was our third visit, and won't be our last.

A bit of a mismatch between the old bank building and architecture and a Cuban restaurant. I had to walk out, check if I really had the right place before I went in again. Food was good, although I’ve tasted better. The staff was very friendly, but the service was terrible: I had to order a glass of wine four times before I got it. Overall not a bad experience, but not great either.

We booked for a bottomless brunch, for a birthday. We sat at the table for over an hr before our food arrived, drinks took ages, and got some wrong. The food was lovely when arrived, but the chips arrived as we finished and where onto dessert! Other tables around us, came in after us and got food before us!!

Food was late (1.20 hrs late) despite pre ordering. Wrong food brought to the table. Service was poor.

We had a friends birthday at Qubana and Benji was amazing! He went over and above for us and made sure we had a brilliant time. He could not have done more even after all the requests, which he did with a smile!! We will definitely be back! Good was gorgeous! It took a bit of time but it was very busy. Was worth the wait.

My mother in law, sister in law and I went for dinner last Saturday night. We’ve been several times before and used to it enjoy it but unfortunately we won’t be returning after this visit. We had to wait 40 minutes just for our drink...

Amazing food. The patatas Bravas are the best!! Brilliant service.

Not only was it a weekday evening, but there were also hardly any customers. And the service was still super duper slow. Forget the food, even the basic drinks took ages! Can't imagine how bad it would be when it's filled with customers. Never going back again.

Shocking Customer Service. An hour wait for starters and meals not up to much. Gave up after another hour of waiting for Desserts and asked for the Bill. Overpriced and to be honest had more value for money at a lot better venue 😔

Booked a table, wasn’t ready when we arrived - fair enough. Went to the bar to get a drink n couldn’t get served. Then we were seated waited 25 minutes for someone to take our drinks order and we ordered our food at the same time to be told there would be a long wait. We left, something dreadfully wrong with the logistics here. Such a beautiful building was looking forward to eating here.

We have been before many time, we ate here a few weeks ago, the blonde hair girl with her hair tied back, is just rude, never smiles and always seems to be having ago at other staff members, we came for dri ks today and she grudgingly served us drinks, I've tolerated her attidue twice now, we won't be doing it again!! And it's such a shame as the food is amazing but I come out for a great atmosphere not to see miserable faces, sorry.

Came for the Sunday dinner, which was great, unfortunately the service was terrible. One particular waitress/front of staff was so disinterested that a supervisor had to have words. Came back a few days later for a drink, and the same person that was spoken to earlier that week hadn't taken a word of what must have been said on board. Again, she looked absolutely miserable, with no people skills and totally disinterested. If you take a job serving the public at least look as if you want to do it. Disappointing.

tastes good but atmosphere was off

Nice atmosphere but the food (tapas) was all very average. Some didn’t arrive at the table until we chased it. Service was dreadful. Smiley staff but left us ages before taking a drinks order & had to be asked to clear plates after we’d finished & been sitting with them for at least 30 minutes. Unlikely to recommend or return.

Used to absolutely love qubana but we went last week and it wasn't as good. The food was ok and a little over priced, which I don't usually mind cos it's worth it but on this occasion it wasn't really. The service was slow and there wasn't any particularly friendly staff like there used to be. They brought a receipt at the end and it was massively wrong and they weren't particularly apologetic about it, just basically said that the last table order hadn't been cleared and just asked what we had actually had and took the rest off. We will give it another try as it could have been an off day but was slightly disappointed as I have always had amazing experiences there in the past

We paid £71.45 for a nice food meal. Service was absolutely shocking we had to get up and get our own knifes and forks. We had to ask for napkins, they took our order of drinks and they never came. Overall do not eat on the terrace. Absolutely shocking. 29/07/2023

Classiest Bar in Wakefield by some distance !!

Lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious

Not impressed at all. Not suitable for parties of more than 4. Order was incorrect, food bland and overpriced. The place is loud to the point of being unpleasant.
