The food was as I ordered but the bar lady made me wait ages to order while she bantered with a load of guys at bar the waitress was very loud talking across tables to customers and basically very abrupt won’t be back as felt very uncomfortable

I don’t know why this place gets such a high recommendation. It’s looks very inviting from the outside and the food is cheap but apart from that there is little to recommend it. The table we were shown to after we had booked was next to the gents toilet. The table was sticky and had not been cleaned properly after the last customers. We also had the pleasure of a birthday party accompanied by their children. We had to go in search of extra cutlery because there was not enough in the tub for four people. The serviettes were small and thin more like tissues. The starters were tasty and at 3 for £12 good value for money. Two people had the carvery and the ham and accompaniments were mostly well prepared and again value for money. I had scampi and the chips and scampi and the small quantity of tartar sauce tasted fine but the peas which looked like they had come out of a tin were not in my opinion edible. The food arrived fairly promptly but the staff were only available when they were delivering the food or picking up the used plates. We had to pay for the food when it was ordered but I suppose this a sign of the times these days. I would not go there again but if you are in a tight budget this place could be worth trying.

Stopped for a relaxing drink on Saturday evening and had a sneaky chocolate lava cookie, made and delivered by Zak. Zak always makes a great dessert and offers service with a smile. Service was quick and atmosphere was great. Quantock delivered again!

Class this as standard as its hit ir miss and an staff seem stand around alot and are slow on wat they do stood waitin nearly 10 mins for apple sauce but they be bk in a mini my extra dish I ordered was ment to hav with my carvery turned uo when I'd nearly finnish and was horrible and the one thing that is hurndous is there peas never tasted anything like them defo avoid I can't even describe them just ewww and I loke all types if peas but there nasty even perso with me spat them out but good all round cheap food nite out u get wat u pay for but someone e there can cook a steak steak was spot on

We were a big party tonight, the Manager made sure all our food arrived at the same time even though there were multiple people ordering. Staff were great. Food was good as usual. Carvery was very yummy. Highly recommend this pub.

Was for post funeral get together of40 people - food provided. Very generously only charged us for 30. Loads of food, enough for about 60 provided - very generous, and food good as well - good range of food. Staff lovely. Impressed me. Would definitely recommend

Lovely experience at quantock gateway. Ordered 4 carverys which were lovely and great value. Had an issue with the meat and the lovely member of staff called Zak put it right with no issues, ensured each member of the table were happy with their foods and chatted to us with fantastic customer service and we are all very satisfied. I Ate at the cavary on Sunday and although the food was delicious I have to admit that it was only Luke warm. The gammon and the turkey looked very dried up so we all decided to have the beef. Unfortunately the only Veg that was hot were the new potatoes which were filled up whilst we were there. This gave us the feeling that the rest of the veg and the gravy had been there since last night. I future we will eat later than today which we feel will then be served fresher veg and then you will get an outstanding review

After Christmas, we fancied a steak meal and looked around our local area. The Quantock was the only option. We were disappointed, the service was less than perfect, the food was below avarage, the steak was not very tasty. The table was sticky! Will not be going there again.

Quantock is great value for money. It's always a nice warm and welcoming place to be with lovely staff. Food is decent. I really enjoyed the carvery today. It's a regular place for us and the children as they love it. Definitely recommend.

Please see my original report and managers response to it , on my photo below. (Visited 17:15. 05/01/2025) Firstly. The burger was very thin approximately 8mm thick, the bacon was like grease proof paper with pink stripes, the 2 onion rings looked to be missing but on closer inspection found greasy and flattened under the burger. Secondly. The larger was Carling and served in UNLINED, Carling glasses the pint measure on these glasses is therefore the brim of the glass, there was a head of froth approximately 10 mm and a gap above the froth of about 10mm to the rim of the glass. Thirdly. NOBODY came to our table to ask how the meals were (I think it was table 29 or 26), If they had I would NOT HAVE SAID "GOOD". Due to your rude response, to my original report (photo). I shall be bringing all of this to the attention of your head office.

Great staff clean tables and food good. Atmosphere was nice and friendly and service was very good. Food was nice and hot when it arrived at the table. I've used this restaurant for at least 10years and it never disappoints me and I never worry when I take friends who come down from the midlands, the last time just before Xmas she commented how good the food was and the cost was so cheap.

Disappointing visit for our Boxing Day family get together. There were only two waitresses serving who were also taking orders at the bar and clearing , lovely girls who were doing their best. Food was fine but the desserts took forever and arrived sporadically after us asking for a refund, and the table was only half cleared from the main course. We cleared it ourself in the end. We had booked weeks in advance as had other families so management should have known the level of service they needed to provide. Real shame because we had a great experience last year. Somewhere different next year I think!

Christmas day review We arrived 15 minutes early as a party of 9 this was not a problem we were welcomed and seated straight away all the staff were dressed in christmas attire which made it feel very christmasy and there was a great atmosphere about the place. Our starters came out very quickly and we asked if we could change a few as we fancied something different on the day to what we originally ordered which wasnt a problem and we received different starters straight away we then went up for our carvery the queue was small and we got our food promptly and they had turkey beef gammon pigs in blankets all the meats you could wish for im not a vegtable fan but i must say they had everything such as sprouts parsnips coliflour cheese sweed carrots broccli green beans boiled potatoes roast potatoes mash yorkshire pups absolutely everything peoples plates were piled high then dessert was amazing we had sundeas chocolate filled cookies chocolate fudge cake cheese cake we were stuffed now there was a delay on the desserts coming to the table however this wasnt an issue as it gave our food time to go down before we had desserts. Id like to thank ALL the staff for a fantastic christmas day lunch and wish them all a great new year we will see you very soon for sunday carvery

Came here for Christmas Day Dinner while away, all staff were lovely, food was brilliant, pub very cosy and friendly. Highly recommend and will come back next time we visit.

Preordered our breakfast and paid in advance. It took an hour and a half to be served our order.

Good carvery, good customer care, simple system (even the car parking - don't forget to enter your car registration) and a great experience.

Food great, service even better, loved the place, manger could not do enough for fanatic place busy but still food come quick & hot thank you for great birthday meal & service.

Had to wait ages for my food meanwhile I noticed black mold inside a picture frame and lamp shades. Staff weren’t very happy to be there and tables were not clean at all. Needs improvement food was not pleasing at all

We got married at the local registry office at 3pm and as it was just the both of us we decided to go to this pub for a meal as we hadn't been there for over a year (we will be attending more often as of now) and we hadn't planned anything else for that afternoon/evening we was welcomed by lovely and friendly staff that went above and beyond to make sure we was enjoying our visit. Thank you to the excellent staff at the quantock gateway for giving us our meal for free we appreciate your kind gesture very much and made our day even better than already was thank you

Enjoyed the most fantastic carvery at the quantock today. I have tried carveries in many places but this was 100% the best I have ever had. Fresh produce perfectly cooked and definitely plenty of it but the icing on the cake for me was the biggest homemade Yorkshire pudding I have ever seen. Absolutely delicious food. Nick and the team were friendly and welcoming. I will certainly be back again. A massive thankyou to you all.

Had lunch here today with daughter. I had Vegetarian option for Roast dinner. I had cheese and potato pie which was very large but tasteless. Chunks of potato inside a hard crusts with a cheese sauce... Don't bother. The vegetables were OK but the sprouts looked like they had been around a while. Had to ask which was the Vegetarian gravy as not marked. Daughters meal ok she had fries mac and cheese which to be fair you can't go far wrong. £3.40 for a fanta too was a complete rip off. Standards are down. Oh and to be called 'sweet' all of the time was a bit annoying 😑.....I did mention the pie to a young gentleman who apologised to me and to be fair it's not his fault.

Food was absolutely amazing, cooked by kyle 100% recommended steak was spot on and mum loved her food, starters and mains were on point. Terri and the team was amazing nothing was to much hassle will definitely come back.

My friend and I visited on 25th November. We shared the chicken combo . My friend had a dodgy upset stomach a few hours after.

I went for lunch with my son, followed by drinks with my friends. The service was speedy and exceptionally friendly. The staff made me feel more than welcome and I never felt hurried. Nick is a great landlord, always open to ideas and suggestions and happy to make time for you even when exceptionally busy. Teri is also extremely friendly without being overbearing. I will be back!
