Well pub was amazing but unfortunately the customers were not so desirable. When we visited there was a rather sad elderly lady who was offering her self to all the locals which was rather embarrassing… so if you do go there avoid at all costs a female called ( I believe) naughty nik nik!!!

I ordered the home made beef pie made with Timothy Taylor beer. The pastry was dreadful, it was awfully soggy . The meat was as cheap as you could buy. It was tough, grisly. I ate some of it because I was with friends, but eventually decided enough was enough and told the bar man that it was dreadful. He was very polite and asked would I like to order something else. I asked for Gammon, chips and egg. As soon as I put some gammon near my mouth I could tell that it was not at all fresh.. I then said to the barman that the gammon was far from fresh. There are so many pubs like this who are serving up poor food

We were on our way to meet up with our daughter and her partner, who had been attending a wedding in Cornwall, and were travelling back to Shropshire. I phoned to ask if a table for four was available, and received a very friendly response. On arrival, we were made to feel very welcome, including our dog. The food portions were ample, well prepared and well presented. The bill was so reasonable that my wife asked if there had been a mistake. The pub and it's owners deserve success, especially as we have encountered so many bad examples of customer service elsewhere.

absolutely vile place. The pub looks so tired and run down. The staff are rude and lool like they need a good wash. The food was disgusting and tasted like the fryers hadn't been cleaned in years. The manager was rude and was heard laughing about customers to a very scruffy lady I say politely who was working behind the bar. Funny as displaying a 5 star hygeine rating yet the council confirm it is a 3. Avoid avoid avoid!!

If I could I would have given a Zero. The worst meal I have ever had. I don't know why the place hasn't been shut down. The food was disgusting, service awful we asked to speak to the Manager to be told she is too busy because she is doing the cooking! Management unprofessional when we did see them and not interested in talking to us or listening to us, until we left to go when we hadn't paid, they were soon there then. Food swimming in fat, burnt, tasted awful and well the onion rings they were something else. I wouldn't give the food to the dog. How this place stays open I do not know, environmental health would have a field day!

We turned up half an hour before end of food service. The chef turned up whilst we ordered a drink, having been stuck on the M5 for 3 hours. She could not have been more helpful. She asked us to be patient and we could have whatever we wanted off the menu. The meals were brought to us 20 minutes later and could not have been tastier. Very fresh fish and chips and a great Hunters chicken. The decor seems new and has lovely typical country pub furniture. We will definitely return soon.

We stopped here randomly as a halfway stop for our journey. The staff were really friendly and polite. The facilities were immaculate. The food was lovely (and we have 2 very fussy children) the premises were child and dog friendly the kids loved the park and Gizmo the dog. The staff were busy and when the children asked them a question they stopped and gave the same level of customer service as they did for us adults. Also there were a few Vegatarian options which suited our family as well. I would highly recommend this place.

Rather disappointed to be honest, it started badly and went downhill from there. We'd booked a table for four at 8pm and when we arrived were told that they had no record of it. My wife said that our booking had been confirmed by email. The lass who was serving looked fed up and frazzled and said "Ok, but we have a party in, so im afraid you'll have to wait to have your order taken and get your food". There only seemed to be two members of staff on,herself and the lass behind the bar. We got a drink and sat down chatting till the lass serving was able to take our orders. This unfortunately was also a bit of an issue. My wife is a coeliac and thats one of the reasons we chose the Puriton Inn, as they have quite a good selection of gluten free options on the menu. She'd already decided to go for the lamb chops option, but was informed that wasn't available, as the menus online haven't been updated. She went for a steak instead. The food arrived quite quickly and was adequate , but again when it came to ordering dessert it was a big let down. On the menu online they have four gf desserts listed. The barmaid had to come over and read out from a list what was actually available. Anything my wife had fancied wasn't available, the lass was very apologetic and said that all they did have was what was left in the freezer, which they were trying to get rid of. So basically the only thing available she could eat was ice cream, it was rather frustrating and disappointing to be honest as we'd specifically chosen the Puriton inn on the basis of the gf options listed on the menu.

Positives: literally a minute from M5, very dog friendly, very welcoming staff, good beer, lovely secure garden with great children's play equipment. I used to love this place but what has happened to it?! Had Christmas dinner here - I can't even describe how disgusting it was, I could still vomit thinking about it! Firstly our starters went to another table and then to us (hello covid!) My partner's starter smelt and looked like cat food! (INEDIBLE) and another person's was cold. We asked for it to be warmed up, 15minutes later it arrived back - it must have got lost! (maybe santa took it!) The main was the worst thing we have all eaten, I wouldn't even give it to the dog, obviously frozen produce and we were all missing the trimmings. We were all holding out for the pudding but no, even that was just a disappointment. The quality did not match the price that you charged. We all appreciate that you work on Christmas day and open your doors to everyone but please close them next time and stay sober whilst in service

In the interest of brevity, I have abridged my review to include only the main points. Worst customer service experience of my life. Took an hour between courses, starters were brought out, then removed and sent to another table as if Covid didn’t exist. Mains were cold with watery veg. Deserts were a mystery. Staff had no clue what they were bringing out because, and I quote “we can’t sniff ‘em anymore [to work it out]” Staff we’re either clueless, rude or visibly drunk and wobbling like a weeble. Requests for drinks or next courses fell on deaf ears. And the excuse? “Well, you are a large party.” Yes, a large party which was booked over a month in advance. One that you were fully aware of and had made a binding contract to cater for, such is the nature of your business. The crux came when we were wrongfully accused of having not paid our deposits. The meal was a joke, but you can laugh at a joke. Having the entire staff come out in a feeble attempt at intimidation is no joke. Had we had any sense, we’d have walked at that point, and left the money-grabbers to count their buttons. To sum up, the Puriton Inn is badly managed and offers food you wouldn’t feed to a rabid dog, all led by visibly drunk or entitled staff and management. I would rather wander aimlessly through 1940’s Auschwitz in a kippah than set foot in this place again.

What has happened to this place? We just had Christmas dinner here today. To start off some of our guests didn't receive any welcome drinks and the welcoming itself was very disjointed , when we were seated in what I can only describe as the toilet alley a table slapped in a very awkward position. Once we we in our feeding pen we then waited an hour for our starter. Once it arrived the soup was cold. We told the waitress who then got it reheated to a luke warm state we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt and all was looking forward to our main. It come out and I felt sorry for the meat it needed armbands as it was struggling to stay afloat with the oily gravy train . No veg but enough pigs in blankets to keep bridgy fed for the rest of 2022. Some of us missing stuffing. No effort was made to make this special today and we paid alot of money we feel let down and robbed. Stick to pouring the pints 👍 I understand it's not easy but don't offer this service in the future.

Well where do I start I used to go to this place a couple of times a year when the previous owners had it and it was hit and miss then but the food was still to a good standard. I was told by a work colleague who lives in the village that it had changed hands and was better then before and I should give it a go as I would not be disappointed with the place. They could not have been far wrong it was the worst visit I have ever experienced the locals made you feel like I was walking into a local morgue all that was missing was their white coats and the same can be said for the staff. They place is painted a gery colour and looks like a place where people with depression go after being to a meeting with the looney doctors. After ordering a round drinks we decided to order some food with the person behind the bar that I could describe as someone with as much use as criminal on death row finding out that they can't have a last meal by the chef before they were hung at sunrise. It took 45 minutes to get the food out of the kitchen after the chef had finished chatting up every one in the pub and the old human sacrifice of the poor kitchen porter. To our disappointment both meals were cold enough to be put back in the freezer for the next victim to fall though the door. The old bloke who I believe could have been the manager thinks he is the bees knees but he's more like Mr blobbys baby grown up. He speaks to females like they are second class and are a piece of property and not a human being. If I can say one thing about this place is the drink was OK but other than that you will be better off visiting the pub up the road where the food is hot.

Firstly I was met with incredible customer service from the lady I spoke to today (Friday 20th sept 2024) which was initially why I had chosen this truck stop as she was informative on the phone about directions, facilities and spaces and the same in person upon arrival telling me clearly where things are and so on. The toilets and showers here was clean and tidy but as for the cafe given my late arrival on a Friday this was closed but this is to be expected as a HGV driver. Just over the road is a pub that serves good food and drink as well as hotels and shops within walking distance so this is a fantastic location for a truck stop that I see doing well in the future.

Poor quality Ham, Eggs and Chips It was 10.15 at night so we went for something’s simple.. The eggs which are usually fried came out poached and were rock hard with hardly any yolk at all. You could count the chips on two hands although it was suppose to be the large meal and there was hardly any taste. Will go elsewhere to eat next time.
