Lovely cosy place Great value tasty food go there pretty often. Good friendly staff

Booked for Breakfast at 08:15, this was confirmed. Turned up and the doors were closed. We were greeting by a member of staff who informed us they were not opening for breakfast as a gas safety check was taking place, which they did not know was to take place. I could be wrong, but gas safety checks are usually booked in advance and they do not take place at 8am on a Sunday. They usually also require a works van/vehicle, which was not in the car park. I would take a guess that this was simply an excuse. Either way, could there not have been an email or phone call to let me know breakfast was not on? We visited the Admirals Table a week prior and it took 2.5 hours to be served and the food was pretty bad so I guess it serves me right for giving them anther go! Will not be going back again that's for sure!

Friendly service, easy to book online, lovely atmosphere for a family get together. Everyone came away with happy bellies and smiles on their faces. Good value for money. Would highly recommend to friends and colleagues.

My daughter booked 6 of us for Christmas Day. We waited outside in a queue and then again inside with lots of other people all waiting for a table. We got a table that hadn’t been set after 1 hour 15 minutes. They had run out of tablecloths so the tables were sticky. We were given serviettes and cutlery to hand out to us all. I could go on and on about the food which was cold and the miserable chef on the carvery. The waitress serving us was trying to be cheerful and we felt sorry for the staff who were run off their feet with no organisation and trying to do their best in a bad situation. Would never never ever go there again.

First time I have ever booked to go out for Christmas dinner and what a disappointment....Table booked for 2.30pm, waited in a queue outside the restaurant for 15-20 minutes. Then was told people were still sitting on our table so to wait in the bar. We stood waiting for over an hour, talking to others who had waited even longer. Eventually we were seated at a table with no cutlery or tablecloth as they had run out. The waitress had to lay the table the best she could. 5 out of 6 starters turned up but the last one arrived when everyone else was finished eatting. Unfortunately the main meal was cold and the desserts we had pre ordered had run out (so what was the point of pre ordering). When we eventually had dessert we only had 3 spoons for 6 people, two of which were soup spoons. Also the table was sticky. Really was a disappointing meal, especially when I had family visiting from London.

Friendly welcome at the bar - apart from a disgruntled "chef" who was looking for "Ginger" for something he had, or had not, done. My party was 8 strong and the allocated table was clean & tidy - although the floor in the whole of the pub could have done with a good sweep! Menu was good - although no Christmas meals were offered - & the food, which arrived promptly, with a smiling and effective server, was hot, well cooked & delicious. There were 4 children who(mostly) had steaks, & these were tender and correctly grilled. The puddings & coffee afterwards were also excellent, meaning empty plates throughout the meal. Overall, a very enjoyable evening &, despite a few minor issues, means we will come back again.

Dirty tables poor service bloke was moaning about three staff had gone sick and he had been working since 6am and would close tomorrow poor customer service no idea of staff management this place has gone downhill big time

Went for a meal main came out fairly quickly then ordered a dessert waited 45 minutes then complain to be told 3 staff had gone sick today and the guy had been working since 6 am very poor customer service won't be visiting again

Spent the afternoon after my Mothers funeral at the Admirals Table. Good Buffet,great service,friendly staff.

Good pub, half decent food, probably one of the comfiest beds I slept in

The carvery was awful, the beef was so rare I couldn't cut it, the vegetables were cold but they brought out a fresh cauliflower cheese with raw cauliflower, the gravy was like water, sorry but never again.

The breakfast was delicious and a very good price! We met for a meeting and the environment helped us have a relaxed and positive morning! Thank you!

Very friendly and helpful pub with great rooms, food very nice and not over priced. We stayed for 3 nights when I booked over the phone forgot to mention that my partner was disabled, so when we got there they changed are booking to a disabled room without us asking. You can order food and breakfast by qr code and pay before going into dinning area.

Easy to find, our second time of staying here. Was very helpful to move us to a disabled room as couldn't do the sstairs.

Everything and everyone was just perfect ! ... We had a really nice early evening meal and a pint ... We will certainly visit again next time in the area 🤗

Had a table booked for brunch at 11.30 didn't get there till at least 13.30. Due to motorway being closed. But they held our table and was very helpful . No problems with the orders or the food and there was 17 of us

Sunday 27th October. Booked on line for family including my mother in a wheelchair - this was stated on the booking we had a wheelchair user. Table was right by the food service counter no provision for the wheelchair . I had to crawl over two chairs to get to a seat not enough room to pull the table out to make access easier. Food was mediocre beef looked good but wasn't - my sisters dog did well. Only two people clearing/serving drinks so service was pretty poor we sat for 25 mintes with dirty plates it wasn't particularly busy. As a result we didn't bother with deserts. This was going to be our venue for Christmas needless to say we're not going.

Hit and miss with food here. My last visit I had an enjoyable meal, the time before that was atrocious.

What has happened here? We have been here multiple times over the last 3 years since moving to Bridgwater. It has never let us down until now. This was the emptiest I've ever seen the place and after my experience I semi understand why. The place wasn't as clean as it usually is. Table was quite sticky. I ordered the hunters chicken. I have attached a photo of what was brought out when it eventually came to us as she first toom the order to another table who said it wasn't their food but it arrived with us. I had to ask where the onion rings were which she looked and said she will go get them. Eventually came back with 2 onion rings. This meal used to come with 3 before but it seems the portion sizes have been much reduced. I can understand that costs of products etc have gone up and businesses are probably left with either putting up prices or reducing portion sizes but the worse thing you can do is reduce the portion sizes and yet keep these large plates. Maybe switch to a smaller plate so the meal doesn't look like half of it is missing?

Sadly a very mediocre cooked breakfast today (17/10/24) I did expect more for the price, 2xbacon, 1xsausage, 1xtoast, beans mushrooms and black pudding They advertise from £6.79 but charge £8.79 with no options, tea only served in a mug (tastes so much better from a pot), total £11.15 so they could do better and no doubt others do do better. These were prefer unlimited hot drinks. 😎👍

Had an amazing meal cooked by Dave and Tim. Served by Grace who was very polite and nothing too much. Dog friendly which is a big plus for us and all the staff were very friendly with her.1

Arrived here for lunch on a Friday. Suzanne was our waitress. She was amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble

Came here as premier in Bridgewater north was not serving food. Was not disappointed, nice food swiftly served and a good price. Well done.

Turned up after a long day and had great service from the moment we walked in, the food was amazing rooms are a perfect size and beds are incredibly comfy, Katie from behind the bar was also great very talkative and help with everything we needed. Will definitely be back

Very British, in everything, from the food to the rooms, however clean and the staff very helpful and welcoming, not for everyone, the place must be understood, historic along the road you can't look for the comfort of modern hotels but it has everything for a quiet and peaceful night a typical English pub below

Very run down in rooms, mattress was so past it's best. Just a shabby state, some mould in bathroom. Breakfast times and quality not great. Food and rooms are the key areas for me and the place didn't give that. Staff were very helpful though. Would I stay there again. No there better for the price in the area. Wasn't cheap per night stay.

This is our go to restaurant. Since moving to Bridgewater 6 months ago, we have visited The Admirals Table 3 times. The service and food is always good. We've experienced no problems. We are always made to feel welcome.

We were looking for a reasonably priced place to stay and eat on a short 3 day trip to Bridgwater. Chose the pub because it had good reviews. The good: Staff were very helpful, professional and friendly. The food (we had dinner) was delicious and the prices very reasonable although they didn’t have any fish and we had to choose something else. The Room was huge. Very roomy, the shower was lovely. Loads of hot water. The bad: The place needs a thorough deep clean. The carpets throughout are stained and very very grubby. The table we used in the pub was sticky to the touch and not pleasant to sit at. The Room and corridors to the rooms had a nasty garlic/ stale smell. Very unpleasant Would I return- not unless it’s been thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom

We stayed here as a family. Nothing wrong with the pub. Chloe greeted us who was very helpful a d went above and beyond. Sadly the other staff do let her down by not being as competent as chloe is. I asked for extra coffee ☕️ for my room. The staff member asked chloe where it was and she was looking right at it! Food and stay was good thank you chloe.

The animals table in Bridgwater has really good food from the menu the carvery has good meat vegetables but the gravy is lacking! I've had quite a few Carveries there the gravy was watery lacking of favour the last Carvery I had was slightly thicker but still like an in-flavor. Come on chef use the meat juices from the four meets into the gravy and analytical bit more thickening maybe a bit more salt and pepper and it would be fantastic

We walked in and waited 5minutes to be greeted. We then placed our orders though the app as requested (WiFi was terrible and order didn’t process twice) eventually when the order went through We ended up waiting 30minutes for our first drinks and then 50minutes for our second. Food took an hour after order to be delivered and 1st kids meal was wrong, then the 2nd kids meal wasn’t brought out until we asked about it 10minutes later. Quite possibly the worst experience out we have ever had. We had lunch at another well known pub chain beginning with a W and would give that a Michelin star for service compared to the meal at Admirals table.

Didn’t stay so can’t comment on rooms, but went to pub on Sunday evening for a meal. Terrible service and long wait! Clearly not enough staff, the manager was dashing around but not helping the poor girl on the bar. Georgia behind the bar was amazing polite apologetic and doing her best to cope. She needs the support of proper management.

Booked Sunday lunch for 4 at 13.30. Meat was not ready and was asked to wait another 10 mins - 30 mins later beef was still bloody. Veggies had got cold whilst waiting. Men paid extra for regular but could see no difference in size only that you had 1 extra slice of meat. Surroundings very tired and shabby needs a complete refurbishment. No apologies made for the wait, no enquiries as to whether we had enjoyed our meal. Terribly disappointed will not be returning

The rooms were extremely spacious & the king size bed was amazingly comfortable (one of the best nights sleep iv ever had)

We came to the Admirals Table for a family birthday dinner and had a great time! We were served by Katie who was really lovely! The kids enjoyed the colouring sheets whilst waiting for food to come out and the food was really good too!!

Good points. Lovely staff, food good, bed clean, shower powerfull and seeing the location was in a dual carriageway the hotel was rather quiet. Bad points. Hotel needs a really good clean and an update, the photos are rather deceiving!

Stayed over in motorhome in car park. Free of charge made welcome evening meal and breakfast available. Nice big pub nice atmosphere

We had a table booked for 18:30, for 17 people, on arrival the restaurant was not really busy with about 6 or 7 tables occupied. On arrival I ordered drinks for myself and my two grandchildren and then said that I was here for a booking for 18:30 and gave the name that the table was booked under, to be asked "Is that the table for 18 people ?" How would I know ? I was a guest, I had not booked the table. We were then shown to a table and told "This is probably yours." Luckily, there were two people sat there who we knew. After everyone had arrived and got drinks, looked at the menu, we then went up to order. I put my order in and the time on my receipt after I had finished was 19:16. We were told at the time, that it would probably be 45 minutes before the food would be ready and that they would make sure that the orders (4 or 5 separate orders) came out together, to which we said that was ok. To cut a long story short, after an hour and a half, we enquired where our meals where, to be told they were on the way. In the mean time, we saw tables who had come in after us and order, have their meals bought to the table, and in fact by the time our meals came out, one of these tables had eaten and left. Again, we enquired about the meals, to be told they would be out in a minute. We did say that, after being told there was only one person in the kitchen, that we would like the children's meals brought out first, as we had children in the party as young as two. The meals started coming out, a mixture of adults and children's meals. These meals were not hot, in fact warm would be a hard word to use ! Some of our group carried on and ate their meals as they were hungry, my meal had to go back twice due to different items on the plate being cold and then when it was brought out a third time, I found the whole meal to have been microwaved. This left me not enjoying my meal ! The cook (cannot call her a chef), came out to apologise and promptly told us the issues that they had over staffing that evening. I'm sorry, when a table for a large party has been booked for just over a week, you make sure that you're restaurant and kitchen is staffed to manage it. I don't want to her how staff have been given the same night off to go to an engagement party or that another chef has phoned in sick - not professional. Thank goodness for your senior bar/waiting staff, she was brilliant and couldn't apologise enough for our experience, and she took upon herself to provide us with complimentary desserts. I still find it hard to understand how, on a Saturday evening, you have three members staff on and one person in the kitchen. Will I come back ? Not for a very long time.

The atmosphere is poor as the restaurant is very dark in lighting and furnishing. There is no table service so you have to visit the bar which is up steps, so not good for the less able. The soft drinks from the pump very expensive at £3.80 for a large fairly flat cola. The lady who served the food was very attentive and pleasant but the bar man was less so. We haven't visited this pub for several years when food supplies seem to be a problem. Then it was two meals for the price of one but this is no longer the case so the meals are more expensive than other places in town The place needs to be upgraded and refurbished to encourage customers to return

One and a half hours to get food!!!

Eat here at your peril! Walking in to rotten eggs smell already a bad sign... staff unaware of any smell, noseblind! Menu.... half not available. Drink on draught many options unavailable. Staff apologies but this is not the way to get people back to going out. No specials boards any more. Miracle suddenly menu options available !!! Salad option doesn't come up on till but you could of had some..... strange no mention of it on the menu with breaded items! Very average food salty meal sent back mixed grill cooked very mixed and left. Lacadasic in all areas. Such a let down Accessible all areas but wasted with other areas failing to meet any grade Value for money definately not. Take your money and custom elsewhere. Marstons is a good name, the memo didnt get through.

So don’t normally leave many reviews but I was utterly stunned by this place to be honest, great food and such a relaxed vibe. Staff are all smiling and happy to help. It really does feel like a home from a far. One last thank you to all the staff and management which made my stay as pleasant as possible. Would highly recommend and I look forward to staying once again

Why haven’t you and why I’m I having to chase you for payment nearly a month later. Amazingly bad service and very poor customer service

The fact you have a gluten free menu, but don't really cater for them at the carvery, not good, food that came up the chips were cold and the gluten free bun was hard, and even the things from the carvery weren't very hot.

Only had food , Abby behind the bar met us with a smile and Shannon and sumah were very friendly and helpful ….. steak was delicious , would come back prices were fab x

Staff were extremely helpful I couldn’t fault that. As for the carvery it was very poor. Barely warm and the beef was so tough you couldn’t cut it the pork was just fat and no meat. Left Most of it.

Great as always. We used to visit 6 or 7 times a month. Can't do it as often now due to the massive increase in prices since covid. I mean £9.50 for nachos, for example, couldn't bring myself to order them at that price.

i came in to admirals table for a meal with my family and some lovely girl called charlie i think it was, served me and she was so polite and great service and help, always asking if i need any more drinks etc. highly recommend this place!

Child's chicken burger was hard. There was no bbq sauce in the burger. Fries with the burger were hard. There was no quinoa left so had to have extra salad with the hunters chicken.

The staff were very friendly and super accommodating with dietary requirements, especially our server Shannon!

It's always a pleasure to return, the admiral's table gets a thumbs up from me.👍 Here I am back again at the admiral's table my work brings me west frequently and I always head here for a lovely meal well prepared, a well earned beer of outstanding quality and a good night's sleep. Booked a table for lunch today for my husbands birthday, but recieved a phone call half an hour before we were due to be there, to say they had to cancel our table as they had to shut the kitchen due to unforseen circumstances. We were very disappointed as we've been to eat here several times and we had a voucher for 30% off which we were going to use today, the offer ended today.

First impressions were good in the bar area but then the rest of the place was awful. Furnishings were very shabby, seats were not attached to the base, the seat covers were ripped and very dirty, the table was sticky, the windows were filthy and there was an unpleasant smell. The place is in need of a good makeover. Staff were pleasant enough. Checked the menu online before we went and there was a nice selection of dishes but the actual menu doesn't have the items listed online, a good third of the items were not on the actual menu. Food wasn't good, we ordered a chicken burger and a steak and ale pie, burger was over cooked like eating cardboard and the pie had very little filling and the jug of gravy that came with it was more like dishwater - grey and watery. Would not recommend.

Came last night for a meal and took my mother and family out for a mother's day meal . 3 of us had the southern fried chicken burgers , they were delicious and the gravey tasted just like kfc's gravey too ! Very nice burger indeed. Friendly staff too. Thanks guys

Went today for Sunday Carvery,excellent, Carvery was lovely, beef was Goldilocks Not overcooked,Not undercooked,Just right 😋 Chef recommended the mixed Mediterranean veg in creamycheese and roasted potatoes, Thanks really enjoyed it, staff were Great service was very good, be back soon

Just been to Admirals Table for the first time today on mother's day. I am delighted to say that we enjoyed our 3 course meal,all 3 of us enjoyed it. Our dog was a bit unsettled in the beginning as I requested to be seated in a quieter area ,we weren't but she soon settled after a few treats. Staff were lovely ,polite and very welcoming. Food was lovely as I mentioned and will definitely go back .thank you all.

Arrived hoping to have a late lunch. A very rude member of staff asked abruptly whether we'd booked even though the pub was half empty. We were then moved from the table we'd chosen as it hadn't been cleaned. The woman had a real attitude and it felt like we weren't welcome at all so we left without ordering. Won't ever be going back.

We booked a large table for Mother's day 6 adults and 5 kids . Some had carvery some had plates food plus pudding. Everyone enjoyed the food especially the carvery the prices were also good. Hat's of to the team for the wonderful customer service.

We were a large party celebrating a birthday, very impressed by the attentive servers. They simply could not do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble!

Nice location beautiful food .. customer service was good all polite young workers.. I never stayed in the rooms so can't comment .. definitely coming back ☺️
