I am writing this review to praise a particular member of the team. Her name is angel , she is fast and clears the tables without hesitation en route !! We have witnesses on the table next to us who have agreed and that’s why I have taken to writing this review while I’m onsite. What ever happens do not loose this member of staff. You won’t be able to get another one this efficient 😩

Ordered a burger with bacon and received one small piece cut in half covering less that a quarter of the burger Asked for more was told by staff that is there portion sized and that he works in the kitchen and won't get anymore Asked to speak to manager But received a bowl of stone cold bacon ...so I asked for it warm and the manager told me "All the bacon comes cold and the burger warms it up " Even though the other piece is crispy Either a lie or a health and safety issue Very dismissive attitude towards customers when I asked in a very polite way assuming it was a honest mistake Although the blond 25 yr old ISH ...girl was very polite welcoming and professional so thank you

There are NO please or thankyou's from the barstaff?? How can a manager allow staff to be so lacking in basic courtesy? Everytime I visit (3×weekly) I don't recieve a please or thankyou. Could be that no one uses basic politeness in this particular pub¿ Shame, because most other Wetherspoons are very good but this one is not. If you do visit try not to make eye contact with the very thin tattooed bar person, he is quite aggressive ☹️

The worst weatherspoons I have ever gone to. I’d avoid. Team lead on shift 03/08/24 at 3pm is the rudest person in customer service I and my group have ever experienced. Multiple orders missed / didn’t come to the table despite the pub being generally quiet, when this was brought up we were met with her being incredibly rude. When I politely mentioned she was being rude she threatened to have us thrown out - everyone in the beer garden was stunned because at this point she was causing quite a scene. I’d be ashamed to have her as my employee and safe to say will never be back.

This place stinks! The management need to get the carpets cleaned and open some windows. If your serving food and beverages then at least compliment the area with the sense of cleanliness and odour; the smell is horrific! One round and left.

Nice Weatherspoons good food at reasonable prices meals often come with drinks included, tea and coffee have free refills.

It's one of the better Weatherspoons I have visited, in a stunning building where you have to walk a mile for the toilets! The breakfast and service were good, as you get what you pay for here. However, what always lets it down for me is the typical Weatherspoons clientele. Weatherspoons should put a ban or some sort of restrictions on alcoholic beverages. As soon as the doors opened, many of the clientele went straight to the bar for a pint on a weekday. Many of these people stunk and looked doped up and simply should not have been served. I find this disgusting and in away enabling those with these issues to continue ... shame!

Very grubby from what it used to be year or so ago. Bar area smells of bacteria, floor sticky, ran out of mains and desert...Deserts overpriced for what is usually good value...a lot of noise if you want to take your family..

This was our first visit, the pub is large and has plenty of different seating areas. Service at the bar was quick, easy and friendly. Food arrived after about 10 minutes. Good size portions properly cooked and tasty, enjoyed the 11 inch Ham & Mushroom Pizza which is made with fresh ingredients on the premises. Meal was good value as you would expect from wetherspoons. Pleasantly surprised to find the toilets here are on the same level as the pub, nice change not to have to climb 2 flights of stairs to use them 🤣🤣. Good pub, will come back again 🍻 Update: came back again on 25/08/2022 I tried the kentucky fried chicken strips in a basket with chips and a sauce. ( New on the menu ) tasted good, will have it again. Friendly staff and service is still good.

Out of all the weatherspoons I have visited this was the worse I've been in, the toilets where in a terrible state , 3 of the loos where blocked. And it hadn't been checked for a few hours. Food didn't look that good either so only had drinks.

Same as most good spoons really...nothing surprising. Only 2 guest ales on bar. One described as an american pale ale but was more like a british bitter!

Very nice pub, quick service and lovely hot food. Assistant didn't talk to us and no eye contact, but apart from that everything was OK.

Services was great, no problem getting a table, it's a weatherspoons so food cheap and cheerful.

Nice spoons large inside,quite a bit of room outside to. Standard fare but piping hot. Did Afternoon deal on cod and chips and scampi and chips. So coffee and two meals about £14. Lovely large piece of fish with crunchy batter.

Four adults. Four meals and with three alcohol free. One ale. £35. Beat that?

We were in Bridgwater for the day and chose to have lunch at the Carnival Inn. This turned out to be one of the best Wetherspoons ever! Our cod and chips were absolutely perfect, the cod in large, moist flakes in perfect batter! We noticed the tables were cleared and wiped down quickly, plus the toilets were clean! Highly recommended!

Great place for reasonable food at a good price

Just had the worst fish and chips in a long long time. Very thin piece of fish, severely overcooked. It's my local and I eat here quite a lot, but can't recommend it while there is a chef prepared to serve sub standard food like this.

Use this place regular always have cod and chips, ordered pasta Alfredo, my god, it was horrible, cold, get more cornflakes in my bowl on a morning! Looked and tasted disgusting, took it back! Was told, I will get you another one! No thanks! Not even offered refund, will not use for food again! Very disappointed! Partner had the southern fried chicken and he would recommend, the fish and chips are tasty, hot and faultless, must have been a different chef! EDIT; manager did provide me with a refund, thank you

We had food and it didn't look appealing at all. Looked like it been hanging around for bit. I do enjoy weatherspoons and have enjoyed many of them. But found the staff not very welcoming and food lacking. Just needs a bit more effort.

we came for breakfast, they sold us normally, items arrived at the table, I went to complain they simply ignored my complaint

Absolutely disgusting food it was cold madras curry was like glup scampi and chips were just chucked on the plate it was cold Was an effort for someone to clean the table went for a family meal pizza was hard would not even feed it to my dog's would never go there some items were missing

Very good bar serving food and beers at very reasonable prices throughout the day. Being always busy tells you they are doing something right. They could improve customer service by doing away with there APP, as it appears that staff prioritise this to customers waiting at the bar. An example is standing at bar for 10 minutes, while a friend turned up, used the App and got served first. You cannot fault the staff, as they are constantly on the go.

Excellent early in the week but can get incredibly busy towards weekend. Food is not bad for the price.

Come here every now and then. The food is ok, sometimes good, sometimes leaves a little to be desired depending oh how busy they've been for the day. Otherwise it's cosy and the staff are very good 👍🏻. I recommend the chicken katsu curry, simple and filling for a good price :)

I waited for over 15 minutes to even be looked at by bar staff. Eventually I was told to move further up the bar to get served quicker. This gent was very nice. However, this rotund camp fella was very rude to me, he shouted at me in a terrible slurred tone (I think he was drunk by the way he was walking and talking) he called me a liar and then continued to tell me if I want fast service I should go elsewhere. I replied that he shouldn't talk to me in that manner whilst keeping my composure and still calling him sir. He however was still rude and abusive. It's honestly the worst experience I have had in a pub ever. A complaint will be made to management on the phone over this. I come for a drink and got insulted. unacceptable.

Lovely spoons the carnival inn the staff were very helpfull We stopped for a coffee and bite to eat before going to the bridgewater fair and market The staff said when u goto the fair u must try the Welsh cakes part of the tradition there be lining up for them True to there word we lined up and had the Welsh cakes which were beautiful I will certinally be back next year and back to this lovely spoons pub

This Wetherspoons is looking very tired and dare I say grubby. Food and drink are always affordable here. Food is generally very good, but on this occasion, it was a tad cold. It might be because we ordered a breakfast nearer 12 than we ought we to have. I should have, but I didn't complain. Tables need to be cleared and cleaned promptly. We were outside, and the seagulls helped the staff clear the tables for them. There does not seem to be enough staff. They all appear to be too busy? Visited again on 22/09/23. Some parts of our meal some were luke warm, which was disappointing. However, the staff were polite and efficient, clearing tables and serving food, and doing a great job.

Generally very gd cheap Cheerful and fast. Thursday must have been a off night ordered chicken korma if I’m having chicken dish I want it piping hot this was luke warm the narm bread was hard u couldn’t break it I think the meals had been sat under the lights awhile the curry had gone cold and the narm had been baked This doesn’t normally happen you go there cause u know it’s going to quick and you know what the food will be ok also tables weren’t being cleared maybe someone called in sick

I think it was a bit under-staffed when we went as there were dishes everywhere. Food also took over an hour to arrive. Service was good though.

Shockingly bad. All the tables not occupied had plates piled on them, but worse than that it’s dirty. You have to wipe your feet when you leave. The most unhygienic pub I’ve ever been in. Make sure your vaccines are up to date before visiting. Somersets dirtiest pub.

Great starting point for our girls night out, So glad we chose to order from the bar and not the app as Jake who served us was amazing, great customer service skills, fast service and went above and beyond to make our night great, every bar tender should be like Jake!

Another fabulous experience at The Carnival Inn. Prompt service, excellent prices, great grub and very cheerful and professional staff. These are the reasons why we keep on coming back.

The food was good, but many tables had dirty dishes left on them for the whole time we were there. The duty manager was really busy, set a good example to other staff, just a shame they didn’t follow the example.

We came here on 25th July 2022. Our visit was perfect in every way. Daniel was faultless in the execution of his duties. He was fast, efficient, polite and very friendly. This lovely young man is an asset to Wetherspoons and has so much potential. It was a pleasure to be served by him. Give this amazing man a payrise....he is such an asset to your brand 💯

Good food as usual. Good service. Great place to stop on easy to North Somerset. Slight issue but was rectified brilliantly. Park 50 metres before it and park for an hour

After a poor effort from the bar staff with an incorrect order. Sam went out of his way to improve our experience and was super friendly and quick to rectify the mistake. He was a pleasure to speak to and made my visit really memorable. He’s a credit to the company and it’s a shame there aren’t more employees like him.

We have eaten here on several occasions but am leaving a review here today purely down to the excellent service from the lovely Ashleigh/ Ashley. Despite the venue being understaffed, Ashleigh was fast, efficient, friendly and polite. The service was quick, the food was perfect but it was Ashleigh who made the visit memorable. Wetherspoons take note..... employ more people with this lady's customer-facing skills. She really is in your higher-end 1% of staff. Give her a huge bonus in her next pay packet....she absolutely deserves that. PS......sorry, Ash, if I spelt your name incorrectly!

Visited here for breakfast. Chose our food on the app only to have the app remove our choices as not available. From enquiring at the bar it seems that the freezer had broken down and all vegetarian items were not available. That’s ok, because these things happen from time to time. However, the staff lacked the imagination or direction to create a vegetarian breakfast of their own as all other items were available. There was a ‘freedom breakfast’ available but this included bacon. I asked if the bacon could be substituted and to their credit it could be. The food came along and disappointingly the hottest thing about it was the plate. Beans and mushrooms cold, eggs tepid and the hash browns saving it at warm. Yes I could have sent it back but it wasn’t worth the trouble. This is one off the list and I would recommend that you avoid here, certainly for breakfast.

I used to love wetherspoon's pizzas, cheesy margherita was my favourite. went there yesterday after they've had their maintenance and both- mine and my partner's pizzas hardly had any cheese on it, so it was basically just base and tomato sauce- was awful.

Having a wait in excess of 30 mins for a breakfast inexcusable. 1 coffee machine down causing long queues of over 10 mins for a drink . Commercialism at its best

We were booked for an evening meal at another local pub which was cancelled the morning of our visit due to ‘technical problems’ giving us a problem in finding a venue on a Sunday night which could offer 22 places. The Carnival Inn stepped up admirably and the duty manager that evening named Jim was very helpful finding us the necessary tables together. So what could have been a disaster was in the end a lovely evening thanks to this very likeable, efficient young man and the friendly staff that evening.

We enjoyed a night in here on the Sunday of August Bank Holiday weekend. Althougn there we a few people about the pub was not busy so it was easy to find a table.There was a bouncer the door, checking ID which was good to see.We ordered at the bar each time but there was no issues getting served and the staff were helpful and friendly.A great night was enjoyed.

Usual wait of up to 10 minutes as no staff and one or two are very good at looking busy. I don't eat here anymore and if there are more than 3 people waiting at the bar I go elsewhere even though it may cost me a little more.

Typical Wetherspoons, popped in for a quick breakfast, property is looking very tired but staff are amenable. Food was served very quickly, took advantage of a free refill and then went on our way.As always if you have low expectations when you use one of this chain’s pubs then you shouldn’t be left disappointed!

Came here on a Thursday after experiencing a Wetherspoon curry club meal on many previous occasions in different towns and cities.Very disappointed with the quality. The popadoms were stale, the garlic naan was overdone and hard, and the rice was stuck to the plate in some places.Was given a free dessert after complaining, but this was stuck to the plate as well.If this is the norm for the food at this place, I wouldn't recommend going here.

Decided to have a meal and wished we had not bothered, The Carnival Inn is looking tired and grotty. The furniture needs replacing as its all scratched and tatty. I ordered a Cheese burger and it was uninspiring, burnt. The Carnival inn is always busy due to the cheap alcohol/eats but it is never staffed properly so you are always waiting to be served. Tables are cleared but not cleaned. The place desperately needs a revamp as it is becoming one of the worst Weatherspoons

Went to the Carnival Inn for tea whilst away on a business trip and found a great Wetherspoons pub with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food was good too. What more can you ask for when you’re 300 miles from home.

A quite small frontage opened up into a large deep restaurant! Whilst it a typical Wetherspoons, it is the top end. Good atmosphere, really pleasant staff. Food quite normally acceptable. Whilst busy, there was plenty of room, and service was first class. I would certainly go back.
