Promised our Australian guests a traditional Sunday Roast, but due to the popularity of The Punch Bowl roasts they were sold out, not really surprising! We chose from the menu and thoroughly enjoyed our food. We need to be a bit earlier next time.

Very welcoming and friendly pub. Great staff (thank you Tanaka for looking after our table). Excellent menu choice - their Sunday roasts are just yummy as is their bangers and mash!

Visiting a punchball stay with my mother, trying to spoil her cause she has big surgery tomorrow, we had the most delightful experience with a delicious main course, Mum had a dessert, the most pleasant environment impeccably clean. With the most delightful staff, warm and cozy environment free parking, what could be asked, I had to disappear for half an hour and Ben who was working entertain my mum and looked after her and chatted loads as she’s quite frail, an exceptional experience with the most delicious food, I would hire recommend this place to anybody. The quality of the food the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the pub and toilets was something that was just of the highest standard.

My partner and I had an unforgettable weekend at The Punchbowl. I had planned to propose at Blenheim Palace and they made a very special weekend even more special for us. I asked the owner to put a bottle of champagne in our room at 3.30pm ready for our arrival back from the palace around 4pm. They did it for us and even added some complementary sweets (picture attached). We then got a lovely reception from all the girls who work there and who evidently were aware of the surprise engagement and had a hand in setting up the room. It was all very sweet and very well received by me and my fiancé. Aside from this, the location is perfect, the rooms are lovely and the food was delicious. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to have this memorable weekend. Punchbowl staff - We cannot thank you enough for this weekend. We will 100% be returning as your place is now forever in our hearts. PS - You will be receiving a thank you card in the post very soon ❤️

Visited with my children and parents for Mother's Day. Had a lovely roast dinner and delicious sticky toffee pudding. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the pub had a good atmosphere. My Mum and I were given a little Mother's Day gift of chocolates after our meal which was a nice touch.

We had a fabulous time. From the initial welcome where they recognised the name on the booking and took us straight to the table to the last interaction the staff were prompt, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was excellent, the food outstanding and overall the evening was really memorable for all the right reasons. It was busy but a nice bustling busy rather than feeling like the place was over-stretched. It had absolutely no impact on the service we received which was excellent in every way. Highly recommend! We will go out of our way to visit again

I visited with my mother in law following a walk around Blenheim grounds. The staff were all so friendly and professional, they’re all a real credit to the pub ! The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced too plus so many veggie & vegan options if you need. I’m fairly local and ashamed to say this was my first visit but it won’t be my last !

We met friends here for lunch. It is a lovely pub. Light and airy with a lovely atmosphere and great service. The food was amazing. We had the chicken kebabs, gammon and a burger and all were great. So glad we found it, just sorry we didn’t have room for pudding!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Buzzy with a lovely atmosphere. Rump steak perfectly cooked and lots of trimmings and the chocolate brownie for dessert was by far the best I’ve ever had! Good job I’m not local otherwise I’d be in here all the time! Wonderful hosts and staff. Could not recommend enough.

Great place. We come often and always get great food and service. Lovely in winter as have real fires. If a group book the window table. If a couple enjoy the trivial pursuit cards on each table. Dogs well catered for and welcome so great after a winter walk

The Punchbowl was an ideal stay to visit Blenheim Palace. Quaint Pub in the centre of the gorgeous village. Short walk to Palace gates. Great pub food, lovely staff and super clean rooms (thank you Jenny). Comfy bed. Room over the street had traffic noise by day but very quiet at night.

Call in here on a Monday night and was quite surprised how busy it was with lots of the tables already booked. The waitress found us a table for two quite close to the bar. The food menu was typical to that of pub food with plenty of selection. I had the belly pork and my wife had a pizza. The food was ok but not fantastic but it's what you would expect being pub food. Nice touch with the trivial pursuit cards on the table. Hadn't played the game for years.

Yet another fantastic meal at The Punchbowl. I went for the Mushroom Bourgnignonne Pie on this occasion which was wonderfully warming on a wet and somewhat miserable day. Yum, yum!

We visited The Punchbowl Inn on our way to Stratford-upon-Avon due to favourable reviews on TripAdvisor. Trudi enjoyed a traditional roast rump of mature beef Sunday Lunch with all the trimmings and I went for the breaded whole tail scampi. Both were excellent! For a tourist area, the prices were exceptionally reasonable, and the municipal car park was conveniently located just a few yards away meaning that there was plenty of space. Amazingly in this day and age, the car park was COMPLETELY FREE and there were no less than TWELVE EV charging points available at a very competitive price, so we came back to a fully charged car too!! WINNER! TripAdvisor did it again for us!!

Second visit to Woodstock and with so many excellent places to eat, we'd missed out on this hotel/ inn/ pub restaurant last time. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. I had the chicken shaslik kebab and naan, delicious. Excellent wine, £9.95 for a 250ml. Won't miss out next time.

We visited the Punch Bowl without a booking and were taken to a table immediately. We were served by Rhiannon and Kaelyn. I had a pint of Arkells Best Bitter and my wife a double Captain Morgans spiced rum and coke. We both chose the Chicken and Mushroom pie with chips and dressed salad. This was homemade and excellent. I had the homemade Toffee Apple crumble with custard and my wife the ice cream and sorbet. Both again were excellent, but the service by Rhiannon and Kaelyn was even better - a credit to the pub and more especially themselves. As and when we are in Woodstock again, we shall definitely visit the Punch Bowl.

This was a nice looking hotel in a lovely area. It is just scraping the 4 stars I have decided to rate it though because there were several points that were disappointing but none of them huge deals to me. However, one of the points should really have been a bigger deal to The Vines because, after booking, my details were clearly compromised somewhere along the line. I had booked via a third party site so it may have been their fault. I received SEVERAL emails and then WhatsApp messages from what was clearly a scam trying to get me to confirm my booking and payment via strange links. I called The Vines directly to confirm the booking and explain that I had received these communications but the lady who answered my call had no interest in the GDPR breach and simply confirmed my booking. To be honest, I couldn't be bothered to school her as to how that could have serious implications for the business. I had managed to get the messages to stop before I called. When we arrived at around 19:30 for our stay, we were informed that no food was being served because they were undergoing renovations. It wasn't the fault of the polite, young man who told us but we felt this should have been communicated prior to our arrival. Fortunately, we weren't that hungry and we did have snacks in our bag. Unfortunately, there wasn't a refrigerator in the room to keep them in despite the room description saying there was. There were many other things missing too- sugar for the tea making facilities, hand towels, TV remote for example. Also, when I booked it said I could bring my dog and this appeared to be at no extra cost. After I had paid for the booking I received a message telling me I had to pay more money on arrival to bring my dog. I wasn't asked to pay this when I got there thankfully. We were placed in an upstairs room and would've preferred a downstairs one since we had our dog with us but there was a decent green area to allow him to eliminate and a footpath opposite the hotel where we could give him a brief leg stretch before we set off the next day. The room was clean and spacious enough too, and the breakfast area was very nice, and our cooked breakfast was also good, and we appreciated it being included in the price. The location was great for us and made it easy to explore pretty Cotswolds villages and towns within a short drive as well as Jeremy Clarkson's pub. There's a lovely big garden centre for browsing in nearby in Burford but, if you're bringing your dog like us, it's not dog friendly sadly. I may consider staying at The Vines again in future, because I'm sure we'll revisit the area but it would depend on the prices.

The roast dinners were amazing! We were seated in our own room as a table for 14 including three small kids, perfect setting for us, making it really easy to keep them entertained without having to worry about anyone else in the room... 😃

Very disappointed on food quality and very high prices. Visited there tonight ordered two roast dinners, roast beef was swimming in very salty gravy and beef was tough. Roasted ham was ok ish but bland. Duck spring rolls came has one long roll but was tepid that put me off straight away. So one spring roll two very average dinners £75.00 🫤. Girl that served us was lovely so this is basically on food only. My advice, don’t book online!! Just walk into town look for a busy restaurant you will always find something. 👍
