Stopped in Wedmore for a little walk around - a very pretty village with some nice shops. Sat outside in garden at deli/cafe. Friendly servers although did wait a while to have our order taken. Given a full menu that said lunch served until 1400jrs and it was 1430hrs - a bit misleading and had to ask what was still being served. Decent sized pot of tea for the two of us. Opted for the cream tea - scones were warm which was a nice touch but very small leaving excess clotted cream and jam and if I’m honest I felt it was one of the priciest cream teas I’ve had.

£9 for the world’s smallest Panini They must have scoured the planet for bakers who would make such small Paninis. The menu said it would be served with Crisps and Coleslaw. Not 3 Crisps and a teaspoon of Coleslaw. As you can probably tell, I would score this place well on Value for money. The Pot of tea contained just enough to fill you cup, once.

The ladies were across the road. The credit card taking a right hammering! I had decamped for a Mocha in the sanctuary of the Pumpkin occasionally seeing their latest "try ons" as they approached the Bay Window... Second mortgage applied for, it was time for a light bite with me over at the Pumpkin. Brie and Ham Paninis were the order of the day all round. Tasty, great flavour and with a superb salad. Excellent. Next day, back again for a flat white whilst the seamstress wove her magic. The Pumpkin did us proud, with the only negative of note the speed of service. Next time must return for some Pie - Pumpkin of course - think about it...

Visited today, greeted with a poor reception, as we only wanted coffee and cake we were not allowed to sit in the light and airy front area but was relegated to the dim deli area, was given the breakfast menu which was only served until 11am this also had cakes and pastries on it but only served until 11:45 it was 11:50 and we did not want lunch as we already stated so had no hope really, got up and left like so many before, wish I had read the reviews first, waste of a journey and my time Get your act together Oh yes, practice your manners, they cost absolutely nothing

Dropped in yesterday with my grandson as his school was closed due to strike. The parsnip and apple soup was very good as was the pate and bread. The boy's cheese and ham sandwich was nice, he ate the crisps and left the salad. Are there any 5 year old boys who eat salad ?

Have become regulars at this excellent local cafe. The homemade soup is particularly good, but everything we have tried has been tasty and imaginative. The coffee is great as are the smoothies. Whilst the staff are sometimes stretched because they get very busy, you can always see they are working hard and always apologise for any delays.

Good location and sunny terrace although my first welcome was you can’t leave your bike there rather than would you mind leaving your bike over there….. Coffee was a 5/10 and didn’t really have a lot of flavour. Then charged an extra 15p to use a card rather than cash …..I was told most people use cash now! A memorable experience for the wrong reasons…..

Have visited before and had a very nice lunch, but today I went in on my own to have brunch. Told to sit where I wanted, there were two other tables used, but no-one else. Waited for a while and then got up and asked a waiter if it was table service or I had to order at the counter. He said table service and gave me the breakfast menu, which he said was served until 11am. I sat back at my table and checked the time, which was exactly 11am, so I was not sure if the menu I had been given was actually still being served. There were no drinks offered on the menu. I sat for a while and no sign of anyone coming to take an order for either food or drink, so I just walked out. As I left there were a couple of staff in the cafe, but no-one said a word. Very disappointing, no hint of any customer service and I will not be returning.

We visited this otherwise deserted cafe, and when we eventually tried to order, we were told by a snotty teenage girl that what we wanted wasn’t available because they were only doing a lunch menu, and we both had to order full meals. She was completely offensive in her attitude, & when we spoke the the cook, who smelled really strongly of cigarettes, she couldn’t have cared less. I now understand why the place is empty & rated 9th out of 10 in Wedmore. Don’t be misled by the impression from the street, the service is so bad it just isn’t worth going in. I’d have commented on the food, but seeing as they wouldn’t sell us what we wanted, we took the discerning customers option and left. Just avoid this place is all I can say.

We popped in here for a cuppa and some homemade mince pies. The bill came to an eye-watering £20+!!! Turns out the tiny one-bite mince pies were £2 each, no prices available when you order so foolishly we ordered 3 each (roughly equivalent to a normal mince pie). So £12 for 6 tiny pies….oh and a pot of tea for 2? Nearly £6! Add a bottle of water and we ended up wishing we’d gone to the nearby pub for a sandwich ! May as well…

I have never experienced such a rude deli owner in my life. Ordered food to have in £30 worth and asked for my coffee in a take away cup due to allergy’s to certain washing and ceramic cups. Came out in front of everyone in the shop and shouted and announced that she would never do that as “it confuses people and makes them think they can sit in the deli with take away food or drinks, which they can’t do” I find this baffling and really rude. Made to feel very small and un welcomed. I wouldn’t recommend going. It was really rather horrible being shouted at in the middle of the shop floor

We had in the past eaten in various other places in the village, so decided to visit the Pumpkin on this occasion. We were not disappointed. We had a stilton and broccoli quiche, a cheese and red onion toasty and a pecan pie. All the food was delicious. It was washed down with a latte and a tea. Staff were very polite and attentive. We would love to visit again and would also recommend others to do the same.

Whilst staying in the beautiful village of Wedmore we decided to walk around the village and find somewhere nice to stop for tea and cake. The pumpkin looked popular and had a good selection of cakes on offer. The cakes we had (mine in pic is a lemon and almond tart my partner had pecan pie) where yummy and our tea and coffee were fine. However the service and staff left us feeling a little downbeat. There were not many smiles or friendly chat made. We chose to sit outside as a nice day which was great for people watching and the addition of blankets being provided added to the charm. Just wish the staff could have been a little more friendly as expected in a little village cafe

The accompanying beetroot salad and lentils complimented them perfectly. My wife confirmed hers was equally nice.

Our sandwiches and coffee were very nice, but the experience was spoiled by the way that two older ladies were treated when they entered the premises. They went to an empty table to be told by a member of staff that it was taken. The ladies were using walking sticks and were a little infirm. They were very polite and went outside not knowing what to do. We had finished our lunch so told them they could have our table, they were very grateful and I felt sorry they were treated so badly in the first place. From the start they were very accommodating with menu choices, suiting a group of 17 including vegans and vegetarians. When the evening arrived, two lovely Pumpkin ladies came to the house and prepared the most delicious meal for us - and served wonderfully. We had both starters and mains and it felt such a treat to have such a lovely waitress in the house! The food lasted us a couple of days as the portions were so generous. Decided to call into the Pumpkin for lunch with my mum and my 4 year old. Walked in and had a look at what was on offer and made a choice while stood at the deli counter. Ten minutes later and still waiting we decided to go elsewhere! No acknowledgement that we were even there! The 5 staff on duty were not interested in serving but more concerned with pfaffing about with take away orders from the counter. The cafe should have either a seperate counter or table service to solve this issue. It wasn't even busy! The prices we now know were expensive, £5.25 for a sandwich. The reason we know this is we decided to eat at The Swan a few seconds walk away.....much better service at a far better price!!! Use The Swan car park and go there!

Pumpkin used to be brilliant, expensive but made you feel like you were treating yourself. Now it seems like the service and food have lost their sparkle so yu just feel like you are being ripped off.It seems to have lost its way and identity under it new ownership. Been in twice and come out empty handed due to the lack of knowledge and helpfulness of staff...

We called in for a sandwich and coffee, Thought we would have a cheese, coleslaw and horseradish roll that was in the counter, but decided against this at £3.75 to take away or £4.50 to eat in this I decided, was a bit pricey for a small roll We had the lemon tart and coffee these were good. The premises and goodies behind counter all looked tasty..

Nice coffee. Fab lunch (broccoli & Stilton soup and the Ardennes pâté). Great value. Particularly enjoyed the ambience!

We are in Wedmore every month as the teenager is training in Somerset. Been in here twice now and the coffee is fab and the cake to die for. Eclectic shop the kind you look at and want to run yourself very homely. Will be in again next month - it also helps with the husband as Wedmore has a number of wonderful dress shops so I can always placate the husband after a spend with a coffee!

Popped in here 1 30 ish on a Wednesday on the spur of the moment. We tried the chilli dish of the day and sweet potato and red pepper soup. Former comes with a huge chunk of fresh bread and latter with a warm cheese scone. The salads looked great and would have tried one but we had been in the cold for quite a while and wanted to warm up. Friendly and welcoming, clearly lots if locals eating there. With two drinks it came to 14 quid good value for the quality of food. It is also a deli so spent quite a bit on goodies after the meal - be warned, it can be an expensive visit if you can't resist...

We recently visited this super coffee shop and deli and had some delicious food and excellent coffee. It's situated in the pretty Somerset village of Wedmore and is a great place to catch up with friends in a lovely welcoming environment. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and really gave us service with a smile. The shop is packed full of wonderful goodies and the brownies are to die for!

Went to Pumpkin for lunch on Monday 23rd September. It wasn't our first visit so I was surprised by the unfriendly atmosphere when we went to order our food. "Menus are on the tables" was barked at us, as we were trying to look at the daily specials board. Having ordered form the menu, when the waitress brought our food there was no smile when she put the plates down, rather firmly, on our table. The food itself was good which was a small consolation, though not much as we had taken the day off to celebrate our anniversary and we'd been looking forward to a pleasant lunch. We felt thoroughly unwelcome so decided to cut short our visit. We had planned to stay for dessert/cake and coffee and buy some items in the shop. We paid the bill for our lunch and left and we won't be back in a hurry. In the garden there's a board asking customers for their support for Pumpkin to win an award, which in the circumstances, was a touch ironic.

I have been to this little coffee bar a few times. The coffee was great and food lovely. The tables out the front are a good place to sit Waitresses were pleasant. Only problem we had last time which was no reflection on the owners but as we sat outside with our visitor, every few minutes a huge truck with cow slurry drove past. The trucks drove very quickly and the noise made it impossible to speak. This went on for 20 minutes so we left. The smell was awful. I wouldn't let it stop me going here altogether but it was a bit disappointing for our visitor who till then had been quite taken with Wedmore which is a lovely village otherwise.

Visited on a lunch time and had the best bowl of chilli I've had in a very long time. Also the millionaires shortbread was incredibly good. Lovely seating bit out the back, papers to read, staff very friendly. Wish they were open in the evening.

Lovely place for lunch on a wet May day when the weather should have been better. Range of excellent salads and quiches, plus other tempting goodies on the menu. Well worth a visit and close to some great shops. Will definitely call again

A great find in Wedmore. Lovely delicatessan, and very pleasant tearoom. We enjoyed a jacket potato, and the service was good and timely. The food on display was tempting too! We managed not to buy too many bits! There is a large outside sheltered garden, where you could sit and watch the world and his wife go by in fine weather. Winners of several "good food" awards.

Great find in this wonderul village! Lisa and her team are always on hand to suggest something new to try. We visit a few times a week and the place is always busy. Their chocolate brownies are heavenly and I am looking forward to some warmer weather this summer to make the use of the garden out front!

Considering they have a shop full of cakes, snacks and doughnuts they have nothing available in their cafe. A full commercial kitchen doing nothing There’s a reason why we were 1 if 3 tables sat in there as there’s no hot food and such a poor selection of snacks and cakes available it’s pointless having the cafe open!!

Dreadful food beef that you couldn’t cut let alone chew. Expensive Sunday roast very small and horrid. Coffee tasted of hot water. Because I couldn’t eat my beef they kindly refunded me £1.80. I would advise you to avoid however the bar is great so are the staff.

We had an amazing Sunday lunch! The beef was tender and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. There was an alternative selection to roast dinner on the menu also. My Husband chose the fish and chips which he said was amazing.

Very pleasant lady serving, food very fresh, good selection, and what a lovely sandwich. Eaten on the promenade at Burnham on sea.
