¡No comas aquí!

Walked out the door of my boutique hotel and the first eatery I spied was Wetherspoons not my kind of establishment but the menus seemed ok and a reasonable price. The establishment spread over three floors and I had a good look around. I settled on the top floor and found myself really warming to the place. Got a pint and sirloin with fries served promptly and exactly to my taste. Cost is not a deal breaker but at under £10 I could not believe the price and the quantity of food was excellent. Great buzz about with all ages catered for, staff were polite and efficient. Menus clean and well laid out, surprisingly no mention of the establishment on literature. I will be back there tomorrow Wetherspoons is now my kind of establishment.

A huge pub with well over 100 tables , visited on a wednesday evening and it was absolutely packed out . Quick service at the bar and ordering food . The food took approx 40 mins to arrive and was excellent , hot and delicious. This place runs like clockwork and is very clean and well looked after . there is a nice seating area outside the front where we finished our drinks to allow others to use our table. after our meals were delivered a lady put a 'call back' lable on our table , within 4 mins another waitress on seeing this picked up the lable and checked if everything was ok with our meals . very efficient and well run , congratulations to all staff , you are doing a brilliant job.

On a family visit to Newcastle we came across this pub. My experience of this chain is that it is good value but there are always some issues with service or food. In this case everything was perfect. I commend the staff for excellent service and hope more Wetherspoons follow this example. Well done all concerned.

Passing time in Newcastle I stumbled into the place as I need the loo but felt it only fair that I have a drink. It's a big place pleasantly busy in the afternoon and close to the quayside and the Tyne Bridge. Usual Wetherspoons fare so food and drink is basic but of decent standard and at great prices. Nice outdoor seating area which was nice on a warm humid afternoon

A group of 12 of us came here to eat on the quayside on a friday night... it was very busy and we struggled to find somewhere to sit.. 3 members of our party had mobility problems and couldnt manage the stairs to go upstairs where there was additional seating. After finding spaces sometime later we all had a wonderful meal. The food was hot, plentyful and tasty.

We were running late, and wondering if we would have to resort to takeaway but then Wetherspoons were here to save the day. A lot of restaurants that advertise that they serve until a certain time give you the evil eye if you arive in the last half hour, but we arrived at 10.45pm, 15 minutes before food was supposed to end and we were greeted and treated with a pleasant and helpful attitude by the staff here. The food was fairly ordinary pub fare, but it did what it said on the tin, was fresh, hot and there when we needed it. Chefs and restaurants that stop serving at 9pm take note - this is the future!!

Visited on Friday Dec 11 th, pub was very busy with lunchtime diners and drinkers. Fish and chips special was just over £5.50 and it was delicious. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient , it was particularly busy and quite noisy due to what I assume was a Xmas party on the upper floor, but was only to be expected at the time.

I am a fairly tolerant person but what I do not like are establishments where the staff treat the customers as a necessary or even unnnecessary evil.Such was our experience going to Wetherspoons in the centre of Newcastle. We went for lunch after assessing which of a large number of restaurants to choose from.We went in and basically the girl behind the bar was so miserable and grumpy and off hand and rude that it was a case of us feeling that we must apologise for having the temerity to go into the pub to ask for service. Frankly if it is so bad best you close. So we have a suggestion - get the staff in ready for the next session and then lock the doors to ensure that customers don't get in. I feel sure that your staff satisfaction will increase significantly. Who wants customers anyway? We only had a pint each and then left. In fairness the beer was okay. We lunched at a competitor's premises where we spent over £50.

Me and my partner go to spoons quite often as they are cheap and quick so ideal when we are in a rush. I nearly always order the mixed grill or the large mixed grill. I had sent my partner to the bar to order food (mixed grill) and when the food had got to me which was quick the steak had been undercooked. I ate round the steak waiting for the waiter to ask if everything was ok and I was going to ask if they could cook the steak slightly longer but they never came. In the end I was sick of waiting and i ate it anyways. Other than this it was a pleasant meal and everything else was cooked quite nice.Would recommend going but suggest the staff take care of their customers a bit more

overcooked steak. I always eat at wetherspoons as it is inexpensive and quality is not bad, but on this occasion the steak which I asked for medium, was quite over cooked, as it was 10:30pm I wasn't going to complain so just ate and left, I will be back but maybe not order steak next time.

The security are rude, arrogant and aggressive. They are basically bullies. The staff are quite rude and the customers are chavvy. There are plenty of other, nicer places for a quick drink. I won't go there ever again. I understand the place needs security but try targeting the actual people who deserve it.

Having seen an array of different dining experiences from all over the world, we were going to try something adventurous. However, a man at TK Maxx recommended Weatherspoons as somewhere that served quality but affordable food, and he couldn't have been more right! The steak was one of the best I've ever had, and to get a free drink of my choice as part of the price was the `icing on the cake' - it made the meal even cheaper than it was already!!

visited this bar with a friend who lives in Newcastle, the setting was great as it was a nice day so we sat in the courtyard! The staff were all so grumpy!! When we tried to get served at the bar (all three times) the bar staff seemed to be oblivious to who was waiting to be served- it caused a few cross words!! Come on guys get a grip this is the first thing bar staff are taught to click who's waiting to avoid bad feeling!!!

Visited on 26th 27th and 28th of March, staff were very friendly and efficient, especially Joe who was working the upstair bar on Sunday morning, food was served very quickly even though the pub was full, was nice and hot and very good quality. Value for money is excellent ( where else can you get an excellent pint of Guinness for £2.35 ). Lovely setting looking out over the Tyne, will certainly use again when we next visit Newcastle.

I am a big fan of Wetherspoon's pubs and generally try to seek one out on my travels in the UK. Newcastle has at least 4 and we visited 2 directly opposite the Royal Station Hotel. One was more of a drinkers pub and the other more a diners. We had both breakfast, dinner and a drink and as usual the quality was great and all round good value for money

this review is actually for the five swans wetherspoons pub in newcastle.visited for breakfast, ordered two, first told there were no mushroom, would i like extra black pudding instead, which i agreed to, only to be told that there was no black pudding either, would i like something else, agreed on extra sausage, they duly arrived, one was the wrong meal and the other one was cold. having sent the wrong meal back my partner did not want to cause any fuss and ate her cold breakfast.mine arrived later, (defeats he object of dining together), and half of that was cold too.by this point my patience had been broken, and i returned my meal for a refund.i received no apology, was not even given an excuse, simply a shrug of the shoulders.i followed up my complaint with wetherspoons customer "service", and to date, after two formal complaints, have received no reply.wetherspoons undoubtedly have some lovely pubs, and some very good value for money menus, but if its not backed up with half decent service and, at the very least, food that is served hot, then everything else they do is a waste of time.i personally will not return there, and would advise others to be wary of where you spend your money and what you hope to get for it.

We visited for lunch as it is close to my husband's work and we were short of time. It was just noon but the place was already heaving and we were lucky to find a seat. The menu was pretty standard for a Wetherspoon's but there were also some great special deals. We had a burger and drink offer for £3.99 which we thought was a remarkable price. Service was quick and the food was tasty and the portion size plenty big enough.Coming from Scotland, we marvelled at the price we paid for a decent lunch and only wished that more places north of the border would realise that these sort of prices would fill their premises in these difficult financial times!

This restaurant is a part of the big J.D. Wetherspoons chain. So you will get the same menu as anywhere else. I like their burger+beer offers. You can get a tasty burger with bacon, onion rings and chips on the side for lees than 7 pounds. It is nothing fancy, but you will get what you paid for. The only coin is that they don´t cover big soccer matches on TVs.

Had high hopes for brunch at Eve but was a bit disappointed. We were seated straight away by a friendly young man. Probably sat for about 15-20 minutes without anyone approaching us for our order. I managed to get the hosts attention and he took the order for us. Seemed like there was a lot of staff but most of them lingered round the bar area. Saying that, their uniforms were odd, some were dressed in jeans/tshirts/aprons but none of them co ordinated so not always easy to identify who worked there and who didn’t. Pancakes were £11, were quite a small portion so not enough to fill you up. The live music was good but I’m not really sure it suited the vibe.

We called into this café on our way to The Great Northern Museum. We ordered two coffees at the counter, but when we came to pay, we were told that cash was not accepted. This is a practice that we find quite deplorable so we left. It turned out well for us, because there was a café a few doors down which was very good and accepts cash.
