This place is a triple threat! Amazing coffee, truly outstanding service, and a bakery selection that will make your mouth water. I can't recommend this spot enough. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or a leisurely brunch, you won't be disappointed. Five stars all the way!

Great vibe. Good coffee. Pastries delicious and staff are lovely. Glad to find out finally names of staff to commend - particularly Melanie and Jess. Somehow when they're on I always end up with something delicious they've recommended!! Dog loves it too!

Wow! What a great spot. Cakes were amazing, especially the banana bread (we were lucky to be offered a little free sample first). Menu is really good, not overwhelming. Plenty of space, doesn’t feel claustrophobic. Parking is a bit of an issue , limited street parking so bear this in mind - but don’t let it put you off!

My family and I went to Public for our first visit this morning for breakfast. My daughter & I had the weekend brunch, absolutely lovely food & really efficient service. Such a nice place and had a browse in the shop areas. We will be back soon for another visit, thank you!

We like coming here and the coffee is good however the food portions are inconsistent. This is particularly a problem when they are busy - the smoked salmon was good but it would be hard to justify the £7.50 for the portion and single slice of toast. Cakes are good. More consistency is needed.

This review is for the newly opened shop in Mountsorrel. I have just been in to order 2 coffees, a portobello mushroom sandwich and a beef pastrami sandwich. How disappointing and utterly disgustingly priced for what you get. The Instagram photos show sandwiches with a good hearty amount of filling. The 2 slithers of beef pastrami I got was cheap packet pastrami and for £9! The portobello mushroom sandwich had about 7 mini mushrooms inside.. I was expecting the mushrooms to at least be sliced and well seasoned. Don’t be fooled by the Instagram aesthetics and interior. All the money in opening this cafe has gone into being “Instagram-able”. Style over substance unfortunately. If this gets fed back to the chef/cook and the sandwiches are made to match the Instagram photos, I’ll come back for sure. 2 stars given overall as the staff were friendly and coffee was decent

This review is for the newly opened Mountsorrel branch. We've been to the Loughborough one many times and always had very positive experiences. Maybe teething troubles here but they've also messed around with the long established Brunch menu and it wasn't as good. A few of the highlights of the former brunch menu were the chorizo (proper, not slices from a packet), halloumi and chili jam. All gone from the Mountsorrel offering, chorizo replaced with a few bits of crispy pancetta / thin streaky bacon. No replacement or alternative for the others. Maybe the chorizo and halloumi weren't popular, it's not like they're obscure artisan hard to find ingredients. Don't get me wrong, what we did have (full brunch for me, full veggie brunch for my friend - see the menu) was perfectly nice enough but for £12.50 you'd expect it to be. I hope Public isn't resting on its laurels because just down the road there is the wonderful Rustic Kitchen and in Loughborough there is a huge amount of choice, notably Goodliffe's.

We visited today at lunchtime. It’s always encouraging to see a place full of customers and we chose to wait a few minutes until a table became free. We had a coffee each and a lasagne each, which was served with granary bread and salad. The food was tasty and nicely presented.

We popped in for a quick bite to eat on Saturday as we were doing some local shopping. As it was a sunny day, the few seats outside were taken, but we managed to get a table inside. Service was friendly and helpful and as soon as I discovered the quiche was homemade, I just had to try it. I chose the individual cheese and caramelised onion quiche. It was delicious! A lovely little independent cafe!
