We stopped here for drinks only on a Saturday night out in Macclesfield. Friendly bar staff. Drinks were excellent. The bar was busy but we were served quickly.

We recently celebrated our child’s 7th birthday at the Bate Hall, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The venue was accommodating, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the room set up. The food was another highlight. The staff offered a thoughtful menu that pleased the kids. Overall, Bate Hall provided a fantastic environment for our celebration. The space was clean, safe, and perfectly suited for a kids’ party, with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy themselves. We received so many compliments from the parents about the venue and the wonderful time they had at the bar enjoying drinks, food and playing pool! I highly recommend Bate Hall for any children's event. Their outstanding service and lovely food make it a top choice for a memorable and hassle-free party. Special thanks to Sue & Dale

The roast dinner at the bate hall pub was a culinary delight. The roast beef was perfectly cooked, tender, and paired wonderfully with a flavourful Yorkshire pudding. The assortment of roasted vegetables added a delightful touch, and the rich gravy enhanced the overall experience. The cozy pub atmosphere complemented the hearty meal, making it a satisfying and memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for those seeking a traditional and well-executed roast dinner.

I was in yesterday evening at the same time as the man on the last review drinking with my partner who was drinking the same lager from the same pump..... There was nothing wrong with it at all..... The man was rude and obnoxious to the landlord and barstaff..... Its a shame because they are really friendly and always happy to help customers ensuring you are satisfied with the service. I will definitely be back.....

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my annoying requests to visit the haunted the staircase! They were busy getting ready for 3 functions that evening. Still made time to chat and indulge us. Lovely place will be going back again on my next visit to Macclesfield.

What a disgusting lndlord for a town pub 3 times I had to take my pint back to the bar due to being flat. Then the landlord had to showt across the pub to say we've been serving beer alll day. Very abusive and nasty landlord who doesn't accept customers. Will never visit again qnd would recomm end that you don't..

We had a very positive experience at The Bate Hall Pub in Macclesfield! The cleanliness and welcoming staff contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. We really enjoyed the delicious food, with the lasagne and roast beef dinners standing out as our favourites with plenty of choice on beers and their selections on wine. If you’re seeking tasty food and an inviting dining experience then this pub ticks all those boxes.

Fabulous Sunday lunch and at £13.95 for a 2 course home cooked roast dinner what’s not to love! Service was excellent, the whole place was spotlessly clean and fresh. One of our party had food allergies and this was accommodated with no fuss or issue. Highly recommended!

This grand old establishment deserves a bit of good publicity. Situated in the heart of town. Its clean has a nice menu, large beer garden and the drinks and food are far from overpriced.

The Bate Hall has recently been taken over by a lovely local couple. We attended a friends 50th birthday party which was fabulous. The place was spotless, lovely clean toilets. Front and back bar both open serving full drinks service. The buffet provided was excellent, lovely and fresh with a great choice to suit all taste buds and dietary preferences. The back room has been completely set up for hosting private functions and weddings and with a super large beer garden in the sun, this is a perfect town centre traditional pub perfect for any occasion. Great food, great service, beautiful historical pub, and a fab landlord and landlady.

Called in on a pub crawl, beer was very average and the place looked a tad grubby. The smell in the toilets was awful. Hopefully the smell is only a short term issue.y

I’m a wheelchair user and sometimes find it hard to actually get into pubs whilst I’m out with friends. I thought this was going to be the case when I got to The Bate Hall last night but they couldn’t have been more helpful. They quickly put a ramp down for me and even made me an easy path to the bathroom. Brilliant people and thankyou for making my night so much easier x

The Yellow Broom is best described as a blend of pure elegance with a splash of sophistication. The setting is undeniably beautiful, complemented by a warm welcome from the staff, who are clearly well-trained in delivering exceptional silver service. The menu offers a well-balanced selection of cuisine, ensuring there's something to delight every palate. The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of exquisite, and the flavors were simply delightful. The staff were remarkably attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. The atmosphere and layout of the restaurant were both appealing and comfortable, enhancing the overall dining experience. The Yellow Broom is a truly first-class establishment that consistently maintains high standards. I highly recommend a visit—you will not be disappointed.

Really good, freshly-cooked pub food. Decent beers, friendly service and reasonable prices. Lovely old-school, generous puddings too. The menu choice is limited but if that ensures everything is fresh and of a high quality then that's fine by us. Had a great evening meal here with the family and would certainly visit again.
