Nice friendly cafe in gravesend. Its very dated inside and the concrete tables and chairs are not the most comfortable but the service inside is very good.a nice traditional cafe with good views of the Thames.worth a visit for a coffee and a cake.

Always a friendly welcome, great food at reasonable prices, with great views of the river. Had a fish and chip meal that had very large portions and freshly cooked fish. Included bread and butter but no drink. Great value at £8.50. Have introduced this place to many friends over the years, and it never ceases to amaze. Date of visit: June 2024

What a fab "old time" cafe. Loved the aged american style plush seats (very comfy). Ham, egg and chips, with bread and butter... a classic.

Wonderful family owned cafe! The staff are brilliant and can’t do enough to help. Lovely cup of hot chocolate when it’s a bit chilly out and you can’t go wrong with one of their ice creams in the summer. Highly recommend!

Great cafe in a great location. Reasonably priced and the food was great. Loved the cooked breakfast well worth the money and great value! Can’t wait to go back and try the different flavours of the ice creams there. They look yummy 😋 my only problem will be what flavour to choose!!!

Went to our Sade place in Gravesend guaranteed lovely food and service the breakfast was great as usual and the kids had Kelly’s Cornish ice cream fur after they absolutely loved it see you in a few weeks cheers

Awful coffee, filth dirty place inside and out, server not enthusiastic, touched rims of cups. Wont go again coffee was undrinkable. Place dirty. Lady toughed rims of cups. Non friendly. Slow service

Never let’s me down or the family beautiful food and great service all set in a great park right in the waterfront me and the wife had full English and it was exceptional quality and loads of it my kids had burger and chips one beef one chicken all enjoyed it and after we had ice cream it was lovely

Had a walk down the prom today we stopped off at the cafe and had a meal it was lovely had a few before and it was great again both had toasted sandwiches and cheesy chips with a chocolate milkshake and Kelly’s ice cream for a treat to walk along the river thank you to all the staff it was lovely treat

Disgusting I ordered a chicken burger and within the first bite knew that something was off when I turn the burger around the back of the burger was covered in green mold after that I didn’t eat for hours worst experience I’ve ever had.

I Think its ok but needs a revap knocked down and rebuilt make it a nice Country looking like Dartfords cafe!! And it needs a space on the front of the green, a splash play park, like Dartford be really nice for all kids and family. Has it is the only main biggest park really. Who agrees?? 😊😉

Stopped here for a hot chocolate and was served by a friendly member of staff and our drinks were made quickly and were great. Sat outside and watched the world go by. Varied menu and reasonable prices.

Food was nice. Service was lovely and the vibe was just nice. Got the egg, bacon and sausage sandwich with orange juice and loved it

Yesterday I was with my 86 year old sister in a wheelchair, my 32 week pregnant daughter , 3 children under 5 and my nephew and his wife at the cafe. My nephew had just purchased food from the cafe while the kids played in the park. The heavens opened and there was a huge downpour! My daughter grabbed the kids and went into the cafe to shelter and was told to get out as they were closing! Those were the words used! The staff closed the doors and literally were watching us all get soaked while they were inside! While I understand they had probably had a long day where was the compassion for my elderly sister sitting in a wheelchair soaked to the bone and the kids! It costs nothing to be kind in this world something that is clearly lacking from the staff in the cafe yesterday! I won’t be returning.

A good place who provide a very friendly and sometimes amusing experience. I bought a hot chocolate and it was delicious. On a cold day it's an oasis to get a light bite and a hot drink. They also do a good selection of delicious ice-cream. My friend said that the coffee was equally delicious. We have come here a few times and have never been disappointed. They sell all manner of things but I unfortunately did not browse as I just wanted a drink. Would certainly recommend this place. When we were there it was busy and it's very family friendly. Beside this cafe is a gents and ladies toilet.

The full breakfast for my son was huge, and the smallest just right for me. Fun, helpful staff made it a good experience. I'd be happy to go again. They don't mind if you want to swop items from the standard menu.

Cant beat the prom cafe for any meal of the day ice cream is fantastic i take mt dog down to the prom have a walk and then 1/3 pounder with chips. I love it.x

Whilst queuing up, it became clear that despite there being a lot of staff working, they were not particularly motivated. This was evident from the "cook" eating whilst flipping sausages and licking her fingers. She then was cleaning her nails over the grill. In the circumstances we decided not to eat there and left (as did a couple in front of us). On a positive, they sell good ice creams and Golden Wonder crisps. Although it says vegan options on the Trip Advisor profile, none were expressly stated and I suspect it means veggie burger and chips (which I doubt are cooked separate to the meat).

As a regular everyday customer the promenade cafe is an excellent friendly cafe, serving a huge variety of Kelly's ice creams, lollies, all day breakfasts. They also sell swan and duck food which is great for feeding the swans on the lake and the river. Sundays junior park run takes place for children ages 4-14 for a timed 2km run round the prom which takes place outside the promenade cafe so getting that coffee and breakfast you dont have to go too far for refreshments.

A member of staff was rude to me. I asked for a ice cream cone to be served in a paper napkin. It was served with bare hands. I am still worried about covid a don't want my mum to get infected.

Lovely cafe , nice and clean and plenty of selection on drinks and the staff are lovely and helpful.

Staff were rude, unhygienic (observed staff blow nose and not wash hands - continue to serve customers ice creams!) and angry - (treated other customers with complete disrespect) It really was literally one of the worst places I have had the displeasure to go to.

Thank god the promenade cafe is back open and we can sit on the patio tables and eat our breakfast we do love the bacon and egg rolls in the morning while watching the ships on the river our favourite spot in Gravesend we love it 😍

Another great morning down the promenade at gravesend first we fed the swans and ducks then sat on the now opened patio and ate our breakfast with a couple of hot chocolates the bacon and mushroom rolls were top top draw see you soon

The owners have got it right plenty sanitizers all takeaway have to stand outside separate well done been coming here for over 30 years I love it the best HOT CHOC anywhere and love there bacon rolls keep up the good work for the next 30 years in the SAFEST CLEANEST FRIENDLIEST Place in GRAVESEND

Its nice here but it feels unsafe due to the degenerates that hang around definitely wouldnt visit when even slightly dark

Visited today for takeaway breakfast two sausage & egg rolls + two teas price £12.00. Good service & great rolls no complaints very tasty. Please try this unique place, great value.

A gorgeous seaside-style cafe overlooking the Thames. Beautiful out look. Really cheap food, well cooked - 2 large plates of scampi, chips, peas, buttered bread and coffee for £11.00. Friendly, warm staff. Will definitely be going back. Public toilets outside.

Lovely staff. Dreadful coffee. Cappuccino described as 'posh' is cheap instant coffee with hot milk poured over it. Looks like they have a nice selection of ice cream for summer

As always a great cafe in unique central location. Grab yourself tasty a kelly's ice cream milkshake topped with candy floss.

For an ice cream lover this is heaven at least 30 flavours and today I had one of their shakes honeycomb and candy floss was un believable the best shake I've ever had as thick as cement and topped wth fresh cream wowed!!

At the Promenade Cafe at the Riverview Park, best and high quality service you will find. I highly recommend their chicken and beef burgers with the cheese, onions and mushroom toppings. Yummy yummy. Don’t forget to order the Chilli Concarne fries or the Cheese and fries. Go there and you won’t leave. Don’t forget to buy the swan feed too :)Thank you Promenade Cafe team.

All food is freshly cooked, the menu varied, staff are pleasant and helpful. The ice cream selection is out of this world. No better place for a cuppa and of course their bacon sandwiches !

The best view in Gravesend a fantastic plate of Ham Egg and Chips on the patio while watching ocean liners and tug boats floating on the Thames absolute heaven in Summertime and don’t forget the Ice cream it’s Kelly’s simply the Best my new favourite is pistachio and candy floss in a tub with a flake and bubble gum sauce sounds weird but tastes like Heaven Simply Gravesends Finest Spot !!

The only thing going for it is that it is on the prom and has out side seating, good ice cream but I think it expensive,has a child's play area next to it run by the Council

Smells like an old-fashioned cafe, looks like an old-fashioned cafe, IS an old-fashioned cafe. You know what you’re going to get. Tea in a mug with hot water from an urn, eggs fried how you like them on bloomer toast, gin flavoured rock, ice creams and cheap sweets. Decor made entirely out of plastic - bright, chaotic and fun, cheerful young staff. What more do you want.

Grandchildren enjoyed there afternoon walking along the Thames. A restful break with a much needed snack. I felt good value for money. Nice play area children in view while I enjoyed a much needed coffee

Forget Asda or ropey ice cream vans this place serves up the best ice creams and milkshakes outside of London it's all Kelly's flavours which are by a country mile the best around hope the heatwave last all summer it's what the Thames was built for

Visited here with our grandchildren whilst they were visiting,. The food is excellent quality and the portions are plenty.Prices are very good and service was quick despite being busy. Would recommend this cafe

Very horrible food, akin to a low grade burger van at extortionate prices, £1.20 for a can of drink, £1.50 for a bottle of pepsi. Disgusting, poor competence of staff and again i cannot stress enough extremely low quality of food. I can honestly say i would rather have gone hungry than have eaten here.

Still the best cafe with the best staff beautiful views of the Thames and the good is always hot and fresh and to day their ice cream is amazing is understatement Kelly's all the way from Cornwall with some fantastic flavours

We regularly go for breakfast at this cafe because the bacon and egg sandwich is amazing! Also, our kids love the ice cream, which is much better in taste and value than the nearby branded ice cream parlour!

I went in for a coffee and a look around as I had been here many years before and the layout was basically still the same. They had the typical menu for adults and children. Good old banngers and mash and the like. There were workmen and holiday makers having food or drinks.

My kids love it here, the kids lunch menu is great, it’s a great spot to boat watch as well, I’ve always been surprised why it’s not busier. The Kelly’s Ice creams are fab.

Always loved this place and this years got even better with some amazing flavours and even peanut butter magnums never had one before was stunning let this summer be long and hot down by the Thames at Gravesend

Family of 6 first order was ice cream , no wonder the queues were long ! The ice cream is delicious and a crazy selection of flavours . Food wise it's ok, better than average for effectively a park cafe , but average for these places is not great . Service is good and pretty fast . Not worth a 5 or a 4 but certainly not bad. It serves it's purpose .

As a Day Centre, we love to take our clients down to the prom for some fresh air and a bit of reminiscence, and we visit quite regularly. We like to treat them to an ice cream but unfortunately the cafe's ice cream is quite expensive and the owners are not very pleasant or accommodating. Will be giving this a miss in future and taking our own ice creams and sit on the benches, such a shame when most of our clients have happy memories of the café on the prom.

Cafe open in season. Been visiting here on and off for years. The staff are friendly and there's a large area for seating inside and out. Has a seaside feel to it, great for an ice cream on a summer's day.

Visited the prom Thursday morning for the blowing up of the chimneys and luckily the cafe was open at 7am! Lovely to see Commitment and early mornings for us loyal customers! Popped into this little gem of a cafe with a few friends from school, all of us love our food and have got to say we loved it. I had chilli cheese fries, the chilli was home made and fresh from the butchers that day, one of the best I’ve had my friend had buffalo bites, and sister had a no6 breakfast all was delicious massive portions and the staff were so friendly and jolly. Overall we loved it and will be coming back weekly!!

Just watched the tilbury power station chimneys blown up was a great sight to see with all the family and after went in the cafe and had good old fry up the very very best in gravesend bacon and sausages outstanding love it

Located just a short walk from Gravesend's oldest building, and next to both the River Thames and Riverside Leisure Park, the Promenade Cafe is in a prime position. Sadly we had just eaten before finding this place, and only had Ice Creams.

This unassuming venue on Gravesend promenade serves delicious, well priced food. We greatly enjoyed our generous portions of freshly cooked traditional English breakfasts. There were a variety of options to choose from and staff were happy to accommodate individual variations from the listed menu. Service was friendly and unpretentious. I will definitely be returning soon.

What can I say? Its a great place to get to for time out from stresses of life. Its located by the river thames in gtavesend kent at the gravesend riverside. The staff are friendly and are supportive. If your a regular such as myself the staff recognise their regulars. The staff are have been supportive as they take great care and make great food. You will find new additional specials added and are tasty. The ham special that is ham, 2 eggs, chips with bread and butter which is a filling meal to have for a good price of £5. The beverages are great prices. I go for large tea which is £1.50. They have 2 sizes of beverages regular and large. The buffalo jumbo chicken bites i would recommend. It comes with a special spicy sauce. I requested it without the sauce. You can request to have some cooked differently as the staff who work there are caring they be able to upon request have something cooked differently. Example rather have runny eggs have them cooked all the way through. They be more than happy to do so. I am proud to visit this cafe as they make a great team to who serve its customers with care. They also make an excellent bread pudding. Each slice £1.50. They do a wide variety of ice creams at great prices. They do some different flavoured stick of rock. This cafe has come a long way in 32 years. Ive found this cafe a great place to get away from stress. You have a choice to ait outside or inside. It is a peaceful place to get away to.

We popped in on a day trip to Gravesend and although the place was fairly busy the food arrived in a timely manner and was freshly cooked. Staff were friendly and I really liked the fact that there is a reserved area for disabled diners where the tables are spaced to allow wheelchair access. It is years since i've had crinkle cut chips and they were delicious, especially with the chili sauce provided on the tables. The view across the river is also a good draw especially in the good weather

Always love a lunch on promenade at gravesend in this retro style cafe on the Thames side but has now even got better with the introduction of home style crinkle cut chips like what my nanna used to create for us as kids I had a beautiful thick cut ham egg and crinkle chips and our friends had the crinkle chips covered in chilli con carne and grated cheese it looked luscious,gonna try that next time

Started going here 3 weeks ago on a Thursday with my group of disabled clients. Our usual venue is being decorated during the summer. The Prom Cafe is lovely, food excellent and service with a smile. Situated in a beautiful area with magnificent views.

Well today again a lovely day on the promenade with the in laws feeding the swans and ducks on the lake then went in cafe all had bacon sandwiches and a couple of baguettes as well was cram packed with meat and real and I mean real hip sauce not burger van brown water and all came back late afternoon after walking round fort had their Cornwall ice creams " candy floss flavour " really tasty thanks again

Another excellent breakfast at the Promenade Cafe Sunday morning. It's so lovely to see the youngsters working hard, all smiling, getting on together and doing a fabulous job. Another 5 star recommendation for this lovely cafe on the promenade.

Tried this cafe for the first time today. Not busy when we arrived but it took almost half an hour for two toasted sandwiches. Has a Trip Advisor rating of 5 from 2013. I think someone should go back and rate again because it was certainly not worthy of a 5. Sandwiches we served on plastic plates and we're not worth what we paid for them. Very very disappointed.

Last Sunday took my aunt and uncle from Dorset down to the promenade cafe for a breakfast before their long trip home and they absolutely loved it all opting for a set breakfast all named after gravesham hot spots but I have forgot what they were even so ate every last morsel and our niece had a mountain of USA style pancakes with syrup I'm sure she licked the plate too never fails and thanks for proving us right to bring down the family they also made up some crusty ham salad rolls for the journey too and I'm sure they were great too thanks again

A cold bank holiday morning warmed up by a huge full English had the "Pocahontas" was ginormous and tasted fantastic too
