Was disappointed that we arrived at 5:30 booked table we ordered a starter before football started which was fine . Come half time of football which was before 9pm and no food. Kitchen closed at 8 pm which we wasn’t told about and only could offer crisp or peanuts from behind bar . Other customers also wanted food. Very disappointed

First of all it was very cold in the pub, not exactly the warmest day when we visited yesterday. I had to ask twice for a door directly behind us to be shut which it was, then left open by other staff members - very uncomfortably cold in your pub. Tacky pop music greeting you as you enter - why is there a need for any music at all? First course of humous and bread - bread very hard and stale tasting, humous very garlicky. Main meal steak pie fine but doesn't really merit the hefty price tag as with the other dishes, on a parity with London, except not in London. People coming up to the table asking if we enjoyed the meal. Why? Are you not sure of your products? Do you not think people want privacy when they are eating? Embarrassing to be asked when you have a mouthful of food.

Good food at a reasonable price. Service excellent and friendly. Have been a number of times and never been disappointed. Once again an excellent Sunday roast.

There are no options for both a vegan and gluten free dish unless you count a side of chips or side of steamed broccoli. Everything that was vegan contained gluten. I expect better, at least one dish I could have ordered safely for myself. I ended up getting the vegan burger, which I guessed had the least amount of gluten in the dish, and it was both expensive and lackluster. I would not eat here again.

Very overpriced wine and food We had a lite bit which was extremely lite on content calamari and rocked salad The calamari was in small pieces not what you’d expect !!! Well never visit again

Went here with my daughter and grandchildren, absolutely beautiful, the service was brilliant, food was amazing. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend this pub, and we will use it again.

Nice enough. Not sure why they've ramped up their prices so much... the food isn't as good as it was a few years ago. Not sure I'd be back in a hurry unless it was just for drinks.

We booked for a triple 60th birthday celebration and upon invitation I did mention this when booking. I didn’t expect champagne and roses but to have the “any special requests?” completely ignored was poor. The food was generally good, although the calamari started was poor, but the service whilst polite was exceptionally slow. We sat down at 7:45 and main course didn’t arrive until after 9 pm. We did chase and apologies were given but as one of our party didn’t have a started they were pretty hungry when their main course eventually arrived. We have eaten at the Cricketers before and had better food and service. I will now think twice before recommending to friends again. Left feeling rather deflated and a little sad. .

Great service, booked a large party for my daughter inlaws baby shower. Cricketers were so helpful and kept me informed. Food and service was excellent. Helped to make the afternoon a special occasion

The lady running the bar is incredibly rude. We said we were in for drinks and wouldn’t be that long. She said we could sit at an unmade table near the bar. We sat down and a little while later she tells us we can’t sit there we have got a table of 5 booked now. I said for what time and she said 1.30. I pointed out it was 12.15 and we would be gone shortly and she relented . This is the fourth time this has happened to us by her and the South African gentlemen. It seems they are only interested in people that are eating. We had a table booked with family for later this month. This will now be cancelled. Avoid

The food was delicious, big hearty meals. The setting is lovely in cobham, and it's a lovely pub. Unfortunately, we felt we was an inconvenience to the lady who served us our food. Maybe she had lots on her mind, 🤔 other things she needed to do, but even when we paid the bill,it felt that she just wasn't interested. I'd still go there again, as the food was really nice.

Disappointing food which is very pricey. We were asked if everything was OK, but when we mentioned something that we weren't happy with it didn't go down that well. Won't return

Nice pub , decent pub food but VERY expensive drinks . And they throw in a hidden service charge on the bill .

Friendly local pub with a good selection of pub grub, including vegan fish and chips which went down well with the vegans on our table. Quite pricey at £40 per head though, with drinks.

Good level of parking at the restaurant with good access. We were greeted by good atmosphere as soon as we walked in. There was a nice clean feel when looking around and was sat down to our table quickly, we did book ahead as it was a Saturday night but there was still enough seating available. There was lots of seating indoors as well as outdoors. Food portions were good and tasted nice, it looked like the menu had been updated and printed daily which was different to what I had seen before. Overall nice experience and wasn’t a bad price for the two of us having three courses. I would highly recommend the chilli nachos as starter!

Lovely food, friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere.

Nice pub , friendly staff . Had three basic pub meals ( fish and chips etc ) which were nicely cooked and presented . A bit of a shock when recieving the bill though as along with one dessert , 2 pints of lager and a glass of wine came to over £90 . Drink prices are ridiculous.

Food was ok. Manager doesn’t really get customer service it’s fair to say. Better local pubs around where you get far better value for money and service.

I treated my friend to a birthday meal today ( Ive just got home ) Our food was superb. My burger was ont of the ebst Ive ever had and my friend really enjoyed her roast beef dinner. Dessert was devine, apple cinnamon cake nd two scoops ice cream. Brilliant customer service. We will be back. xxxxx

There is nothing special about The Cricketers. I had the scotch egg followed by fish and chips. The scotch egg was nearly £10 and obviously, a factory made dish. The fish looked nice until you cut into it and found it was very wet, indicating it was cooked from deep frozen, so also factory prepared. This pub is not cheap so I was expecting it better for the money. Add the expensive house wine and the 10% service charge it would be advisable to spend your money elsewhere.

Over priced wine and food several complains re food staff very pleasant would not return until they drop their prices for both food and definitely wine House wine £23 a bottle a joke

Absolutely appalled at being asked to vacate from our table after our mains had just arrived and desert hadn’t been served yet… Wasn’t told the table was only allocated for two hours which is fine.. but the food took an hour snd 15mins to be served after being ordered, desert hadn’t arrived before the manager was asking us all finish as he had other guests waiting.. Absolutely shocked by how the manager dealt with the situation… A very upset family… very unfortunate

Just had the most amazing experience at The Cricketers Inn for Mother’s Day. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful service, food and atmosphere. It was a perfect family meal.

Really nice place great food . The nachos starter is huge.

Visited as part of a group. We had booked but were squashed in on a long bench with no leg room. We had "spicy" vegetable soup which was absolutely tasteless, at £7.50 a bowl it was a complete waste of money.

The food was excellent, traditional English food. Lisa was extremely helpful and welcoming. Best pub food around this area, we will be coming back

Couldn't get a table at the White Hart Sevenoaks so thought we would try this out....big mistake! Just poor service all round topped off by a manager that just doesn't get customer service. Avoid. Much better service and food in Brunning & Price pubs.

Couldn’t love this place any more if we tried! The building is lovely… the staff and food are outstanding.

Most important - large car park, food is award standard, it's a nice place to be. Staff attentive, just found out it has just won best gastro pub in Southern England

Fantastic pub.... beautiful atmosphere, amazing food, brilliant service, really lovely attentive, friendly staff....vegan fish and chips a must....stand out home cooked food....very impressive overall...will be back for sure and highly recommend!!!

Beautiful environment with warming log fires throughout a real old fashioned feel. Staff ok but had to work at conversation. Breakfast nicely presented, excellent poached eggs. Bacon rock hard, bent my fork. Would have preferred less bread and a second sausage. £10 95 for breakfast. Just under £30 for two persons Inc a coffee each

Good food service and atmosphere

Food good , but omg I had to send two pints of real ale back, (different beers) both were off , second pont came up.with a head bigger than mine , clearly someone is not looking after them , I settled for a lager , rounded off the meal with a JD and dash of coke well the JD was drowned out with the amount of LEMONADE not coke as ordered, yes I was disappointed seems your staff are young and inexperienced,

We came here on Christmas day 2023 , a group of 13 people. We were greeted with a very warm welcome , we were never rushed , the food was first class , the atmosphere perfect , thank you for making our day special x

I think the bill was wrong .. and I neglected to check it, but it was really high for what we had . But the 4 stars should of been 5 stars if it wasn't for the bill. Reflects on the food, services and atmosphere . Country, winter festive, warm , and cosy all spring to mind

Fabulous Sunday roast and attentive staff.

Had a lovely l lunch today. Being local we use this pub regularly. It was the best meal I have had at the Cricketers for years. Service was good too.

Went for birthday celebrations. Staff very attentive and polite. The food was amazing. The lamb just fell off the bone and their Christmas turkey burger was fab, highly recommend.

Always a fabulous welcome from the charismatic landlord, the staff are smartly dressed, very courteous and provide top quality service. This is my go-to restaurant if I want good food and a nice time without the fear of being ket down or disappointed. Oh, and the have a dog friendly area too!

A super Sunday Lunch with the family. Staff were welcoming and the lunch was good, in fact most people left something. Plenty of meat and a good selection of veg

Having driven past this establishment on numerous occasions, we decided to give it a go. Well no regrets there at all! David who I assume is the owner, was most welcoming and attentive. Good to see a Landlord front of house and hands on. Plus the staff were great too. The food was excellent! One thing I have to say; it's okay to cook a pie or sausages; but getting the vegetables right is a different matter.. All cooked to perfection, certainly NOT microwaved. Have returned since and we will do so again.... Good ambience and warm with open fires ++

Like most pubs nowadays, over priced, average food and average service. I am giving up with pub food. Pubs need to go back to being pubs and forget about trying to be restaurants.

Terrible service every time I’ve been

Visited The Cricketers after a shopping trip yesterday - had the most delicious fish and chips (served lovely and hot!) followed by an equally lovely pudding. I was really surprised by the extensive menu. Especially the puddings. Time are hard but this restaurant continues to put out great food and the team serving are just lovely and attentive. Looking forward to more regular trips here through autumn / winter, I love the open fire and candle lit tables!

Went on Sunday for a roast. Staff really friendly and the roast was amazing! I Had a roast dinner wrap.. see photo! It was amazing!!! Partner had roast beef which was also lovely! We will be back!

Stood at the bar for 10 mins and couldn't get any of the staff in front of me to acknowledge me, so left to go to the pub over the road where I received a warm welcome and amazing food.

Recently moved to the area and been to this place a number of times (4 or 5) for Sunday lunch but one of their policies seems really off to me. Whilst the food is fairly good and the staff are ok, you are asked for a credit card before ordering and they put it in an envelope. Went there Sunday for a roast and didn't have my card as I always pay with apple pay, I was then asked to surrender my car keys?? for a couple of roast dinners?? If I wasn't really hungry I would have left. Not only does it feel like you are being treated as a thief, a car is a bit disproportionate to a roast dinner. I have never been asked this in any restaurant or pub anywhere before and find it overkill. Manage the pub better, train the staff and remove any undesirable if you are having issues with people not paying. It's a shame as its not a bad place other than this.

Had a lovely Sunday roast at the Cricketer’s. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and showed to a Dog friendly area which although is in the Bar area feels like you are still in the Restaurant and fair for those who don’t like Dogs. We had attentive service throughout the meal, greater by the landlord which is a good touch. Food tasted homemade and was hot. Recommend the Banoffee pie which was delicious and Homemade. Photo attached. Good value Lunch and will return.

Terrible experience, ordered food, manager was being awkward from the moment we arrived because we were a large party and purposely delayed our order. We even offered to pay a deposit and pre-order food but were told as we were in the garden there would be no need. The manager’s level of customer services is non-existent as are her people skills. Highly unprofessional. Will never step foot in this place again. Such a shame as it used to be a great pub.

Unfortunately a very poor experience. Had 4 tables booked for a Christening family group, at time of booking no deposit was asked for and no request to pre order food which we would have happily done had we been asked . When we arrived was told a very long wait for food (1 and a half hours) and also told other bookings would have priority over us as we hadn’t paid a deposit or pre ordered. Bear in mind non of the other bookings had pre ordered or paid a deposit so there was no reason for other tables to be prioritised over us.My son complained and the lady manager was extremely rude. Food was ordered and surprisingly the order placed by my son was somehow forgotten about, After asking about 3-4 times and after over an hour and a half where the food was as those that had ordered after my son had got theirs it was made very apparent that they had deliberately not done his order - he ended up being given a refund and food to take away. Whole situation handled totally inappropriately by the very rude manager. Will not visit again which is a shame as used to visit quite regularly

Smiley friendly staff, service charge already added to the bill so no complicated maths to do. Good food well cooked although for me the vegetables could have been cooked a little bit longer 😁👌👍

Food is spot on we have been on a few occasions for Sunday lunch, not the cheapest but wow quality food. Had the leek and chicken pie couple of weeks ago, superb. The landlord is very attentive as are the staff.

Food was quite bland and used to be far better. However, some staff clearly enjoyed the puddings as they finished some left overs.

We’ve had lunch and dinner here a few times now and it’s consistently excellent food and service. We’ve tried everything from Sunday roast to more delicate fish dishes and favourites like mac n cheese and nachos etc. Food is always really well executed and well above average for pub food. Service is always friendly and professional too. Highly recommend this place.

Went there with my brother and two friends. Everything was going okay until our mains arrived. One of my friends had ordered the home made pie with mash and vegetables. Whilst her pie and mash arrived at the same time as the other mains, there was no sign of the veg though the waitress kept insisisting ‘its coming’. Rather than let the rest of her food go cold, my friend started on her meal with the veg not arriving for approximately 10 minutes! I did complain and at first the waitress said that because of the inconvenience, she had been told we could all have a free dessert or drink. Whilst we were deciding what to have, the waitress came back saying that in fact it was only my friend who could have a free dessert. But then she came back a THIRD time to say that all they were prepared to do was deduct the price of the vegetables from our bill! As the situation was now almost farcical I asked to see the manager who was very apologetic saying they were short of kitchen staff blah blah - this is not the customers problem! He said he would take off the cost of my friend’s entire meal which we accepted. However, when the bill arrived, a 10% ‘service charge’ had been automatically added. If this is in place of a tip, which should of course be optional, I wonder if the kitchen and waiting staff do actually receive the proceeds of these extra charges or does the establishment see it as a way of making more money? We would certainly never use this pub/restaurant again.

Seriously gone down here. Obviously want clientele who will both pay through the nose and not expect much in the way of service or quality. Oh well, time to find another pub.

Had a lovely family lunch here celebrating a birthday. Been here a few times and food and service always excellent. Am sure we will be back another day.

My first time back in Britain in 4 years thanks to covid - and I live in the Land That Gave The World Covid. I had two excellent lunch time meals with my old friend. He had driven passed many times over the last ten...

We were welcomed at the bar by friendly staff, served promptly with drinks and the food was fantastic spot on compliments to the chef/s going back this Friday with parents looking forward to it!!

Had a very poor, and old tasting pint of Titley Wolf plus a Vodka and Pineapple for the bargain price of £14... Not a great deal and never to be repeated! We had considered eating in here but decided against given the quality and high...
