This place is a complete joke. I don’t know what kind of fantasy land this pub thinks it’s operating in, but charging that much for a pint should be illegal. I’ve had better beer at a petrol station, owner was a right mug aswell.

Afternoon delight. Spent a wonderful lunchtime at this beautiful welcoming venue. Staff were an absolute delight.

Sorry to say that our fish and chips was far from enjoyable. The chunky chips were awful, we left most of them as they were just too hard, and we felt they were not freshly cooked. Such a disappointment as on our previous visit it was really good. Won’t be going back.

Great boozer, friendly staff and warm atmosphere

My friends and I went for a meal at the weekend. The pub is lovely. Full of Knick knacks and historical pictures. The landlord is a lovely man, very attentive and cheerful. Made you feel at home immediately. We had a bit of a wait so had some olives and hummus, to tide us over. When it arrived it was definitely worth the wait. The food was out of this world. We all had the chicken and were not disappointed. The spinach sauce was sublime. I finished off with a crème brûlée. Again it was delicious. Will definitely be back. I didn’t take a photo of the food but took one of the view of the windmill, from out the back.

Consistent top class sunday roast at good value.. great traditional atmosphere Wood floors.. fires..an over the top landlord who cares...you can even bring your 4 legged friend..nice venue for family meals too.

Outstanding Pub. Best pub in Kent

Lovely pub however it was extremely noisy as there was a large group booking in the middle of the restaurant. Maybe a review of where large parties are seated would help. Starters were good but disappointed in main meals. Drinks were slow to arrive but probably due to how busy the pub was. The young waitresses were really pleasant.

We had booked Sunday lunch for a family birthday meal. Before we had even had opportunity to sit down, a rude woman (who turned out to be the manager) took our drink order. Our starters were lovely, but when the roasts come out not so good. The beef was very chewy and entirely inedible. When the waitress finally came round to do a check back, I said to her about the beef and she offered to take it back but at this point most of the table had finished. I explained there was not much point as expected the entire joint to be the same. When we got the bill we paid the amount without service as we didn’t think the meal/service deserved a tip. The waitress came back over and said we had underpaid. I asked to speak to the manager and explained that we wasn’t happy with the roast beef. The manager walked away, then came back a few moments later and slammed some cash down on the table rudely saying “there you go here’s a refund for one of the beefs”. We won’t be coming back.

Lovely traditional pub with good food and extensive menu.

Friendly bar staff however the drinks are over priced. Manager asked us if we wished another drink when clearly we were barely half way through!!

Really good food that was beautifully cooked and well presented. The goat's cheese and the ham hock starters were particularly good. The sea bass was cooked just how I like it, with a crispy underside. And they managed to make the humble chicken breast into something especially tasty. I would have given them five stars but some of the waiting staff were quite disengaged and had virtually no knowledge of the menu regarding either food or drinks. But that did not spoil it being a very good meal.

Very disappointed indeed with the meal of fish and chips. It was over cooked in old oil and tasted bitter. The price was extortionate with service charge included so you couldn’t even choose to pay it or not.

A pub on a Sunday is not where l want to be, parking was extremely busy not helped with bad parking, very popular pub on a Sunday at least, beef bourgion was very grisly, not tender at all, even if we sent it back they can't improve the cut of meat. Loads of vegetables more than 4 people could eat. I had the 4 meat roast, wish l had just stuck to one meat but for around £23 not bad value l suppose. Dog friendly meaning we are honoured to be allowed to have a table near the entrance possible the worst seats in the house, very cold and drafty with people coming in and out.

Christmas day lunch-Wasn't sure what to expect, wasn't enthusiastic about going. But I have to say it was a great success, the food was delicious, hot. The service was brilliant, I came away totally satisfied (Well almost, for me, I like my Brussels sprouts cooked more). I would definitely do it again.

Lovely pub that we use often.Today the music was loud and did not suite the ambience of the pub. I know music is a personal choice but hopefully something like Frank Sinatra in the back ground

Visited for the pre Christmas lunch the vegetable s were plenty but the fish got lost. Also paying £6.00 for a can of Guinness was a bit too much

Stopped off here with my dog for a quick pint after a long windswept walk. Very warm atmosphere - grabbed a seat by the fire in the main bar. The waitress offered a bowl of water for the dog right away, and the pint of a local Kentish ale was excellent. Overall a very positive experience which precisely hit the spot.

A festive meal with our friends on a busy Friday evening. A lively atmosphere all round. Our table was delayed no doubt due to the popularity of the place - no matter, the bar service was good while we waited. We were in no hurry. The Christmas menu was very good. The food was very good, backed up by pleasant and attentive service. I enjoyed an excellent vegetarian Christmas meal. Cheers.

Beautiful pub, staff and food! I attended a few days ago for a work Christmas meal. We returned after a lovely experience last year, and it was 10/10 again this time around. With a group of over 30 people, the food and service could not have been better! I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and will be back with family and friends in 2025! :)

There were six adults and two 4 year olds in our group. We had pre ordered our Christmas meal and children’s options, although they don’t do a ‘children’s menu’. From start to finish the service was excellent and all the staff were friendly. The roasts were lovely and very substantial. Christmas pudding was so nice. The crumble was okay but with most pub/restaurants, was microwaved to the hilt. Soooo hot. One negative was the children’s food. Both had just garlic bread for starter, ham, egg and chips for main and brownie with icecream for dessert. The portions were too big for a 4 year old so some got wasted. But to be charged nearly £30 each was madness for what they had. My daughter actually queried it as thought the price was wrong. If they are going to let children eat then there should be a ‘children’s menu’ with appropriate prices. We would all come back but not with children at that price.

Been here a number of times and have always enjoyed the visits. Let down this time by one staff who was very abrupt boarding on rude. However the food was great and all the other staff very plesant.

My partner and I took my father in law out for lunch. The Cricketers Inn was recommended by a friend. The overall experience was outstanding. I had the salmon, cod and king prawn linguine, my partner had the fish and chips and my father in law had the meat pie. We were all very impressed with the quality of the food, and the service we were given. We highly recommend and are definitely going back. Thank you

The two of us only decided to come in for a couple of drinks on a saturday night - was very busy but were still accommodated with ease. Very nice pub with great atmosphere. The girl behind the bar pours a great Guinness! Didn’t catch her name but she had red hair and was lovely and talkative. Top notch staff. Will definitely return

Booked ahead for a party of 13 on a Saturday night We were accommodated without fuss. And without having to select from a reduced menu as is often the case for busy times and for a large party. Service was very good considering how busy the place was but what really sealed the night was the quality of the food and the way it came out pretty much all together. To my mind THE UNSUNG HEROS WERE THE CHEFS who provide a big selection of meals plus sides and starters beautifully cooked and sent out in perfect time and all the while dealing with all the other occupied tables that night. 5*chefs . 5 * food

Best place to go if youre visiting the farm near by for apple picking or if youre looking for an amazing pub. The vibes are great, staff is friendly and the food is amazing

Had the most amazing 3 course meal after a day at Brands Hatch Bsb , every member of staff were very professional & attentive , will certainly come back again

Opened the door to be greeted by the smell of an open fire, that is a winner in my book. The bar had hooks for coats, also a winner, i do like a pub with hooks on the bar. Table booked for 2pm, we arrived at 1.30pm. grabbed a drink at the bar, mentioned we had a table booked, and we were shown to our table. Great food, the roast dinner portions are decent, we had two roast beef and the mixed roast, the veggies accompanying the food were all nice. Good service from the staff. Only gripe is there was a sign on the way out of the car park mentioning to give your car reg to your waitress. We didn't see this until we were leaving, so had to drive out and then return. If there were other signs we didn't see them. Maybe the staff could ask customers if they've parked in the car park. Other than that very minor gripe the pub and food were very good. It's on the list to return to.

We had a family gathering for Mum's 86th birthday. The food was delightful and staff superb. I would definitely recommend. A special touch of a small box with chocolates in for Mum was lovely.

Lovely quirky and a huge and delicious Sunday roast

The staff (waitress+ chef) went above and beyond expectations. Having enquired a few days earlier if my wife's dietary requirements could be accommodated, based around the items on the menu they provided something that was truly appetising and enjoyable. The rest of the party also enjoyed a splendid lunch.

Good food at a reasonable price. Service excellent and friendly. Have been a number of times and never been disappointed. Once again an excellent Sunday roast.

My partner and I visited today at lunchtime and had a fantastic experience. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and welcoming. We ordered the chicken and ham toasted sandwich, and it exceeded our expectations. The ham was real, the chicken was tender and delicious, and the fresh salad was abundant. Being used to London-sized sandwiches, we could barely manage to finish it! The portions were generous, and the overall atmosphere of the pub made it a great place for a relaxed meal. We'll definitely be coming back!

Food was really good and customer service was excellent.

I've heard good things about this pub. The food was fine but way too overpriced - we had fish and chips and pie and mash. A pint of coke was extortionate knowing it was the syrup plus soda kind. Service was good but I will not go back as the value for money as well as the quality of the food was below average.

Drinks a little on the pricy side, but great pub, food looked good, but we did not eat. Wide choice of drinks. If you are passing through, worth popping in.

Oh dear ! The Rissoto was rice pudding and was still charged £17.95... if you can't get the basics right ! Another case of a pub that thinks its a resturant and charging Michelin star prices.

Have not visited here for many years. Nice decor and clean. Great service, attentive but not on your face. Took our choice from the menu of the day. Unfortunately , my first choice was not available, hence my mark down. However, my fish and chips were well cooked and plentiful. Good parking on site, a few more people in the restaurant would have helped the atmosphere .

Arriving late in the afternoon without a reservation, we were seated outside as all indoor tables were taken. The outdoor seating was clean and well-prepared, with blankets provided to keep us warm on a breezy day, which was a nice touch. Given that we were outside, the restaurant asked us to either pay as we went or leave a credit card behind the bar. While this might reflect the cautious times we live in, we were happy to oblige. We both ordered drinks and a chicken roast dinner. The first round of drinks arrived promptly, but the dinner itself took a while to be served. When our meal finally arrived, we requested a second drink, but it was forgotten and only delivered after a reminder. The staff, however, were delightful and courteous throughout. The roast dinner was huge and beautifully cooked, and they kindly wrapped up what I couldn’t finish for me to take home for the cat. After settling the bill, we were about to drive away when we noticed a sign asking if we had given our car registration to a waiter. Realising we hadn’t, hadn’t know it was a requirement! We had to park again and go back inside to provide it. This was a bit of an inconvenience and could have been easily avoided if the staff had asked about our car when taking our order, especially as they were already asking for our credit card.

My husband and I have popped in here a few times for lunch on Saturdays and always had a good meal (steak ciabatta and the ham, egg & chips always delicious) so we thought we would try it out for Sunday lunch with the family. We were glad we booked as it was busy! We were promptly greeted and shown to our table, the staff were friendly and just the right amount of attentive. Everyone had a roast dinner and they were all delicious, in particular the beef. Lovely meal, we will definitely be back!

We stopped off at this pub while passing on our way home. It has a lovely outdoor decking area where we were able to enjoy our lunch. My partner had the gnocchi which he thoroughly enjoyed and I ordered the nachos. I made an error on my part by not checking the allergens on my dish and unfortunately when it arrived I realised I was unable to eat it. The manager was extremely accommodating and understanding and adapted the meal without hesitation so I was able to enjoy it. We were really happy with the service and the food.

Very pleasant surroundings but much too expensive. Spent £38 just on drinks.- 3 and a half pints of lager. 1 half shandy, diet coke, rum and coke and coffee. Won't be going back.

Food is great, staff are very helpful. Particularly concerning allergies. I will always eat here when I'm in the area.

We had a great meal at the cricketers inn - we were really impressed. We had the roast chicken wrap main & nacho starter (which was big!), both of which were very good. The manager himself came around all the tables, which was a nice touch. All in all, highly recommended

Lovely pub in a nice village. First off the place looks beautiful Chose to sit outside blankets provided on the chairs if needed (Nice touch) We was asked if we was running a tab and if so to give them a card to hold behind the bar .....thought this was a little odd and I'm not sure if it was only because we was two guys that turned up on bikes or maybe it's their policy. Both had non alcoholic beers Guinness 0 spot on . Moretti 0 was in my mates words rough as boots. Had some hummus and bread which was lovely. Both opted for the pie of the day beef . Very nice indeed I would of happily had another slice. It was served with mash and vegetables and all of it was delicious. Our waitress was pleasant and chatty but still attentive a real credit to your pub .

My wife and friends had lunch here today and we will definitely be returning , the food, service and overall afternoon was very enjoyable. The staff were very polite and helpful, We would like most certainly recommend this pub.

Was disappointed that we arrived at 5:30 booked table we ordered a starter before football started which was fine . Come half time of football which was before 9pm and no food. Kitchen closed at 8 pm which we wasn’t told about and only could offer crisp or peanuts from behind bar . Other customers also wanted food. Very disappointed

The place was not really busy but it was the evening of the semi final football game and not many people watched it in the pub. The food was nice, we had pie. The staff has been friendly and came often to ask whether we want anything else.

Wonderful choice on menu. Food always well cooked and delicious. Good portion sizes. Friendly and professional staff. Relaxed, clean, cosy and comfortable atmosphere.

First of all it was very cold in the pub, not exactly the warmest day when we visited yesterday. I had to ask twice for a door directly behind us to be shut which it was, then left open by other staff members - very uncomfortably cold in your pub. Tacky pop music greeting you as you enter - why is there a need for any music at all? First course of humous and bread - bread very hard and stale tasting, humous very garlicky. Main meal steak pie fine but doesn't really merit the hefty price tag as with the other dishes, on a parity with London, except not in London. People coming up to the table asking if we enjoyed the meal. Why? Are you not sure of your products? Do you not think people want privacy when they are eating? Embarrassing to be asked when you have a mouthful of food.

There are no options for both a vegan and gluten free dish unless you count a side of chips or side of steamed broccoli. Everything that was vegan contained gluten. I expect better, at least one dish I could have ordered safely for myself. I ended up getting the vegan burger, which I guessed had the least amount of gluten in the dish, and it was both expensive and lackluster. I would not eat here again.

Very overpriced wine and food We had a lite bit which was extremely lite on content calamari and rocked salad The calamari was in small pieces not what you’d expect !!! Well never visit again

Went here with my daughter and grandchildren, absolutely beautiful, the service was brilliant, food was amazing. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend this pub, and we will use it again.

Nice enough. Not sure why they've ramped up their prices so much... the food isn't as good as it was a few years ago. Not sure I'd be back in a hurry unless it was just for drinks.

This is a great pub. Excellent well served food. Best pub for food in the area.

We booked for a triple 60th birthday celebration and upon invitation I did mention this when booking. I didn’t expect champagne and roses but to have the “any special requests?” completely ignored was poor. The food was generally good, although the calamari started was poor, but the service whilst polite was exceptionally slow. We sat down at 7:45 and main course didn’t arrive until after 9 pm. We did chase and apologies were given but as one of our party didn’t have a started they were pretty hungry when their main course eventually arrived. We have eaten at the Cricketers before and had better food and service. I will now think twice before recommending to friends again. Left feeling rather deflated and a little sad. .

Great service, booked a large party for my daughter inlaws baby shower. Cricketers were so helpful and kept me informed. Food and service was excellent. Helped to make the afternoon a special occasion

The lady running the bar is incredibly rude. We said we were in for drinks and wouldn’t be that long. She said we could sit at an unmade table near the bar. We sat down and a little while later she tells us we can’t sit there we have got a table of 5 booked now. I said for what time and she said 1.30. I pointed out it was 12.15 and we would be gone shortly and she relented . This is the fourth time this has happened to us by her and the South African gentlemen. It seems they are only interested in people that are eating. We had a table booked with family for later this month. This will now be cancelled. Avoid

The food was delicious, big hearty meals. The setting is lovely in cobham, and it's a lovely pub. Unfortunately, we felt we was an inconvenience to the lady who served us our food. Maybe she had lots on her mind, 🤔 other things she needed to do, but even when we paid the bill,it felt that she just wasn't interested. I'd still go there again, as the food was really nice.

Good level of parking at the restaurant with good access. We were greeted by good atmosphere as soon as we walked in. There was a nice clean feel when looking around and was sat down to our table quickly, we did book ahead as it was a Saturday night but there was still enough seating available. There was lots of seating indoors as well as outdoors. Food portions were good and tasted nice, it looked like the menu had been updated and printed daily which was different to what I had seen before. Overall nice experience and wasn’t a bad price for the two of us having three courses. I would highly recommend the chilli nachos as starter!

Friendly local pub with a good selection of pub grub, including vegan fish and chips which went down well with the vegans on our table. Quite pricey at £40 per head though, with drinks.

Nice pub , friendly staff . Had three basic pub meals ( fish and chips etc ) which were nicely cooked and presented . A bit of a shock when recieving the bill though as along with one dessert , 2 pints of lager and a glass of wine came to over £90 . Drink prices are ridiculous.

Food was ok. Manager doesn’t really get customer service it’s fair to say. Better local pubs around where you get far better value for money and service.

I treated my friend to a birthday meal today ( Ive just got home ) Our food was superb. My burger was ont of the ebst Ive ever had and my friend really enjoyed her roast beef dinner. Dessert was devine, apple cinnamon cake nd two scoops ice cream. Brilliant customer service. We will be back. xxxxx
