Me and my little 3 years old one have spent a lovely lunch time for both the Crafternoon Tea with Izzy and the Cupcake Decorations workshop with Tracey, both were absolutely lovely and pleasant, such a nice way for kids to express themselves and learn in a charming and cosy environment, lead by 2 very sweet ladies and their joy to share some time with us, not mentioning the lovely snack-tea we have been granted with in the end of each! Will definitely do again and thank you both again xxx

Service was lovely couldn’t fault them. Very overpriced. Wasn’t given a choice of scones or sandwiches. Four small triangle sandwiches with a bit of salad leaves youd never eat, no crisps. Small bite size cakes priced at £18.95 EACH. Childrens £11.95, no tea. So disappointing. Would never have afternoon tea again.

This is a tea room and also a tea emporium. Excellent range of teas for sale in the shop (some very unusual blends). The service in the tea room is quick and very friendly. The cakes are ok.

My soya latte was putrid. Asked the server to check whether it was off. She sniffed the carton of Asda own-brand soya milk and said it was fine. Ignoring the fact that it was off, why am I paying a 50p premium for Asda own-brand milk alternative. Very poor!!

So popped into Marie's Tea Room for lunch to be honest not impressed ordered tuna sweetcorn on brown bread , well all I could taste was the mayonnaise so sloppy and bread quite dry/stale ? . So no staff in tea room to complain to as was round the back of tea room not front so I did eat as was hungry. So when had finished the young girl asked what sandwich like I told her and she advised someone else had said this as well and she had binned it so my question is why serve it to me in the first place and she new the problem …. Not great don’t think I hurry back

Thank you, for such an amazing afternoon. My niece had her 7th birthday party with you today. I would recommend this to all, the team was amazing, the children loved it. They did their research before the party setting up games for sensory and low noised games to suit my nieces disability needs and was very impressed. They took the time to do this as we have had other parties in other places and they have never taken her needs into consideration. The children enjoyed decorating cupcakes and biscuits. Lots of activities for them all to do. They enjoyed their afternoon Tea like grown-ups. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. My niece had a very big smile on her face when we left and was very happy. She said it was the best party she has had. So thank you for making her day so special. Would definitely recommend it to anybody for an afternoon tea party.

I love it here! Coffee is delicious and I love the toasted fruit bread, smothered in butter!

Tracey and Izzy were so lovely as always, food was amazing (highly recommend the Brie and cranberry panini) was so yummy. I always meet my dad to have lunch here and it’s so tranquil and such good service every time.

We turned up for our booking that I prepaid for Mother’s Day, a younger lady checked the booking and guided us to our table. All of a sudden we then was being shouted at and humiliated in front of the whole restaurant by an older lady telling us to wait. She then started shouting saying you’ve booked for four people, everyone in the restaurant was staring at us. I said yes we have booked for four people and there are four of us. She continued to shout and wave her arms, we could hardly get into our seats because the tables were so close together. She then realised quickly what she was saying was wrong and there was four of us. She then walked off in a huff without apologising for her mistake or behaviour. The way she spoke to us and humiliated us in front of the whole restaurant then caused my mum to have a panic attack, completely ruining our Mother’s Day gift for her. If I hadn’t prepaid the £80 for the tea we would’ve left straight away. I was so upset by how this ruined Mother’s Day and completely disgusted by the way we was spoken to and treated. The way we was spoken to and treated was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. The dairy free option of the afternoon tea also didn’t have any scones or cream and had less cakes and sandwiches but cost the same amount. The tables were so close together we couldn’t sit down and there was so much on the table we could hardly move. The restaurant also smelt of damp and our coats smelt like damp once we left because the smell was so potent.

Sorry unwelcoming, ignored nothing quaint and inviting and I love a tea room. Left without ordering after 10mins .

A lovely quirky cafe. We have been before (we live in Sittingbourne). The staff are so warm and helpful. We enjoyed our sandwiches and cake, both of which were of a high order. Its just nice to be there.

Absolutely lovely place, staff are lovely highly recommend, didn’t eat on this occasion but have had food previously which has always been nice, just had a drink (best hot chocolate) with my newborn and the ladies were so friendly & welcoming.

Absolutely delighted with our afternoon tea ;had friends visiting from Cyprus one of which has a gluten allergy and the lovely Isabel Michaela & Hannah were so accommodating separating our treats so it was clear which were gluten free my friend was so happy with her tasty treats we even ended up next door in the emporium buying more of the wonderful tea we had drunk and a cute little tea pot (thanks Ryan ) I will definitely be going back

Ryan gave us a great service in store today , they were super helpful and friendly and helped me find everything I needed for the perfect birthday gift! Will be back soon!

Simply gorgeous place to eat, have afternoon tea or just a cuppa. Service was excellent & I can't wait to go back.

Scones were a little dry. Rest of food was ok

So very impressed with my order today. I had a sandwich with a fruit scone and it was delicious. Sandwich came in a lovely box with a side of crisp and salad and the scone came in a separate box which was warm with clotted cream and jam in lovely little containers. Will most definitely be ordering again.

Presented in a good sandwich box with crisps. Filling was full with great flavours. Bread soft with a crisp top and thick cut.

Went for an afternoon tea with family visiting from abroad - what a lovely place and experience! Service is 7⭐️ and the girls working there are soooo nice and helpful! Highly recommend that place. Food delicious, the environment is very cozy and welcoming, such a nice cute place for coffee and afternoon tea ❤️

A lovely tearoom on the High Street in the Heritage Quarter. We ordered coffee, hot chocolate, scones and a vegan chilli jacket potato. The scones and the hot chocolate were lovely and we would recommend them. A couple of points though, the coffees were quite weak and the vegan chilli was a tad tasteless and could have done with some more spices: chilli, paprika etc, small points easily rectified I hope. Will try again soon.

I had arranged to meet my sister to celebrate her 80th birthday and had booked afternoon tea for us both. They accommodated our dietary needs which were numerous and I have no complaints about that. Unfortunately my sister didn't arrive so I went ahead and had my food and drink and they boxed the rest for me to take home. The afternoon tea is quite expensive at £18+ each but you do get unlimited tea and coffee however the food left a lot to be desired. I have no idea what 3 of the triangles of sandwiches contained but the 4th was OK, I wasn't offered a choice of plain or cheese scone and was given a plain one but no spread or jam and had to use my coffee spoon to eat what I think was a trifle. I had only one coffee and my sister, of course, didn't have any so I asked if I could have a glass of prosecco to make up for her not having the unlimited tea and coffee but, after contacting the owner, I was told that wasn't possible because prosecco is more expensive. Now I know my sister would have had at least 3 coffees and, although I don't know how much a cup of coffee is, I should imagine they are at least £2.50 so 3 coffees would be at least £7.50. However a glass of prosecco is only £6.50!! I will never go in there again nor will my family and I think the owners should think about customer satisfaction a little bit. First and last time for me!!

What a lovely traditional coffee shop, we ordered afternoon tea for 2 and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, they checked if we had any dietary requirements and were so attentive to us during our visit. We will definitely be returning and if you haven't tried it then definitely make some time to visit.

I visited this tea room with 2 friends today & we were so impressed with the service we received. The member of staff was very friendly, helpful & the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this lovely tea room.

Absolute shocking service. Walked in, empty restaurant, no acknowledgement from any staff, waited at the table for 30mins, nobody to take an order - empty restaurant!!

Five of us dined here for a light lunch, it looked small and it was, I don't think any of the tables would comfortably seat five adults with full meals but I am sure they could shift some tables around if need be, we chose to eat here knowing that. The food was good without being great, I I found the salad that came with my sandwich a bit withered but still okay. I thought the price was a little high for the style and quality but again we knew the price before we ordered.

I am a life-long coffee drinker. I know I haven't had hot tea for at least 40 years. Living in Florida, I only drink iced tea. But,.. on a chilly day in April my wife wanted to stop in for tea. I was truly surprised at how much I enjoyed the tea (Earl Grey) and the fruit scones. It was a pleasant atmosphere with friendly waitstaff. While I haven't been able to match the quality and flavor of Marie's tea - I'm now drinking hot tea several times a week. So, I guess you could say my visit was a game changer!

Went for afternoon tea scones was amazing nice and warm sandwiches nice and fresh but the cupcakes that came with the afternoon tea was definitely not home made..shop bought with a dusting added to them they was long life sponge not fresh I was left disappointed by this

Came here for an early mother's day treat on Saturday 26th. Absolutely loved the afternoon tea, Scones were still warm and sandwiches tasted nice and fresh. This is my 3rd time coming here since I've lived in Gravesend and now it's my favourite place. Lovely staff. Thank you! Only thing that was negative was when we sat down there was alot of Ash on the table (outside) but other than that it was a lovely afternoon!

First time order, the mother's day afternoon tea for collection, one adult and one kids version. Was really looking forward to having this with my daughter. However, when we came home and opened the bag items were missing. The selection of teas in the adult pack, the plain scone with cream and jam in the kids pack and the Victoria sponge in both. Very disappointing and rather not the value for money I had expected. Spoilt the day a bit for me i have to admit! Will not go there again.

My friend and I wanted to do something for our birthdays, so we decided to go to Maries Tea room my fiend rang to book this but was told to do it on line, so she did but was charged a handling fee!! We were there today Wednesday 23rd March, 2022 arrived told to go to our table a little while later was asked what we wanted but we told them we were here for Afternoon Tea which had been booked for 1pm, we kept waiting for our afternoon tea which did not arrive so we asked the staff where it was we finally got it at 1.50pm not good enough we booked it for 1pm. After we got our afternoon tea we found that the scones were very stoggy and did not seem if they were cooked properly and the cakes were shop brought we expected home made cakes for the amount of money we paid. £14.50 was very expensive for what we got!!! Really disgusted with the service and the food quality.

Unfortunately 2 of my friends ended up self isolating so I phoned up 5 days beforehand and spoke to the owner Graham, who confirmed the cancellation and agreed to refund the monies paid. The following week I went in for a different afternoon tea booking, and having not received my refund asked if the staff member could chase it up. She said Graham would phone me, he didn’t. As it was Christmas time I left it a few weeks and still hadn’t had my refund, so I phoned and asked to speak to Graham. Again I was told he would phone me, he didn’t. After another few days I phoned again, and when the staff member asked me my name, I heard him say Graham there’s a lady on the phone for you and he told him my name. I also heard Graham’s response that he wasn’t going to talk to me. I was as patient as I could be, and have always been happy to support a local business but this experience is absolutely disgusting. Keeping people’s money when you advertise a full refund on cancellation is theft. With no other option, I’ve had to involve my credit card company who have investigated and refunded me based on the evidence I have to show the payment was refundable on cancellation. All it would have taken was a simple phone call from Graham to explain if there had been a delay with the payment company. What irritates me even more, is that when I cancelled I would have happily re-arranged for another date if he had asked me to as an alternative to a refund. Now all I can say is I will never use them again, and cannot recommend them to anybody.

Lovely experience from ordering over the phone to collecting in person. I have a particular blend of tea and the staff helped me get the mix just right, nothing was too much trouble so I rate this a 5 star business.

Marie’s is a relaxed, friendly place to enjoy an Afternoon Tea, lunch or just a cuppa. There is a wonderful selection of teas and other beverages and well a substantial food menu and lots of lovely cake 😋🍰🍵🧁☕️🥰

I visited Maries tea room with a friend for the Christmas themed afternoon tea. A fair price and excellent food. The sandwiches were all fresh and the homemade scones were excellent! The turkey sandwich, pigs in blankets and Christmas cake slices as part of the sweet options were a nice twist on a traditional afternoon tea. A nice venue in Gravesend with a very pleasant ambience. Will definitely look to return in the future to try some of the other menu items.

My daughter had her 6th birthday party at Marie’s Tea room and had the best time . Graham and the team were fantastic and he was absolutely brilliant with all the children. The food, party games and arts and crafts were great and everyone said what a lovely time their children had. Would highly recommend .

Just ordered a ham ploughman's through deliveroo very disappointing not worth the money at all very cheaply put together inc ingredients. Would not recommend at all if considering the ploughman's.

Booked out the tea room for my best friends baby shower for 16 people and it went so smoothly and everything was set up just perfectly for us! The staff made everything very easy when arranging and were very attentive the entire time! Lovely place, definitely worth a visit!

My mum and I always enjoy the variety and quality of the food and great service at maries . We also love the pretty setting and seating arrangements Thanks to Tracey (I think ) , our waitress today it was lovely chatting with you .

Came to this lovely little tea shop with my daughter on a blistering hot day. Unknowingly it was just before closing time but the ladies in the shop were still able to get us something despite the kitchen being closed and found us a seat outdoors. We also got some good local recommendations on where we could go to cool off at the coast :) Friendly, helpful service on what must have been a busy, hot day and probably the most debauched Mr Whippy Ive seen served to my daughter, covered in sprinkles and sauce. Of course she loved that! Highly recommend!

First and last visit. Service so slow. Waitress not really bothered. Wanted jacket potato, when it finally arrived 45mins later it was the smallest potato ever. Cheese was good though. Look at your staff owners and replace with people who can do the job.

Lovely little tea room. We had a cream tea, and the scones were freshly made that day, still warm, and totally delicious. Would recommend in a heart beat, and the service was spectacular. If you can get an outside table in the sun, then this is the best bet for sure!

Lovely takeaway waffle, maple and bacon breakfast! First class! As well as freshly ground coffee. Keep up the good work. The flavoured hot chocolates purchased for Christmas are amazing!

Visited Marie's Tea Room's today, we had two takeaway's. Food was hot and very enjoyable. Coffee Hot and Good Quality. We had Cake for dessert, very fresh very tasty.

We stopped here for drinks and the children were certainly impressed with the chocolate milkshakes which were very large! The cafe is reasonably sized indoors with a small outdoor seating area. We were served very quickly and chose to sit outside to watch the world go by (it's situated in the main high street). Inside there is a lovely selection of cakes (see pic) on display and the menu looked nice too. The cafe itself is extremely clean, the only disappointment being the toilet which needs a bit of a makeover. All in all very pleasant.

Service could be better. My son got his sandwich then 20mins later my daughter in law got hers then forgot mine and waited another 10 mins so we didn't really get to have lunch at the same time.. food is nice. But service terrible.

Booked afternoon tea for 3 people Long wait as the assistant said she was dealing with two other tables . Tea arrived no milk or spoons they came 10 minutes later after asking twice. Afternoon tea was ok but was shocked at non homemade cakes . The cup of tea was heaven.used toilet facilities no toilet paper or anything to dry hand and sanitizer empty. A birthday treat for my daughter in law disappointing 🙁

Bit slow the service but I think she was having a bad day. Coffee was not to my taste don’t know what male but I didn’t like. Dog loved the nachos that were served with the sandwich. I thought it was a bit overpriced. She did bring the dog water as well.

Lovely little tea shop with indoor and outdoor space .Staff were exceptionally friendly . Very nice to have back ground music rather than the ear blasting night club music that is now unfortunately the norm in so many establishments .Please note afternoon tea and Marie’s afternoon tea are two different things which is a little confusing .Asked for ice in our juice but it came without . Asked for brown bread and was served white . Would have preferred scones with the afternoon tea rather than the dry ,hard ,rock cakes .

Nice little tea room. We went for lunch and had the full English. It was OK. Probably would have been better to have cakes (they have a lot) or cream tea (looked delicious). Jacket potatoes were very nice and kids lunch was nice. They have kids high chairs and a baby change which is useful.

This was our first cafe visit since lockdown! I just wanted to extend my appreciation for the lovely lady working today- warm, friendly and very welcoming! The measures they have put in place such as additional outdoor seating, track and trace reporting and social distancing were spot on. As a recommendation I would suggest investing in a decent coffee machine as the coffee wasn’t too great sadly, but the customer service was beyond fantastic! Thank you for making our first cafe visit brilliant and giving us more confidence to visit local establishments to support local business!

Slow and bumbling service from staff. Simple order of scrambled eggs on toast and two coffees took 20-25mins. I could've cooked a fry-up and washed the dishes in that time. This tea room has potential but staff are letting it down. They should invest in a proper manager who has customer service and efficiency as a priority and whip this team into shape. Won't be returning because of this disappointing experience.

Just what we wanted after a couple of hours of wandering round Gravesend - a cup of tea from the excellent selection and some delicious courgette and avocado cake. And charming hospitality too.

Great vegan options albeit a tad stingy, particularly with the mushrooms. It was, however, very friendly with a quaint ambience that was pleasing.
