Delicious toasties, amazing cake! Such a great little gem to have in the village, such a treat to come here but is rather on the expensive side.

Called in here to break our journey between the south coast and the Midlands. Lovely Relaxed atmosphere. I had bacon sandwich and my wife a warm sausage roll, with tea in China cups. The food was lovely and we took out cakes for our tea later. Well recommended. Outside seats available.

Our afternoon tea delivered to us by Ruth, was absolutely wonderful. A great selection of sweet and savoury food all beautifully presented in a small wicker hamper. Just the thing for our lockdown first anniversary. We'll definitely use them again.

Confined to home in the January Lockdown for my wife's birthday. A surprise hamper of Afternoon tea delivered to home in Great Shefford by Priscilla as a birthday gift from my daughter and son and family. My wife is seriously gluten and lactose intolerant and there was a selection of gluten-free and "normal" finger sandwiches, quiches, sausage rolls and scotch eggs with quails' eggs. lactose-free and normal cram, scones, merinques and much, much more. Definitely too much for a single sitting. The photographs in an earlier review also show what we received. Now need a visit to the Cafe after normality returns.

I am a regular customer at Priscilla's, and have enjoyed over the past couple of years, bacon sandwiches (which are some of the best in the business) and numerous slices of her delicious homemade cakes with a fragrant cup of coffee. No once have I been disappointed. My husband often has brunch of smoked salmon, avocado, poached egg and slices of crisp bacon and says it is the best he's had. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Absolute gem of a coffee shop which we are so lucky to live close to - we visit for breakfast, lunch and cake! We had an afternoon tea hamper delivered for Father’s Day during lockdown and the food was amazing - delicious sandwiches and scotch eggs - melt in the mouth Viennese whirls as well as other yummy cakes and scones! Highly recommended!

We stumbled into the cafe yesterday to hear that they had shut, they very kindly said we could have some drinks and cake to takeaway. We declared it the best hot chocolate we have ever had and the Viennese whirls were as described - melt in the mouth. Thank you once again for letting us in away from the gale force wind and torrential rain, we’ll be back!

This tucked away country cafe is such a delightful treat in the chocolate box village of East Garston. Stop by for an excellent home cooked lunch of freshly made quiche, scotch eggs and other mouth watering light bites! Finish off with decadent cake and coffee and upon leaving, vow to return! It's certainly worth the drive and only 9 miles from Newbury and 12 miles from Swindon.

I have just held a socially distanced picnic for my team after a long lockdown and Priscilla’s Kitchen provided the most amazing individual mini hampers. They were loaded with lovely sandwiches, quiche, scotch egg, sausage roll, amazing brownie, macaroon, cup cake and scones with jam and cream. Nothing was too much trouble for Ruth and they were delivered with a smile. Thank you so much. We’ll see you again next month. Best wishes - Claire

We decided to drop by for an afternoon coffee. We shared slices of the amazing lemon drizzle cake and spectacular coffee cake washed down with a cup of cappuccino. Ruth was very friendly and convinced us to leave with one of her massive meringues - we didn’t need that much convincing! Looking forward to trying the Saturday Brunch menu and using as a pit stop on our dog walks down the valley. (Priscilla’s *is* “doggie friendly”)

I go here regularly. Small friendly little cafe in the village shop. Sometimes buy as popular with hikers and cyclists in the area as well as being used by us locals. Fantastic for a brief cuppa, with excellent barrista coffees and pots of tea with an excellent range of made locally or in house cakes, sausage rolls, pasties etc. Some rather fantastic 'salad' options [coleslaw] made freshly to accompany the above and there's always a good 'soup of the day', again made freshly. Wonderful people watching either indoors or out and really friendly volunteers running this community owned cafe. Highly recommended.

Another superb lunch at The Hartley Arms. We had a warm welcome and never rushed the service and ambience were perfect. The Sunday lunch main courses included braised beef, gammon, sea bream plus a couple of vegetarian options. We had the beef and gammon and both were excellent. The desserts were also fantastic and not to be missed.

Had a beautiful afternoon tea, the food, presentation and service were perfect. I'd had the boxed brownies before posted as a gift and was impressed and this certainly lived up to my expectations.
