Popped in with the family for a quick bite , staff were friendly and very helpful, food came quick and was hot with a good portion Will be back

as a regular visitor to this pub, tonight was probably the worst experience. the pub was full of very loud young children, screaming! the tables were dirty. we ordered food and used blue light discount and it cost £4 more than the menu price! mentioned this and told not their problem! surely they should tell the customer it is going to cost more! the food was of very poor quality, not as described on menu and very dry and over cooked for the oriveledge of paying more! drinks not served in the correct glasses, it it is simple things! not sure that I will revisit after tonight! surely you can do better?

Me and my partner visited today for some food before work we both ordered a full English and to be honest there was no fault at all with the food! The only thing I can say is that it said on the menu it comes with a tomato although ours didn’t but that isn’t an issue at all! I work in a restaurant/ bar myself and understand that things get tough most of the time! The staff were chatty/ helpful & polite! Overall for us we will be visiting again as we really enjoyed it! Thank you!

Can’t fault the place! Tasha is an amazing member of the team and is as crazy as a box of frogs but also very professional in her work! Big thumbs up to her as it’s hard work running a busy pub! Keep up the great work! 👏👏👏

Normally good in here but tonight the staff that are in are absolutely shocking waited 40 minutes with a 1 year old for food that never came and when we asked about the food the lass was just laughing about it like some big joke she actually came walking out the kitchen eating food.

Had lunch with friends food was great loverly staff made us feel very welcome and staff very polite asking if our food was ok and if we needed anything just to ask will definitely be back

You know what, I've given this place the benefit of the doubt so much over the years but actually the service is absolutely awful. We were there again on Sunday and it was just one thing after another. Don't think I'll bother again!

Such good spicy wings for a pub, staff were great especially the older blond lass so helpful. I need more wings so ill be back.

Alison was lovely. I had a younger child with ADHD and she was brilliant with them even though they didn't make her life easy.

Popped in for drinks with friends ended up having som food, believed it was Alison in the kitchen. Both food and drinks were served to a high standard. Will be back and highly recommend!

Popped in the other day with some friends and had a lovely time! Alison was so lovely and helpful! She recommended a steak sharing board with my fave Camembert and it was cooked to perfection! Will be back for more soon!

Great relaxed family atmosphere with the footy on the televisions around the bar. Food and drink were all good as well as the service. Will definately be returning.

Came in to watch the match, great atmosphere all staff were amazing especially Nicola and Louise, always service with a smile and good banter!

Had our first family meal out, the staff were attentive and friendly. We were served by Nicola who gave recommendations of food and knew the menu well and we were not disappointed with our choice. There was a great range of both food and drinks to choose from we will definitely return.

We went for a pub quiz and food. The food was great and so was the service. We were served by a lady with an apron we didn't catch her name but she told us the best food to get. We will definitely be returning!

Came here for the first time with a group of friends, the food was lovely and the service was quick. The cleanliness and professionalism regarding covid procedures made us feel safe. Our server Cara was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. We had an amazing experience and can’t wait to eat here again.

Highly recommend the Prince of Wales. And highly recommend asking for Cara. She made sure our visit was fun and welcoming and did everything to ensure we had everything we needed. Excellent service from an excellent server.

While being in here I was served by Cara and she made sure to come over and check that everything was okay and everyone at the table was enjoying their time there. I'll definitely be returning.

Lovely pub, Nicola always goes beyond to help you best she can service with a smile and very friendly. Would deffo recommend this pub and being served by Nicola is a bonus

First time out since lockdown and was a bit wary due to Covid, but social distancing and Covid precautions in place, felt very comfortable. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Served by Nicola who was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about products. Will definitely return

Awesome bar. Best barmaids in the northeast. They'll buy you a drink if you leave a good review. The little blonde one is a bit feisty, but her sister always keeps her in check.

Terrible. Don't bother. I wasn't expecting fine dining but something on par with wetherspoons... if only. After waiting 1 hour and 40 mins, the worsed burger I have ever tasted arrived. I couldn't eat it. Go elsewhere.

I was in for drinks Monday with my friends and we weren't sure what to order. Nicola served us and knew the menu really well and recommended the perfect things for us! She always served us with a smile. We will definitely be coming in again!

...... a longer than expected wait for meals although they were turning away people who hadn’t booked, the tables for eating and drinking weren’t full, ice in drinks we didn’t want and a condiments with a split vinegar soaking the rest meant that this was our worst ever visit here.Staff were busy with a Halloween event which looked great but seemed to be at the expense of diners and drinkers who had waits to be offered drinks. They were well rehearsed with the covid regulations and were all very pleasant but no check back was made until too late. The offer of free drinks or desserts was offered twice as the staff were genuine in their apologies but we just needed to get away. Plenty of interesting, double sided menus are the plus side for next time we visit.

My sister and I ordered the chicken tikka masala for lunch today. After 40 minutes were served a warm, tasteless, chicken in a lot of thin sauce. Popadoms which were passed their sell by date. We had to request the Mango chutney which was supposed to be part of the meal. Extremely disappointing!! After complaining we were offered "Something else" or a free dessert which was very nice and well handled. The point is that you don't go for a meal to be kept waiting and get rubbish to eat.

Food was good value & service was quick! The thing that had me most impressed though was the cleanliness and professionalism of everyone around. Will visit again.

Had Sunday lunch here the other week with a friend...didn’t think it was anything special. I had the steak pie with chips (not home made, just boring frozen chips) with peas. It was okay. I will say however that all the staff here are exceptionally friendly, helpful and attentive. I was so impressed with them that I’d come back to eat here again.

Wow what nice management and staff. The food was piping hot and tasty. The pub adhered to the covid rules and social distancing was enforced. They pub looked very clean and well kept.

Had a fantastic meal here last week! We had a shared starter which was fab, two chicken tikka masalas and two desserts. Reasonably priced. Sensible precautions taken for Covid 19.Staff friendly and helpful! Much better since the previous time I visited (about a year ago!!). Shout out to Lorna who was knowledgable and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Will be back sooner :) thanks

During this very strange time it’s great to see that all rules and guidelines have been followed but even better to have the same feel as you walk in the pub. Food has been fantastic, staff welcoming, timing of orders has been great, fantastic service and as usual nothing is ever a problem as staff are always there to help. went to the prince of wales as i had booked a table got there in time . then they gave us one of the worst tables in the place imagine the sight to old people trying to sat on these very tall chairs. so we went and asked to change the sitting and told by one member of staff that the place was fully booked . Anyhow we ordered our food and had to wait a long time to arrive when it did arrive we had no cutlery away the waitress went to get our cutlery. In total it took 90 minutes to have a 2 course meal . I would never go back even if the food was free and the food was average staff need to go on a people skills course they have no idea how interact with paying customers

Food was lovely but had to ask three times for desserts, whilst sitting amongst our dirty plates. Ordered drinks that never came, because they forgot about them. Poor experience

You walk in, head to the empty bar, then get asked to wait by the door, while a member of staff plays with the till. I gave up and walked out, and will in future give my custom to pubs that can be bothered to serve you.

I visited on a busy Saturday and was served by the brilliant Abi who couldn't do enough for us .We visit regularly and the foods always great you can tell it's a good pub as it's always busy ,its a great place to watch live football and has many large TVs round the place even better as I live locally .

Apart from a table that leaned at an angle, dirty menus and having to ask for glasses to be removed and the table cleaned the prince of Wales was fine for meals for 6 including 2 children’s meals. The menu is large and has deals on through the week. Two of our party had mac and cheese and both said it tasted like a packet mix but the other meals including chicken dishes, gammon, steak pie were hot, tasty and ample portions

Decided to meet some relatives here to eat. It was a Monday so I chose the sirloin steak which was on offer. But disappointed as it was a bit chewy, peas were a bit hard but the chips were good. Wine was very cheap - 10.49 for a bottle of Chenin Blanc one of my favourite wines, though when I ordered it at first the bar staff thought it was a red wine.

Thank you so much to all the staff at The Prince of Wales for making the Cadet Christmas party night a fantastic night. The food was fantastic, great value for money, entertainment was good and staff where very pleasant and friendly!! A booking of 32 can be difficult but everyone has said they had a fantastic night.

I have used the pub for more years than I can remember but over the last few months it has gone down the tubes , the new manager and staff have let it go all to pot . At one time the bar staff were very good and you never had to wait to be served , but now it is a joke how long you have to stand at the bar and hope someone will see me and get me my drinks in, a young lad standing next to me said I think i'm going down to the Greyhound for a quick pint . Well that sums it up will never go back and be ignored again plenty of good pubs around where you don't get treated like you are invisible . Hope the latest manager wakes up and sends the bar staff on a training course how to deal with people and cheer up.

The pub its self had a fantastic vibe.Staff where friendly and helpful.Went to take my mam out for 50th birthday meal.I ordered the chicken tikka and my mam had hunters chicken.My sister was pleased that they had vegan menu she was super chuffed with this.My brother had the stake.All food tasted delicious and way presented really well.Staff did fantastic job on checking if we enjoyed it.Over all a fantastic friendly place to go.

Came to the prince of Wales a week ago for a family meal we hadn't book a table but the bar staff wear more than happy to help get a table together for us. The pub was busy but we didnt have to wait to long for are food. Food was disgusting the hot dog was burnt and hard the mac and cheese had no flavour I have had nicer tasting ready meals. The bowl I received my food in had a chip in the side.

Great food, fantastic price. Two meals for £9.99. Excellent value, good food. My wife and I had wanted to visit this place to eat for a long time. So on our anniversary we decided to give it a try. Apart from the music being to loud everything else was great. We would recommend this place to all and will be going back for more food again.

Went in for the steak night but soon realised the football was on AND the quiz was on. The food turned up reasonably quick and was pretty darn tasty.

Like I said in the title it's really a mediocre spoons, the good is average very inoffensive typical of the flaming grill and spoons. I got the surf and turf; peas, chips, steak, scampi and chicken breast for some reason but it might be to counteract the size of the steak but it was ok, and the family members who had the same thing all seemed to come to the same consensus of "eh, it's alright" but the ok food is offset by the relative cheapness brought about by the deals they have on since if a steak is going for around £5-6 it's hardly going to be world class. The staff were nice, quick and atmosphere was typical of a family pub light-hearted etc. A big plus (for me) was the tellies all around the restraunt, which 9 times out of 10 was playing the match with sky sports. The pints on offer weren't a massive collection just your classics John Smith's and the like, Corona and a few ciders and cocktails, all at reasonable prices. The staff was quick and theres plenty of room for large groups the main problem is that the food especially was very average.

called by for lunch, signature stack burger was huge! nice staff and really good prices. food was prepared quickly, a much better experience than when we had visited here in the past. Looks like the place has had a facelift too

just been in there could not believe what i was seeing barmaid eating a meal at the bar with fingers (chick"n"mix)and playing with her phone playing with her hair while serving drinks nice hygiene also 2 barmen playing with hair and touching things they should not be touching then serving drinks and meals put me right off someone from green king needs to take a hard look at the place bad bad hyjiene

First time in PoW and was quite impressed with the place, clean and tidy with plenty of tables to sit at. Ordered the £5 rump steak and was cooked as ordered with a nice serving of chips and peas. Good service and friendly staff as well.

Having placed our order with a lot of issues due to the member of staff being new i returned to our table to find out that instead of an orange and soda he had given me a glass of soda!

We, as a family had a fantastic meal here last week. Price and quality were excellent. we will be going back soon, and I'm sure we will return after that as well. Very close to where we live and choice of food is superb.

As we have visited before and was very nice I decided to go for my birthday tea also received a voucher for a bottle of wine as I signed up. Our meal was very nice excellent service and wine was lovely we will be back

I've been before generally on a Tuesday as the steak meals are all on offer, however I came yesterday to take advantage of the two for one burgers as I'm on a budget.

Visited tonight for my birthday meal and what a let down. Following the takeover and makeover we thought why not. Ordered drinks which took a while to do as the bar maid consistently got the order wrong!! The pornstar martini no longer has Prosecco... only found out after I asked why we had not even 3/4 of a pitcher of what looked like juice (mostly lemonade with the smallest amount of absolute vodka in). We then ordered meals and asked for a shared starter and onion ring stack to come first as starters then mains to come next... 2 of the mains were not available so had to choose something different. Fair do’s. Waited ages for food to arrive... all the starters and mains arrived at the same time... minus the mac and cheese for the double dipped steak and half the gravy! Great. This arrived 1 minutes later. The rare steaks were medium, the mediums were well done and the chicken breast was cold! Not impressed. So disappointed. We loved coming when it was a normal sizzling pub. Must admit the waiter was great, he was friendly and attentive.

Lovely place to go every week we’ve been coming here for about 2 years now and the food and service has always been great! Today our steak came wrong and the lovely barstaff and nicola took care of it no issues and made sure everything else was okay! Couldn’t recommend this place enough everyone there is down to earth and super friendly best place to have your sunday meals and a laugh!

The flaming Grill chain works like a dream most of the time. We have never been in when it hasn’t been busy with both drinkers and people having meals. The Sister pub, The Fountain Inn in nearby South Shields it gets so busy so try to get there early. So, yes the menus are full and that’s great but if the food you receive isn’t great then it defeats the object. As per par all 5 meals, (two kids means and 3 adult meals) were spot on and nearly all of the plates were finished off. The manager agreed to swap my husbands gammon choice with a sausage and he enjoyed it. 5 people and 4 drinks (which were a bit expensive at £2.50 per soft drink,) came to £ 35 which was good value. Happy customers and you can go again and again as the menu is that impressive.

Lisa the manager was very helpful after a long weekend away we all had one final stop off and she made everyone feel so welcome and done everything she could to make sure our experience was a good one will definitely return

Visited 23rd of May 2019. Very disappointed with the food and management. The bar staff and waitresses were were very courteous and embarrassed by there manager.

Visited on Saturday and couldn’t fault the food or the staff, great selection of drinks available including the new strawberry and lime gin!! Fantastic service

Bad management to run out of glasses in this day and age. Never in my years of drinking this has never happened.

The menu was new, recently returned from holiday and as we usually use this pub once a week, we decided to call in.

I was in Wednesday tea time, we rang up to book a table of 10 but there was already 2 party’s of the same amount booked and got told we could just come in and chance it and luckly we got our table! The young girl on the bar was very helpful and patient with us (I think she was called Amiee) as we had a lot we wanted ordered, although there was a lot of things off the menu that they didn’t have she mixed things around and tried her best to give us what we wanted! The lady serving us was lovely, she tried her best to get everything out all together, she was very friendly and made us very welcome! Safe to say our little girl had a very good birthday! X

Cant fault this place for service and value for money. But the food is very lacking. Often come here and there is always something missing from the menu. Steak this time so a lot of dishes were not available. The sausages were burnt and not edible.

Nice food, with a good selection. Service was fantastic with the kids being given little crayons and colouring sheets. It was a Saturday and busy but didn’t wait too long. Would definitely come back.

We used to frequent the Prince of Wales regularly, but the old landlady made the atmosphere terrible, so we stopped going. We then heard she was leaving and the pub was being renovated. Friends went on to tell us that the food was now lovely after the renovation and the atmosphere had improved greatly, so we said we'd visit.

Popped in for a pint and left after not being served for 15 minutes. It seems the locals being loud at the bar and swearing gets them priority. Fair enough we don't go in often but it's definitely gone downhill. Won't be back in a hurry, there's plenty of other choices.

I cam here with my partner recently and the food was great. It was easy to get a drink and everything was really well priced. The service was great. We go here a lot and it never dissapints.

Decent cheap steak and ok selection of drinks. I had a dipped steak and it was nice. Nothing much to write home about but an ok chain pub.

5 in party burgers were buy one get one free, we all had a variety from scampi, burgers, steak, chicken, a little wait on food but not overlong also a wait at the bar for drinks could do with another pair of hands at bar, waitress was excellent clearing table as required 3 of us had sweets not a big choice but were good, only thing was when you got bill there was just the total price on it nothing itemised I emailed green king and they said that when you order they should ask if you require an itemised bill and they will give you one no problem really good night and the waitress got a nice tip thankyou

When for BOGOF Burgers. Prior to ordering asked if there was a wait, told 'Chef said no' by the only other server. ordered two burgers with special dietry requirements (no slaw, cheese, etc nothing life threatening). 40 minutes later food arrived (after asking member of staff after 30mins) with incorrect fries (paid for upgrade fries). Shambles from start to finish, shame sober customers have to sit next to drunken (non eating) customers and foul language is not what I wanted to hear during my meal (more drinkers than diners )The POKER night set up representative swearing that his tables were not cleaned!Filled out company feedback but guess that goes a wash! avoid on a tea time
