Food was very average. Assumed it would be nice considering how busy it was.

Sensational! Food was so good, the service was excellent too, only feedback I would share is that the wait for food took a while, but worth the wait as everything was fresh and piping hot.

This place is always busy book your table. Food always good.

Had a lovely fish pie, chips and apple crumble with custard here. The premises were great and well maintained. The staff were also very efficient and friendly too. A great place to have a meal.

Fab Thali, all excellent dishes, and great value, all served with a smile. If anything, there was just a bit too much food for one, I couldn’t quite finish it. £15 with a beer incl, what more could you ask for…

Always great beer and top quality food

A group of six, we showed up in the middle of winter, with no great expectation, but had a wonderful meal in the bar. Food was delicious and plentiful, and prices were very reasonable. Service was great, and the pub had the atmosphere of a good pub for locals. Every one of us said we would come back again..a nice day out.

Food is usually good but the room can get noisy when big parties are in. Caution: always check your bill as on a number of occasions they added things never ordered 🤨 Edit: things have improved, billing is usually accurate, though that only as it should be.

Not that much space, but lovely food and staff are also great. Their roasts are great. Only downside is the seating isn't comfortable and leg space isn't good. Can't fault the food or service

We chose for the regular menu. Excellent food, great portions very good value for money. Had a pudding but wasn't really needed. Drinks also not over the top on price

Great square table for our Christmas group lunch thank you My main meal was venison steak which was so very tuff I discreetly took my plate to the waitress & respectfully explained this and didn’t want to disrupt the rest of our group The manageress came to our table & said fairly loudly that they had been serving this dish to a large number of people & no one has ever complained My reply was ok but this venison is tuff another member our group said hers was inedible & again I said I didn’t want to disrupt our group meal the manageress went away Whilst eating our dessert the manageress came back I quietly suggested we move away from the table A partial discount was offered & she thought the venison wasn’t a good cut Fare enough However the attitude from management wasn’t receptive & appropriate.

Christmas meal with family, two of our party served, the remaining three of us served some considerable time later to the extent that the first couple were almost finished by the time rest of us were served. Apparently the kitchen got the order wrong even though we booked and ordered in advance with deposit paid from the Christmas menu. We have dined at this venue several times and always been very pleased, on this Christmas celebratory occasion very very disappointed.

Was really nice food good nice to visit we're we used to go when younger

My wife and I had the Sunday Lunch for the 1st time with my family, as it was my Birthday, we were delighted. I had the Roast Chicken and my wife had the Braised Blade of Beef. Both dishes were delicious. The service was excellent. We usually go occasionally during the week and I treat myself to the fish and chips and my wife has the scampi which we always enjoy. Always best to book ahead. Great Children's menu.

Nice meal, good service, found the extra carbs potato wedges in the burger a bit strange. Two of us had the tuna special which was tasty but overdone. Overall good and would return.

The starters and desserts were really good, the mains were not up to the standard of our last visit. I suspect that my food had been waiting in the kitchen for a while , waiting for the other meal to be ready. It wasn’t particularly warm . In fairness, I didn’t complain and ate my food. The restaurant was busy and noisy and where we were sitting was on a thoroughfare from the hotel rooms and the kitchen. Avoid this table if you possibly can.

Good food. Service was a little slower than usual but we did spring an extra person on them last minute.

Just had a wonderful meal here whilst staying nearby. What a lovely atmosphere with a candlelit table. All staff that served us were so friendly and welcoming. My partner had the steak and ale pie and said it was amazing, the portion was very generous. I had the steak and onion sandwich which was delicious. I would recommend booking as it was a Tuesday night and was pretty much full. With 2 decent sized meals, 2 gins and 2 pints, it came to just over £50 which I think was reasonably priced and definitely worth every penny. 100% recommend and so glad we stumbled upon it. Will definitely return and drive the 40 mins to get there again.

Always fab food and very rarely not rammed busy. Parking can be an issue as it spills along the road

Been here a few times , for Sunday roast lunch and dinner on a week night , Sunday roast dinner was excellent with very pleasant service but i had the classic beef stroganoff one night and was really quite surprised when it arrived , the dish didn't even resemble a classic beef stroganoff , instead of the a sour cream sauce/gravy it came with a barbecue sauce and was quite difficult to find any beef that was hiding under the mushrooms , wasn't a classic that night

Food was terrible 2nd time in a month !! Won't be going again

The wife and I visited yesterday. Lovely place with nice staff. Only downside was the Sunday roast was too salty, too much gravy. Would have been better if gravy was separate and you could put your own on, instead of the food being drowned in it. Also they want a review on Open Table which wants all your information just to make a review. Read the reviews for Open Table to see what a scam outfit they are

4 meals ordered. All different. But the quality of each meal was fabulous. Great service from the staff too.

Incredible venue. Outside staff were friendly and welcoming. Very talented young man DJing and great atmosphere, unfortunately didn’t carry through to the inside as bar staff seemed sour. (Felt the same yesterday). Land lady also very friendly. Food was 5* and would highly recommend. Very fresh!! Will be visiting again.

We were well looked after by all the staff, and the food was spot on. I had fish and chips which was very good. The others in my party had lamb, beef & fish that just fell off the bones and were so tender they loved them. We will definitely be back, and one of the party has been back already. Well done 👏👏👏

Really enjoyed the food, little let down with the service, two very young girls who unfortunately just seemed to wander around and was difficult to get the attention of so often went without a drink. Nice portions, really well cooked food and will return

Booked in advance for a family reunion dinner. Sat around the big table for 8, perfect. The email responses to our questions were speedy when we booked. The service was excellent, the young servers and not so young did a great job. All 8 of us enjoyed our meals- and the liquid refreshments. Thanks very much for accommodating us. Andy C

Wow what a wonderful place to eat. The food was amazing 😍. Service is very good good knowledge of the food and drinks they're serving polite at all times. Inside and outside seating also has covered outside seating area, pleasant atmosphere and dog friendly. Top marks. Value for money.

We had a lovely stay at The Legh Arms, the accommodation was beautiful, food was amazing and the staff were awesome, our young waitress Paige was fabulous such a gorgeous young lady, would highly recommend this venue.

Lovely place the service was very good and polite food was really good and tasty portion size was more than enough.

Visited yesterday. We enjoyed two lovely meals. I had the sea bass with prawns potatoes and veg. The conservatory restaurant has a good feel to it all tables were full. The staff are very attentive and friendly. I would definitely return again. I recommend booking well in advance. Julie deserves a lot of credit. Thank you

Highly recommended, Today my friend and I had the pleasure of enjoying a first-class home cooked lunch served by absolutely delightful staff, The relaxing atmosphere and surroundings certainly enhanced the experience the prices are very reasonable, we most certainly will be dining here again.

Popped in for a quick pint, lovely venue, attentive staff. Would have stayed longer but I was working.

We ate here last summer (2023) and had the most wonderful Lamb Kleftiko ever. I've tried to reproduce it at home with limited success, so, I emailed the Legh Arms to check if it was back on the 'specials' menu. Milly kindly informed me it was and I made the booking with Grace for last Thursday. Spectacular does not do this dish justice. I commented as such and Jack, the head chef (and owner I think) came out to discuss how I might get close to his perfection (little hope). The fact Jack was willing to be so helpful is a powerful reminder of the good stuff in life. My wife had the small belly pork bites as a main rather than a starter as she eats far less than me. She and I thought they were incredible as well. Great selection of wines, my Malbec was very good, my wife's Pinot Grigio blush equally so. Guiness Zero to start and a J2O made for a meal well worth the 28 mile journey each way. This restaurant knows how to provide great food at very good prices and in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff. All boxes ticked. We shall be back again without question. Thank you all.

Now the only place we will go alongside blue bar in Porthtowen. This place is 10/10. Even if the basset was still open, and the Atlantic were not playing games with service/menu …. We would still go as no.1 choice. Team are great, chef & kitchen brilliant, owners lovely, fun vibe and atmosphere and the interiors are also lovely. Love it 😻

We had a mix of food from the menu including ribeye steak, chicken fish and the steak and rib combo. All absolutely delicious. The £10 wine bottle offer was good too, lovely staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Wow! As a party of four with one very fussy eater and one with multiple intolerances we were all catered for so well. Food was incredible. Quick service, quality food, ample portions and great variety. I personally had the ale-battered cod and the Treacle & Walnut Tart, both of which were exceptional.

Quite disappointed as we've ate here about 6 times and at Xmas I had to send my burger back as it was raw and you kind of understand Xmas due to the restaurant being at full capacity but on Friday it was half full and it's the last time we will visit unfortunately. We were shown to our table and our drinks order was taken quickly but nobody came to take our food order so I asked a young lady and she came over. I asked for the steak and ribs with chubby chips, and I was 100% specific. Steak and ribs need to be well done. I explained I won't eat pink meat... This is a simple request. Unfortunately, my steak was pink, and the chips were under cooked they were pale, so I only ate half of a £19 meal. As I remained hungry, I ordered a dessert of sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. Oh my gosh, it was microwaved to an inch of its life and rock hard. I couldn't push my spoon into it. I called the waitress over and asked her if she could slice through the cake and her reply was "oh yer that's hard it's been left in too long, let me get you another one" which I quickly declined and asked for the sweet to be removed off the bill. Overall we are very disappointed and even though this is local we won't be returning sadly as it used to be great but not anymore. Inexperienced very young staff and poor delivery of food. No thanks

All food was cooked well, it was lovely and hot and the service was excellent especially considering there was a party of 20 in at the same time. Wait for food was non existent and the atmosphere was lovely and festive.
