Had the best chicken Caesar salad I've ever eaten. Delicious! Will definitely return. Lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly staff too. The chef Pete is fantastic!

Visited this place today and what a little gem of a place it is. Firstly it is very welcoming and instantly makes you feel very comfortable. I stayed for the roast dinner which was amazing and probably one of the best roast I have ever had. Good quality food and not overpriced. The two girls behind the bar are lovely and the barman (Martyn) is fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming to everyone and is clearly very good at his job. Would highly recommend and will be back again soon.

Wow genuinely blown away today. Restaurant level food and service but with zero pretence and at a fraction of the cost. Always apprehensive at veering away from the home cooked roast but we did just that today and had an amazing dining experience that is completed at odds with what normally transpires when a family of 3 parts with their hard earned in pursuit of simply well cooked food served by nice people in a decent environment. So often this is ruined by the usual chain outlets with the all too familiar shortfalls. What Portovini somehow manages to do is create an environment that is a welcoming bar, wholesome restaurant, child/pet friendly pub with live sports amongst friendly locals that is family run, holds event nights and not only offers affordable Sunday roasts but makes them world class. Tastes, flavours and combinations I didn’t know existed let alone be added to the sacred Sunday roast menu. I don’t know, maybe I don’t get out as much as I used to but there is something about this place. Go and see for yourself before things evolve, this industry is changeable and unpredictable and the good places need our support.

An exceptional Sunday lunch. Three different meals. Warm goats cheese salad,crab cakes,hammock terrine as appetizers. All Three dishes beautifully presented and very flavoursome. The mains likewise, roasted cauliflower, roast beef and roast chicken. Cauliflower full of flavour, both the beef and chicken cooked to perfection, tender, melt in the mouth,as were the yorkshire puddings,vegetables superb. Unfortunately to full for dessert. Service friendly and efficient. A Gem of a find. Can't wait to return.

New owner is really nice and went out of his way to get his staff member to make us Floater coffees even though they are not serving food yet. Owner seems really nice as well as his young staff. Barman not so warm and friendly but is efficient and works hard.

We have visited Portovino many times since it open about 6 months ago. The food is always fabulous, the owner and staff are very hospitable and it has a lovely atmosphere. As an added bonus it’s literally around the corner from where we live.

Great food and drink and very good staff. They even had really good alcohol free beer for my daughter who was driving.We all had a good evening there. Would highly recommend.

Lunch was beautiful - Buttermilk chicken was gorgeous Dinner - Pizza Canadian maple ham and pineapple - just right not heavy syrup Pizza Salmon asparagus - beautiful good amount of filling Lovely atmosphere and the staff were so lovely we'll be back very soon

Had a family lunch here the food was so good the place looks great and will be going back much more often
