Stopped here after a visit to The Minack Theatre and what a disappointment, ordered what was described as a vegetable flatbread and a steak pastry, both extremely overpriced but the flatbread could only be described as a cheap pizza you would buy from a leading supermarket and heat up, after taking two bites I decided to speak to staff who were extremely rude and condescending saying I could buy something else and surely I didn’t expect a refund! When we tried to have another word the waitress agreed it wasn’t as described but insisted it was a flatbread and that I had eaten half of it, which was not the case. The manager said she was busy and refused to speak to us. Its hardly a beach cafe either, you can’t even see the beach it’s right on the road with no view at all, take a picnic or just walk by if you don’t want to be ripped off !

An over-priced cafe, with an extremely misleading menu. What was described as a flatbread with various vegetables was simply a small rectangular vegetable pizza from frozen for £8.50. After my mum took two bites of this pizza, she decided to speak to the staff. When I overheard the conversation, the manager was rude and extremely condescending towards her. She was unsympathetic and suggested she bought another item if she disliked it. When my mum mentioned it was also cold, the manager listed off reasons why this was impossible, ignoring any other comments my mum politely tried to discuss. As this was a lunch I was treating my mum to, I decided to try to speak to the staff instead. I suggested to the waitress I should speak to the manager about my issue as this was who my mum spoke to. Instead, she said she could help - I explained again it was really not as described and I was surprised another item wasn’t offered when my mum took it back (or even discounted to purchase something else). The waitress insisted it was a flatbread but agreed she would be disappointed by it too, but because my mum ate half of it there was nothing they could do. I explained she absolutely did not eat half, which she then argued back saying it was half in a rude manner (I was shocked by her manner towards me). I asked to speak to the manager and she replied that she was busy and I would have to wait. The waitress then proceeded to go to the kitchen complaining about me to the manager which I overheard, which in itself is incredibly shocking. I waited a while but it was clear the manager was going to continue to ignore me. Don’t waste your time going to this place, walk on by and pack a picnic.

We visited here on the off chance as the sea was too rough to go in. I’m so glad we did. It seems to be the norm here in Cornwall as the hospitality at all the places I have visited has been exceptional, and the beach cafe was no exception. The menu provided ample options. We went for the pulled pork and pineapple flatbread. It was very nice, with a hint of spice and a side salad. The price, £8.50, is very reasonable. The cafe is very clean with outdoor seating with a parasol to keep you out of the sun or dry. It does rain in Cornwall too! All in all a very good find. Congratulations to all the staff who made our short stay very welcoming

Having seen several interesting items on their online menu, we walked in last week hoping for a big vegan breakfast. Immediately found the atmosphere flatlining. Barely a smile from one girl behind the counter then barely a hello from the girl who came out from the kitchen, we were interrupting her, clearly. "Sorry".. . I gave a friendly greeting but that had no effect. I forgot my glasses and couldn't make out the chicken scratch on the board above the counter, so I asked what breakfast items there were.."bacon, eggs.." I specified vegan and she said, "salad??" so I walked out. I was so angry I cried, they saw this, commented loud enough for me to hear from the outside and then laughed. -_- So she was either anti-tourist, anti-vegan and/ or just plain anti- being awake. . I wrote *someone* at the email address provided on the website sharing what I have here and haven't heard back. And nothing has gone to spam. Great customer service-1 "'Team' Porthcurno 'Beach' Cafe"- 0 They can get away with this because of LOCATION. It should be a crime in the business world.

We stayed just a few minutes walk away from the cafe, so it was an ideal spot to visit for coffee and snacks. It’s positioned at the bottom of the hill opposite the turn off to walk down to the beach. Staff are friendly and while the menu was limited the food was very nice. We have tried the cream tea, Cornish pasty, baguette and also ice creams from the ice cream bar. The outdoor seating area is lovely and a great spot to sit and unwind. There also beach supplies inside. A really nice little cafe that I’d fully recommend stopping for brunch or refreshments. Beers, wine, cider are also served and I’d recommend the Muscle pot white wine for those who enjoy a nice cold Sauvignon.

Fairly nice area but the service was mediocre and the food was worse. Service staff were friendly enough but customers had to collect their food in a noisy environment which meant most missed their call and the staff had to come out anyway. The food came wrapped as if for takeout rather than on plates which resulted in receiving a cream tea.. in a cardboard box. The scone actually tasted quite good and was soft and moist, however there was only jam enough for one side and cream (which also was only OK) enough for three or four! As for the veggie pasty, bland, bland, pepper, bland. The pastry was more like bread, chewy and lacking all buttery-ness and the filling was less vegetable, more potato with black pepper and some red peppers and onion thrown in as an afterthought. At least it was warm Tea was nothing special, if you like it very strong you'll be happy but it was just a Yorkshire teabag in a takeaway cup. Food 2 stars because the scone tasted nice. Service, passable. Atmosphere, good, but I wouldn't pay to go there again. No, I would bring a packed lunch and sit on the other side of the road.

The cafe is based near Porthcurno beach, a good place to get some respite from what can be a busy beach. There is a carpark next to the cafe, obviously busy so take time to find a place. The road leading to the cafe can get congested as it goes to the theatre. The ice cream comes in a range of flavours; vanilla, salted caramel and cookies and cream. Even though I bought a scoop they were generous and filled a whole cone. The cream tea came fresh, with an option of a coffee or tea. The food was a good refresher from walking along the beach and up the steps.

Nice little cafe. We ordered the crab sandwich which was on special as its local crab. The crab itself was nice, but it was served on a bagette which I think was one of those you finish of in oven from the supermarket. Bit too small and a bit boring. The price for this was £15 which is steep. I'm all for paying the extra for the local crab, but this seems too much. It's a shame the food that comes from just round the corner is so much dearer than the food that travels half way around the world.

Any Cornish trip is not complete without a cream tea so, on our last day, having been climbing at nearby Chair Ladder, we Googled and found this. Pity. The first disappointment is that despite the name it's not at a beach - the sea can barely be seen from here. The "tea" provided the next disappointment. Tea comprising a teabag in a cardboard cup and a reheated mass produced scone in a cardboard box with catering pots of jam and cream does not come up to expectations. At over £6 per person it compared very very badly with the equivalent on offer at our next port of call, the wonderful Logan Rock Inn at Treen where a 'proper' cream tea i.e. FRESH scone, jam and cream with A POT OF TEA served on and in CROCKERY can be had for £5 per person.

Lovely location, not bad pasties, but the owner is offhand to put it mildly especially if you arrive about 10 minutes before they are closing. considering the prices and the location I would expect better service

A must visit cafe, you could easily feel abroad with the sun and a beer/ice cream! Lots of nice food available and a reasonably priced bucket and spade.

Eenvoudig café met terras waar men ook wat kan eten. Koffie of thee in wegwerpbekers en taart in kartonnen doos maar wel lekker. Wel prijzig.

Doesn't accept cash. I do wonder if the card machines went down, would cash be accepted then?

Popped in for a quick coffee & cake, pleasantly surprised as both were very good, in particular the beetroot cake which was home made.

A perfectly sited cafe with a nice selection of homemade sandwiches and cakes. The ice creams looked good too. I enjoyed a fresh scone in my cream tea. It was clean and bright, friendly service and a high chair and changing table for our baby....

Unbeatable location with views out to sea and only a few minutes walk from Porthcurno Beach. Welcoming and friendly owner and staff, good food and reasonable prices. Opened last weekend for the 2022 season and we'll be back there ASAP.

Went in for a Sunday Roast with my family. We had a reservation and were seated early which was nice. However, after waiting several minutes no one took our drink order so we went to the bar. The bartender was overwhelmed with orders, had no help and service was obviously slow. We wait 30+ minutes to be given notification it was our turn to queue for the carvery. 3 groups who arrived after us were served before us; frustrating. The food was nice. No one returned to the table to check on us, take additional drink orders or take dessert requests. So overall, the carvery was nice but the service was poor, left a lot to be desired.

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the upstairs apartments. What a special view over polzeath. The apartment was clean and had a welcome pack for the dog. The staff were as always lovely. It truly was home from home. The Food was good too. Thanks to all of the team. 10/10

Really lovely place that is surprisingly bigger on the inside than it looks. The food was really good and easy to order via the website that was scanned on the menu.
