Incredible food, fish and chips were exceptional! Bbq pulled pork wonderful! Excellent Service with a smile😁 Will Definitely Come Again!

On holiday and decided to give this chippy a go. We dined in and had the set menu, haddock, chips, sauce and soft drink. It was cooked perfectly. Batter was crispy. Service was quick. The local ice cream was equally as delicious! Would highly recommend.

Great chips. Great fish. Lovely ladies serving. Ate in and sat outside on a few occasions over a 5 week stay in Padstow. Has Cod Roe - so im happy! Proper mushy peas, not smashed peas with mint 🤢 as found in St Mawes 😂😂😂 cooked in beef dripping. Served with tea and bread and butter available. For a Yorkshire lad to say this beats Whitby is hard to say - but true. Fast service also. Go have a look.

Organised a group of people to meet for a business lunch in the restaurant. We all enjoyed our meal and were looked after really well. All the food was of a good standard and everyone enjoyed their meals. Great value for good quality food compared to the local pubs.

Very poor and we’re locals. Batter on fish not cooked. Peas tasteless. I never have salt and vinegar but needed to add to make meal mildly palatable. Sticky table. Aftertaste of grease. Very disappointed and won’t return.

Shouldn’t be difficult to mess up a simple order of burger, chips and nuggets, but this place managed it quite comprehensively. Got home to find no chips in the order.

So, we have used this fish shop on and off for a number of years. I paid a visit last week and so have had time to reflect. DO NO SPEND YOU MONEY HERE! THIS PLACE IS THE WORST! I ordered a large portion of chips, half filled box, £5.50, and 6 Cod Bites, charged individually at £2. Well, what was served was the equivalent of scraps!! Asked for refund, they couldn't even get that right, STILL owe me £2, absolutely disgusting, a disgraceful attempt at robbing customers. The worst of it is I'm a local, so if they treat locals like this, what are they doing to holiday makers. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE DON'T GET SUCKERED IN BY THE NICE OUTSIDE MAKE THE EFFORT, HEAD IN TO NEWQUAY TO FLOUNDERS OR FRANCINE'S.... YOU WON'T BE MUGGED OFF BY CHILDREN BEHIND THE TILL WITH STRUGGLE WITH BASIC MATH AND SERVE PORTIONS YOUR CAT WOULD MOAN ABOUT!!!

Awful food and very very expensive for what it is? £34 to sit and eat fish n chips that wasn’t even nice and the batter and fish was over cooked and dry! We had to put our napkins on the table as it was so sticky !! We have been in the past lots of times and was good but we will not return and we are local Shame

Been visiting this fish & chip establishment for many years when in Cornwall on holiday & always recommend it to others! It changed hands a few years back but we still visited every time we were here. Unfortunately this will be the last time £28.80 for a takeaway for two, medium cod, looked more like small, large chips which were okay to be honest, £2.40 for two pickled onions no bigger than a ten pence piece! Mushy peas & a curry sauce! Fish was dry & batter was like cornflakes! Absolutely aweful experience! Will never return!

Used to live in the area 3 years ago and it used to be the best chipshop around ! Visited it this week and was really disappointed how down hill it had gone ! Couldn't belive it cost £16.50 for a portion of fish and chips so for 2 of us having fish and chips and a drink each it came to just under £40 !! Tip of the day take the food away dont eat in!!

Can't fault the customer service, portions are big but quite pricey. Although the chips were perfect temperature and texture they were very bland.

Went there yesterday, 15/09/2023. The worst Fish & Chips ever. The fish had no taste, the batter on the fish was soggy, the price I was charged was not as per the set menu. The staff were inatentive. There was no signage to advise you how to oreder or where to sit. The meal for 2 was chosen from the set menu at £17.50 per meal which was for Fish & Chips plus tea for 2. What I had to pay was some £4 more. When I asked why I had to pay more than the £17.50 per meal, as per the set menu, I was told I hadn't ordered from the set menu. I told tem I had ordered from the set menu but, I was told the order they had was from the ordinary menu. I didn't give them the order, the meals were ordered by me to a menber of their useless staff. Why would I order food which was at a higher price but, they were adamant and I did not to cause a fuss, I paid the amount they said I owed for the 2 meals. Horrible food, horrible disrepectful staff, horrible treatment. Avoid at all costs if to enjoy tasty, proper food. This palce, Port & Starboard, Indian Queens, is a complete disgrace and a stain on the previous wonderful, caring owners. I will never go there again.

Staying at the local campsite so thought give the local chippy a go , bad mistake ( should of had Chinese again ) Batter was so thick on everything , dripping in oil , chips were soggy and tasteless . I’m sure mushy peas ment to have some taste to them 🤔 . Had to feel sorry for the loaded chips at the bottom of the take away bag , looked like they had done 3 rounds with Tyson Fury . 60 odd pound wasted on family chippy tea . Won’t be recommending

Dreadful service, eating food couldnt wait to take our plates away, hovering around to take the plates and it was expensive.

We decided on take away and sat in the car park as the weather was warm. We are local to cornwall so have used this place numerous times. Won't be doing that again. An eye watering 23 pounds for two takeaway fish and chips and a carton of peas. Fish was so soggy it stuck to the bland even soggier soft chips. The worse we have tasted in a long time. All boxed up with a very small unusable 'folk' then placed in a carrier bag...such a waste...all to to thrown away - including the food on this occasion - and you can't even put your own salt and vinegar on and are told to step away from the counter when served. All overpriced and under achieving sadly. Not a good experience. Best keeping your hard earned cash in your pocket.

I used to absolutely love this take-away. Whenever I worked nearby, I would buy fish and chips on my way home. But it’s not as good as it used to be. I’m not sure if the original chef/owner has retired, but it was ALWAYS first class food when the older gentleman that used to cook the food was there. I haven’t seen him there over the last few years or so. Since then, the fish hasn’t been as good, it’s a lot smaller too. Even the chips are not as good as they were. Don’t get me wrong, the food wasn’t ‘that bad’ this time, just not as good as it used to be, especially for the price it’s gone up to. I’ve only marked them down one star, which is also due to the staff manners. The staff are sometimes well mannered, other times, like this week, they weren’t. No please or thank you when ordering, the young man now served me just wasn’t interested. For me, well mannered staff is important as well as the product I’m buying. This was my first time back for many months, and I’ve decided it will be my last. I was being optimistic and hoped it would be better again, but no, it wasn’t.

We called in for take away fish and chips on a rainy August evening. We were served quickly and took our food away to eat back at our camp site. The food was hot and fresh when opened. The fish, chicken nuggets, chips and mushy peas were all beautifully cooked and presented and tasted great!. Job well done thank you!

Not only was the fish the best I’ve ever had (and my local chippy is Anstruther) but the customer service is fantastic. Lovely friendly staff. We came in with our little girl and were made to feel so welcome. Definitely worth a visit.

The only fish & chip shop I have visited that all they can offer vegetarians or pescatarians is a jacket potato! You can’t even have a bag of chips! This is exceptionally poor considering it’s 2020.

We (a family of 50) were looking for somewhere to eat at tea time, but feared we were too late to book anywhere. Fortunately, Port and Starboard were able to provide us with this, having been given a mere 45 minutes notice; and on an 'Eat out to help out' day too!The standards of service and cleanliness were impeccable; the food quality superb, so I would highly recommend this to travellers in the area, even though it is a little off the main tourist track. (To my mind, this only serves to increase its appeal)

Pre-ordeered and was ready on time. Really tasty scampi, haddock and chips, would recommend. We did order curry sauce but got gravy, and our mushy peas were missing, so worth checking the order before driving away, but would visit again.

We've had 2 excellent quality take aways from here over the past couple of weeks. All the food was freshly cooked and beautiful quality. Portions were also very generous and the service was very efficient. Only minor grumble is probably my own silly error: New order online system is great and keeps everyone safe with Covid, but I'm not impressed that it auto saves card details and it is an opt out rather than opt in system to avoid this - as I ordered on my phone that kept dropping signal it wasn't obvious and I missed this detail, i now can't see how to remove my card from being saved to the site, which I'm never happy about. 100% recommend this venue, thanks for such great quality food, we will definitely be back.
