Spontaneous visit based on what fish and chip takeaways were in the area we were staying and on reviews. Absolutely fantastic fish and chips. Great taste, great quality, generous and very fresh. Well done on your great standards. Very very impressed customer!

Used to live in the area 3 years ago and it used to be the best chipshop around ! Visited it this week and was really disappointed how down hill it had gone ! Couldn't belive it cost £16.50 for a portion of fish and chips so for 2 of us having fish and chips and a drink each it came to just under £40 !! Tip of the day take the food away dont eat in!!

Can't fault the customer service, portions are big but quite pricey. Although the chips were perfect temperature and texture they were very bland.

Went there yesterday, 15/09/2023. The worst Fish & Chips ever. The fish had no taste, the batter on the fish was soggy, the price I was charged was not as per the set menu. The staff were inatentive. There was no signage to advise you how to oreder or where to sit. The meal for 2 was chosen from the set menu at £17.50 per meal which was for Fish & Chips plus tea for 2. What I had to pay was some £4 more. When I asked why I had to pay more than the £17.50 per meal, as per the set menu, I was told I hadn't ordered from the set menu. I told tem I had ordered from the set menu but, I was told the order they had was from the ordinary menu. I didn't give them the order, the meals were ordered by me to a menber of their useless staff. Why would I order food which was at a higher price but, they were adamant and I did not to cause a fuss, I paid the amount they said I owed for the 2 meals. Horrible food, horrible disrepectful staff, horrible treatment. Avoid at all costs if to enjoy tasty, proper food. This palce, Port & Starboard, Indian Queens, is a complete disgrace and a stain on the previous wonderful, caring owners. I will never go there again.

Staying at the local campsite so thought give the local chippy a go , bad mistake ( should of had Chinese again ) Batter was so thick on everything , dripping in oil , chips were soggy and tasteless . I’m sure mushy peas ment to have some taste to them 🤔 . Had to feel sorry for the loaded chips at the bottom of the take away bag , looked like they had done 3 rounds with Tyson Fury . 60 odd pound wasted on family chippy tea . Won’t be recommending

Dreadful service, eating food couldnt wait to take our plates away, hovering around to take the plates and it was expensive.

We decided on take away and sat in the car park as the weather was warm. We are local to cornwall so have used this place numerous times. Won't be doing that again. An eye watering 23 pounds for two takeaway fish and chips and a carton of peas. Fish was so soggy it stuck to the bland even soggier soft chips. The worse we have tasted in a long time. All boxed up with a very small unusable 'folk' then placed in a carrier bag...such a waste...all to to thrown away - including the food on this occasion - and you can't even put your own salt and vinegar on and are told to step away from the counter when served. All overpriced and under achieving sadly. Not a good experience. Best keeping your hard earned cash in your pocket.

I used to absolutely love this take-away. Whenever I worked nearby, I would buy fish and chips on my way home. But it’s not as good as it used to be. I’m not sure if the original chef/owner has retired, but it was ALWAYS first class food when the older gentleman that used to cook the food was there. I haven’t seen him there over the last few years or so. Since then, the fish hasn’t been as good, it’s a lot smaller too. Even the chips are not as good as they were. Don’t get me wrong, the food wasn’t ‘that bad’ this time, just not as good as it used to be, especially for the price it’s gone up to. I’ve only marked them down one star, which is also due to the staff manners. The staff are sometimes well mannered, other times, like this week, they weren’t. No please or thank you when ordering, the young man now served me just wasn’t interested. For me, well mannered staff is important as well as the product I’m buying. This was my first time back for many months, and I’ve decided it will be my last. I was being optimistic and hoped it would be better again, but no, it wasn’t.

We called in for take away fish and chips on a rainy August evening. We were served quickly and took our food away to eat back at our camp site. The food was hot and fresh when opened. The fish, chicken nuggets, chips and mushy peas were all beautifully cooked and presented and tasted great!. Job well done thank you!

Spotlessly clean and friendly service Stopped in for breakfast and had lovely poached eggs on toast. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, will definitely be back for a full breakfast which looked delicious

Not only was the fish the best I’ve ever had (and my local chippy is Anstruther) but the customer service is fantastic. Lovely friendly staff. We came in with our little girl and were made to feel so welcome. Definitely worth a visit.

We was on holiday and was looking for a local chip shop near the campsite for a takeaway. Prices are a bit expensive for the portion sizes you get. The two sausages we had were over cooked so not fully edible. The chips was nice but can do with just bigger portions.

We (a family of 50) were looking for somewhere to eat at tea time, but feared we were too late to book anywhere. Fortunately, Port and Starboard were able to provide us with this, having been given a mere 45 minutes notice; and on an 'Eat out to help out' day too!The standards of service and cleanliness were impeccable; the food quality superb, so I would highly recommend this to travellers in the area, even though it is a little off the main tourist track. (To my mind, this only serves to increase its appeal)

The only fish & chip shop I have visited that all they can offer vegetarians or pescatarians is a jacket potato! You can’t even have a bag of chips! This is exceptionally poor considering it’s 2020.

Pre-ordeered and was ready on time. Really tasty scampi, haddock and chips, would recommend. We did order curry sauce but got gravy, and our mushy peas were missing, so worth checking the order before driving away, but would visit again.

We've had 2 excellent quality take aways from here over the past couple of weeks. All the food was freshly cooked and beautiful quality. Portions were also very generous and the service was very efficient. Only minor grumble is probably my own silly error: New order online system is great and keeps everyone safe with Covid, but I'm not impressed that it auto saves card details and it is an opt out rather than opt in system to avoid this - as I ordered on my phone that kept dropping signal it wasn't obvious and I missed this detail, i now can't see how to remove my card from being saved to the site, which I'm never happy about. 100% recommend this venue, thanks for such great quality food, we will definitely be back.

Wow what can I say fish n chips at its best Visited with my family and was greeted with smiling friendly faces.Very Covid conscious Which was very reassuring.Food was outstanding and there was 5 of us all having something different and everyone enjoyed what they had.I ordered a large cod and chips and was served 2 Apparently small cod as they had run out of large but wow on seeing the size of the portions the small would of been enough.If you are around this area go out your way to eat here.

Always go here for take away chips and they are always tasty. With the click and collect service at the moment is means you don't have to leave your car which is great. The staff are ways so friendly as well. Decided to try a burger tonight as I fancied one. It was very tasty and the roll was fluffy and chewy if that makes sense the type of roll you want with a take away burger. However, I paid £1.40 extra for cheese which was a tiny slice of "plastic cheese" that wasn't on the burger straight and didn't cover the whole burger. You could multiple packs of burger cheese in a shop for that price. In a restaurant its usually around 50/75p for cheese on a burger so £1.40 for a tiny piece is crazy. Other than that I always find the food lovely.

Whilst previous visits have been good, particularly when eating ‘in’, we had a takeaway this week that was average at best. At least half the chips were underdone, fish was average and sausages in batter were overdone. P&S is usually worth paying ‘the extra’ for, but we were disappointed with the food this week.

Ordered 3 cheesy chips to take away. Chips were cold and the vinegar was so strong tasting. The chips also tasted burnt. They didn't look burnt but the taste was awful. Had to go buy a chocolate bar after to get rid of the taste. Boy that served me was polite and the price was reasonable

We used to visit this lovely fish and chip shop regularly and it was amazing years ago, first visit in a long time and won’t be returning , sat in restaurant which was freezing , curry sauce was very thick and gloopy , chips some were ok some were hard , fish was lovely but when you have fish n chips you want it to be worth it , the batter was very thin so you couldn’t experience it being lovely and crispy with the fish , wouldn’t say it was horrible but not the nicest I’ve had especially when it costs £27 for 2 people .
