This is a café in a setting that supports people with learning disabilities so it has a lovely atmosphere all of it's own. The café part has only recently reopened after closing in lockdown and the new café manager is a great cook and baker and is passionate about the food that she serves. There are lots of drinks on offer including for little ones. Call in for breakfast, lunch, drinks, cakes. Food can also be boxed up for takeaway for local workers. Vegan and gluten free options. Food can even be blended for customers who need it. Dog friendly, disability friendly. The building houses the only Changing spaces toilet in Penzance.

Nice group of people who volunteer. I did hear the management being rather derogatory towards a disabled volunteer. Nice food and drink.

I bought a flat in the same building as Poppies and it was cheaper for me to eat at Poppies than make the food for myself. I have had many dishes and all have been nice. Yes it isn't 5 star dining, but it is good, home-cooked food at more than fair prices. You will meet nice people, both the staff and other customers. Customer service has always been exemplary, nothing is too much bother. Try the bread pudding with custard, you won't be sorry!

Friendly community space, sit and drink a coffee, read a book, speak to people. Very handy when out shopping, a retreat and sit down for a break.

The best prices on real good home cooked food in Penzance. Seriously, you cannot make the food at home for less, and I certainly cannot cook this well!

I have been visiting poppies for a few months enjoying the food that represents really good value for money, in January I became a vegetarian (a morel choice) And I told the chef this, despite the meat based menu I still went back because it was a very comfortable for a pit stop, For 3 days I went in on the bounce, and to my surprise everything on the menu was vegetarian and it was very good value for money and the food tasted great, this cafe' also is a safe venue for adults with learning disabilities and is a place were they can feel safe. I would recommend it to anyone

We came across a street board, with an advert for this café, and thought we would give it a try, they only do 3 main meals, but have a very good selection of cakes, with a good selection of drinks. The food was excellent, we had the pasta. Go and have a look, we will recommend.

Love the staff. Love the pictures and the art and crafts in here. Cheap food, good quality coffee. All home made each day. I go in here as often as possible. And recommend to everyone. Can't believe that this place can make any profit at their prices. Never disappointed.

On my holiday,I found this cafe by chance on a rainy day-nearly passed by without seeing it. I went in and was surprised at the prices; Hot beverages for 1 Pound, and meals extremely cheap. I had coffee and cake, and baked potatoe when I went a second time with a friend. The cafe is clean and the stuff is very friendly. It is run by PRC Outreach who support handicapted people. There is also a meeting point in the cafe for them. Would recommend this very much, will definetely return!

My sister took me here for lunch whilst I was visiting her. Loved the food, the cost, the setting and the concept of a community cafe. Exceptional value and service. I think the cost was £5 for 2 meals with a side salad, including a fabulous home made coleslaw, and 2 drinks. I would highly recommend Poppies.

I love this place - to me it is everything a community cafe should be. Reasonably priced drinks and cakes, a selection of snacks for lunch, friendly staff and spotlessly clean too. I took my sister and we had 2 cold drinks, a vegetable lasagne and small salad, flan and small salad for £5. Yes £5! Both the flan and lasagne were tasty - obviously not huge portions but adequate for a light lunch. There is day room attached that accommodates people with disabilities so the facilities are excellent for anyone with additional needs. So lovely to have an inclusive cafe. I would recommend this to anyone shopping in Penzance. Head towards Causeway Head, walk down Bread Street and its a few streets down on the left hand side.
