Lovely homely village pub in the centre of the village, both socially and geographically. A nice selection of beers and spirits, served by cheerful and friendly staff. An absolute corker of a ploughman's and a pint rounded off a lovely visit. Would recommend again and again.

Visited on 3 occasions whilst in the area on a long weekend break! Didn’t stay at the pub/hotel. This very old pub is fantastic! Good selection of beers and a lovely chatty owner/ barman who was very proud of the pub and its long history! Dog friendly with treats and water available! Local clients very friendly also! Sunday breakfast was great! Staff were lovely and welcoming! Wish it was my local!!

Unfortunately we couldn't stay because food isn't served until 6 p.m. and Indian food was also served that evening. However, we received very friendly help from locals who called a neighboring restaurant specifically for us. I would love to come here again and from what I hear the food here is fabulous.

Perfect choice for our visit to RAF Odiham for families day. As we live 3.5hrs away we needed somewhere close to the base we could stay the night before. This was ideal. Housed in converted stables, as you open the door (No.1), there are a few steps up to the sleeping area, with a small double bed (which was very comfortable), a small consul table with tea, coffee and kettle (the biscuits were a nice touch) and a small unit for hanging coats, clothes and storing shoes/bags. At the back is a small shower room with sink and toilet, towels and toiletries provided. There is a small skylight above the bed, which you can open using the long handle provided. Plenty of plug sockets for charging phones etc. There is WiFi, though a little unstable in the rooms, it worked much better in the pub. All in all, compact but so very comfortable. It's also very quiet, even with a busy pub and other guests staying. There is a large car park to the rear of the pub. The pub itself is a very traditional village pub, and for a Thursday night, it was busy but not rammed. There is also a lovely covered outside area with halogen heaters, which we sat in after our meal. Food is available but be warned, the website is not up to date and they have themed nights, Thursdays is Mexican. We thoroughly enjoyed the homemade fajitas, chilli and desserts. A full English breakfast (served between 7.30-9am, charges apply) can be ordered for the next morning, sadly we had to be on base by 7am, so missed out. Luckily Farnham is about 15mins away, we popped to Sainsbury before dinner and bought some porridge pots and bananas for our breakfast. RAF Odiham was a 10/15 minute drive away, so it made for an excellent overnight stop.

Booked the outside area of the pub at the back, which has a decking and cover which was ideal for my birthday. Had about 15 guests and there was still room for more, and although other pub-goers went through the garden to go into the pub from time to time, it felt like a very private event. Emma and Gaz sorted everything for us after I explained what I wanted, and had prepared loads of side dishes that I asked for. We had a few vegan and gluten free guests, and the team went out of their way to go hunt for such foods prior to the event, so they could cater for everyone. Gaz was on the bbq right there in the garden serving up amazing burgers and hotdogs. It was very reasonably priced and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday lunch! Will definitely be returning.

Will not be visiting again. Took the children after school to the garden. They were playing, we didn't realise they were playing around a BBQ (no signage to indicate there was a BBQ/ gas/ rooms) nor that the rooms were at the back of the garden. The owner (I assume) came through with her dog and was incredibly rude, telling the children off, having a go at us and finishing with "this isn't a playground" as she slammed her door closed. There was no need for the rudeness, she could have politely informed us it was dangerous and let us deal with ensuring the children didn't run behind the trellis (seems bizarre to be concerned about noise levels for the room, considering they are literally in a beer garden). There was no-one else in the garden, kids were being kids. If you don't want children in the pub, please make it a child free pub. Incredibly unprofessional, rude and unnecessary. Will not return and will ensure friends with children will be made aware they are not welcome to play there.

Heard from word of mouth of a small inn/pub nuzzled in a neighboring town, so felt the need to try out the food - couldn't have been more impressed, service was speedy but the quality did not falter; bavette steak was seasoned beautifully, served as a generous portion size with confit potatoes, creamed mushrooms, grilled tomato and a beautiful homemade peppercorn sauce. My partner had the vegetarian risotto (of which he is usually extremely let down by even genuine Italian restaurants attempts at making them flavoursome) The Plume of Feathers did not disappoint in this retrospect delivering a both flavoursome and creamy sauce all topped off with a beautiful presentation too! and we shall definitely be returning and spreading the word of this must visit lunch spot. Good selection of lagers/pale ales on tap and in my opinion very good value for money.

NOT IMPRESSED! Decided to do a 5 mile country walk starting and finishing in Crondall. The website highly recommended The Plume of Feathers, so phoned and booked a table for 2.00pm. Arrived at 1.40pm happy to sit a have a beer before any food. Our table was available but was told we couldn’t order until 2.00pm. No problem as we were looking forward to a drink. Went to the bar at 2.00pm and ordered food but after 30 minutes we were still waiting for any food so we enquired how long we would we’d have to wait. We were told that they had forgotten to order one of the meals but should be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. 15 minutes later with no food in sight we decided to leave! We are currently driving 40 minutes home, very hungry and looking forward to the Krispy Kreme Donut that’s in the fridge! Plume of Feathers is a complete waste of time!

Tried this pub for the first time for a meal, the occasion was my daughters birthday. Menu is limited especially for vegetarian. We had some bar snacks for a starter as did not fancy anything in the menu. After waiting over an hour (1 hour 15 minutes from point of order) we checked on the food and they had not even started it. Due to sickness they only had one person in the kitchen. I have worked in pubs and restaurants myself and would never have treated a customer this way. Not their fault but If they had been honest and upfront when we arrived we would have gone elsewhere to celebrate rather than sat there waiting for food never to arrive. They gave us the bar snacks free and said sorry come again. I will never do that. We were now very hungry, went to Ballerz, which is not a restaurant as it’s main business, ordered burgers which arrived 10 minutes and were delicious.

I do think they under play the burger though... it just looks like a burger on the menu.. but when you bite into it.... i need to know the secret!! It is amazing! Great food but the Sunday roast pricing is very confusing. It was pitched as a fixed price for main course and desert. I didn’t want a desert but was told there was no discount for not having one but the desert was discounted. Then after leaving I realised that the desert hadn’t been discounted and we’d been charged full price for the main and deserts we didn’t want! I’d rather just pay a fair price for the food I want rather than being obliged to take an unwanted course.

Emma, the new manager, introduced herself and made us welcome as soon as we arrived and told us that the menu was almost entirely locally sourced and homemade. We enjoyed three very reasonably priced courses and will certainly be returning. The favourite dishes in our party were the sausages and mash and the shepherds pie which were both very comforting on a cold wet day! All of the puddings went down a storm too - sticky toffee pudding, rhubarb, apple and berry crumble and chocolate brownie with a choice of ice cream or custard. The staff were attentive but not overbearing which added to a very nice lunch with the family. I’m looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch very soon. We stayed for 2 nights for a wedding in the area in July. We knew we would potentially be arriving after 11pm so called ahead the day prior. The guy I spoke to was very helpful and told us how to access our room. He also gave a useful bit of advice on how to get there from London as well as a taxi number to use. Overall the pub gives lovely traditional village vibes and the food was good for lunch. The staff who worked there were nice as well. The accommodation was simple & small but all we needed - only downside was there were quite a few dark curly hairs in the shower that needed hosed away and it could do with a new kettle. Overall would say it is good value for money.

Stumbled across this lovely pub whilst out on a walk with friends and our dog around the Crondall area. We were welcomed by a very friendly team of staff who nothing seemed too much trouble for. We sat in the outside area at the back which was lovely and quiet. The Sunday roast that we all had was fab. The lady who brought us our food was so friendly we chatted to her for ages about the pub, her dog, our dog etc which was lovely. We had so much food that we couldn’t finish it all but it felt criminal to leave behind the cauliflower cheese that was so good so the lady kindly packaged it up and gave it to us as we left to take with us which we thought was a lovely gesture. Social distancing and Covid regualtaions are all set up well, it felt very safe using all the facilities inside such as toilets and ordering drinks from the bar etc. This pubs offers a really quality service and one of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time.Thank you Plume of Feathers Team we will definitely be back to see you again!

We stayed her last weekend in Room 2 which is at the back of the pub in what appeared to be renovated stables. First impressions, it was small and cosy but had everything we needed for a two night break. The bed was comfortable, there was a small screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities and the size of the shower room was more than adequate. There are no windows here, there is a small skylight which was brilliant as it let in cooling air on a hot weekend. In fact the whole room was cool and a welcome relief from the outside heat. Although there are no windows the main door opens out onto a courtyard and you can take your tea/coffee outside as there are plenty of tables. We thought it might be busy & noisy, being a pub, but in fact it was the opposite, very peaceful and relaxing. We didn't have the breakfast in the pub ( can't always face a cooked breakfast ) . We did have an excellent Plume cheese burger meal with huge salad and chips ( which is one reason we didn't want breakfast, simply too full from the previous evening meal). The owners here are brilliant, very helpful and welcoming. We were up for a wedding locally but I would love to revisit and stay here again as the village of Crondall is simply breathtaking, a typical olde world English village. People here are very friendly. Parking on the street can be an issue but as we parked our car in the pub car park we were fine.To sum up, we loved it here. Can we come again please?

There is a reasonable selection of beer and wines. It took nearly an hour to get our starters and there was not any real explanation or apology for this. The meals were mostly very good, especially good was the steak. The Roast beef was very dry and disappointing but that may be a result of sitting down at 1:30. The portions are generous. The food was great and reasonably priced and the service was good, which was not surprising as we were the only ones in the restaurant. Finally we asked for the bill and we were surprised that 10% was added to everything, including the drinks from the bar that we ordered and collected at the bar. My wife and I, plus her brother and sister in law, popped in for a drink on a Sunday lunchtime. The place was not busy even though the pub did a sunday lunch menu. The pub is "olde worlde" (dating back several hundred years) and definitely has a certain charm. Even so I found the place soul-less and although the barmaid was friendly, the landlord/landlady seemed somewhat alloof and unwelcoming. I lived in the village 50 years ago and it was then a friendly, locals pub - this appears to have changed. Disappointing.

On booking in for our rooms and after a hard day traveling and working we needed sustenance and were seated in a very busy bar area and had view of the specials as well as the menu. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty. Choice was varied and service (on a very busy evening) was excellent. There was a quieter restaurant area for those booking in advance.

Been several times to this 16th Century Inn and have always left in two minds on returning. The pub is ideally located in the beautiful village of Crondall and comes highly recommended but I've tried coming going to the pub at several different times of the day and week and also different months and each time left deflated.

Reasonable food (soup of the day & a granary Brie & Bacon sandwich - very nice). Meal service was quite slow given that the pub was very quiet. Sad to see a very nice hound with his owners, who were obviously out for a weekend...

We were happy to return to The Plume of Feathers in Crondall after having drinks there last year with friends who live in the area. We knew it to be a friendly, clean and cozy pub where villagers of all sorts enjoy socializing and are incredibly welcome to newcomers. This year we were able to stay for dinner and enjoyed what ended up being the best pub meal we've ever had! I had the special Indian chicken curry with nan which was spectacular - not overly spicy and had the most perfectly cooked rice ever. The starter roasted figs with goat cheese and balsamic where fantastic and gobbled up by adults and kids alike. My husband had the vegetable tart with salad and he loved it. The service was warm and accommodating too. I will miss this place when we leave England!

? ? Tienes que estar bromeando, verdad? ? Jajaja.

Visited last night by chance and glad I did. The pub is beautiful and the setting is gorgeous. We had a drink at the bar then sat for dinner. I had the lamb rump which was perfectly cooked and well seasoned served with roasted Mediterranean veg - delicious. This will not be my last visit and can't wait to pop in again.

We booked an overnight stay on our way South but, thanks to the M3 roadworks, arrived just after the kitchen had closed. The bar staff kindly rustled up a plate of bar snacks, which were ample. The clientele turned out to be someone with whom we had a mutualm acquaintance. Breakfast next morning was a good full English. We left smiling.

Stayed here at a last minute pit stop on my journey, and was very well looked after. The room was small but had all the amenities. It was cosy and had internet in the room which was a bonus. Being a pub which also. Had a restaurant area as well had a nice selection of food and drink. The establishment had a large car park so no need to park on the main road.Wifi was also available throughout the pub for those that wish to be constantly "connected".I definitely would recommend this pub/B&B form those that need a friendly stay if they are in the area.

We visited this place on a Sunday and were surprised that it was so quiet - we were concerned that this was a bad portent for the quality of the meal, but we did not need to worry - we had an excellent 'pub lunch', with very friendly service.

I recently had dinner at this restaurant with a group of friends and family. Not having much experience with English food or traditional pubs, I enjoyed my experience at this establishment. Our party was seated in a corner, that was kind of hard to access and limited being able to get in and out easily without disturbing several other people. The seats were long benches (with backs) - so everyone had to slide out to let another get out - a minor inconvenience, but one of our party was handicapped and it made it a bit more difficult for her. In this restaurant we had to go to the bar to order our drinks and then they would deliver them if they were not immediately available - seems and odd process for an American used to total waiter service, but, hey, it worked and did have some charm. The atmosphere was dark wood with lighter walls and seemed to be traditional pub decor - giving our space a slightly cosy and private feel. The menu seemed to be more adventurous for a pub, and I tried one of their specials - a pulled pork sandwich. While it was good, it did not compare to the pulled pork from the American south that I am used to - definitely a different interpretation - but a good one. Several in our party ordered hamburgers and they were very pleased with their selections. The burgers were large and cooked to perfection and were accompanied by big fat fries. Personally, I like my fries skinny, but everyone else really enjoyed them done this way - apparently a very traditional English side dish. It was raining the day we visited, so the out door seating was not open. I understand that there is another part to this pub - a more upscale restaurant section that is decorated slightly differently and has a different menu, but this was not opened while we were there. It was originally where we planned to eat - but the pub worked out just fine.

Four of us booked supper in the Plume on a Friday evening. We ordered starters and a main each, from an appetising and comprehensive menu choice. The starters were all excellent, ranging from squid rings to black pudding.Portion sizes and presentation was excellent. The main courses, a chicken curry and steak were chosen. My steak was the highlight of the meal - ordered rare, it was served rare and was delicious. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten in the UK and as good as I expect in restaurants in France. We will certainly return!

What more is there to say? Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends. Need to book on a Saturday but by 10 o'clock you'll most likely be on your own! The residents of this sleepy village seem to eat early an go home early, but don't let that put you off, you can always talk to the very friendly staff.

The pub has three rooms out the back of the pub. It's tiny, no room for even a chair and only able to get in and out one side of the bed. I laid towels on the floor as the carpet was discoloured. Also could hear conversations from other couples in both rooms. The pub seemed to have a good atmosphere but I won't stay again. The staff were friendly.

Every month my husband and I visit my sister and her family who live right by this pub/restaurant. We have been doing this for a few years now. The pub is cosy with a log fire all autumn and winter. I really recommend the food. The regular menu has some of my favorites,(eg, crab ravioli in prawn sauce, whitebait) and the specials which change every week or month (not sure) include seasonal game, steak and ale pie among other things. Even though we always eat here, we are never disappointed and always find the food expertly and deliciously cooked.

I visited this pretty pub on Friday 5th Feb. As a guest of a friendI ordered the Sea Bass fillets, which came with ' fresh vegetables'The sea Bass was fine & fortunately was served on a bed of spinach & tomatoesHowever the fresh vegetables were inedible.I sent them back & the waitress said'The chef quite agrees with you' As a guest, it is difficult to make a fuss. My friend ordered coffees which I also found stewed & therefore was not able to drinkNo apology or concession was made, therefore I will not return to this venue or recommend it to anyone

We have a new favourite pub! Fabulous family meal Christmas week. Everything we ordered was delicious. We were a family of four and we ordered three starters, four mains, three deserts, bottle of wine, 1.5 pints for £30/person. We found this great value for outstanding cuisine and a wonderful dining experience. Salmon, mushroom and fig starters. Mains: pheasant, halibut, pork medallions, lamb shank. Sticky toffee pudding x3. Absolutely scrumptious. Attentive but not intrusive service. Atmospheric decor. Gracious hospitality in a charming village setting. We'll be back soon and have started planning the visitors we'll take there.

This 17th century pub has loads of history. Includes a visit from Oliver Cromwell. We visited on a quiet Tuesday lunch time and had a couple of drinks, quite expensive for a pint of bitter. Although an extremely old pub bars and service rooms extremely clean. Very friendly young lady serving behind the bar.

We stayed overnight in one of their rooms, so naturally we took a beer and meal in the pub as well. The place is very popular with locals during the week (we were there on a Tuesday and it was packed) as well with tourists during the weekend. Beers and food were good, lively atmosphere throughout the evening. Service could be a bit better, but respect for the family-run business!

Lovely country pup in the village of Crondall. Look out of the windows and you will see horse riders trotting by. The staff are friendly and the food is very good. My husband has a reunion there with retired workers from his company approx every six months. I usually go along. The food is very good pub food. With a good choice of light meals or more substantial meals. They used to and I think they still do buy their meat from a very good butcher in Fleet. (Clark butchers). We have also been there in the evening very good but wise to book a table. Never fails to please

Live close by and have been meaning to visit for a long time. Visited on a Wednesday evening during the recent heat wave. This is a very popular pub in a lovely village. It has a cosy and friendly atmosphere and has a pleasant restaurant and outside seating at both the front and the rear. The menu was varied with everything from ploughman's, sandwiches and light bites up to steaks. The special board was good with some 'different' dishes. We had prawns and whitebait to start and the burger and a goats cheese salad for mains. All were good and well presented. One small moans was that the salad was 99% green leaves with just half a tomato so not very exciting. Otherwise potions were quite large. There is also a good selection of ales. This place is not cheap but given the setting and the quality of both food and service I consider it reasonable value. We will definitely visit again.
