Fab cafe for beautiful cakes, breads, pastries and sweet treats. The sandwiches are made to order, as well as some premade. Staff are helpful. Good selection of drinks and healthier options available. Can get quite full as there isn't lots of seating.

I came in at 2.20 pm hoping to find a sandwhich as I had brought the pre made ones in Farnham loaf which are great. Couldn’t see any on display but I saw lots of sandwich filling options on the counter display, next to three made up sandwiches. Great I thought I can get a fresh one but sadly not the case. I was told that the three pre made ones could be purchased as a toastie and they were not serving sandwiches to order anymore despite lots of fillings on display and a shop full of bread? The three pre-made ones all contained cheese which I can’t eat so I left empty handed and went to Greggs to get my late lunch there. I like to support independents but feel the service here was very poor.

I decided to get a croissant from here, as I remember it being rather good the last time I came. I sat down to eat it and it was so dry. I spoke to a member of staff who was very lovely and told me to choose something else. I didn’t really want anything sweet and struggled to decide. I eventually chose a small pastel de nata (custard tart) and even though it was more expensive, she said I didn’t need to pay the difference due to it being their fault that the croissant was dry. Unfortunately the tart was far too sweet and I just ate the outside pastry. I’ve eaten many of these tarts, as well as croissants in my life and I know how they should taste. The staff are very nice here but if I’m honest, most of the cakes on display looked extremely dry. I don’t think I will bother coming again.

Visit Loaf at least once a week, always served with a smile by the team! Paige does an amazing job on remembering my orders everytime I visit. The cafe is always clean, always so busy... make it bigger!! It is such a good cafe and such a good team behind the counter that this should be bigger and should be recognised as the best cafe in fleet.

I’ll be honest, great service is from the staff not from the quality of the product and that’s the loaf! Being greeted as soon as you walk in for lunch by a friendly waitress (Paige I think her name was) with ‘hey there, it’s a ham salad roll? Isn’t it?’ And I replied yes and she proceeded to create my order from memory from a previous visit. Safe to say I will be returning very soon 😊

Stopped in Fleet for a bit of lunch and came across this place. Limited seating but found a table near the door. Ordered 2 sandwiches and drinks and was served by a delightful young lady from Cape Town. Was recommended the gammon and mustard mayo on wholewheat. It was wonderful. Listen, the prices aren’t cheap but the size and quality of the sandwich ensures it is value for money!! Not sure why there are one and two star reviews on here as the staff are all friendly and efficient, and the place certainly looked clean to me. Anyway, when we are down again we will visit Loaf. Happy Christmas to all 🎅

I popped in here while I waited for my car to be serviced. I ordered a cappuccino and bakewell slice. Both were good. It was quite early for the sweet cake, so I ate half and ordered a croissant instead. It was actually better than expected - I'm a bit of a croissant snob! I also bought a salted caramel brownie and managed two little tastes of it. It was very dry but the caramel tasted nice.

Loaf is first and foremost a bakery. It has a terrific range of specialty breads that come out on specific days each week, and also a wide range of cakes and slices and pastries that also vary depending on your day of visit. These are locally baked by a small local firm and are a real treasure. I can recommend the Spelt and Honey bread immensely, and the dark rye loaf. The cafe does made-to-order sandwiches, and also pastries, cheese straws and other pastry goods which are nicely oven warmed. The coffee is well made

The only reason this is a 4 is that i always feel slightly cramped as they’ve so many tables for a small space and recently always seem to run out of sandwich items (mayonnaise, mustard, tomatoes) by lunchtime despite there being a Waitrose and Sainsbury’s both within a 3 min walk of them!

Not sure if this can be the same Loaf when I read some of the reviews! Though I know it is. My experience is at the Godalming branch. The coffee was dreadful. Awful. We had two takeaway lattes which were tepid and tasteless. The sandwiches are ok, although a little bland - not bad value though. The pastries looked to die for. Looks are deceptive, sadly. Dry and tasteless. All very disappointing

Popped in to buy a hedgehog loaf as I've sampled their bread before and it's always been delicious. Unfortunately the service was incredibly slow. I waited behind two separate couples while 2 baristas served for approximately 20 minutes. Another couple walked in after me, waited about 5 minutes and left. It wasn't obvious where any of us were supposed to queue either. One of the baristas seemed to be new, which was fine, except she appeared to be left to her own devices on the till while her mentor busied herself tidying crockery. I have yet to try Loaf for their coffee but the service I experienced on this trip makes me disinclined to return for a beverage.

Great coffee shop with indy sort of atmosphere. We were there at the end of the day and they gave us two impressive artisan loafs of bread which were going spare. Should be categorised under coffee shops in trip advisor as their ranking is artificially low with it categorised as a restaurant. It should be near the top of the coffee shops category for Fleet, not half way down the restaurants.

Great coffee (echoing an earlier comment - the decaf is excellent).Their cakes are out of this world, but I go there for their sausage rolls, which taste like sausage rolls did when I was a kids, bags of flavour (not tasting like a bag of salt, as you get in so many places these days)... and the pasty is gorgeous. I'm a big pasty fan, not easily pleased.I do have one criticism though. The lack of places to sit. A couple of times I've popped in for a snack and been really pissed of when someone walks in, sits at the last remaining table before their friend joins them, and then orders.

Popped in for a sandwich and drink. Eat in prices are substantially more - wouldn't normally mind but the service was not particularly good on this visit. Plenty of waitresses but still had to clear our own table (was not even busy when we went), all too busy chatting away.No cutlery or napkins even offered, had to get these ourselves also (I should have charged them a service charge!). Food was ok but over £4 for simple plain sandwich with some crisps plonked on a plate is not exactly value for money. The whole place is also particularly chilly being next to the shopping centre main entrance, there is a door but they choose not to use it resulting in us sitting freezing for the duration. Did leave feeling rather ripped off and disappointed and probably would stick to one of the many other similar places available on the high street....

Situated just at the entrance of the Hart Centre this cafe is one of a chain of two (the other is in Farnham.) I believe Loaf started out as a bakery in Farnham and then expanded into being a cafe - the range of bread available for sale supports this. The cafe is at one end of the horse shoe shaped Hart Centre and is easily accesible. There is street parking nearby - alternatively the Hart Centre has a multi storey car park accessed from behind all the shops (Albert Street.) The seating area is small and so there is not much privacy - but large windows make it light and airy. There are no loos - you need to use the ones at the far end of the Hart Centre (first floor.) We had one coffee, a sugar ring donut and a croissant. Total cost approx £5.Donut was a tad rubbery. everything else was ok. Wifi was not working when we were there but the staff were unaware and when I mentioned it could not advise when it would be working again. I have previously had takeaway bread from here and would highly recommend that - the actual cafe.....slightly less inpressive - there are better cafes in Fleet.

Served, ask for a Chelsea Bun, blank face as to what's a Chelsea bun, my assistant asks another, then gets into discussion about coffee. Eventually continues my service and places bun in bag. Given money then another slow service to get change. It appears they are constantly advertising for staff. What they first need is a manager who knows what he or she is doing then train the staff and retain them.Rather like my school report, could do better, but the loaf would be, could do a lot better.

We have been trying out the places by us to find the best fry up and came here. I booked a table as I knew it was going to be busy, drinks and food order taken quickly and no waiting to get seated. What I didn’t expect was it to take over 20 minutes for us to get the drinks order after watching the two other couples seated considerably after us get theirs first and for me to have to prompt a waitress. When they arrived it was only half the order of drinks and told us the coffee will be with us shortly. Ironically enough when the coffee turned up another five minutes later the waitress stated “didn’t have to wait too long then”. Which made us speechless. During the wait we were sat near the terrace doors which a few of the staff kept leaving open. Granted - if you’re taking food out it’s understandable. However a couple of them were empty handed and being lazy, the older waiter did make an effort to close it. The food turned arrived about 30 minutes after ordering and was really nice albeit not that warm and the whole delay on the drinks but a damper on it. To follow on from the door saga - whilst trying to eat the breakfast a specific waitress kept leaving the door open letting gusts of cold wind in making the food colder. After I got up for the third time to close it and my boyfriend told the girl to stop leaving it open it only stopped once I told the older waiter what kept happening. Safe to say for the price of the food, I would expect better service and the staff to have more common sense - so we won’t be returning!
