Beware of parking! We had a great sunday lunch here. Possibly due to having just ran the Fleet half marathon and the pub being very busy as a result of this, we missed the signs stating that it's a pay and display car park! We unfortunately received a parking notice 2 weeks later. I rang up the pub and spoke with Simon who managed to cancel the ticket as we provided proof of purchase. Well handled. Good experience overall, thank you!

I went here for my grandmother’s 88th birthday for a family meal on the 28th of February. An excellent location, and not too far from home!

Having been in bar area sat at our table with no reservation on it, from 5pm and buying drinks, was ask to vacate it at 6.45 as it was now reserved from 7pm and chucked a reservation on it!! A local but obviously not as regular a someone else and was turf off table at a whim, nice!!!

Really great service, well priced food and drink... food was tasty and came promptly... rather limited ale/bitter selection, but other than that we'll definitely be back.

A real mixed experience. The food was shockingly bad but the foh staff were absolutely brilliant. Definitely the worst roast dinner I have eaten (or not) anaemic roasties, dry cardboard yorkshires, fatty chargrilled beef definitely not sliced off a roast joint. Pudding (crumble) was ok but not the flavour on the menu - should’ve been apple and damson and it was strawberry and raspberry, Luke warm and bland. Very much felt like we were served what was left in a bare kitchen on a Sunday evening, but having booked for a Mother’s Day dinner they should’ve been prepared. They set the menu after all. The serving staff were gorgeous though, so polite, warm, friendly, and attentive.

Friendly staff. Nice place for a drink after work. Food was mediocre and can take a long time. Served by Laura who was very nice.

We visit The Oat Sheaf on a regular basis and have enjoyed the changes over the last month. Bar area feels more inviting, plus more seating which helps. GT always makes us feel welcome with great service and the staff seem happier. Great to see Lou back! x

Great time with my friends, the staff was very nice

Came for dinner with my husband, I had the pie it was fantastic. Husband had pork belly, it was delicious. Espresso martini was yummy. Great service from our waitress josie.

First visit last weekend despite having lived locally for years. I would highly recommend, it’s a great venue, has a cool vibe and the service & staff were exceptional.

Went for Lunch with my company I work for...was a lovely place very friendly atmosphere..made to feel welcome ..the food was spot on to perfection...only came for lunch . I have dined at this pub many times before and it has always been a good experience. I went for a quick dinner here with my family and it was fantastic. The staff were very well mannered and friendly and they gave good recommendations. I had the Fillet steak which was very well cooked and finished with the Trio of deserts. It was a good way to get a taste of multiple deserts as I couldn't pick just one! They have a very wide selection of drinks and a good range of food. I really enjoyed my experience.

My wife and I went into the Oatsheaf for a birthday drink on 28th Feb. Lovely decor and service. Loved the fireplaces, gave it a cosy feel.

Had an early sitting before attending a show elsewhere. Food was excellent, service was quick and we were well looked after. Good menu!

Food came out very quickly and was extremely tasty, my and my husbands meals were both very good and they catered to my little girl who wanted sausage on her pizza! Also very impressed with their juice option for her which was Cawstons - no added sugar. Lovely service by Jocie but drinks were a little slow in coming - most likely due to the busy bar! Also must mention the extensive drinks list! V.impressed by the house soda and mixer options. Lovely atmosphere with the fire but quite noisy when the tables were all full in our restaurant room.

Bloody awful if you serve Guinness like you don't care spilling down the side

Lovely location & super staff. However I was very disappointed with the menu, like too many restaurants nowadays they cater more for people that like spices than they do for those that don’t. The worse thing is that two of the dishes I would have liked couldn’t be served without spices. The seafood linguine being one of them. I think it’s high time that restaurants made ALL dishes WITHOUT spice and provided bottles of spice or Tabasco sauce so that spice lovers can heat up their own meals. As I said before the location was lovely & the restaurant very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

We go here one or two times a week and in the past I haven’t been totally happy with the way it has been run but over the last month it has changed so much. There has been a change in management and they are so much more friendly and really notice you when you walk in. I can’t speak highly enough of Graham who runs the bar, he has always been so friendly. To sum up the whole atmosphere of this pub has changed in the last few weeks and it is so nice to go there.

Had a lovely day remembering our dad who would've be 80. Simon and staff were excellent, Simon was also very helpful before the actual day. Food was lovely and prices good too, thoroughly recommend.

Disappointed Went with my family table of 11. It was such a shame as it was my 60th Birthday and it was terrible. I hate leaving negative comments and feel awful for the staff on duty that day. We waited 45mins for our starters and then the prawns were stone cold. After bringing this to the attention to the waitress they took them away and heated them up in the microwave. We then were told that our mains would be missing items as they had run out. So nearly two hours later we were still waiting for our order. Such a shame as it’s a lovely pub with lovely staff. I then was told they were not charging us for our drinks and starters. It wasn’t about that as we were so looking forward to a family gathering and it’s just been a let down. Gutted doesn’t even cover it as you don’t turn 60 every day. Left hungry and upset.

The Oatsheaf is a lovely pub in Fleet, Hampshire. It's a great place to meet friends and also a nice place to dine. The pub had a few issues in 2023 but I feel it is has now turned a corner. The bar is expertly run by Graham and Team . Simon and Team really looked after us when it came to dining. The place has good vibe and nice atmosphere. Last night 4 of us had the Valentines menu . It was terrific. Between us we had Scallops / Prawns to start with and all went for the 30 Day Aged Ribeye. It was all cooked to perfection. Lovely evening had by all . Thanks to all the staff. Popped into the oatsheaf for lunch , first visit staff very welcoming, had a lovely lunch ,lovely presentation, really attractive surroundings couldn’t fault anything really impressed , will be recommending,and also will return thank you to the staff .

Service and atmosphere was excellent . Simon was especially lovely when I tried the celeriac steak, and didn't like it. Knocked off some money which he didn't have to do. Rest of the food was fantastic especially dessert 🍨 chocolate cookies and brownie.

We are new to the area, so we thought we’d check this place out. Big mistake. Poor service, took ages for our food to arrive, and when we asked to see a manager…. She didn’t seem to care less. I would recommend anywhere else because this place is trash!

Fantastic place to meet, drink and eat. Excellent range of beers both bottled and draft. Was glad to see service at the bar has slightly improved.

Had Sunday roast here. Waitresses were lovely. Food was mediocre. Decor better than other pubs around.

A lovely pub in the heart of fleet with an awesome beer garden, which we will enjoy sitting in when warmer. Great service, tasty food and really nice ambiance. Definitely recommend.

Visited for a Sunday evening meal, left not feeling overly impressed. The mains were delicious especially the king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine but everything else was pretty poor. Staff only checked back on mains because they were called over to provide cutlery that could actually cut through the pork roast and even then the steak knives struggled. We ordered mini deserts with tea and coffee and this is where it went a bit wrong. The apple and Damson crumbles were stone cold when they were served and to be honest quite inedible. The teas and coffees were served with no spoons or sugar. I ended up having to use a spare fork from our table for the cup of tea. The tea in particular was weak and had an odd taste. It was barely consumed. Granted our server removed the mini puddings from the bill but overall I wouldn’t rush back to the Oatsheaf.

Sunday lunch was luke warm, one waiter was taking orders, serving drinks and food and taking payments- he worked very hard to cope with all customers and jobs - should have had some help to make the experience better for the customers.

Ordered on Deliveroo. Initially order accepted then refused almost 40 m later. Spaulding.

The food is excellent as is the service and the atmosphere really recommend you visit this great restaurant and see for yourself

My meal here was very disappointing. When you pay over £40 for food you expect it to be good and you definitely don’t expect to leave feeling hungry. The so-called side was impressively described on the menu but it was literally 5 cold prawns on the plate with no sauce. I questioned where the sauce was and the manager went off and gave me a butter to dip them in. No sign of any chilli!! The mushroom and onion was a very small portion and cold. The chips were ok but some were not cooked. The main event… the steak … was nice and justifies the one star. I had food here a week before and that was not all that good either and I should have known better than to return. When I spoke to manager at the end he made all the right noises. He thought I ordered another drink which I did not and after pouring it said I could have it on the house. So I took that as a way of an apology. I only write these reviews when they go way below or above my expectations. I don’t think I’d ever go back to this pub. All round could be much better.

Popped into the oatsheaf for a drink as heard they had got cocktails... well they do and they were lovely. Ended up staying for lunch a the food going last us looked so good! Thank you to Katie the manager too she was super helpful as my friend has a dairy allergy.

The pie made my husband cry from joy, and he’s not easy to make shed a tear. The calamari starter can’t be faulted the king prawn and feta starter was second best in the starter category. As for my dish, the seafood linguine was underwhelming. In terms of restaurants in Fleet, hard to beat, just get some salt in the dish

Group Christmas booking. Shambolic organisation. An hour for drinks. Two hours for food. Server so eager to get drinks to us (eventually) he dropped a tray of them all over our table. Excuse for circus-level service - duty manager not here, no handover given. Obviously 5 weeks isn't sufficient time to organise a Christmas Dinner. Would highly recommend this 'eaterie' to diners who like Cirque Du Soleil, with a sense of humour, and have hydrated recently.

Group of 14 pre booked. Not told half would not get the mushroom starter till arrival. Bread sauce burnt. Nor read the follow up email ordering 8 turkey mains. Only 7 appeared so 1 had to wait for another one to be cooked Bill split between drinks and food so 2 bills. Very confusing.

We had our Elements Yoga Studio Christmas dinner at the Oatsheaf . There were 32 of our staff and members in total . We preordered from the Festive Menu. Everyone gave the food and service a top rating. Thank you so much to the team in the kitchen for producing this top quality meal. A massive thank you to Alex and his team who made sure we were all looked after throughout the evening. We all loved the experience and will be back.

Food was amazing however the. Service was awful. Food took so long to come out, we waited about an hour for our mains and it took nearly an hour for our desserts to come which seems rather strange and we were left with our dirty plates on the table for a long time after we’d finished. No one asked how anything was and i5 was very difficult to get anyone’s attention to ask for anything we needed.

We had a delicious meal here the food was great. Our server Lily was very helpful as some of our group had special dietary needs. 👍🏻

Terrible management The manager should NOT be behind the bar during the busiest periods. He should not be a manager at all if he prefers to hide away when the staff need his support??? Absolutely shocking behaviour and there no excuse for it. Drinks arrived...

Lovely pub to have lunch with family. Great size, fantastic decor and charm. Decent food, and the chef even agreed to cook our daughter's chicken nuggets so they looked similar to a famous high street brand in order to encourage her to eat them. Staff brought drinks to our table as well once we'd sat down as a group so great service. Beware of the parking charges - the pub car park is only free for paying customers, a fact which I did not notice on the day of our visit and subsequently received a parking fine from Euro Car Parks. Thankfully Alex at the Oatsheaf was extremely helpful and got the charges removed because we were paying customers.

What a terrible experience, arrived and sat at our table for 10minutes, has to go to the bar to order drinks for our meal. Ordered 2 x Sunday roast, both arrived cold. Waiter took them away and returned 15 mins later, the plated had been...

Unfortunately service was not good, nobody interested in selling us drinks at our restaurant table. Our food arrived and both roasts were cold, I have never before sent food back. Our plates were obviously put under a heat lamp, when they came back 10 minutes later the gravy was all dried up, the Yorkshire’s were solid and the veg dried. No enquiries as to how our meals were and plates taken away whilst I was still chewing. Used to be a great restaurant for Sunday roast, no wonder it was almost empty tonight

Came down from Pontypridd to spend the day with my son and grandsons.They had booked a table for lunch for all of us .
