Piero's Snack Bar in Leicester

Honestly walked in to this place off the street to the atmosphere of a wake. I’m not sure if it was too early in the morning but if I said hello to the staff, you’d think I killed their dog. No music going or anything so it was dead silent. We ordered 2 full English breakfasts. The quality of which was shocking. Poor quality sausages, hash browns burned on one side, undercooked on the other. The avocado toast was rubbish too. The poached eggs were overcooked. The tea bags were tetley or cheaper. Don’t waste your time or money.

Piero's Snack Bar is an amazing place to have breakfast or a quick coffee. The service is fast and excellent. I had ordered an espresso which had great flavour. Overall, I would recommend Piero's Snack Bar to anyone, as they have halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options. Although it's accessible for wheelchair users, it has a generally small area in the interior, but it has enough space.

Nearly 15 mins for sub standard coffee. Asked politely about where it was, to be given poor apology and told it had been sat on the side.

Visited here with my Husband and 3 year old boy. The lady with the short white bob has absolutely no people skills. She looked annoyed and huffed as we placed our order and rolled her eyes when we asked for a slice of cake to take away. My Son said hi a couple of times and she ignored him. Floors were lethally slippy and the food isn't great quality either. Awful meat sausages and a tasteless cheese and chicken panini. Won't be going here again!

Worst English Breakfast I've ever had! Tasteless food and cheap ingredients. No doubt the whole serving was made for less than £2 using Lichfield stuff (Brakes catering basic food). "Rashers" stated on menu, but flavourless cheap processed beef rashers served (no mention of this on the menu). Cheapest of cheap Brakes sausages that are cut in half to soak up all the cheap cooking oil. Everything piled on top of the under cooked toast, so it soaked up all the grease and oil. I totally understand why they don't show any photos of the food, because no one would step foot inside if they could see what was going to be served up. Places like this should be shut down, they're giving the Leicester restaurant and cafe trade a bad reputation. Advice: fire the chef and start to use better ingredients. I think you're current profit per menu item is pure greed. I could genuinely say this was a 1/10, and makes Weatherspoons breakfast look Michelin star level.

Lovely place for a morning breakfast, service was quick, very comfortable and at ease, would recommend. Food was good and a reasonable price. The cappuccino coffee is my all time favourite.

Después de esperar en la puerta para ser recibido, ni 1 de los 3 empleados detrás del mostrador me miró o reconoció, así que tomé asiento, unos 10 minutos después una señora tomó mi orden, sin sonrisa, sin contacto visual, simplemente amortiguado, escribió mi orden y se fue. Tomé mi café, que era agradable. La segunda dama que trabajaba allí salió a sentarse y tomó un cigarrillo, cuando volvió no se lavó las manos antes de volver a la cocina! Me daba asco verla, olía a tabaco rancio fuerte cada vez que pasaba. Cuando finalmente llegó mi comida fue el orden equivocado y la señora estaba descontenta, no se disculpó conmigo ni una vez, volvió a la cocina con ella. Creo que estaba en otros 20 minutos de espera y ahora observando lo antihigiénica que era la mujer fumadora que me había postergado, decidí pagar por mi café y dejar! Nunca volvería

If I could give this a 0 I would. The plate felt so empty, the quantity of food was so not worth for the price. The taste was really blan nothing much whats so ever, lack of seasoning and presentation. Really disappointing, I could easily make triple the quantity with what I paid at home. Never coming back.

I came in today to have a full English breakfast and I was really disappointed in the cheap ingredients. The sausages were tasteless weren’t meat. Definitely vegan stuff. The bacon or turkey not sure what it was was dry and hard. The beans were basic 50p beans, two tasteless tomatoes, mushrooms definitely from a can as well. Absolutely nothing was seasoned, so technically I paid about £10 for a breakfast I would have had for £3 at home. Other than the food, staff seems to really dislike their job, I felt scared to ask questions lol, no smile, no positive attitude, you feel like you are bothering them. There was no welcome as well and no staff came to us during to ask how the food was and if we needed anything else. I in fact was so thirsty waiting for staff to come even just near me so I could ask for water but nobody ever came. I had to go all the way to the counter. Anyways.. a lot needs to be done to sort this out. It’s clean though at least

Had the most beautiful breakfast which set me up for a day of exploring the sights of Leicester. If you fancy an alternative to your English breakfast, then head to Pieros and order the Marrakesh Breakfast. For under £10 you get a ramakin of Mudamas (which is like warm hummus) another of baked Eggs topped with salsa and olives, plain and filled tortillas with cheese and a pot of traditional mint tea. This vegetarian dish delights the taste buds and is very filling! Breakfast was made to order so expect a bit of a wait while it's being lovingly prepared - it'll be well worth it. I didn't try anything else but will be going back to try the Casablanca breakfast very soon.

The breakfast was very disappointing with cheap ingredients. There was no happy greeting, and the staff seemed miserable.

Always a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, been coming back for over 10 years. The wraps and panini's are always great, and the desserts are excellent!

The coffee her is absolutely the best.

I went there for a little coffee break, so can’t comment on the core aspect of the place which seems to be food rather than coffee. Everything is on point except the latte which was just a tad bit off point. I wish they would make a cute latte art but that didn’t matter much. What matters was the coffee was too diluted to my taste. I know this is not a coffee shop, and it wasn’t fair to be fussy about this, but still…if you want decent coffee, this is not the place. The pistachio cheesecake was bland, but on the bright side, you consumed less calories right? The rest was fantastic! The service was efficient, warm, polite, and sunny! The place itself is charming with its vintage decor. Pretty spiral staircase but don’t climb it! Plenty of seats and the bathroom is at the back.

Proper cafe with good breakfast menu. Look up and see the ceiling paintings!

Awful food hash browns were soggy and tasteless not crispy, rashers well say no more about that and sausages were frightened by the frying pan, the toast was dry had to ask for butter the staff need some lessons in friendliness there too apart from the young girl, won’t be back

Not good food was below average and staff rude . It used to be better shame. Falafel were warmed in the microwave and rest not good

Be aware! Make sure you ask for a payment slip. My bill was for £17.10, but they took £18.00 from my debit card without my permission. A service charge would have shown on the bill, but clearly this was just the owner loading the bill in small increments!

Sorry to be negative but it is quite low quality for high prices. The owner is also very big headed just cos he’s been doing it ages and used to own a kebab shop. His staff are quite rude and short with you and the bacon is actually turkey. It is a glorified greasy spoon cafe but the prices don’t match and I’ve had better service at places way cheaper than here. I’d rather pay a bit more and go to Hollys around the corner

Very nice place, enjoyed my food, not too busy or too big, service was very quick, even with the lunchtime rush. Felt very comfortable and at ease, would recommend all small groups. Food was good and a reasonable price.

Our usual café was busy so we decided to give Piero's a go. I have to say I was not impressed at all. My wife ordered the quesadilla, the filling was virtually none existent, and what was there was cheap processed chicken and tasteless cheese. She didn't enjoy her meal one bit. I had the chicken tikka and mozzarella panini. The side salad and coleslaw were nice but the panini lacked any taste, it was just bland and uninspiring. The only positive thing about our meal was my daughter's chilli burger. She actually enjoyed her meal. As for the service, the waitress could have at least smiled and made us feel welcome. She just banged my plate on the table and waltzed away. I don't think I will bother to grace this establishment with my presence again. But if you don't try you don't know.

Visited in November 2023. Very lovely cafe and friendly staff. The food was delicious. We had English breakfast and two Moroccan breakfast.

We ordered breakfast. I was intrigued at what the mention described as 'rashers'. It turned out to be what looked like, reconstituted meat in a uniform long oblong. The sausages were tasteless. Overall, not a particularly appetising meal

Walked in at 3.40pm Sunday. 3 customers, so not at all busy. 3 staff. I was told to be seated and someone would come over. 10mins later still nothing. 1 staff member opens a can of coke and starts to read a paper, another washing dishes and the 3rd walking around pretending to be busy but not actually doing anything. So I walked out. Needless to say I will never waste my time in there EVER again.

We used to be regulars at this spot for many years, always offering good value for money and a nice ambience, good service and nice food. Since it has changed hands it has deteriorated and lost all of its orginal charm. The service is less than expected and the staff are rude. Met a homeless guy outside, who told us that the manager warned him away when a customer sitting outside gave him a fiver. That attitude put me off. When we went in there my Marrakesh Tea was st stuffed with mint leaves that I could not pour it. Before it used to serve quality teas like mint teas. This one doesn't seem to know about how to make such things anymore. My friend's cup was stained with what seemed to have been lipstick. Whatever it was it shows that utensils and cups are not being washed properly. No, since this place has changed management it is no longer the same and its service has gone downhill fast. I will not be returning to this place to offer my former patronage. Piero's - you've lost a good customer.

A great lunch option with a typical menu of soups, sandwiches and jacket potato. Go early before they run out of jacket potatoes if that's what you have your heart set on! Order and pay at the counter and everything is brought to you. Nice clean loos at the rear.

Cheap price but you get what you paid for. I ordered poached eggs with avocado and the first time I got the order, the eggs were well over cooked and were like boiled eggs. There was no butter on the bread and it looked really dry. They gave 4 small slices of avocado on the side. Not impressed.

As you can see from The picture it looks and tastes amazing spinach and feta cheese omelette with brown toast Well worth a visit on a Saturday, can’t fault it. I’ve been coming here on and off last few years and since the first time to today it’s always been so good. Staff are great always

£5.60 for this I no cost of living and that but what the he'll? Should of cooked it myself at home 1 pound for bread 1 pound for mushrooms and 20p gas! Never in my life will I go here again the lady wasn't very confident In her job. I've worked catering for 10 years and this is joke

Hands down the best baklava I have ever eaten!

I love supporting local business and we've been visiting this place me and my wife for many, but we were somewhat disappointed with our visit and now decided not to return in further 😔.

I popped in this morning to have coffee and a toasted teacake.....both delicious and served with a smile!

It's more a wine bar than snack bar. Really good Italian wine and food, plus the best service

Three of us visited on a Saturday morning, seated promptly. Very nice food and served hot!. Efficient staff. Good price. The owner, realising he had over charged us, came to the table and apologised and gave us the correct change. Will be back next time we are in Leicester

Really lovely cafe with superb food ... Choc Orange cake was lovely as was Chai latte. Super location to people watch and just chill.

This café is located in the historic old town part of Leicester on a pedestrianised street. We very much enjoyed sitting on the outside tables at the front. We ordered two flat whites which cost £5.20, unfortunately they were quite large and weak.

In the heart of the interesting old centre of Leicester. Little or no traffic. Bustling with students, pedestrians etc, this neat relaxed little cafe is a good spot for passing time with a crossword, the paper, a book or a chinwag with old mates.

We discovered this little gem in October last year. Had a great breakfast early on a Sunday morning with a superb, freshly ground coffee. We visited again this April and actually walked a mile out of our way to take friends there for lunch. Another great visit with more superb coffee 😁. Staff are great, food is tasty, our friends enjoyed their smoothies! Will visit again next time we're in Leicester.

Nice people and a very nice set up, good choice on the menu and very good value for money, had the soup which was really nice, filling but not overly. Would highly recommend.

Cosy place to enjoy some tasty treats, full English breakfast is a must, chicken pasta is always delightful and my younger daughter enjoyed the grilled chicken wrap, they also do a tasty chicken burger! Moroccan mint tea took me back to Marakesh! Service was pleasant.

Great food, well priced, poor experience with the service. We received the first part of our order on time, then we waited for sometime for a slice of cake that was ready in the fridge, one of the drinks we ordered was brought to us at the end of our session. The server at the counter kept nodding her head when she couldn't hear my order clearly which I felt was rude, and when following up with her about our tea she replied ' you can see we are busy'.

My go-to spot to get the fastest, quickest and cheapest falafel wrap. Lovely owner and a good take-out service.

always the same high quality service and delicious falafel wraps. i have being having good food ,super cappuccinos and a wonderful atmosphere. try it yourself and you will make your regular place. alone or with family/friends.

Overpriced, underwhelming food and staff that look like they're so bored to be in this place. I should've known from the dated decor going in before trying this place... 'Panini' was two normal tasteless bread slices toasted, fillings so-so, no inclusive sides, charged at £5.50! Sweet fruit slice was flavorless. Coffee was so-so... everything just lacked effort, disappointed I went here after walking through alternatives The Lanes - would not recommend.

Friendly service and good value

We've been here both when it was takeaway only through covid restrictions and recently when we could eat in. Can not fault the food and our daughter likes it too which is important. The only criticism is we didn't see a child's menu so had to pay adult prices. Hence the 4 not 5 stars.

This is a very cozy place, might be one of my fav in Leicester. Will definitely go back again for a Brie & Cranberry Panini! 💛
