Have to say, I completely agree with lots of other reviews.. the food is VERY overpriced for what you get. Staff are lovely but sadly wouldn’t eat here again as the prices are hugely inflated.

Two hot drinks and two cold £14.40 - stupidly expensive. Diet Coke was £3.50, how can that be justified?! I understand they have a relatively short season but really!!!

Had a late lunch here. Prices are very expensive for what it is, and what you get. We ordered a kids sausage sandwich, which was basically a roll with one chopped up sausage. The kids bacon sandwich was a roll with one piece of bacon in. The adult meals were a bit more substantial, but I wouldn't say it warranted the cost.

We visited several times over our week in town. This place has amazing food and despite some of the reviews saying otherwise we found the service friendly and efficient. Everything is cooked fresh to order so there is going to be a wait during busy times. I had the poached eggs and avocado on granary ( several times) an amazing goats cheese salad , waffles and coffee that were both delicious. We also called for drinks too and love the fact you can watch the world go by as you sit outside. We will be back next time we are in Cornwall .

Arrived at 9.40am,ordered by 9.50am..drinks didn’t arrive till 10.15am and food at 10.30....all I’ll say is the best thing about the‘breakfast’was the bread...not what I call a full English,no tomato,no mushrooms and overcooked bacon and sausages, staff very young and clearly not trained atall, which isn’t their fault, leaning across a customer to pass food, come on guys.train your staff, you could have a goldmine...I probably wont return I’m afraid to say...and as someone else pointed out,had to pay before we’d had our food, don’t like that either, hence no tip as couldn’t judge what to give based on 1st impressions and service up till then

Arrived at 11:20 for breakfast and was told they had now stopped serving breakfast, even though their menu clearly said breakfast served until 11:30.Therefore we opted to have something from the lunch menu, this was ordered shortly after 11:30 and it was eventually served at 12:15.45 minutes for burgers and sandwiches! The chicken burger I ordered was extremely dry to the point that a desert would have more moisture, to me it seemed it had even been microwaved or placed under a heat lamp for far too long. With regards to drinks we wanted to order milkshakes to be told that their were none available. One person had her drink missed even though it was ordered and had to remind the staff about this for it to arrive. We had no offer of sugar with our coffeesWhen the food arrived we had no cutlery for the first 5 minutes. We were also made to pay before our food or drinks arrived which I think is very odd.All in all a bad experience and I would not come back to this establishment.

We’ve been here last weekend for a breakfast and I have to say the service was dreadful First of all it took ages for someone to take our orders The babychino came out boiling hot even though we sad only handwarm please The food came out cold and we then had to wait for cutlery The table behind us sat down close after we sat down but never got served and left very upset We then told the waitress with the tattoos that they had left and she just said “tough” and walked off They weren’t even busy. So if you want proper device and warm food and don’t burn your child go elsewhere

I have lived in Looe all my life and often would go in to the cafe for lunch, with it only being takeaway I thought I would try a take out. I ordered a bacon bap it was very dry, my friend ordered toast. It wasn’t busy so I expected to have my food hot considering we sat outside on the wooden bench by the well. Her toast was also cold. When we placed the order I did notice that 2 waitresses one young lady, one older, wasn’t sure if she was the owner they was chatting while we waited at least 20Mins for our food.

Cafes have a lot to cope with at the moment and I rarely if ever leave bad reviews - I prefer to just move on. However I ate here yesterday and had chilli jacket potato. Unfortunately it was cold so I just sent it back without any fuss and ordered a flapjack instead. Manager and staff kept saying it had been in for the right amount of time, doesn't matter as it was still cold. Manager asked where I was from and then told me i should not be there as I was from a Tier 3 area,. I am not, and if she had just looked at the sign in book she watched me sign she could have checked that. However she decided to have an argument instead.Never going again, lots of better venues in Looe. She also had double standards as she was allowing diners to approach the kitchen area without masks, petting dogs as they came in the door and displaying poor hygiene.

Went in on very wet day. All staff masked and had a lovely cake and hot chocolate which we couldn’t fault but as we were sat in there a group of six came in with a very wet dog who did the usual shaking off the rain all over the place and also not one of them had a mask on when they came in to wait to be seated and even walking round to get drinks from the fridge and no one asked them to put a mask on or ask why they were not wearing one. I understand 1 maybe 2 not wearing one for health reasons but not 6 young people without one.

But it wasn't wiped down - and actually, watching others coming and going going during our stop, no tables were wiped down between customers.Waitress was friendly and drinks were ok.It's clearly a popular venue but I wouldn't feel confident to go back in view of the lack of hygiene measures especially re COVID.

We fancied a coffee and this was the first one we came across, so decided to stop. Service was so slow, considering it was not busy, and I mean slow enough we nearly decided to walk away. The cups were not handled correctly with staff touching the area you would sip from when filling with coffee and putting on the tray - why not use the handles much more hygenic. Coffee was very bitter and not very warm. Expensive and not worth stopping at, there are plenty more coffee shops to pick from. Didn't feel very covid safe at all.

It was all absolutely lovely but my personal favourite was the Jaffa cake cake, we even got 2 slices to take away!! If I had one criticism it would be the 2 different cakes were cut with the same knife & the chocolate fudge cake came with some of the other cake on it but that wasn’t a problem to us. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning! Especially for some of that cake!

I was served a sausage and egg bap in a roll with mould all over the top. When returning it a joke about the waitress needing a trip to Specsavers was made, followed by grumbling about trying to refund a card. I get that mistakes happen, but there’s a lot of questions to be asked when a member of staff can hand a customer a bap covered in green mould speckles without noticing....I’d double check anything you order from here - personally I’ll be avoiding it. After giving this place five stars last year I was really disappointed to find they had changed their breakfast menu. The sausages were completely tasteless and the baked beans were obviously the cheapest. One member of staff was very friendly and kept busy all the time but I went in when she wasn't there and while I was eating my panini (still good but unfortunately served with corn chips instead of crisps) the three members of staff were sitting with drinks, two at a table one on her phone, the other on a tablet and the third was sprawled in an armchair also on her phone. Two ladies came in who obviously didn't know you have to go to the counter to order and pay but they were totally ignored. The majority of staff obviously need some customer service training and be taught how to smile.

What has been served to me each time is definitely not a good cappucino, no foam,no pattern, tastes like a bitter, watery milky coffee at best, thrown at the cup and spilling on to the saucer by the 'barista' each time. Asked for a babycino for my little one and was charged £2 for a lukewarm cup of milk, when in Costa they are free. Bacon on full English was almost raw and eggs very undercooked, sausage was cheap rubbish. Outside tables were uncleaned with ashtrays on them, not a nice place to sit. My family called here for breakfast. Biggest mistake all holiday. Ordered food and sat down outside. Our meals never arrived. We called a gentleman waiter over to ask where were our meals to be told he had given them to someone else and that we needed to go back to the counter to reorder??? Why when he clearly knew what we had ordered and also who he had incorrectly given it to I don't know. I went to the counter with him to be asked a further 5 times by the same waiter what was it we had ordered. 2 set menu full english Breakfasts, the guy couldn't remember such a simple order!!!! 5 mins later the breakfasts arrived. Clock cold beans, luke warm sausage, snotty eggs. I took the beans back to the counter and asked a waitress if she had a probe to check the temperature of the beans. She stated they don't have one. Hang on alarm bells start ringing NO probe in a food establishment, how do they monitor cooking and reheating temperatures. Whilst waiting for them to microwave the beans I could see food is not cooked fresh to order definitely not gourmet it's reheated cheap quality sausage and undercooked bacon. A waitress who was obviously aware that I was watching the kitchen staff waved her hand at me shooing me to go and sit down and she'd bring the beans over. Overall shocking service, absolute shambles. This place is busy due to its location and tourism, if it was to rely on regular returning customers it wouldn't be trading. Had breakfast here, it was excellent, the coffee is brilliant too! Nice friendly staff, calm under pressure as Looe can be very busy in the summer, I really liked this place and will go again!

On a recent visit to Looe we stopped here for lunch, it was a sunny day, Looe was buzzing, and it was a great spot. The service was friendly and professional the food the menu was limited but delicious we certainly enjoyed what we had and it was good value. We will certainly be back.

We used to love popping in here when we were in Truro, you would be lucky to get a seat but now it’s take your pick. In a nutshell the place has lost its soul.

Festive Afternoon Tea this afternoon was very disappointing. It is clearly a stop gap to keep income trickling in between Sunday lunch and evening dinner service. The biggest issue is with the service, very inattentive, unconcerned staff not in the slightest bit interested in providing a professional level of attention. The afternoon tea was acceptable but not exactly delightful let alone memorable or to be recommend to others. Delightful setting with the hotel beautifully appointed and well decorated for Christmas, just a pity the staff were not switched on at all. Management at fault and it would appear no investment made in staff training.
