We have visited this little coffee shop multiple times now, more recently over the last couple of months. We did visit when it first opened on maybe two occasions, but have just started calling in again. Firstly if there was a GOOD on TA, I would have chosen this above average, however there isn't and I don't quite think this coffee shop is quite at very good level yet, although it could be. Positives first, it is a quaint little coffee shop, opposite the cinema which has parking. They offer a small but nice selection of breads and cakes. They also do very nice lattes. It is a quiet unassuming little spot, somewhat too quiet, which doesn't always shout out welcome. We have only come across a gentleman (possibly the owner) and a lady when visiting, both very cordial when we approached and ordered. Although I do have to say, they don't really engage in much conversation, and I have to agree with some points from a previous review. You don't necessarily expect any in depth or full blown conversations, but the atmosphere they create is very much akin to library staff environment. They aren't rude, yet aren't/don't come across as very friendly or welcoming. It's very robotic. I think more interaction and engagement with customers would be so much more welcoming and appealing to encourage customers to revisit or recommend their business. I would also have the music a 'little' louder when it is on. It hasn't always been on, or it's been so low you cannot hear it and the atmosphere is again, like a library, you can hear a pin drop. The above is not to criticise, just to give honest feedback on recent visits. Try it yourself and form your own opinions.

We went to the cinema over the road, and based on the reviews we called in here before hand. The coffee and the toast were excellent. I own a mobile coffee and know a quality coffee when I have one. The owners were pleasant and the customers were nice people. We would definitely recommend it.

A lovely little coffee shop, with a nice selection of cakes or toast. Welcoming layout but I would say while the staff are helpful & friendly they don’t particularly talk. This does feel a little strange for coffee shop staff and more akin to staff in a library. I don’t particularly want a full blown conversation but they don’t even talk between themselves. This was my second visit, once busy & today quite and the atmosphere was the same a little sterile. If you want good coffee.tea or cakes then worth a visit within a nice tastefully decorated and laid out cafe

This is without a doubt my favourite place to go for coffee. The coffee and cakes are just wonderful and everything if freshly made on the premises. My personal favourite is the sourdough toast (also homemade), its out of this world. There is always a friendly atmosphere and as a lifelong resident of Worksop, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Fabulous!

Piccolo’s has been a favourite of ours for quite a while now, the quality of coffee (beans roasted on the premises), teas are also available, and the homemade cakes (baked on the premises) can truly only be appreciated by trying them. Trust me you will not be disappointed! They of course do takeaway if that’s what you want and you can buy various types of roasted beans and different types of teas to use at home as well.

I visited Piccolo’s for the first time today and it was truly marvellous. I had 2 coffees and some fruit bread toast and I was able to sit in the window and read my book. I could have stayed for hours! The coffee is delicious. The toast was yummy. The service was superb. And I’m so glad I went. Extra special ‘high five’ for the clean toilets too. What a gem Piccolo’s is. Loved it. Thanks ever so much Ellen x

I visited Worksop from London this week to spend time with my delightful and fastidious aunt. On her recommendation we went for coffee and cake to Picolo's. Used as I am to the bland, characterless and corporate chains of London coffee shops I found Picolo's to be a haven of warm and friendly staff, excellent quality coffee and unsuppassable hand made cakes and bread.

I'd been told the coffee was good, so tried this place on a recent visit to Worksop. The Americano was great. Fresh and strong without being bitter. I also tied a cappuccino, which, though on the small side, was equally tasty and fresh. I was tempted to try a chocolate pecan brownie, and that was the best I've ever tasted: moist, rich and a generous sized piece, with the lovely extra flavour of pecans.

Can't better DaveRetired's comments, other than to say the lemon cake is fantastic. And very generous. No problem either when I was a bit fussy (double espresso + hot milk), not trusting an Americano to be too weak. And, I think, the cafe is in Mr Straw's grocery - so nicely rounded off a visit to Mr Straw's house (NT).

After nearly a fifteen minutes wait, I don't mind waiting for fresh coffee but fifteen minutes when it was not particularly busy, is a little off. Unfortunately it was not worth the wait. The coffee was average at best with a bitter aftertaste and as a person who works in the industry if this is the best coffee you have tasted, then you haven't travelled very far. My boyfriend and I visit this coffee shop every Saturday morning, it's our favourite thing to do and we both look forward to our coffee date throughout the week. Cakes and toasts galore, it's all delicious. I tend to stick with a skinny chai latte, and fruit toast, while my boyfriend varies from sticky brownies and mochas to toast and black Americanos. Understandably, sometimes it is very busy. And when there isn't a seat, we walk around town and come back later - which is a form of patience no other place will receive from us, as it is well worth any wait. So friendly, so perfect, would absolutely recommend.

I am a self confessed coffee addict and Piccolo's has been recommended to me by more than one person on frequent occasions and life always got in the way.We were greeted with a smile and given advice on the selection of cakes on offer. I didn't realise that it was cash only so I had to nip to the cash machine but everything was being prepared whilst I was out which is a nice touch given we were unfamiliar faces. All too often there are people who don't care about coffee making standing in front of the machine but not here. After all the hype I decided to visit this establishment. Wow what a let down.! I assume it was the owner that served us, he spent more time discussing his investments with a previous customer than getting to grips with our order. It took four trips to deliver two lattes and two cakes. The wait would have allowed to us nip into to town get served and return from another cafe. The coffee was nothing special and have had better at costa or starbucks with more friendly staff and quicker service.! The order came to £7 which I would have been happy to pay for two medium not small lattes and two cakes but the latte at sainsburys is better tasting and a lot cheaper. If you enjoy your coffee then this is the place for you. My last review rated the quality of the coffee equal to that you find in Italy, I would like to suggest that Piccolo Espresso Bar does it even better... just my opinion and I'm sure we all have our favourites? The process of making the wonderful blends and single bean extraction are faultless. Perfect ratios of coffee grind to extract volume and flow-rate, perfect milk foaming for the most delightful cappuccino. Single bean grinds are a treat, leading you into the citrus notes of some surprising and new offerings, or stay trad and choose the house blend which is comforting, familiar and faultless. Did I mention the home made cakes, toasts and treats.... better than you mum makes! Espresso made old school with a lever pull machine, an art in itself, giving the perfect golden bloom of an expert barista. Of course you can just visit for teas, shakes and pop..... but if you understand coffee then it's a cool place to visit, let me know if you agree? Ciao

This place is pretty amazing and not just 'good for somewhere in Worksop;' it really compares to almost any other good cafe based in more cosmopolitan surroundings. The polite and friendly owner is always willing to give you a detailed introduction to all of the products on offer such as the choice of coffee blends and various milk preparations offered. The tasting notes on the board are quite accurate; not just a marketing gimmick, you can truly identify the differences in each blend. The cakes look great too and I do intend to try one eventually. The cafe also offers a very clean and relaxed environment; with a good, sophisticated choice of music that isn't played too loud. You could actually spend all day here in this little refuge from the rest of Worksop; before leaving to continue your stroll through the town centre with a slightly caffeinated buzz, as it is inevitable that you may have that second or third cup of coffee.

Just watch him make a coffee for you. It's seriously is an art. I had to try the Kenyan coffee. Beautiful and so different in its taste and aroma. I highly recommend to all you coffee lovers, this is a place you must visit. Gail his partner is also so passionate in what they are about, makes the most amazing cakes, which I will try next time I go in. Thank you Tony for making feel so welcome. See you soon.......

What a find!! Tucked away from the main centre of town but well worth a short walk to this quaint tea room. Lovely food and more... Go and find it and see for yourself 😁
