Awful awful pasty. I asked for a vegetable and had a pasty 100% filled with onion. Made me feel sick. Not even a tiny piece of carrot. What's wrong with this bakery

A bakery they do everything fresh daily pastys are okay but not my favourite ones.

I bought a vegetable pasty at the camborne branch it Only had been filled with onion not even a single pea. Absolutely disgusting.

The staff at the Philps in Camborne were so friendly and helpful! Went in with an order for 4 with one gluten free allergen and they were so kind and got it all sorted ready for collection within an hour, keeping it all separate and labelled to ensure no cross contamination. One of the best gluten free pasties I’ve had. A wee bit pricey but definitely 100% worth it. It is probably worth preordering and picking up if you need gluten free but was fantastic service with just walking in. Gluten containing food had a great selection and the elephant feet (cream puff) is sooo worth it - but you may need to share.

I returned from Cornwall yesterday and went to philps for my usual order to take back to London. Large flaky steak excellent. Also had one of their tiger baps beef and horseradish to eat on the coach really good. I also treated my sister to a elephant choux cake(enough for 2 to share) again outstanding. The staff so friendly and cheerful definitely would recommend the camborne shop. No other pasty shop I would go to but these guys!! Thank you. See you all again shortly. Have a good Christmas guys!!

Just returned from Cornwall to London today. Went into the camborne shop to take home some goodies. The best staff ever!! Friendly and so professional can't fault them. Loved their pasties cakes . Lots of choice. Will be back again. Thank you so much.

Full displays, clean and tidy shop. Greeted warmly and a friendly service throughout. Delicious BLT roll it was massive for my lunch tasted amazing and an apple juice.

Just had to pop in today to get a nice standard pastie and yet again they successfully made me a decent pastie which filled my big belly up! Well happy with it but on the down side it could be a little cheaper as 4 pasties was around £16!

We picked up 2 steak pasties for lunch today but for the first time we're disappointed. The pastry was very pale (not cooked properly) and one of the pasties meat was hard and chewy.

Well some say, its the best cornis pastie place... their pasties are huge, specially if you get a large one, we got the traditional steak pasties and i can confirm that they are really good!!!!their shop is pretty nice, with a lot of pasties and some other bakery products, plus some suvenir items like hoodies, stickers etc.Staff where great, polite and ready to help, store was clean and tidy👍🏻

Without a shadow of a doubt the best Pasties in Cornwall. Always cooked to perfection, decent cakes and buns choices. Friendly staff. I don't go anywhere else anymore for baked goodness.

Had an hour to wait at the crematorium so went into town to get a pasty, decided to try Philps and was very impressed, this was the first steak pasty I’d had in 8 years and I really enjoyed it. Top marks Philps!

This is our local Philp's pasty shop, I have a non verbal Autistic daughter who loves their pasties and going into the store to see the lovely staff each week. They are always so kind to us, it's accessible and welcoming. We highly recommend a visit.

Reheated, dry, flavourless flaky steak - £4.20, really? Had pasties from.here only twice before and that was pre Covid, they weren't good then. Today I thought I'd give them one more go, third time lucky and all. After the very first bite, I knew exactly what I was getting. Two bites in and I thought this thing is going in the bin. Do NOT waste your money in here, there are other bakeries in town - use them.

Full Marks for these pasty's, was full of meat & veg and lots of flavour! I had the steak, cheese veg & steak cheese! They were all delicious but the meat ones were fab. We will be back for more. Next time I want to also try the huge Belgium buns.

Came here while on a day trip. They do some huge pasties as well as sausage rolls and cakes. Opted for a smaller pasty to take out but although the pastry was good and there was plenty of meat in it, one large chunk of meat was not properly cooked and was still red. Disappointing.

Travelling up to London, I stopped off at a friend's restaurant for coffee in Hampshire. While chatting with the owner (and chef), he asked that next time I was coming up from Cornwall, would I please bring a couple of pasties for him and his wife. I was able to do better than that because I actually had 2 frozen pasties from Philps in my cool bag, so I gave them to him. I let him know I was travelling his way soon, and he has asked for 6 more! You can't have a greater compliment from a chef than that. Please note this is a shop, but they sell hot pasties all day long, so you can have breakfast, dinner or tea from them, eat it in the street, in the car, or take it home.

We visited several Cornish pasty sellers during our trip (we may be slightly obsessed!) Philps in Camborne was the only shop we decided to go back to for a second visit, and we bought extra to bring home with us. We also plan to look at their pasty postal service so that we can enjoy them all the way back in Kent! Delicious pasties and sausage rolls and really friendly staff - highly recommended!

It says here it's open till 5 but actually it closes at 4!!!!

Best pasties in town just like homemade. Not the cheapest.

Very disappointed, pasty fell apart when i took it out of the bag, and apart from 2 or 3 tiny pieces of meat there was one bigger piece but couldn't call it steak but a big lump of gristle which i couldn't chew, didn't deserve one star let alone five, won't be going back again that's for sure.

Well Philps sure make Pasties.I am totally biased as for me their standard mince pasty is the best with flaky pastry. In fairness there are many superb pasty makers in Cornwall so other people will quickly say who their favorite is. The Philps family have been around around time in Hayle and they have expanded. If you are visiting Camborne then whilst looking at the historical town buy a pasty and eat it out of the paper bag and enjoy an ansum Cornish meal.

We have your pasties every Saturday ..and I really want to give 5 stars..but...there is a great lack of cheese in the cheese pasties!! Also there is lack of seasoning in the meat ..not always so one assumes that it depends on who is doing what in the bakery. Here's hoping someone finds the cheese????

this was recommended and we were not disappointed took one home to have with gravy a meal on its own, I have had a few pasties but the meat in this one os the best by far

Average pasty which, whilst ok, did not match up to its name or my expectations.

Favourite pasty shop ever. These are most definitely our choice at home, not just for the Pastys but all the produce they sell.

Popped into Philps for a Pasty yesterday (Friday) to make a change from the usual place I go and felt inspired to come on here and leave a comment. The Pasty itself, Flaky Steak and Cheese ( a new one on me) was absolutely delicious. Nice and fresh and super Tasty. Price was good and the Service was excellent. The two Ladies serving obviously enjoy their work and were incredibly helpful, quick and polite.. a refreshing change these days. Needles to say I will be returning and recommending my workmates to give it a go. Thanks!!

Not the best pastry I have ever had, as potato was quite firm and not much beef in my steak pasty. I have had better from their shop in Hayle. the lady serving I felt was a bit snappy no please or thank you, I want be going their again

The best pasties around, also fresh, not reheated from yesterdays left overs like some other shops in Camborne, the flaky steak fantastic. The Heavy cake, to die for. Also I would like to thank the staff and take this opportunity to thank Trudy and Linda and the rest of the staff for the excellent service they provide to the community of Camborne.

Tough steak in pasties ... I won't bother again!

I’ve been going to philps for over 20 years and I’m glad they have given a ship to Camborne. The pastors have always been great but the customer service in the Camborne branch is amazing. They are always friendly and like to have a chat. This time when I went to buy a pasty the lady offered me a bag for a lamp that I had bought, it was raining and she was worried that it would get damaged. She did not need to do this and but it was incredibly nice.

As the title says these are the best. If you want a proper cornish pasty you have to try Philps. Try their premium stake pasty and you will never go elsewhere again.

We live in France but this is always our first port of call whenever we visit. This time around we were in town for only 3 days, one of which was for a funeral & Phelps cheered us up no end. Two pasties the day after & two more for the ferry back to France - absolutely DELICIOUS....up to standard, or should I say "Large"

As a Cornish girl, I’m very, very picky about the pasties that I eat and Philps are always fabulous. Mouth-wateringly delicious and nothing comes close. I feel sad for the other pasty shops in Cornwall, only one or two come even close !

Got five pasties today for the family, three of the pasties has meat that was still bleeding over the veg, found this disgusting thought they were better than this but apparently not Not going back anytime soon, threw the pasties straight in the bin Disgusting

Lovely pasty at Camborne on Tuesday, super friendly staff great service. Not been to Camborne before pleasently surprised.

We had a week in Cornwall last week and had a pasty every day. The ones from Philips were far and away the best. We both had the steak pasty and they were very tasty. It’s a nice shop in the village and they sell a few nice gifts too. You won’t be disappointed.

Popped in here whilst away on business in Cornwall, high st is Camborne full of places selling pasties but was drawn to Philps, possibly the best decision I’ve ever made. Bought 1 large and 3 mediums to take home with me, impressed by the size of the large - bigger than other pasty shops I’ve been to, perfect taste, filled me up for the rest of the day. Will definitely return when back down that way.

Philps pasties are not in the same league as the 'Horse & Jockey' in Helston & Porthleven however Philps are probably the best that you will find in Camborne and certainly better than Rowes or Warrens nearby.

I am from Kernow so have got an expert opinion on pasties as I have eaten them all my life, albeit I now live ' up country'

I had to leave a review as I am a real pastie fan and have tried them from all over Cornwall. I had a small one from Philps and my husband had a large which was enormous. I can honestly say they were the best we have ever eaten by a long way. Perfect.

Mouthwatering real Cornish Pasty. Ordered steak pasties. Really tender steak no chewy bits, fresh tasty slightly peppered vegetables, perfectly baked pastry. Cakes are also good.

Nice to have a branch in Camborne. I had a large steak pasty which, as usual, had loads of steak .Up to Philps high standards. Staff were pleasant & friendly.

I bought 4 steak pasties and 2 cheese and vegetable pasties to take home for £20.05! For that price, I expected them to be superb, 100%. The cheese and veg was this. Loads of potato and some onion. I honestly could not taste cheese. The steak pasty was considerably better. If and when we visit Cornwall again, I will not buy pasties again. I honestly can make better at home.

This was a couple of months back, but i'm still pretty upset about it. Its the first time I walked into the new Camborne store, and i'm not entirely a pasty fan anyway, but i thought i would give it a go.
