Use Peter's at least once a month for cod and chips for my partner and myself.... Always, always, always perfect!! Chips cooked fresh and to perfection!! And the cod is another level, cooked masterfully and always freshly cooked while you wait... Still the best in Medway if not Kent.

Won't find friendlier owners very knowledgeable person concern food all cooked fresh still priced reasonable but you pay for wat you get and you get the best fish around if you want fish and chips on a Friday or Saturday make sure you go early and expect queues all these people can't all be wrong BEST FISH AND CHIPS IN MEDWAY IF NOT KENT.

Once upon a time Peters was the best in town. Unfortunately the quality of the chips has plummeted to an all time low both on taste and quantity. I'm now looking to crown the new king of chippies.

Excellent, the fish and chips were very nice. I ordered a large Cod ,small chips, and mushy peas for my wife and myself. The portions were just right for both of us. Thank you very much.

Nice chips they always have the best chips in medway ,this chip shop been here since I was born and has never failed in service or standards of their food . And that their price are justified given the current climate and the quality of the food they cook. That why it Very good and arguably the best chippy in medway.

It's a Fish & Chippy & since the proprietors' wives illness has not opened of a lunch time except on Fridays. Yes the prices have gone up due to all of the supplies having gone up Potatoes, Fish, Oil & Fuel, and then marvel at how he produces such a high quality portion of Fish & Chips wrapped in paper no size limiting boxes used here, as near perfection as you will get in Gillingham.

Have visited thus chippy for a few weeks. Last time which was just over a month ago a portion of chips was £2.20 went in this week and it cost me £2.50. 30p might seen much of a rise BUT if you work it out that is just under a 13.8% rise. I think its disgusting

Très sympathique et très bon. Je recommande fortement. Pour deux nous en avions eu pour environ 15 Livres Sterling pour deux avec une tres généreuse portion de frite.

Looks a bit tatty from the outside but the food is fresh and tasty. The staff are also really friendly. Parking can be difficult as it's in a residential area.

Went in with a fiver to get curry sauce small sausage and large chips. Could only get chips as they were £4.70 for a large portion.

All ways busy on Saturday between 16-30 till late don't know during week days 5 people serving whilst owner is frying Cash only which I prefer Staff friendly and polite

Always use this fish and chip shop. Good prices and good size portions and the quality is off of the scale. Have been using them regularly for quite a few years now and will continue to do so.

Very good quality fish, pies, sausages, chips etc. There's usually quite a wait for chips so best to phone up. Parking can be an issue due to location one way road. Unfortunately with the way everything is going up it's becoming an occasional treat due to rising prices.

Popped in and bought a large portion of chips. Did not realise that it would be HUGE! The best chips I have ever had and will be going back.

Just had open cod n chips in the car. A good call. The fish and chips cooked fresh to order. Crisp golden chips and fish non greasy. We live in Rainham, but this was worth the drive and we will be back.

Always phone through and collect from twydall, best fish and chips by far, polite staff as always , never been a bad order either

Newly moved to the area and with our favourite fish and chip shop too far to warrant driving to we decided to try Peters. Inside is very clean, great to see. We had 3 x Cod and chips & 1 x large curry sauce, total £32.50. A little on the pricey side but I think that’s become the norm for fish and chips nowadays. Chips were amazing, no frozen stuff here. And a medium fish was bigger than my old fish shop used to serve, it was as big as the chip carton! The fish was thick and cooked lovely. Curry sauce was also huge, I think we’d go for a small next time, reminded me of the curry sauce you get from Chinese. Overall absolutely delicious, great quality and worth every penny. Happy to call this my new local chip shop.

Excellent quality fish, great and friendly service. I got a medium size Cod and to be honest it's a decent size with the chips itis definitely make you feel full. The quality of the fish is great and you can taste that it is cooked in fresh oil 👍. The shop is clean and orgnized but I would recommend modernisation to a new deco and sinage. This shop been there for years and deserve some TLC 🤞.

Honestly the best fish and chip shop in medway, my whole family goes here and we don't even live together anymore. I even moved out the area and still drove back occasionally just for the fish and chips. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the food is good quality and fairly priced. There food is so good, when they close to go on holiday, I don't eat fish and chips, as it won't be as good and I'll just regret it. Would recommend this place to everyone

Quite simply the fish and chip shop that does it properly. Tasty chips, gorgeous cod and generous portions.

Good amount of choice on the menu, they seem to do some meal deals as well which is great. Haven’t seen many chip shops doing that! Food was good, not too greasy. Prices reasonable and great service. They only take cash so watch out for that.

There are two chip shops within walking distance to me. But when I'm in the mood for a plate of fish and chips I get in the car and drive to Peters. Because unlike the indifferent bag of tasteless greasy misery served at the other two, Peter's is perfect, every time. One other thing - you know when you get to the average chippy near closing time and they've turned the fryers off ages ago and the only choice is whatever has been sitting in the keep-warm cabinet for an hour? Not so at Peters. Everything cooked fresh to order - even at the last minute.

On the first evening of our stay with friends in Gillingham we picked up a takeaway from Peters Fish and Chips. There was a great inexpensive menu featuring all the usual chip shop favourites. I ordered a small fish and chips with curry sauce, my husband ordered a steak and kidney pie with chips and a side of gravy and our friends ordered large fish with chips and mushy peas. The person who served us was cheerful and the fish shop was immaculate. The portion sizes were excellent and the food tasted fantastic. We would definitely recommend a visit.

Had a double Chicken Burger and Chips from here last night and have to say it was the best Chicken Burger and Chips that I've ever eaten! Much better than anything you get from KFC. Wish I took a picture now to share with everyone

Peter’s fish and chips in Gillingham is second to none. Never had a bad meal from here, and if I have fish and chips elsewhere in the country, it is always compared to Peter’s. Every time Peter’s is the clear winner. The large cod from Peter’s always tastes fresh and tender, is 100% boneless and skinless and simply tastes delicious. The batter is perfectly balanced and crisp without making the fish dry. The chips are on point also. Portion sizes are decent and fair. Top notch, quality fish and chips prepared and served by a friendly team. Highly recommended and have yet to find a better chippy in the UK.

Checked online for a good chippy. Up pops Peters Fish and Chips - closing in 31 minutes - apparently! Off I trotted on the 20 minute drive to find it shut up, in darkness, no sign of life! Do you reimburse for wasted petrol!? lol!

My friend was visiting so picked up fish and chips en route. After I checked out reviews of local places, we chose Peters and were so glad we did. Huge fish, lovely batter, no skin (yay!), a proper sized large portion of delicious chips and amazing curry sauce. Would buy weekly if they delivered, gutted they don't.

Had to wait ages for the food. Friendly staff though but maybe should change the number system. If there is food ready for an order don't make them wait until their number is up.

Best fish n chip shop ull find in kent. Good service n good food, its reasonably priced n the fish is always fresh. Plus if u ask, u get a free bag of crackling. Its open plan behind the counter so u can c ur food being prepared and cooked. Its a clean n tidy place. The people r nice n friendly so u always get service with a smile. 10 🌟s from me

The large portions seem like small ones, but overall the food is adequate.

First time we've used it, had fish and chips it was best we've had in age's big portions too, definitely going back. Staff are friendly as well.

Food is above average but the wait times during peak hours are horrendous. 30-40mins just for chips on one occasion. Even ringing in advance doesn't seem to speed the process up much despite giving half an hour notice.

This is by far the best fish and chip shop in Gillingham, we have been coming here for years, the staff are friendly and you are always welcomed with a smile. We have never had a reason to be disappointed as portion size is more than generous and fish is cooked to perfection, but what has happened to the CHIPS!! They have not been up to the usual quality that makes us return each and every week. The chips in the past few weeks have not been crispy, they have been a pale soggy collection of potatoe, not very enjoyable, please sort it out, we would hate to go anywhere else, you are our favourite fish and chip shop and have always recommended you to everyone and anyone

New to the area, always sceptical about new takeaways however the positive reviews did not disappoint! Easily best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time, all of the people working in the shop polite, wearing PPE for Covid properly. Had this last week and having it again tonight!
