Hot, fresh fish cooked to order - good portion size, crispy batter, perfect chunky chips. Best fish & chip shop locally by a mile!

Best chippy about!!! Everything is cooked really well, never really much of a wait, prices have gone up but that comes from the suppliers so no issue there. Portion sizes are good and if you ask for few extra chips, its never a problem. Staff are polite and friendly.

Hugh portion of virtually inedible chips that were thinly cut and hard. Fish was clearly frozen and so greasy the paper it came in was saturated by the time I got home 5 minutes away. Couldn't eat it all left horrible greasy taste in mouth that couldn't get rid of even after cleaning my teeth. DISGUSTING!! .. Only take cash, read in to that what you will. STEER CLEAR

Much more expensive than up here in Doncaster, but then the portions were ENORMOUS. I'd be happier with a bit less food for a bit less money. Staff were friendly and service efficient.

Age UK Medway's Dementia Café in St Paul's Church Parkwood had a seaside themed Fish and Chips event on 5th September, Pattersons delivered over 50 meals for us and they were hot and freshly cooked, everyone had a ball and thoroughly enjoyed their meals, thanks to all at Pattersons and the lovely young ladies who delivered everything.

Fish and chips, not cooked fresh so mine was dry, chips were greasy not the best, use this shop for its convenient location but much better if your prepared to travel.

Large cod clearly wasn't cod atall ...tasteless had no skin and tiny flakes of fish also the worst savaloy iv ever tasted and also had missing item

Very large portion of chips supposed to be medium, but by the time you picked out the edible (very dry and shrivelled, lots of tiny crunchy bits) ones probably small portion. Luke warm by the time we got home, (5 mins). Pukka pies very dry . We were in just after 4.30 so I feel this was lunch time left overs reheated. Won't be returning.

The fish and chips at Patterson's has always been very good. Unfortunately prices have shot up recently but I guess that's a more general problem at the moment. At one time fish and chips used to be a tasty and quite cheap meal, it's still tasty but it's nothing like a cheap meal anymore.🙁

Always a good bit of grub here. Love a bit of fish and chips and use this regularly, one of the best in the area.

Super fish, giant portions of chips, good value for money

Really wish that they would double fry the chips, much prefer them crispy . Sometimes they're so pale it looks like they are blanched in oil.

Earlier this evening, I went with some friends to this chip shop for Explorer session, we were tasked with getting one large portion of chips and something for free, they graciously gave us what's on the picture but only charged us for the one large portion of chips, great service, lovely and generous people, I cannot recommend this shop enough, GO THERE. Amazing for gluten free! Gluten free days are Monday and Tuesday. Fried in a completely different fryer and two people done our order as my boyfriend doesn’t have gluten free, so no concern of any cross contamination at all, very happy!!

1st time trying this fish and chip shop. We only ordered a large portion of chips, x2 battered sausages, x1 normal sausage and x1 pie. All was cold and the sausages were absolutely disgusting. I will not be getting any food from here again total waste of money and time collecting. Off to Wigmore fish and chip shop for some proper grub.

Just great food. I have allergies and food has always been great. They also offer special days where different oil fryers are used.

First time trying here lastnight - chips looked twice cooked or sat for a while and had a strange after taste.. not much could be said for the battered sausage & saveloy either.. just dry and overly gristly. Even doggo turned his nose up so it all got chucked.

Well what can I say, never had bad service or food from here always very polite and rhe little things like a lolly for the kids (they love this) and a bottle of fizzy when you place a big order. Little touches that go along way. Keep it up all of you well done

What fish and chips should be. Light, tasty batter. If packed as some do in boxes, as a chippy in Essex I know does, rather than wrapped traditionally which invites some sogginess five stars would be awarded

Been looking for a good fish & chip takeaway in the area ever since The Wigmore Fish Bar went downhill fast without a hope.... along with all the others in Rainham. Someone recommended Pattersons, one I'd never heard of, so gave it a go. 1st impression: They only take cash. Total bummer....lose a point. 2nd impression: Good Covid precautions (joke)..... Only 5 or 6 staff behind the counter with no masks or shields, although they insist customers wear them.... oh, apart from one who marched in without a face mask and was served without one eyelid being battered.... lose another point. Service was very quick.... they obviously know the business. Knowing how many fish to have on the go in anticipation of orders .... gain a point. I had a large cod, medium chips, and mushy peas. The batter was very oily and soft... and excruciatingly horrible, so left on the plate and chucked away. Room for much improvement there. However, the fish inside was absolutely gorgeous.... Noted that the skin was removed.... something very rare outside of the West Midlands. The chips.... no shortage. Well cooked and reasonably good. No complaints. The mushy peas.... hard to screw that one up so ok there. Overall, I gave the place a 4*.... But only because it's in Medway.... a notoriously poor area for eating out. The locals seem ready to accept below average quality as the norm. Anywhere else it would have got a 2* ... but that's Medway for you. So, overall, pretty good value for the area... However, you need to do something about the batter.... I wouldn't feed it to a pig....

Quality is top when it comes to these guys. Very quick service fish very hot and super fresh. You do not have to wait 10/20 mins for it to cook since they are busy continuously fresh ones always get to come out. When you bite into the crisp layer you can feel the layers break easily on the inside - just shows how fresh it is. Honestly would not suggest you anyone else. My experience 10/10.

Have been using Patterson's for as long as I can remember, no where else in the area seems to compare. Portions are large, food has always tasted freshly cooked, cod size is good and the curry sauce is amazing!

Upon returning from holiday on our way home we called in and ordered fish and chips and sausage and chips. The fish was very greasy and the sausage / chips were dry. Hopefully this was just a one off and we will try again.

We went to get fish and chips this evening. Freshly cooked delicious fish, light and crispy batter, very good chips and the portions are huge! We had a large portion of chips between the three of us. Particularly impressed with the cod bites! Very good value too - just over £10 for large cod bites (enough for two), small (it was big!) cod and large chips. I used to go elsewhere but won’t any more. Highly recommended.

We moved to the area 11 years ago and this is the only good takeaway we have found to date. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The boss always has time to greet you and say a quick hello to you. Fish is always freshly fried and the portions are huge (two of us share one portion of chips and there is leftover)

Bien, no es demasiado grasienta coked o seca, pero ten en cuenta que las porciones son enormes, y me refiero a realmente enorme que sólo podía comer media mi chips grandes. En otra nota, no sabía este existió hasta la última noche, la última vez que pasas en 2000 era un quiosco perteneciente a un amigo, así que el chico que piensa que él ha estado allí durante 35 años podría ser equivocado.

No bias, but I seriously think our local "chippie" is the best around. Ok, so I've sampled their excellent food for a good many years! But food quality is excellent, always fresh and nicely cooked.

He tenido mi pescado y patatas fritas de aquí a lo largo de los años, y he probado otros, pero seguimos regresando. El pescado es siempre fresco y las fichas de suculentos. Nunca tuve un calentar desde aquí pero tienen de otros. Comido en Whistable y Brighton esperaba mejor pero no comparar. Tienen ofertas especiales para mayores y niños.

Wonderful fish and chips. Fish is beautifuly cookedl, covered in a light, golden, delicious batter. I am not a chip fan, Pattersons chips I will eat, cooked to golden perfection, not dry or burnt.Staff are warm and friendly. Shop is always busy
