Perranporth Inn in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Stopped in for a beer and to watch the football. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, superb pint. Highly recommend if you are in Perranporth.

Reviews written by a grumpy old man just on the hunt for ale... A double-fronted building on the main street consists of mainly a one, open room pub but it looked like there was another separate room toward the rear. The main room had 3 large TVs showing sports, a pool table and interactive darts. Music was a mixture of everything from C&W to AC/DC listenable but not too loud. Interesting ceiling covered in Flags, LP's & cd's Ale.... Dartmoor Legend was had, (Tribute being the alternative). A good session ale at 4.4% but not good at £5.50 Ouch.

11 of us visited to watch a rugby match. Eventually we were told it would be shown in the back room, but without volume as the other screen was showing football to 4 people who were more interested in their phones than the game ... which in any case was also being shown in the main bar! There was water coming through a light fitting above our table, but there was absolutely no interest in doing anything about it. Frankly, the staff on duty were completely disinterested.

End of season, so food stopped at 4pm, so was a bit disappointed, but that was my fault.

Great pub - pool table, dart board, sky tv (lots of them!), great choice of beers. What more could you want! Didn't eat here but food looked good as well.

Went in for some food and a drink to be told they don't do food, just bar snacks. Surly bar staff not willing to suggest what kind of bar snacks without being asked. Obviously a local pub for local people.

Three large TV screens for sports. Pool table and darts board. Good menu , had fish and chips with mushy peas and they were delicious. Worth a look in enjoy.

On Thursday 8th August 2024, my family and friends visited your establishment. We were a big party of adults, teenagers and 3 young children and 4 dogs on our annual camping trip to Perrenporth. We had never stopped in the Perrenporth Inn before so decided we’d make an afternoon of it as the weather was awful. We made ourselves comfortable and within minutes my 21 year old daughter was by my side beside herself and crying! The barman had seized her driving licence, deeming it fake and counterfeit and at this point refusing to hand it back!! The mother instinct in me kicked in and I went round to confront the barman, who I can only describe as cocky, obnoxious and intimidating not only to me but too my 21 year old daughter who was on holiday with her family! The situation did became a bit heated with her brothers defending her to this obnoxious, intimidating barman. Eventually an older lady came to intervene and the situation did calm but we were still extremely upset and wanted her license back. I appreciate that upon checks the license did seem different but the way my daughter was made to feel was horrifying and so very unprofessional. I have been made aware that as an establishment you are not able to seize a driving license just able to refuse to serve the customer. The threat of seizing her license was unacceptable and inappropriate whilst intimidating a young girl. I would like to inform you that the driving license has been sent to the DVLA for checks and I can confirm that the license is valid and is not fake or counterfeit as your establishment made it out to be. I have DVLA proof that I have sent to your establishment. I would appreciate an apology to my daughter for the upset and the way she was treated, for wrongly being accused and also being intimidated and humiliated in front of her family and a bar full of people and young children. I hope that nobody else ever has to endure your barman’s, disrespectful and intimidating manner in which he dealt with this incident, involving a your innocent girl.

Probably does one of the best fry ups in Perranporth but without the grease. Don't mind paying good money for great quality.

Never tried the food although it looked amazing but drank here several times. The staff were all really friendly and it's so close to the beach a winner.

Kid and dog friendly, great selection of beer ,larger,cider and spirits. Pool table and plenty of seating. Food served all day the fish was really nice and fresh, the pizzas are huge with a thin base.

We went for breakfast but it was a really long wait for it, apparently a chef didn't turn up so it's not really their fault. Breakfast was lovely when we got it, the inn was clean and tidy the staff were friendly.

Last year we ate here when we visited Perranporth & because it was a positive experience we went in for lunch today on our holiday visit to the town. Just awful all round - the food was a 2 out of 5 at best & the cleanliness was poor. The ladies toilets were absolutely gross! £40 wasted! Never again!

The Family really enjoy! this Pub every visit.

Extremely nice establishment. Dog friendly too, which is a big bonus. We had the “All day breakfast” which was just right. Even the dog got a complimentary biscuit. Well done Perranporth Inn.

Very nice food and it wasn't to busy so it was nice and quiet and the food came promptly .

We were fortunate enough to pop into the Perranporth Inn for brunch earlier this week. We were warmly greeted by Natalie who was very knowledgeable on their new breakfast/brunch menu. I ordered the Avocado and Smoked Salmon toast and my partner ordered the Eggs Benedict which was simply delicious……… Compliments to the Chef !! Our visit was concluded by a Bramble Martini and a Caribbean sunshine cocktail which was on their two cocktails for £15 special , Simply great value. The attention to detail and the cleanliness of this pub was simply outstanding. Highly recommend the Perranporth Inn

It was quiet when we entered but all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, and when they weren't serving the staff were constantly cleaning. Quite possibly the cleanest pub I've ever been in.

Not very good unfortunately, the food was ok but the pizza was extremely thin and burnt on the crusts.

Looks popular with locals tourists alike. Bar staff are attentive and prices are competitive. Slightly out of season and mid-afternoon, it was still moderately busy. I do like to see a decent pool table in a traditional pub.

Excellent pub, good atmosphere with a good selection of beverages. The staff were great. We went in during the European football matches and there was a great buzz in there, they were also showing cricket and horse racing on other screens

Went in for Sunday lunch. I actually searched for carvery and this place came up. There is no carvery here. Nice quick, friendly service. There are many TV's in here which get sport turned on. That doesn't interest us at all

Used the back room with the darts board and your own Bluetooth speaker, which my son loved. Cracking party atmosphere! Didn't eat, only drank.

It’s a great place to watch the football ⚽️ plenty of space for groups of people plenty of TV’s so you all get to see the game or games as they can play two different games at the same time 👍👍👍.

Amazing pub. Log burner on continuously throughout winter. Great beer served at the perfect temperature. Very acomidating regarding what sports our table wanted to watch!! Even when they stopped serving food we were allowed to eat our take away in there. Lovely pub!

The bar staff, a brown haired young woman with her hair in a bun and a young gentleman with mousy coloured hair.. the language coming from the female all evening was appalling whilst children were present. Families came in but instead of being family friendly the music was blaring with the likes of Akon and others with swearing and rude words in the songs. They had absolutely no regard for the fact there were children present. I’m not sure who the owners are and if they’re ok with this sort of behaviour by staff but it was appalling.

Love this pub. Good selection of drinks. Always cosy. Our pooch loves it as well, as he gets lots of affection from staff and customers alike. 😀

Really great pub, which serves the BEST Sunday Lunch. Service fabulous, atmosphere really lovely. My dogs love the wood burner, which really gives the pub a cosy feel.

Nice pub, good beer, blazing woodburner and friendly helpful staff. Only downside is there are no snacks (crisps or peanuts) behind the bar - there is a vending machine with a small selection that needs the right money.

Just popped in for drinks as we normally do when down in Perranporth and got charged £13 for 2 pints of Guinness......feel well ripped off!!!!

Had the pleasure to go back to Perranporth Inn for Sunday Roast. Simply superb ! Great choice of Beef, Lamb and Pork with all the trimmings. Deliciously prepared by a seasoned Chef. We had the Lamb and Beef which was juicy accompanied by some of the best gravy I’ve ever had ! The roast potatoes were super crispy and the Yorkshire Pud just perfect. The portions are super generous so bring your appetite………..Highly recommend The Perranporth Inn

staff did not serve me and my friend because we had European ID (even though they accepted a Californian ID earlier on from another friend ) both of which are legal and able to be used everywhere else in the UK, extremely disrespectful and later on kicked us out of the pub, would not recommend unless you wish to support racists.

We came here for tea mid week in August with my two children and parents. The pub itself has a great atmosphere and was very full and we were lucky to get a table. Food and drink was ordered at the bar and my only comment would be that the gent behind the bar had absolutely no idea how the food ordering system worked. I ordered the gammon egg and chips, and when this came the gammon was a good tasty thick piece of meat and the chips were standard fries along with a slightly overcooked fried egg half a tomato and peas. The quantity was good as was the flavour and it was just as needed. Other members of our group also had no issues with their food and there were clean plates all around.

Perfect seafood linguine! The creamy sauce had just the right amount of garlic not to overwhelm fish and the touch of chilli gave just a hint of heat - Perfect! Great portion too.Husbands gammon & chips was perfect too!

I have read rave reviews on google reviews on the Pizza and just had to try it out. Ordered a Hawaiian without ham and it was out of this world....... Simply some of the best pizza I have ever had..........Thin, crispy and super tasty....... Sam looked after us throughout our visit and was super friendly. The Perranporth Inn is truly a hidden Gem!!!!!! Highly Recommended. Will deffo take all the family back

Such a lovely friendly pub - the meals were delicious and promptly served. The young girl behind the bar where you place your orders was a delight to talk to - so happy and helpful! Definitely a place to eat.

We've been coming to perranporth for several years and this year ventured into the perranporth Inn what an amazing place food top class atmosphere is lovely and staff are so approachable and friendly its our new favourite place

This place is simply superb !!!!!! Absolute attention to every detail is clearly visible here. Tim and his staff took incredible care of us throughout our visit and couldn't do enough for us. As we have small kids running around We found the staff’s kindness, thoughtfulness and service first class. All the staff was just lovely to chat to, and was charming and attentive. THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed absolutely everything we ate and drank. We have been fortunate to travel all over the world but here the Pizza was SIMPLY THE BEST ………. I mean the best pizza we have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Afterwards I was told the pizza was hand stretched and made from scratch by the chef!!!!! We were simply all blown away by the texture, thin base and depth of taste and flavour!!! What a find !!!!! In addition The Perranporth Inn is super clean, super friendly and is above all the best venue to watch sport in Perranporth. I’d highly recommend this venue for all as it’s family and dog friendly. Thank you Tim, Natalie and the kitchen staff for looking after us so well. We can’t wait to go back. Highly highly recommended.

Drinks are overpriced. Was told food would be 30 minutes, took about 1 hour to come that was despite no other food coming out. When it did arrive food was well below satisfactory. The pie looked like it had been warmed up in a microwave and dumped in the bowl, there was very little filling inside, mash was foul. Pizza was very thin and inedible like a cardboard box. Gammon and chips also inedible. Tiny bowl of goujons for ten pound, that's supposed to be a special offer more like a special swizz. Cheesey fries you wouldn't give to a dog. Owner only offered a refund for the food that was completely left despite being told of the low quality and poor service across all meals. After waiting so long and being hungry you are going to attempt to eat it. All the food looked worse than home cooked. Food is being done on the cheap in my opinion, had better from a takeaway. This review wouldn't have been written had not a scruffy dishevelled looking bloke appeared, who I can only assume cooked the food stating, "this happens every year". If that's true the common denominator is the pub not the customer and not a good sign. Children went away hungry. One of them was given a takeaway box with 2 fish fingers and some cold fries. Neither eat fish fingers and weren't asked. These came quick so probably left overs. All the food should have been discounted but wasn't, instead we were asked to leave and informed they would be contacting other pubs about us. Nice way to treat a large group who've spent a substantial amount on food and drinks.

Lovely food, lovely pub and friendly staff

Overpriced and very basic food. I ended up with just a cheese and tomato sandwich as what I had initially wanted they didn’t have. Very basic nothing special and looked like something I’d make a home. A lot of places were not open when we visited as I think I would have chosen elsewhere.

Called in here off the cuff for something to eat. There was nothing wrong with the food but it was basic. We were warmly greeted when we entered, shown a table, provided menus and shown where we could get our cutlery and condements. Regimental flags are pinned to the ceiling along with old records and CDs. Dogs are more than welcome and the owner will provide water. Grand spot if you want something quick but not fine dining.

Visited Perranporth whilst on holiday ... friendly & welcoming bartenders (Samantha was fab) premises clean and well kept. Food was lovely & hot and delicious. Husband had the all day breakfast, I had Southern fried chicken burger. Dogs completely welcome & was able to order some cooked sausages as an extra for them. Would definitely return.

First visit to this pub, was greeted as we walked in by the landlady ot manager, very friendly and helpful, food was good, nice place for some food and drink, mix of locals and tourists, would definitely go again

Went into Perranporth for a night out which I've not done in age's, great pub with a brilliant atmosphere. The staff were brilliant and friendly, but they let me have too many baby Guinness! Fantastic place will be back soon!

A locals pub I imagine. Great size TVs for watching sport. Not eaten here but looks ok.

I chose the calamari with chips and a slice of lemon I literally got what I can only describe as 4 onion rings and a portion of frozen skinny fries with no lemon all for £9.95. whenever I've had calamari at other establishments I've had a least 6/8 pieces & a lot thicker. My freinds pie and mash was good but served in a bowl which was strange, my hubbies ham egg and chips were good with nice thick ham it's just a shame regarding the calamari as it tasted pretty dam good & just left me wanting more. I would go back but think I would chose the pie next time better value for money as I now feel robbed.

Having driven past this place many times We finally popped in and was pleasantly surprised ! We were warmly greeted by a charming server called Natalie and had the most delicious cocktails. This place has a great atmosphere and the attention to detail and decor is amazing. We were both struck how clean and crisp the restrooms were. We cant wait to go back this coming weekend.

Found this pub on the off chance of finding somewhere to sit and eat after spending afternoon on beach. Would definitely visit again when back in Cornwall. Staff were super lovely and friendly. Food was good and the place was lovely.

Came in here to shelter from the downpours and stayed all afternoon. Great atmosphere. Sport on TVs, loads to do for kids. Played pool and games. Fantastic hidden gem on Perran high street.

Great food, prices were reasonable and great service. Very dog friendly. We will be back when next visiting Perranporth.

We stayed in Perranporth for Easter weekend and visited this pub twice. Both times were good experiences. We watched a big football game in there and atmosphere was great. Even tho it was rammed the service was quick and friendly. Decently priced drinks . Plenty...

Great local pub home from home from our local private club. Regulars very friendly and miss it already.
