Pepe's piri piri in Southampton

Absolutely disgusting will never eat from there again when confronted about food being cold and missing items the staff were so rude it’s unbelievable. Never again is all I have to say for the matter

Food arrived cold, the feta cheese and chicken does not taste very fresh. The whole dish seemed pretty bland. The delivery driver could not follow instructions. He expected me to go outside and meet him as he wouldn't follow the directons I told him. Wish I had read the online reviews before ordering.

Ordered at 8.20pm and food didnt come for two hours However when rang said our food was spilt and they will make it again just as the man pulled Up with no Issues with our food so they lied Then said they would give us food free next time with no way of proving it Delivery left without giving us food after waiting two and a half hours every time its at least a hour /hour and a half not it’s not acceptable

We went to grab a meal after a long drive around 12’ o’clock on 29th march 24 . The food was good and we were a regular customers of the pepe’s for more than 2 years across the UK. However, we experienced a bad customer service from the staff this day , there was delay with serving the orders, which is quite understandable. The problem was that, the staff have served the next customer in line even though he ordered a similar meal and ordered the meal after us. When they gave us our order, they didn’t even give any dips which we have never experienced before from any other Pepe’s shops and also did not give the drink until we reminded the staff and he checked the order receipt again to verify the order details . We felt it as a strong discriminatory approach, even though we did not make a scene at that time, respecting the others customers and just wanted to share the feelings as it is important to treat all the people equally without any biases.

My son order the food after one hour we received the food the a fries were missing my son call back to tell tell them the fries are missing a men answer the call he was same person who took the order he put my son on hold then a lady came on the line she refused to talk to my son she wanted to talk to me and said what’s going on there have send the complete order she lied my my didn’t order extra fries she was very rude if she have said that they didn’t understand he wanted to order extra fries and they didn’t charge for the fries it was no problem but they lied , it was horrible experience and the main bad thing is she said she took the order my son didn’t order the fries but it was a man who took the order.

Absolutely disgusting food from this branch of Pepies the food was horrible stale and clearly old meat portion sizes are terrible aswell I paid a extra £3.50 for extra chicken and received none at all they don’t anser the phone this honestly is one of the worst places I’ve eaten from in years BUT Pepies as a franchise are lovely and is nice food but Southampton branch is terrible and they seem get away with it from higher up in franchise

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely disgusting place, how it doesn't have 0 star rating I don't know, everything was off, stale or over cooked probably because the meat is off, sent all the wrong stuff, refused to replace the order and refused a refund. What more can i say?

Late delivery of bland, cold and burnt food today and they then don't answer the phone after a delivery so you can't even complain!! Do not order a delivery from here unless you are prepared to wait and you enjoy cold food. What a shame as we try to support local business but do expect some value for our hard earned money!

I have had food here before and the chicken was pretty tasty and the chips fine. I ordered chicken and chips, and I realised when I was too far away that the chips were missing, hence I will never return again.

There is a picture of the the gourmet burger at nearly 6 quid. In the lovely photo in there it contained cheese and tomato and looked lovely - Falling Down levels when I got home, no cheese no tomato, just same stale lettuce. After waiting quite awhile too, will not be going back

Ordered our food at 19:15 called them at 20:35 asking where it was and after being put on hold for 10minutes the person who answered the phone to me asked me what I wanted! They had received my order but did nothing with it and the woman couldn’t care less. Food then took a further 40 minutes to arrive and when it arrived it was cold and horrible like it had been thrown together just to get it out. Won’t be ordering from here again

Waited 1 hour & a half for food live in a flat and the man wouldn’t bring it up to the flat but I can’t come down because I have a baby now 1am starving and no food he refused on the phone and left after I explained why.

Ordered a takeaway. The chicken burger was grilled in the bun, and the whole thing looked like it had been put in a George Foreman grill and squashed. The bun was literally squashed flat and was like a big crinkle cut crisp, both the top and bottom bread. It was literally inedible. Maybe we just had bad luck.

Ordered a load of food from them and it was 30 mins later than the already long hour and 20 min wait. When it got here 2 of the 3 orders where wrong and where all stone cold and unedible. My partners chicken was raw in the middle and mine was cooked to a crisp. Called them up to rude staff clearly not caring and then lieing to me about any type of refund. Never order from here just check just eats reveiws too. Filed a complaint with just eat as they were a joke. Avoid like the plague

Ordered via uber eats waited for 1.5 hours for grilled chicken and fries and they kept lying to us about delivery time. What a total joke of a restaurant! Don’t order here.

I usually get Lemon & Herb chicken wings from Pepe's and it's always delicious but ordered from here yesterday and they were extremely dry and burnt. I couldn't even taste the lemon & herb. Had to chuck it away after a few bites. Extremely disappointed.

The worst service in this place. The food service is so slow. And the quality of the food isn't great. Nothing really positive to say about this place.

When the food comes, it comes with a side serving of chips and the food is so delicious you will want to eat there every day. I had the chicken wrap, as I do every time and your mouth fills with flavour from the first bite. However, the wait is slightly long. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Waiting for more than 30 mins for a meal of chicken and rice is unacceptable. People who came in later had been served much earlier before I was. I got to come and ask them where my food is. No apology or something like that. My last few visits were also terrible as well. This used to be my favourite store, but they disappointed me a lot recently.

Pedí un Pepe's a través de Deliveroo. La primera vez que prueba el restaurante. Pedí una comida de envoltura de pollo peri peri suave. Me sorprendió gratamente lo bueno que era. La comida era deliciosa, gran tamaño de la porción y llegó muy caliente. El precio era razonable también. Definitivamente lo recomendaría y lo volveré a ordenar.

Food was gross, I has a chicken burger and it was no doubt the worst burger I have ever eaten. The person serving was arguing with just about everyone that also got served within the time I was there. Would not recommend.

I came here on my own many times and have always been pleased by my food. I normally go for the chicken and rice meal and the food honestly tastes so well seasoned almost like a Indian biryani but better.

Great food, but absolutely shocking delivery times and customer service. Just called because our delivery hadn't arrived within 2 hours of ordering. They hadn't even started, and took no responsibility for their mistake.

Best chicken in the world. Service is slow but worth the wait. I always get a whole chicken with Mango and Lime. Blows any other place out the park. Service needs to tighten up though!

Ordered takeaway and was told it would be 90 minutes. Arrived on time. Chicken was tasty but very dry. Fries had way too much spicy powder. Could be better.

Ordered takeaway at 4:20pm (understandably anticipated it being a busy day to order) It’s nearly 6:20pm and after a phone call at 6 “it will be 5 minutes”...still no delivery! No doubt the food will be cold when it arrives. Poor service indeed.

Lugar de pollo realmente bueno, excelentes precios y buena comida! Mucho mejor valor por dinero que otro lugar de pollo, es decir, gallos! Solo en el otoño fue la entrega, muchas cosas se estropearon y la comida estaba muy fría: (Definitivamente ve a este lugar y no ordenes a menos que vivas cerca

La comida siempre es perfecta, lo único que diría es que si recibes una entrega durante un tiempo ocupado, incluso en una noche de la semana, prepárate para esperar un rato. Ordenado a la mitad 7 esta noche y no llegó hasta las 9. 20 pm pero recibí una llamada telefónica para decirles que están ocupados y que están en camino. Creo que los clientes que ingresan a la tienda definitivamente tienen prioridad, pero cuando la comida es tan buena como la tengo, ¿estoy contento de esperar? la salsa de ajo es buena también!

Since my 1st review in 2015 this place has gone terribly down hill.

La comida es bastante sabroso, mucho mejor de lo que esperaba pensando que el lugar parece una barata y mala calidad llevar. El personal es amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar, en cuanto al restaurante está limpio, pero un poco fría.

Mi primera visita. Pollo y patatas fritas £2.49 copa costes extra, pollo no era realmente sabroso, patatas fritas comestible.

Estado aquí unas cuantas veces y siempre decepcionado por el servicio y la calidad de la comida y la mala gestión. La falta de atención al cliente. Hay muchos otros lugares para comer por Portswood evita este establecimiento caro y sin duda se merece 1 estrellas en su mejor momento.

Recently placed a Take-away order over the phone; I had specific instructions which were TOTALLY ignored. I said please include ketchup and paper towels and to call a given number. On two earlier occasions for dine-ins, they 'forgot' to provide paper towels and ketchup as well and we had to go and ask at the counter.Quality of food is also getting worse; one time got over-fried (or re-fried) chicken. Contacted their customer service by email to complain but never got a response. Would not recommend.

Ordered a 1/4 pounder meal and just a 1/4 chicken at 22.13. It was not busy at all. After 17 minute wait I enquired and was told to wait another 15 minutes for the chicken as it was being made 'fresh'..lame excuse. So I asked for a refund for the chicken. No apology from Khayam who served me, just a angry face

This Pepe's will always be one of my highlights of Southampton, whenever I'm visiting I make an effort to go. The staff are always friendly and it's consistently tasty.

Fresh food good price, food made to order Grilled chicken so tasty and peri peri fries spicy but really nice Will visit again

Great place, went in for a quick bite to eat.Met at the till by a very friendly member of staff. Took my order and food was given quickly.Well priced good quality food and nice and clean place inside.But above all the customer service is excellent.

Great food, very spicy, the staff were ok. I enjoyed it and I recommendIt. The food came quickly however the sauce leaked through the bag and went everywhere and stained.

A definite cut above other piri piri takeaways in this area. Delicious spicy chicken, cooked to order, burger was good too. Has good eat in space so feels more upmarket, have never had a bad meal here

Very flavor-some and well priced. Careful, the spicy is very spicy. The staff are helpful and the orders are quick, decor not quite my cup of tea though.

I visited the Slough branch and was very reluctant to try another branch, but went for it! The food at this particular branch was just brilliant! Will be visiting again!

I popped in here during my meal break from work. Looked like standard takeway joint, although clean and tidy and wasn't expecting much, but the piri piri chicken was spot on (see title!). I've not tried anything else on the menu, but the chicken is delicious. I'm off there now for lunch before I start my late shift :-)

After a bit of a slow start with long waits, Pepe's is now up to speed and is a favourite for fast food. In particular I just love the piri piri chicken with rice. It is just the right amount of food, is deliciously spiced and generally cooked to perfection. With the addition of a little sour cream, added at home to combat the heat, this is my number one favourite take away meal.

I had a bbq sizzler panini which was very pleasant. Very nice and clean restaurant will need to try a few more time to give a proper review.
