Worst food ever, fries crusty chicken burger dry the best part was the sprite which isn’t hard to get right.

I placed an order to be delivered via Deliveroo I received a half box of fries, the wrong drink and the smallest tub of coleslaw I’ve seen. The tub would have been more suited to contain a dip. I called and was told that they didn’t have any Pepsi left so had just given an alternative (without calling to check), in regards to the coleslaw “that’s the size they come in” was the response. And when I mentioned the chips, I just got told I’d need to contact Deliveroo as that’s who I paid. I called Deliveroo and as you can imagine was told that they were only responsible for the delivery and not the quality or accuracy of the food.

Was renting an apartment next door, so I picked up a takeaway from here 3 or 4 times in September. During that month, I sampled several of the takeaways close by as well. Pepe's was as good as any and better than some. The food always came up in about 5 minutes, which is impressive. The staff were a likable lot, working really hard (I didn't envy them), always in good spirits and friendly. In that respect, by far my favourite crew on the street. Mind you, half a chicken? Half a pigeon, more like. But the flavourings were spot on, and that's important. My favourite thing was their savoury rice--best rice in the takeaways I tried in Long Row West and a generous portion. I'd recommend that to go with whatever else you pick here. Plus the 5 wings, a more substantial offering than the half chicken. In a direct comparison with Roosters opposite, Pepe's comes out way on top. Roosters may be a tiny bit cheaper, but their portions are scrawny, and their sauces tasted vinegary to me. To be honest, I had to throw most of my Roosters meal away--that bad! Nando's, nearby, was a fair bit dearer than Pepe's; but their chicken was the best of the three shops, in my opinion, though still nothing special. On the other hand, I found Nando's rice stingier and less tasty than Pepe's. My half-chicken takeaway from the Amora Lebanese and Palestinian shop a couple of doors down from Pepe's was burned on the outside and bleeding inside--eek, binned! Horror story. Pepe's is mainly a takeaway shop, but it does have a few tables if you want to eat in. If I fancied a chicken takeaway in this area again, I'd go to Pepe's. Yes, it's just a cheap fast-food, chain takeaway, but it does what it says on the tin.

Very dirty inside I’d rather go somewhere else. No wonder it’s going down hill. Maybe focus more on cleanliness

Ordered on the 19.09.20 , chicken was overdone and received out of date side . Rang restaurant and told I was wrong even though I had it in front of me .

I stopped in late tonight as I was hungry and it was one of the only places open. I bought a chicken wrap. I thought the wrap was tiny and the whole meal overpriced at just under £8.

Ill be honest, i ate from here yesterday 4/1/2020 and today 5/1/2020 i have food poisoning 😣 never again

I'm a food conisseur and love to try new food and different types of restaurants/fast food places, it was my first time in pepes Nottingham city centre and the food and the staff are top notch. I have ordered a half chicken with mozzarella sticks, within 10 minutes I have received my food. They have forgotten my mozzarella sticks so a nice young gentleman with glasses deeply apologised and has given me extra 2 sticks! I know it's not a lot but the pure gratitude and humbleness won me over. I am definitely coming more often to pepes Nottingham thanks to the food and proffesionall staff.

Visited here on a Tuesday afternoon as we came across the shop and had high hopes. The menu was a unorganised and was quite difficult to read. Ordered a wrap, a burger, a piece of chicken 2 x fries and 2 x drinks. The portions were really small for £15 something. The chicken was stone cold and when my partner complained and got a fresh one the lady put the chicken which he had touched and took a bite from back into the hot plate waiting for another sucker to buy. The fries were okay but overall we’ll definitely not be coming back.

I lovee the food at pepes is the best ever and also the young lady at the front was so nice to me but gave me the wrong food but never mind that

Well priced meals and always good. They're speciality is the grilled menu so pointless coming here and trying the fried chicken and then complaining... I've had the pitta, wrap, xl burger and strips from here and they're all good. As was the quesadilla which they did briefly. Overall very happy.

Delicious,spicy chicken and selection of the spicy chips what a combination and cost of the food is cheap & best.I have been here couple of times for quick lunch.Always chicken is juicy,spicy & delicious.

Prices are very high for a fried chicken shop. The portions are small. Bought a chicken fillet burger for £3.89. On opening there was a few pieces of lettuce and a very thin fried chicken burger. Disappointing! Absolute rip off.

Staff serving at the front seemed uninterested, no smile or an attempt at making you welcome. Quite a long wait and pretty expensive for what you get. All in all not going back there are other places nearby that are cheaper and more better.

The young girl took our order was pleasant polite and friendly. Now the down side, we waited an age for the food people that came in after us got their food before us when it arrived the fries were cold so got them changed.... the burger was good but service not so good and very over priced. Menus not clear enough and we witnessed 6 complaints whilst we was there.

when they gave me my tray they placed the drink of Pepsi on the far corner and they blamed me for it falling,denied to give me another one.

Think of chicken, that glorious white meat, juicy, and everything supposedly tastes like it. Now, consider that I had spent the last 5 hours at work, it was 8pm, and I was hungry. Half way through a dreadful shift I felt the need to replenish my ever growing appetite, so a short wander up Angel Row took me to Pepe's Piri Piri. I've had a few people tell me it's a hit and miss place to eat, but cheap and cheerful.

Staff were fairly friendly and helpful. Waited an age, and it wasn't particularly busy. The portion size was incredibly small which made it expensive for what you got. The food was fresh however and tasty. aside from the piri piri fries, which looked like someone and thrown a handful of seasoning on 4 of the fries. Probably wouldn't go again.

The lady on the desk was polite however the food was very average, the service was slow in terms of getting the food ready to be taken away and portions are not worth what we paid. I think it was quite expensive as you could go to another shop pay the same price and get a lot more for your money. We thought to give it a go as I had never heard of it but I was pretty disappointed

Good sized meals with a range of options; grilled or fried in a variety of options. Pricing is pretty good to say this is in city centre; cheaper than roosters across the road and the portions are better sized, the flavour is also better. Even down the the detail, the burger bun here is much better than roosters who just seem to be making sly cut backs and changes without altering the price.

Good quality, affordable and quick tasty chicken with a variety of spicy levels. The chips aren't great and neither is the piri piri seasoning which is just scooped onto the chips. However the wings, classic chicken burgers are very delicious and freshly prepared and grilled. Would not really recommend the salad but if you're looking for a quick lunch/dinner pepe's offers quite speedy take away service.
