Lovely fish shop , the batter is lovely and crispy , great portions and the staff are very friendly too . Good prices also will go back .

Best fish and chips in penarth. I live closer to three other fish and chip shops but I would rather walk the extra distance to this one. Really nice guys as well and the owner is diamond.

Anyone that hasnt tried corneswell road fish and chip bar needs to show some love and treat themselves. The staff are wonderful, clean worktops between customers. Friendly and engaging. The fish and chips speak for themselves.Absolutely delicious soul food and lots of it. Don't take my word for it try yourself.You wont ever buy fish an chips anywher else.

When we arrived we was greeted by two chaps that were clearly not enjoying dealing with the public despite having an empty shop. So as conversation was not of the welcoming kind and they were rather hostile,I quickly ordered for myself snd my son. Sadly the pie snd chips meals were a disgrace that have gone straight to the bin.The chips were hard and cold,and the pies were tepid. They resembled microwaved fodder,that came apart from being smashed as a result of being badly wrapped with no care whatsoever. The Mushy peas side we ordered fared the worst,they had no fluidity to them and resembled concrete,thick hard mortar,and wouldn’t even come out of the container (despite being shook and held upside down). The gravy was slightly warmer,but that was the only near plus point,and this was undone by its thick and glutinous texture. It was clearly of cheap sub-standard ingredients and was gloopy,salty and of poor consistency.The highlight of the meal was the bottle of coke but then again that had nothing to do with the standard of cooking here. So I would come to the conclusion that I wouldn’t waste my time even parking outside of this take away again,let alone walking in there and ordering this poor excuse for meals,and all for the princely sum of over £12! Which makes it even more of an insult to the food industry.

I asked for slightly more salt after the guy loaded the chips with it after I politely asked him twice that’s enough. He still continued to shake the s as it if I had not paid I would have walked out. The chips were cold and it wasn’t pleasant. I will never go back. Disgusting food and even more disgusting service.

Consistently good looking, tasty, quality fish and chips. Unlike others claiming to be "posh", this is first rate fare.

Highly recommend this fish bar for fish and chips. We come from Cardiff to pick up our take away as so delicious. Recommend the curry sauce too. Always clean and staff friendly.

Living in Penarth this is our chip shop of choice. Fish cooked to order chips just as we like them. Good sized portions. Friendly welcoming staff.

After the good reviews I decided to travel from Cardiff Bay to try. Fish was freshly cooked and was very nice, although the batter wasn't particularly 'fluffy'. Chips were not so good - and at £2.90 was expensive for a large portion (that wasn't that large). The test is ' would I go back again'. Can safely say not special enough to do that. Pretty average. My F&C came to £7.50, which is almost what I can get this meal for in a proper pub/restaurant.

I always go to this chip shop - local and the chips are fresh and fish cooked to order except in busy times where fish is cooked continuously. Food is consistently good. Try the spicy curry sauce.

Being visitors to the area it is only right and proper that local fish and chips should be sampled. We both had jumbo sausage and chips, being civilised I also had peas and gravy. Everything was delicious and gave no repercussions. So in short this was just what we needed!

What used to be brilliant is now just run-of-the-mill, average. The last three times I've bought fish and chips here they palmed me off with fish that had obviously been cooked a long while ago and chips that were greasy. Not good.

We love plassey street fish bar thay are one of the best fish shops you will find .a very good Saturday afternoon dinner or tea or supper this fish shop has been around for ever well sincs I can remember any way.
