It was okay. Food took ages to come, not sure why as the place was empty and there were loads of staff working.

They no longer display the ice creams they have so you pick off a list. If they don't have it in stock, you get given what ever. Also if the person on the till is struggling to find "chocolate milkshake" don't try and suggest anything as it will just get added to your order even though you just tried to help them on the till. They act overwhelmed even though theres hardly anyone inside. I waited around 20 minutes for them to make 2 milkshakes and 2 pots of ice cream. In that time I noticed a waffle left on the side that was then microwaved to warm it back up. Absolutely disgusting if you pay so much for fresh

Had food there a couple times alright for the times I've been here, but my main complaint is the false advertisement. Upset my very much.

Server was amazing. Worked off her feet and still smiling with amazing service. Vegan cronus was good too.

We went to Kaspas yesterday evening! The desserts we had were absolutely gorgeous, we cleaned our bowls. The disappointing part was the seating area outside, it did not look very welcoming there was litter all over, around the benches outside the door to get in. You are not responsible for the dirty people who dump their litter but you are responsible for keeping the front of your business looking tidy and welcoming. Such a shame because inside is lovely.

Came today for my Sons 10 birthday and I was greeted by a lovely man, the desert shop was very clean with plenty of seating areas, I ordered 3 desserts, 2 for the birthday boy of course and one for myself. All the deserts came very quickly and looked and tasted delicious, whilst I was at the till the lovely man spotted my Sons birthday badge and said he could have a free drink or a slice of cake also. Thank you very much you made my Son a very happy boy on his Birthday! 😃

I just wanted to share the wonderful experience my daughter and her six 11 & 12 year old friends had at Kasper’s Barry Island yesterday evening for her impromptu birthday celebration. The staff were so warm, friendly, patient and accommodating and made the children feel so special. They played the birthday song, put a candle in her sundae and the food and drinks were presented beautifully. The staff smiled at their giggles and screams and the girls had such a wonderful time! Thank you so much! 👍🤗🎉

Not usually my type of thing. But me and the wife came here whilst on our anniversary break, so thought we would have a little treat. Quite expensive but needless to say the service was good and the food was delicious. The waffle with Strawberries and Maple syrup was just delicious.

Took kids for a dessert and as always Kaspas makes them happy.

With just two take away cones of ice cream ordered, we were told it'd be 10-15 minutes as we had to wait for the waffles etc that had been ordered previously to be made and our order had to wait it's turn... Odd for a 30 second order when there was only 3 or 4 occupied tables, but we said no problem and took a seat on one of the many empty yet slashed up booths to wait. When it was our turn, we'd ordered sprinkles on one of the ice creams (+75p)... The server just held the cone above a large open bin and began sprinking them over the cone.... About 5 of which stuck. I said "75p worth of sprinkles?" To which he actually laughed and turned around without saying a word, to start on the next order. To top it off there were big chunks of ice throughout my banana ice cream, so it had clearly defrosted and been refrozen. Just don't go here. I have no idea what standard Kaspas has on its outlets, but I can guarantee this one falls below it. Really disappointing.

We visited this establishment attracted by its great location and the promise of a pleasant interior ambiance. However, our experience was marred by poor service. The young girl, who appeared to be in training, was unfortunately not well-versed with the menu or our order. Seeking assistance from the manager, Amy, only added to our disappointment as her demeanor came across as condescending both towards the trainee and us, the customers, when addressing our inquiries. While we understand that every team can have an “off day,” this encounter left us feeling undervalued as patrons. Moreover, the food, though satisfactory, was basic. Ordering a combination of meal deals and a kids’ meal, we were surprised to find that children’s crisps were unavailable without any alternative offered, merely being informed that they were priced the same. Regrettably, we’ll be exploring other options during our next visit.

Terrible The woman who served claimed she owed the store. Knowing kaspers is a franchise...asked for our drink to be swapped as it was very powdery. Got a mango ice bubble drink in place. Was sour and tasted gone off. She refused us a refund. So rude going on bout her own experiences. Wow

Lovely gem of a place with excellent service. Spotlessly clean too, We had 2 toasted sandwiches with side salad, 2 bags of crisps and 2 cans of coke for £12.50 so very reasonably priced. Ice cream on the way out was an added bonus. Big shout out to Amy who served us she was so friendly and welcoming and is a credit to this establishment

Deliveroo messed up order but store staff were helpful and stayed beyond closing to complete order or collection after having to cancel delivery

Shop assistant serving was nice, we were sat waiting for 30 minutes for 2 waffles. Had warm ish Waffles and it just tasted like egg mixed with chocolate sauce. Wouldn’t really recommend to anyone

Have been to this cafe several times service and food always good but dissapointed today Ordered sandwiches with garnish on brown bread,came with white bread no garnish £5.95 when complaining was told should have asked for garnish,which previously came automatically.What is on the menu should be served.

Traveled 30mins to find out it was cash only. Waste of a journey . Staff not really helpful any other way to pay online . Wouldn’t bother trying again

Lovely visit to Kaspas and great service! Kids enjoyed the food and not a drop was left! Delicious, would highly recommend after the arcades but not before the waltzers :)

Wasn't going to leave a review of our visit to Kaspas as I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt but the attitude of one member of staff changed things. Whilst clearly short staffed, they managed to forget the drinks order and needed to be reminded to serve them; there was a long wait for a couple of crepes/waffles; was brought the wrong food initially; desserts finally brought to the table but was missing one which wasn't brought out until everyone else had finished but was the wrong order - the staff member did nothing but scoff and huff at the inconvenience. Asked for a refund instead of waiting as everybody else had finished and was given coins even though I paid on card and asked for the refund to be put back on the same card. The same staff member just ignored the request. There was a young lady working there who was very polite and trying her best to help everyone but the service overall was shocking.

Turned up the day before at 14:30 to the shutters down and a sign that said that they would open at 14:00…. Tried the next day and came in, was told there would be a long wait which is always the case as they are chronically short of staff always and the “temporary training of staff” is always permanent. Told us to sit down and thought oh okay, we will wait. Saw there was one person in the queue and they were taking orders so got up and started to queue too, at the front of the queue another person jumped in and said they were in the queue…. even though they were sitting down. We apologised to them as they said they had been waiting 30 mins to order and had been told to sit down? Not sure how you can queue sitting down but hey ho was still apologetic to the person as he had been waiting. No interjections from the cashier who may or may not have told him to sit down to wait to order, instead she just stood there as he shouted….. They claimed that they had 2 tables of 10 people come in on an unbooked table which was the cause of the stress and the hold on taking orders. What do other companies do during a rush!? They also started turning customers away at 17:20 when they advertise close at 22:30. We have had so many naff experiences here with an hours wait for dessert food which have been not too bad, but this one puts the nail in the coffin. Food often missing on Deliveroo orders which is bad but we knew what to expect there. Never again. No improvement in a year and a half of being local to this Kaspa’s. Perhaps some business management, training of staff, better rates of pay to help retain staff and just some sense of organisation is needed. Perhaps stating the man who said he was already in the queue (whilst sitting down?) should make his order instead as we didn’t mind waiting would have been good, or to take orders and explain there will be a wait for them like any competent establishment.

We visited on the 5th of November and I just have to say what amazing staff and environment, we came down for my little girls birthday and unfortunately the soft play we was meant to go to was closed we then had about 12 kids looking for something to do and luckily enough the gentlemen in kaspas sat us all with no problem and was so welcoming he went above and beyond for all of us and the desserts was lovely too will definitely recommend and re visit again Thankyou to the lad that helped us (think his name was jay)

What great staff work here. We had another company let us down for my nieces birthday. They welcomed us in with about 10 kids and 8 adults, gave us the back cubicles, the staff went out their way to make sure we had everything we wanted, were so polite and cheerful even though we had 10 loud kids with us, couldn’t appreciate the service any more, thankyou

Came with my friend and our kids as a half term treat. Kids love the place. We've been to other Kaspa's but this one seemed more compact and cozy and really clean. Surprised to see a real mix of ages with the staff. Overall, great experience, and good service from all the staff (especially considering how busy it was)

Unfortunately today was a zero mark up from me. I love Cadwaladers, it's usually very dog friendly and so are the staff.. The place is not 100 % clean... Could be down to lack of staff.... However when I called in today for just a coffee, the young lady who was serving mega stressed out, apologised that I would have to wait as she was preparing 2 food dishes... This I didn't mind as she was on her own.... 10 mins later she asked me what I wanted. I asked for a latte. She told me there was only decaff as the filter machine was not working.. Anyway, off to Marc's.. Not her fault of course but cor blimey, what's occurring 😊

Our experience was ruined as a first time here. Staff were rude with poor Service. The lady was rude as we sat down for no reason and another didn't give us cutlery l also seen a lady want vegan food and the worker was laughing when she left

. We ordered a hazelnut and pistachio gelato milkshake and a cookie and cream milkshake but just got 2 vanilla milkshakes. . We asked for whipped cream (which costs extra) and didn’t get it. . The hot cookie dough and waffles came cold (possibly fault of Uber Eats) . The milkshakes came in 2 different size cups (there is no size choice available so we were very confused)

This place is amazing. I usually grab a milkshake to go, but have started working my way though their choices of doughnuts. Even when its busy, staff here are great and can never do enough for you.

Lovely and clean dessert bar. Tasty desserts, always good value for money considering location. Wanted to try their new Mango bubble tea. Was not disappointed. Kaspas Barry Island you will be seeing me again soon

Ordered a biscoff dessert from here on Uber eats £12 with delivery 11/10/23 around 615 had a notification that it was delivered to the address (645) (we checked outside nothing was there) because of this it doesn’t allow you to refund on the app So I rang up the Barry store (7pmish) and a young guy was on the phone and said to me that his manager is on break and they will be back in 15 minutes took my number and said they would call back Never called back so I rang 15 mins before they closed nothing back I’ve tried again 3 times the day after it rings and goes to answer machine It’s only £12 but the fact they’ve taken my money, I didn’t get the product and then to say they would call back and never did is just awful service Won’t use again if no refund is issued

Arrived at Kaspas to be greeted by a sign saying wait to be seated,we waited and waited,the queue got bigger and no one came,so we all sat ourselves. We ordered on the app as advised, two waffles and two cups of tea. It took 20 minutes for the teas and over 1 HOUR to get the waffles when it wasn’t even that busy… there was little to no apology for the wait/ very poor service from the staff. An awful experience after what we are used to at the Cardiff shop.There needs to be a lot more staff employed and someone to actually manage the place,wouldn't visit this shop again.

I am very happy to visit this place. I saw there are new young staff. They are very professional and nice. I want to come again to meet these kind people from Ukraine. They are amazing and friendly. That why many owners want to hire Ukrainians.

They were meant to close, but left the store open for us through the night, we went as 15-20 people and service was really good, food came quickly and really nice bags of flavour, wide variety, I would recommend everything on this menu, owner was a nice respectable guy.

We were here for a short weekend and came to Kaspas as a treat to finish off the weekend. On arrival Kelis and Rafey looked after us and a big thank you to both. These guys are an asset to this place. Overall all staffs were nice and friendly.

The service was satisfactory, menu was not offered to us, we had to pick up from the counter, staff looked like they were on a break... at least they were friendly when we ordered. Bit over priced, I dont mind spending money on desserts, but you can get better desserts at smaller establishments for much better price. Overall satisfactory, the quality and taste is good, but I'm not coming back anytime soon

Absolutely disgusting customer service! Popped in this evening asking to use the toilet, the lady behind the counter explained the toilets are for customers only. Fair enough! I said i would buy something and could i use the toilet please? She just ignored me and carried on doing whatever she was doing. No response at all. Wouldn't eat there now out of principal.

Very bad experience. Me and my friends were waiting for more than fifteen minutes to take orders at the counter.. Nobody minded us, just gave bad attitude and pretended busy! We felt it quite racist and we could confirm as they served white people just after us when we walked out!!! Can't believe how rude people can be!!

Nice food but one member of staff let it down, she was so rude. She called to say our takeaway order was ready, but we misheard her and thought she was calling someone else. She stared at us with daggers as she walked over to us, threw the food on the table. The pot of cream on top of the box slid off and went flying. She just walked away, didn't say a thing. I said oh sorry I didn't realise it was our order.. she turned around and sarcastically said oh that's ok no worries. It's a shame. Also 1 crepe was ready at least 10 minutes after the other one so it was just sitting there going cold

Staff were totally lovely and friendly, milkshake I had was really good. The tables and booth were clean. The only problem was that we had about a 20 minute wait. There was only 1 person in front of us and a lot behind. As there were only 2 staff I could see I think the priorised taking orders. They could do with having more staff on a weekend.

It was torture being inside these premises when I just took a New Year's Vow 2 days before to be healthier, but StepSon really wanted one, and it looked absolutely delicious. I held my own, but next time I down and my health lifestyle is on point a cheat day will be at Kaspas down Barry Island.

Took about half an hour for ice cream sundae , very loud family behind where we were seated.

My friends and I have been taking our children on as many FREE day trips as we can throughout the school summer holidays. On this occasion it was one of the children's birthdays and she wanted to spend the day with her friends at Barry Island. We packed the cars with beach toys, drinks and picnic food and set off early. We arrived at Barry Island for 9am and the beach was very quiet, so the children enjoyed playing cricket and football, and run around with their kites. After lunch, the children wanted ice-cream, so we took them for a treat to Cadwaladers. Cadwaladers was very busy with a queue outside. After a short wait we were shown to our table which was wiped by the young friendly waitress. The restaurant area looked clean and dogs were welcome. We browsed the menu and the children were amazed by the array of desserts on offer. The birthday girl ordered a warm chocolate muffin melt sundae covered in vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and cream. She was over the moon when her mother placed an unlit number 5 candle in it and took her photo. The others chose mars, mint, strawberry and twix sundaes, the banana waffle stack and Knickerbocker glories. The adults in the group just ordered drinks. The sundaes were brought to the table in quick succession and they were enormous. The younger children shared because they would have struggled to finish the sundaes. The children reported that the ice-cream tasted fantastic. The sundaes were nicely presented with fresh fruit (where applicable). There were lots of flavours, cream and sauces. The average cost of the desserts was about £6. We would recommend Cadwaladers if you are looking for ice-cream or snacks such as bacon rolls, sandwiches, homemade pizzas or toasties.

Great friendly staff and amazing desserts, clean and smart looking shop as well, and prices are low as well so I would buy from here again so I can enjoy a dessert at the beach.

Just ordered off Just Eat as a treat to end a lovely day. What a huge disappointment it turned out to be. They delivered only half of what I ordered. The hot apple crumble, butterscotch sauce and hot custard never arrived. And what did arrive was not worth the money. The Choc and Nut waffle which cost a total of £10.49 was around 6/8 inches, cold, had been covered in melted chocolate but barely any nuts. Save yourself the bother....you can get a pack of 6 delicious sugar waffles for a couple of quid in the supermarket together with sauces and chopped nuts for a fraction of the price. This was my first order from Kaspas and after all the hype I'd heard I was left with nothing but a sense of disappointment. Overrated. UPDATE: Thanks for the reply, which has taken you over two weeks!!! For your information I contacted the link you quoted 2 weeks ago also, they acknowledged receipt automatically but they haven't had the courtesy to respond to date either. Not great service really, is it? UPDATE 2: Still no response....from anyone....at all...just goes to show how important your customers are to you. It seems to me that we come at the bottom of your list for resolving complaints, courtesy of replies etc. Disgraceful way to treat your paying guests.

For context, I've been to three different Kaspas across the UK (Barry, Cardiff and Swindon) and all seem to come with their own quirks and perks. Hopefully you might find this useful. I'll start by saying the food was good. I don't think it can be helped that an icecream parlour next to the sea would be busy - this is not the reason for 4 stars, you can't help that. My wait time was 10 minutes and absolutely no big deal. Taste was not a bother either, each branch creates the icecream a little differently. I also think the staff are pretty nice. Given the pressure of such a busy location they have the front line task more than cardiffs one or swindons one which is always quiet.) I don''t think it's really fair to rate on that basis. My only concern really is that the rented venue feels too small / cramped. It felt quite crowded and close together -- perhaps the layout needs to be re-arranged? The Swindon one is massive and gets way fewer people per day - I'd assume location costs are a thing. One general advisory is don't overorder. One sundae is usually enough, and the waffles are tasty but very filling - that goes with a lot of stuff here. You''ll also probably get brainfreeze if you eat too fast. Still recommend over the general icecream, unless you're on a budget.

Kaspa's Cardiff is decent, but after visiting this Barry Island restaurant, we've been put off from visiting in future, waste of money.

Wrong order sent, no one answering the phone. Waited an hour for an order for it to be wrong

After paying for 2 orders, we waited 5 minutes, and they came to warn that the strawberry and banana ice cream was over :(( And the order for a large cone, a milk shake came .. I went to complain and the attendant still looked sick, save Kaspas!

Went in there on 1st June 2022 to change my grandaughters nappy and feed her with all intentions of ordering desserts and drinks to be approached by a male member of staff and I asked if he could open the toilet to change my grandaughters nappy and he said are you going to be purchasing any thing and I said yes as soon as I've sorted the baby out so after changing her I then sat down and fed her when he said you have five minutes to order or we will have to leave and it wasn't said in a polite way he had stinking attitude and I replied saying I would order as soon as I had finished feeding the baby to which he said if u ain't going to look at the menu and order within 5 minutes then we needed to leave as other people would want to sit in the booth we was in baring in in mind the store was empty so we just got up and left not before complaining but convenient there was no one free to take my complaint so had to wait and the response off the female staff was I will have a word. So dissatisfied with the service we recieved

Update: after a chat with the manager we returned the following week. The place was like a different venue! All the staff were busy, we were greeted and seated instantly, all tables were clean and being cleared in a quick time and the food was lovey. We will be returning, and I have edited my rating to reflect the vast improvement the staff and management made in such a short time. Visited yesterday to celebrate some good news with family. On arrival 3 people standing around behind the counter, just looking into space. After 10-15 minutes a girl came over and told us to go find a table and come to the counter to order. We looked for a table as many had not been cleared or cleaned and had stacks of dirty plates on them complete with leftover ice-cream. We were going to order but a man from an adjacent table was told his family would have a 40 minute wait! My son went to ask at the counter how long the wait on food was and was told we need to order before getting a time, asked staff again and told vaguely "not too long". There was a horrendous noise coming from the ice cream machine in the front window and another family my husband knew were only given part of their order with their child not being given their ice cream. Both our family and the family on adjacent table left without ordering, as did another group of around 5 girls. Management seriously need to shake it up and train the staff in good hospitality, customer service, and hygiene of the venue.

We ordered food at 19:45 to be collected through Uber eats, I had a messaged at 19:55 to say our food was ready for be collected. We drove down and went inside, no one greeted us for about 5-10 minutes on arrival. Adventurually A staff member came over to ask if he had been served and I said no we have a Uber order, the women informed me that our food was being cooked. Seemed like a lot of food was being made but nothing was going out. We continued to wait and in the end we waited 30 minutes in the shop. No one apologised for the food being late or that we waited a long time. we got home (only living 2 minutes away) and our food was cold. I am absolutely devastated as I normally like Kaspa’s but after my experience I doubt I’ll be going back anytime soon.

Absolutely shocking customer service. Clearly staff have no idea what they are doing. One occasion sent the right crepes but missing the soft ice cream. Gave them benefit of the doubt and ordered again and received someone else’s order. Then tried to blame the Uber driver and then to be told to ask Uber for a refund. Shocking !!!

I have been to other similar ice cream/dessert parlours before. As well as cafes and gelaterias across France, Germany and Italy. This place holds its own. Hands down the best waffle I've had in the UK/Europe. Crispy on the outside, soft, fluffy but not dry in the middle. The staff were great. Friendly, helpful and Welcoming. Loved it!

Absolute joke. Ordered 2 ice creams n received one. Told driver he said he got someone else’s food too so he can’t go back and get my missing one. Just told me to call and complain. Ridiculous

The gelato ice cream is really good! The prices are a bit expensive but worth it for what you get. Portions are massive and ice cream is high quality. Delivery was also fast and ice cream hadn't melted by the time it got to my house.

We always go to Cadwaladers when we visit Barry Island, with three greyhounds not always easy to find a place they all fit, but Cadwaladers always makes us welcome. Service and food excellent, and on this trip we were surprised by the extra value, they were still operating a Eat out To Help Out scheme, so super value for our snack and drinks.

Popped in for a coffee and ice cream whilst on an afternoon ramble. The staff were very attentive and the social distancing set up was on point. Our dog was also welcomed with a bowl of water. Couldn’t ask for more.

After a long drive we needed somewhere to have a quick drink and something to eat, my partner and our daughter had ice cream sundaes, and I had a cappuccino and bacon sandwich, my son had beans on toast had he said they were the best he's ever had, and he's eat a few. The staff where attentive and explained all the covid restrictions, there was even a little sheet stuck to the table explaing it to. Thanyou for setting us up for a great day at Barry and we will come back again.

In these times when we are asked to support local and small businesses we expected the cafe to be efficient and welcoming. Understandably we were asked to wait outside for a few seconds to get a table however a few seconds turned into 10 minutes as the members of staff concentrated on opening post and boxes. We were then seated and told to wait for someone to take our order. We waited and waited, no one approached us or looked in our direction to take our order. After awhile we left without any lunch and two hungry children and two disappointed parents. In the time where businesses are slowly adapting to these new times we expected better service in this busy seaside and tourist driven town.
