Celebrated my wife's 60th Birthday in the Restaurant upstairs. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

My lovely Uncle George and Auntie Wien treated me to tea food was tasty fresh and hot absolutely loved it.

Good atmosphere, good beer not to moan about.

Disappointed the stopped taking amex. Other than that a great bar with decent beer

Went on steak night and the food and wine were nice and plentiful.. Great for 30 quid but the Morretti beer downstairs at a fiver a pint just wasn't Morretti at all.. Nice upstairs though

Friendly atmosphere, massive selection of drinks available with live bands on most weekends, quiz nights, pool and darts league, duke box also beer garden outback and got to mention the best hand dryer in the North East 👌

The food was a little worse than I expected. The staff were kind. Overall, it's a good place to watch the game with some pub food, but I would go somewhere else if I had a choice.

Always a great night here.usually go on a saturday night as there is a band playing.would recommend a visit to anybody.

Had the steak and bottle of wine for two deal £30.The wine was good but the steak could have been better. The plain pine tables could do with a upgrade.

A massive thank you the bar staff one in particular ( I didn't get her name) for helping us out with a taxi after being ejected at pelaw station ( missed our last metro to shields 🙈) and being in unfamiliar territory she went above and beyond and helped us out immensely 👏👏

Decent bar, got a pool table and live music can be great at times.

Took a sneaky peek into the back(naughty naughty me...) and peeped a lass at the sinks licking the plates clean. Great job, love the dedication will be coming back again! 👍

Was canny had the Heineken, quick service but then it was a quiet evening lass behind the bar was polite and friendly so all good.....although and I know I'm carrying a few pounds felt like I was gonna go through the seat when I sat down.....

Friendly staff. Good value. Poor and actually almost no vegan options available... this was opposite to what is advertised. We were told they hsd vegan cheese!!? They managed to provide something but they need to alter their advertising!

Good place to hang out, as far as local pubs go it’s a typical local pub, your typical pool table that’s guarded by a group of men who occasionally grunt in each other’s direction, a few tables of drunk people having a laugh and ok music. Clean and tidy :)

I might be biast but I just started working here after lock down and can honestly say I've never been happier coming to work staff and management are awesome all part of a team who are there for each other and work hard abiding by new guidelines as are the customers who feel safe but still enjoy having some social time and a laugh Restaurant is always busy with customers coming back for more amazing Italian cuisine (children are welcome in restaurant) xx ♥️

Le Olive Verdi After having this restaurant recommended and going by the reviews on this site we tried the Sunday lunch today. Really disappointed with the decor and the main course of roast beef, the worst I’ve tasted in some time, although the onion and Parmesan soup was very nice. Prices are average. Wouldn’t recommend or return

This refers to the Le Olive Verdi Italian restaurant located above the pub. Ordered potato skins, which were over fried and burnt to a crisp. We also ordered garlic mushrooms which seemed to be tinned. My Pizza pepperoni was a soggy tasteless, mishmash of gooey cheese, tough pepperoni pieces with a shocking base plus the pasta served was the wrong choice with far too much chilli despite asking for no chilli. The replacement pasta was also way too spicy with chilli. Overall, very disappointing extremely poor quality food.

Went to Oliva Verde last night. Absolutely beautiful food. All fresh and home cooked. Best meal out in a good while. Definitely be back.

l'Oliva Verde is a lovely restaurant above the pelaw Inn pub, family friendly, plenty to choose from authentic Italian food.

Its local bar that you would walk past but if you did you would be making a mistake if you like friendly staff and locals, they also have cracking local bands on at the weekend and a really good buskers on a Thursday night top quality night

not the Pelaw Inn but the Pizzeria above- 1st class so good - excellent atmosphere - I mean go there!! - staff great - food outstanding for being local - get off fast food n taste real food!! atmosphere we started at 5.00pm by 5.30 place was buzz - party of 10 n we had some off the happy hour n some from the formal menu - service - A1 - outstanding

Very average local pub, for local people only! Excellent live music venue but only basic beer on offer (no bottles Bud?) and not a warm welcome from staff or locals. Not recommended!
