The shakshuka had an huge overload of seeds and nuts on top and I couldn’t see the eggs. There was very little yoghurt used, also everything was freezing as soon as it arrived including the coffee. The cake was very dry too. Also I ordered bacon with the shakshuka and it was rock hard and I could barely chew it. My partner got French toast but it actually tasted ‘eggy’ and seemed more savoury than sweet. The staff were lovely but it was clear to see there was one tiny understaffed kitchen with a mass amount of seating which was around 80% full and staff running around trying to keep on top of everything. The atmosphere was very dark and you couldn’t decipher the style they were going for. The premises was actually lovely just needed some TLC.

U come out smelling like fried good. Shakshouka very dry at times and sometimes done ok. I always stick with turkish eggs. Gluten free toast available Lovely green decor Edit- shakshouka may have been removed when I went recently- sorry dint notice as I stopped looking for it. There are many other great alternatives anyway and great coffee :) just hope the smell thing gets sorted so we can nip in between work and have something and not go back with the fried smell.

I decided to pass several other brunch/breakfast establishments and make a beeline for Tiny Tiny, having visited several times in the past. The thing that struck me most was the increase in price. Tiny Tiny - the bill was not. Turkish eggs for £14. Using "heritage" eggs does not justify the price. I actually ordered the Continental Club sandwich and *really* fancied those "heritage" eggs so paid £2 per egg for two poached eggs on the side. I'm guessing that they were poached in water with a hefty dash of premium artisinal cianti red wine vinegar. Vinegar for poaching - ruined the taste of those pricey eggs. The food no longer justifies the price increase across the menu for me.

I went here twice, ordering a pour over each time and Turkish eggs and Moroccan avocado (I added poached eggs as extra). Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Very unique flavours and big portions. Slightly on the pricey side, but still was worth it in my opinion to experience the new flavours and something different during my short visit to Newcastle. Very glad I found this place. If I lived there this would be my go-to for coffee as it was very well brewed and by far the best coffee during my trip. Up there with the best specialty coffee I've had in other cities. I wish I had a chance to try the brew bar but it wasn't open during my visits.

Food is amazing (Moroccan eggs with avocado and spicy sausage is a must), great coffee, nice vibe but above all amazing staff! We were attended by Callum and Emilia who were super friendly, quick, professional and knowledgable to advise about the food. We ended up staying for a cake (both carrot cake and Bakewell tarts are worth trying) and tea to just chill and read a book. I wish this place was in London, I would have become a regular visitor. The atmosphere is quite nice and people are very friendly. However did not enjoy my breakfast dish today (Turkish Eggs) I thought it had too many elements that did not match together. I have tried the same recipe in different variations so quite well aware of the different ways to make it. But there were just too many spices and ingredients. The dried apricots are not acidic enough for the dish. Should have been replaced with pomegranate perhaps. Too many nuts with strong flavor, recommend stick to one type. There is no need for the 5 spices with sesame. I barely finished the two eggs (after digging for it beneath the heavy spice / nut carpet) And could not even enjoy the dish. The cold brew was good. Overall pricing was slightly above average imo. I paid 20 pounds for a drink and eggs. Which I think is expensive

We went with our newborn and they helped us through the side door. Then gave us a table with good space to have the pram next to it and not get in the way. I could not recommend this place any more. Great place ! I love coming back here, sometimes even by myself. They have the best avocado in toast I ever had in any cafe. They always add extra touch to it and taste so delicious! Today I have decided to try their special coffee menu. It was my first time try so I have asked for the recommendation. I got recommended natural, parama geisha. In beginning I was quite sceptic, as fruity coffee.. how can it be tasty ? And some special brewing method .. why would it be any better than normal brewed coffee ? After today’s experience, I can say openly worth a try! The coffee had the comforting taste with the element of sweet and sour. Never had anything like that. The brewing showcase was quite interesting, the gentleman took me through the process and described different types of roasting and different tastes, which was really educational. If you like your coffee and want to try something new , it’s much recommended ! The experience is really worth it ! Cafe generally has really nice ambience, relaxing music and WiFi if you need to finish your work as well :p

During my visit to Newcastle, my friend introduced me to Tiny Tiny, a cozy specialty coffee shop in Carliol Square. We shared the Block & Bottle smoked streaky bacon and fried egg stottie, which featured local dry-cured smoked streaky bacon, a heritage fried egg, and onion ketchup. The portion was generous, and the flavors were incredible, making it a memorable dish. The coffee was also outstanding, perfectly complementing the hearty breakfast. For those unfamiliar, a stottie (or stotty) is a type of bread originating from North East England. It's a round, flat loaf with a heavy, dense texture. The name comes from the Geordie word "stot," which means to bounce, referring to the bread's thick and robust consistency. Traditionally, stotties were baked on the floor of the oven, giving them a distinctive texture and flavor that makes them perfect for hearty fillings. Tiny Tiny's warm ambiance, excellent service, and quality offerings make it a must-visit spot in Newcastle, especially for coffee and brunch lovers.

i cant lie this place is so gentrified its insane… why is there apricots and walnuts on the turkish eggs???? WHY SO MANY???? when i sent it to my turkish friend she just said “white ppl…” IT COST £14 MIND YOU! oh and £4.50 for 2 sausages…. so for £18 you can get 2 eggs, a pile of walnuts and apricot and a tiny bit of yoghurt. There was more walnuts than yoghurt. Oh, and its £1 if you want chocolate on your latte, so an iced mocha is £5 ! listen this is worse pricing than london. I just cant believe how much they charge. they asked if we wanted to tip before we had got our food. just insane pricing for Newcastle edit because the owner got mad: I did a geography degree, I know what gentrification is. I also have worked in 2 coffee shops over tbe last 2 years, i love making a mocha!! i work in service so know how much it struggles. i also know, during a cost of living crisis, that eating out is a luxury for many and i reserve the right to be outraged by prices :) we were sat outside so we had to pay first and were asked to tip. you should look up reverse racism because you dont seem to understand it. have a nice day!

Sadly since the expansion it’s just not it anymore. Went there for the last time on a Sunday for a drink and brunch. Very busy place, which has been the case in the past but the waiting staff seemed simply stressed and overwhelmed. I’m sure it was like 3 of them compared to a very large space and a seemingly overstaffed kitchen. Took ages for someone to take our order, I had to catch one of the staff as she was running past our table back and forth and ask to have our order taken. Which she did, but after waiting endlessly we found out she hadn’t even passed it on to the kitchen. We stood up and left shortly after that. As for the coffee, no offence to anyone, but it isn’t what it used to be. The prices are quite high for what you get as I think the place is understaffed and I’d be very curious to know what the employees think about this….

Tiny Tiny, (previously Flat Caps) is one of the best coffee shops in Newcastle. It's a little bit hidden but is central and they're dog friendly which is enough to instantly love the place. The cinammon roll is lush (especially if you catch it fresh out the oven), their menu is great food that makes you feel good too. The staff are lovely and informative and the atmosphere is a cosy vibe perfect for working, meeting friends or reading a book. It's an open kitchen, so if you really want to, you can see the chefs at work. There's a large collection of plants around the walls and hanging from the ceilings, adding to the serene feel of the place. But the star of the show here is their coffee. They usually offer a small card with the different beans they are using that day (not sure how often this gets changed but it feels fairly frequent) and it is always made to perfection. The coffee is consistently smooth, flavourful and one of my personal favourites in the city.

I was looking forward to this and ended up feeling disappointed. The Turkish Eggs (yoghurt based not tomato) had small bits that tasted like candied fruit. It didn’t work with yoghurt and eggs. The huevos rancheros was quite plain. Roughly £11 a dish and then £4.50 for sausages on top… I have had much better brunches for that price and I didn’t think the menu was impressive either. It’s very busy (call and reserve a table) so they definitely have nailed their target market. I must just not be in it.

Popped in here for breakfast a few days ago after seeing a Tik Tok post, and it really appealed to me. We would have never passed this place when we were out and about in town, but now I know where it is, we'll definitely be back. We initially thought that it was quite expensive for breakfast. I ordered the French toast at £16 and my husband had a Mexican style breakfast, which I think came to £15 with the sausage as an extra. When the food came out, the portions were huge and we both really enjoyed it. So although it could be seen as quite pricey, it definitely felt like a justifiable amount of food for the price and the quality was great. And I guess most places these days are quite expensive, no matter where you go. I had a coffee, and my hubby had a pot of tea. I was a bit gutted that my much more expensive coffee lasted nowhere near as long as his cheaper pot of tea, which he got atleast 2 cups from, so I opted for a tea too, as my second drink. Both the lady and young guy who served us were lovely. And it was nice being able to see into the open kitchen, as they cooked your food. I really liked this place and would definitely recommend it. I would have given 5 stars if it had been a little cheaper, but I guess the costs of running a business in town probably justify that. I just don't think that we'd come regularly if it's going to cost us £40-45 for 2 breakfasts and a couple of drinks. I definitely wouldn't be bringing my son too, at those prices. But worth it as an occasional treat!

I've been coming here for months now and always enjoyed the food, coffee, and service. It's a lovely place to come with friends or to relax with a book. But the prices have gone insane. Totally understand the need to account for the cost of living crisis and have no problem with the price of the coffees, but the price for food is crazy! £16 for French toast. £9.50 for a bacon and egg stottie. If you want to add vegan feta or bacon to a meal, it's an extra £4.50. The quality of food is fantastic, and the ingredients used are clearly of a good quality, but even then, the price is still too high. There's only so much you can reasonably charge for a bacon and egg sandwich, and £9.50 is too much. It won't stop me coming as the coffee, atmosphere and staff are all lovely and fantastic. But I'll definitely need to reduce how often I visit as the prices have exceeded what I would consider affordable for a casual cafe outing.

Lovely cafe. Food was excellent, I had shakshuka, recommended by my daughter. The coffee is good too. The decor is lovely, kind of industrial style, very cool and I like all the plants. The loo was a bit scruffy, that was the only negative, everything else was great.

It was a great place for iced coffee. The menu looked great and I'd definitely like to go back to try. There was loads of space in there.

Food was lovely, the price wasn’t. Service wasn’t great either, no service checks and had to go to the till to pay. Seats also too uncomfortable. 7/10

Called in because : 1- we were in Newcastle and sick & tired of the chain coffee shops 2- it's dog friendly, a rarity in city centres. Coffee is very good, ditto the cakes even if the first two choices were sold out. It was late afternoon to be fair. Pleasant staff and a bowl of water for the dog was supplied , nice touch. The sofas, chairs and carpeted areas could do with a visit from a cleaning company in fairness. Other than that, a pleasant break and I have to say the meals looked very good. Maybe next time 🙂

2nd visit today for breakfast with a friend. Having been previous and devoured the Turksish Eggs, I couldn't resist a second try. My friend followed suit, and OMG they were even better! A lovely coffee and great service. Tiny Tiny you've nailed it! Can't wait to return.......I may even try something else on the menu!!

Amazing to see this business evolve over the years. Remember going to original flat caps downstairs from that weird hippy shop. Anyway one thing remains, the coffee is still of an exceptional standard, however now the choice of food is excellent, which makes it a real destination for all things breakfast and brunch related.

1st time visiting here after a search for somewhere new to go for breakfast in Newcastle. Greeted as soon as we entered, staff were lovely. Not the biggest menu, but a varied choice. I opted for the Turkish Eggs and they were stunning! Coffee good too, although no syrups on offer. Will 100% return.

While my car was in the garage I searched for dog friendly cafe close to me and found flat caps looks great! We had a walk on down so me and the dog could grab some breakfast. The staff were super friendly I when I arrived and brought the dog a bowl of water, I ordered poached eggs on toast(which was good to be fair) and I asked for 2 sausages on the side, to which I was asked if they are for the dog, “yeah we’re both starving” but was told sorry no you can’t have them we don’t allow the dogs to have any food sorry! And with that my breakfast ruined as I ate and my dog guilt stared me the whole time Honestly it would have been a 5star breakfast but the dog was pissed! And to a dog lover that trumps everything

Music venue, no food served. Old and young, brilliant atmosphere with different genres of music every night. Very reasonable prices for drinks and most gigs are free.

Meat was absolutely amazing, so tender and just fell apart. The roast was served with a lovely yorkshire, mash, a hasselback potato and seasonal veg including parsnips and red cabbage. We also got extra gravy at no charge which is always good! Just wish there was proper roasties and more of them

Good juke box. Shame about the prices though. £14. 75 for a pint and a double gin x tonic was a bit steep.
