Just had a very pleasant lunch here today 18th Sept. Four of us having food and a hot drink. Greeted and served by very pleasant staff. The food we had was hot, tasty and very well presented. Four coffees, again, all nice and hot.Everywhere was very clean and tidy. will definitely return. Thank You.

I have used this cafe daily for coffee and snacks, your prices are disgustingly too much, as you have increased them recently, i am a local here and support this cafe, i came in today, still half hour before they close to have coffee in a cardboard cup £3.50 should have gone to cooplands, wont be using this cafe again.

Not great for Coeliacs. Whilst they offered gluten free pannini or Jacket potato, stated they couldn’t guarantee totally gluten free as the kitchen was apparently too small, which is absolutely no good for true Coeliacs. I could only have a black coffee whilst my husband and granddaughter had their breakfast. I would rather they didn’t offer it at all if they don’t understand the potential impact!

Lovely lunch. Nice bacon rolls, toasties and fresh baked scones. The toilets next to the cafe let it down. They are the only ones on the park and their condition was horrendous, quite possibly the most disgusting public toilets I have ever encountered. We could not use them! I reported it to the cafe to be told they didn’t have a radio so I had to report again at the kiosk… I wasn’t really wanting to spend my afternoon finding someone interested in the toilets. We left and went to other toilets elsewhere skipping the planned pedalo hire.

We ordered 2 quarter pounder cheese burgers. What we got, after a VERY long wait, was nothing like a quarter pounder, more like a discount store cheapest burger you can buy burger. There were loads of staff, only they didn't seem to be doing much, certainly weren't in the kitchen helping with the food. Even when the bell was rung to say food was ready to be served, they were still talking among themselves and ignoring the fact that someones long waited for food was ready. My advice to anyone looking to eat there, go and find a small cafe nearby, probably much better food and service.

Very overpriced all of a sudden and the girl who I believe was the supervisors was blatantly rude and ignorant to all ignoring customer questions and instead rudely directing other staff too answer instead despite her not looking very busy and just came across very arrogant and rude.

Absolutely beautiful park albeit part of the park was under construction however this should not deter your visit. Just of the bus from Whitby, headed to the cafe - the staff were really friendly and helpful, bacon sandwiches for 6 please - lovely and washed down with a choice of coffees and teas whilst sitting outside overlooking the lake. Would definitely recommend! Thank you

We ordered a chicken mayo panini with salad and fruit teas. You couldn't taste the mayonnaise, you couldn't taste the chicken (what little there was of it), and the panini was almost wafer thin. The bits of salad weren't the freshest either. Thank goodness the tea was OK.

I cannot believe that on the afternoons of the naval show( excellent) the cafe closes at 4.00pm prompt. How does this make business sense? As we were turfed off seats and walked away, at least another 10 people who were would be customers were equally amazed at the closing hour.

Was really disappointed having paid £5.95 to find the jacket potato doesn’t come with butter on. One of the waitresses told me I had to pay for butter after my food had came out and I had to line up in the long queue whilst my food was going cold to pay. Overall a disappointing experience and I will not be returning.

After a drizzly walk around Peasholm Park (which is lovely in any weather), we popped in here for a drink. We got a lovely cheerful welcome from the two ladies behind the counter, who served us two piping-hot – and very tasty – coffees. We treated ourselves to one of the scrummy flapjacks and sat on the comfy sofas, taking in the lakeside views. It was a lovely way to spend half-an-hour.

Clotted cream didn't taste like cream The 2 cappuccino were the worst coffee I have ever had Very disappointing as the location is lovely. My husband had eaten here a couple of years old and said how lovely it was.

Visited Peasholme Park and the little cafe near the lake that is called Foodetc. We visited the cafe for a breakfast roll. I am gluten-free so was surprised that they offered a gluten-free option. I ordered a bacon and egg roll, expecting to have to leave the bread because as most gluten-free rolls are quite heavy. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised. the roll looked like it had been steamed and fried (initially looking like a doughnut without the sugar), the egg was semi-hard (just how I like it) and the bacon was just crispy enough. on taking a bite, the bread melted in the mouth, the egg being semi-hard dripped out of the roll, the more I ate the more the filling dropped out of the bottom requiring me to use the napkin to hold the roll and the contents. It has been a long while since I have had a breakfast roll so tasty and mouth-watering. even a toddler having a tantrum over a chair wasn't going to distract me. Finding a gluten-free breakfast roll is a rare find, finding it in a cafe tucked away in a park is even rarer.

We were in Peasholm Park Cafe waiting in line to buy ice cream around 1.30 on Thurs and there were 4 people in front of us and an announcement was made to say the park was closing to prepare for the Naval Battle the young lad served the people infront of us and then another serving lady came over and told him not to serve anymore people. We had been stood in the line for 15 mins and they would not serve us and was extremely rude to us.why not use commonsense and close the cafe door at 1:30 put a member of staff on the door to explain why it's shut and that it reopens at 2pm and then just serve the people who are waiting in line inside that is a much fairer way and saves confrontation. I was not leaving that cafe without an ice cream seeing that I was in the line to be served before the closing announcement was made, I was there with my family to enjoy a day in the park and didn't want to argue about ice creams and try and explain a fairer way to close the cafe ,i did get my ice creams and eventually served by a moody sulky staff member.

I have never seen such blatant racism in my life. This is 2024. People of colour and like minded people walking into this Jim Crow, antiquated backwards establish please be aware. To put a note not to offend is outrageous. We should be all tolerate of each others differences. Obviously a person who's not well versed and travelled. How can society move on when we have people who think that it's reasonable to offend people who are just enjoying their vacation. White privileges allows one to laugh, turn a blind eye or to offer a rationale for their inherent racism. Being White I can only apologise and say that the majority of educated White people just want to live in peace and unity. Should be ashamed. Schools visits! How do teachers explain gollywogs in todays society as being acceptable.
