Paya Cuisine in Epsom and Ewell

We ordered a takeaway on Uber Eats. The prawn satay was covered in batter to disguise a lack of prawns. The battery was soggy. The menu said that satay sauce was excluded, so I paid £2.50 only to receive extra sauce as it was included. The egg fried rice was tasteless and stoggy. Please don't waste your money.

It had amazing food. The noodles were so good and there was the right amount of spice and flavours there. The seafood in the noodles just went so well with it and was warm to eat when given and great services too. Definitely recommend this ! The sticky coconut rice was my favourite dessert and it sweet and milky and was so nice to eat .

I would rate the food as a clear 0! We ordered many items from their selection via the Deliveroo Delivery Menu and most were horrible! The remaining few were not good! That means bad. The Chicken with Cashews was stale, especially the chicken which tasted of old smelly socks. Gross! The Crispy Wontons were flat! And NOT crispy! And lacking in a flavour! Yuck! The Wonton Soup was filled with something we couldn’t identify which was very overpowering! Not proper Wonton Soup! Icky! The Sui Mai mixed dish contained a few pieces of what can only be described as…non-describable morsels! Yuck! The Sweet Sour Chicken was vile and tasted of vinegar! Yuck! The Quarter Aromatic Duck was hard and dry! Yuck! The Egg Fried Rice was extremely very bland! The Sweet Sour Sauce was…ok. But very thin.

This is the second time I have been to the Paya Ewell and I can't recommend it enough. The food is delicious and everyone I have spoken to was so friendly. Fast service and great prices, will definitely be coming back!!! Thank you so much ❤️❤️

First time today. i ordered food when doing an international business meeting. Perfect place to do multi million pound deals over good food.

Delivery 1st time trying. Absolutely amazing The food was brilliant. The husband said he thought his green Thai curry could have had a bit more spice. I have the honk kong style chicken plain noodles and egg fried rice. Husband a lot more adventurous. But this was amazingly well cooked. So tasty. Delivery was fast. We went direct to restyrant as opposed to using one of the many Delivery adverts. A word of caution the protion sizes are massive. Wenordered for 2 but definitely had enough for at least 4 people. The duck was plentiful as well. This was our first time using, following a recommendation, as our "normal" chinese awaits a hygiene rating. I believe Paya will be our new chinese..genuinely great food and service

Never really was a fan of Chinese food until I came across PAYA EWELL. Honestly hands down the best Chinese food I have ever tried, definitely worth it! Staff and everyone was very friendly and delivered top quality customer service. Highly recommend.Thanks

I ordered via Uber Eats, just some chicken balls, chilli beef and plain noodles.The first order somehow got lost after 50 minutes waiting. So I clicked request update button, waited another 50 minutes, and stare at my screen as it says "Your order is on its way". So hungry and excited for my food...suddenly my screen refreshes, and my heart leaps. Is the delivery man outside? No. The restaurant has cancelled, after leaving me waiting for over an hour and a half. The sad thing is, I know the food is good. That's why I bothered with them. But this isn't the first time this has happened. Sadly, it's got to be the last. I'm not going to bother with this restaurant again. Goodbye Paya Ewell, you've been disappointing.

Forget reading about those stupid one star review of late deliveries and ready made sauce , this is by far the best takeaway Ive ever eaten in London , their massaman curry was so rich and creamy, the chicken satay cooked to perfection and the pad thai was a perfect harmony of the land and sea combined. Their drivers are courteous and deserves only the most generous tip.

We had a takeaway on Christmas Day! We had ordered food worth £65 out of which only prawn crackers a half of the rice with 1 spoon of Thai Green Curry was consumed. Everything was cooked in a readymade low standard sauce and was so sweet that we could not eat even quarter of the meal.Complete waste of money.

Ordered via Uber Eats. Put a note on the order and phoned the restaurant to ensure food would be free from shellfish as our daughter is anaphylactic. Food arrived after almost 2 hours alongside a bag of prawn crackers.Restaurant admitted their fault and apologised offering a 10% discount. Not the point as we wouldn't order from there ever again unless we actually had a death wish.

I appreciate it’s a Saturday evening and you may be busy, but a 2 and a half hour wait (as of currently so be longer by the time our delivery actually comes) is a joke!! Will not be ordering from you again unless I pre order a week before.

Received a delivery from this Chinese began to eat the food and my partner pulled out a long (20ish cm) hair from her mouth. I contacted the restaurant and they were in complete Denial as well as changing their story a few times.

Delivery on time but food awful. Some dishes too salty making food inedible. Other dishes far too sweet. Thai curry tasted of sugar! Only 2 bamboo shoots in the curry. Will never order again.

After a long day trip I jumped on just eat, it was the only Chinese that popped up, disappointed I could only order egg fried rice and not the chicken but hey ho, food arrived, didn’t scream fresh and my chicken in yellow bean was coated in a batter which again I was disappointed as I already ordered another coated dish and just really wanted something fresh, after a few mouthfuls of either I actually felt queasy, I could only eat the rice, the bites were hard, sticky and tasted terrible, almost like brown sauce.. I spent £30 and feel robbed. I’ve never had an inedible Chinese until today and I’m struggling to get the horrid taste out my mouth.. that will teach me not to read the reviews first.. maybe their Thai is good but I’d never order again.

we made an order to collect today the 15th of July 2020 , the noodles dishes ( chicken chow mien and prawn chow mien) were alright ( eatable) but the chicken with yellow bean sauce wasn’t yellow bean sauce at all you can feel the difference and it tasted bad and burned , and the sweet and sour chicken was so bad that we couldn’t eat more than one bite , the duck dish was alright as well , but will never ever try it again it’s our first and last time .

Worst takeaway I have ever had. The food was inedible and ended up in the bin. All starters were dry, most likely cheap bagged frozen items. Excessive salt and sugar was used to mask lack of flavour. Squid was basically dry batter. Green Thai Chicken curry has scraps of translucent chicken and had no flavour apart from the taste of excessive sugar. Chicken satay was salty and dry. Please avoid at all costs. The chef should be sacked.

Ordered Thai dishes through Uber eats last night. It took nearly an hour and a half to be delivered but we knew that when we placed the order. The food was surprisingly good, freshly cooked and very tasty. The portion sizes were very generous. My only complaint is that the Thai starters of steamed fresh dim sum was very over priced at £9.25 for 6 pieces. So wouldn’t order those again.

Ordered food at 17:40 online it advised me would take up to 90 minutes to arrive proceeded with the order was charged £2 for the privilege of being delivered once ordered And paid for they then let you know it takes up to 2 hoursAfter two hours at19:42 I rang up to find out where my food was I got told by the operator it was on its way They basically lied completely to me on the phone because I normally pick my food up and it takes five minutes to drive to the takeaway allowing for traffic as well my food finally turned up at 20:00 when I rang back to complain about being lied to the operator put the phone down on meI spend in the region of £300 a month at this place obviously I’m not going to anymore

Ordered food at 6.30, it is now 9.10 and still no sign of the food. Family of four with two hungry, tired kids and £40 spent...this was meant to be our weekend treat. Do not order from here....avoid at all costs!!

In order to support this business I did order some dishes rather than ordering to my local Thai.The restaurant is only 8 minutes away from my house but after 2h45 mins waiting, I contacted Uber eats and tried with the restaurant itself, no replyReally poor service. If they can’t offer delivery, don’t offer it !

I called an hour after ordering and they said it would still be half an hour but I was not notified that there would be this delay

The food is simply awful. My stir fry sauce was like water. Thai green curry tasted like off milkshake. Chicken pieces water injected. Soft shell crab was obviously frozen the batter was like concrete and it was obviously cooked from frozen and just tasted weird. The ribs were disgusting I had to spit out my first mouthful. Everything served on soggy iceberg lettuce. My stir fry had huge onion quarters in it and stewed carrots and that was it. How can this place be in business? Rank. The worst take away I have ever had we binned 90% of it.

Want to start by saying how shocked I am seeing these other reviews. Our experience simply could not be faulted.. fast delivery, piping hot, and really delicious Chinese! We had the beef pak Choi- the veg was nice and crunchy and beef was tender and the sauce really flavourful and then the chicken in Blackbean sauce, and same again; tender chicken and delicious sauce.. throw in steamed buns and pork balls and we enjoyed a feast!! 10/10!

Let me start by saying this is genuinely the worst Chinese take away I think I have ever eaten and also the MOST EXPENSIVE chinese take away I’ve ever had, which went in the bin after eating a small plate! I’m shocked that they are allowed to charge this price per dish for such disgusting food. The sweet and sour chicken balls were as dry as anything, the rice was literally plain boiled rice with chunks off lettuce, carrots and chunks of tough beef that looked anaemic! The noodles were dry and tasteless. They got our order wrong by putting beef in a vegetarian dish so one member of our party had to wait for her dish to be delivered again correctly, which did and tasted awful. They offered nothing free or a refund of any dishes! Chicken was also rubbery and tasteless. You get the message, avoid this place at all costs!

We ordered several dishes including chicken balls, pad Thai, satay chicken, Singapore rice & Singapore noodles. It is very expensive and although the mains were okay the satay chicken was very dry and over-cooked. The accompanying peanut sauce was cold and clearly was intended to be served cold as all other sauces were at least warm.Overall no more than average sadly.

I don’t know where these other people have been ordering food from because this place is amazing.It’s the first time I’ve ever ordered from there and it’ll be the only Chinese/Thai that I’ll be using from now.The food is cooked perfectly and they clearly use fresh ingredients, the portion sizes are huge and 90% meat over veg.I ordered in house rather than delivery so I can’t comment on how quick they would be delivering but I was only in store for ten minutes and my whole order was ready, they gave me a complimentary bottle of drink for no reason other than the fact they are amazing.Also the value for money is insane I got three mains one side and two starters for under 40 pound that could easily feed 5 maybe even 6.10/10 would recommend and will be recommending!

The food was the worst food I've had in a while. It's worse than most of the bad take-away food I've eaten, as it tastes odd and is so badly cooked. Can't believe they charge so much for inedible food. Outrageous. Coconut Rice: How can you get this so wrong. Sickly sweet, sticky and like eating sugar. Could not taste the curry I put with this. Noodles - Pad Kee Mao Beef: This was so sour we could not even eat it. It had a lot of Holy Basil in, plus the lime, meant it was so unbalanced. Oddest taste. Alas, we ordered 2 :( This was the worst dish.Soft Shell Crab: I'm not even sure it was crab. I had to pull it apart to check. It was rubbery and a bit weird tasting. The onions, peppers and chillies were the nicest bit, but I felt a bit 'grossed out' at the crab itself. Wish I had not chosen.Gang Dang Red Thai Curry Beef: Sour and Watery. The beef was sort of ok. But not enough decent flavour to be able to eat this. A jar of curry paste from Sainsburys is far better. I wish photos cold convey how weird this food tasted.We ordered on Just Eat, which states you must contact the restaurant if a problem with the food. I called and spoke to John, as the manager was not there. I explained how each dish was inedible and that their chef could not cook. He said he could not collect the food to check it. He also said he could not give me a refund. He said, "that's what coconut rice is like", "that's how we cook it". I've eaten at pretty average Thai and Chinese restaurants before in UK and no matter how bad they are, they're not as inedible as this. I've been to Thailand and coconut rice is not sickly sweet and over bearing. I ordered a lot as i was hungry and wanted some left overs. Now I'm so annoyed I didn't read Trip Adviser as everyone on Just Eat and Google don't seem to know what they're saying, by giving this place good reviews.Seems there are a LOT of recent BAD reviews. THIS PLACE SHOULD NOT BE ON JUST EAT. IT SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN.DO NOT BUY. EVEN KFC IS BETTER.

I made the mistake of ordering from Paya based on offering quick delivery via Uber eats. I really wish I'd have looked at the reviews before ordering.

The food was inedible. 80% of it went in the bin. Only the rice was ok to eat. Bad smell and flavour to most of the food. The crispy fried noodles were basically....dry uncooked noodles. The worse ever take-away experience.

My partner and I fancied a take away thai meal recently, and decided to support local shops, even though I have reviewed many many times on trip advisor, I didn’t take my own advice and check first!

Ordered takeaway on plus side arrived on time, that's the only positive. Peking duck mediocre at best given price and obviously previous review re fake chicken not taken on board as Thai green chicken curry was the worst ever...fake chicken, tasteless and runny sauce and could not face eating it. Ice cream had already been opened and some of it eaten...nice!

Ordered some food from here as the week before as it seemed rather tasty and it was open late. However after ordering this evening was bitterly disappointed. We were told that it was going to cost over £40 when making the initial order however when checking the amount found that it was under £35... Good job I checked not sure how anyone can miss-calculate that much. When the food arrived it was cold (all of it) rice was supposed to be Jasmine however It was like one big hard brick stuck together and tasted more like plain rice. I think overall, avoid ordering from here, unless you've had a few to drink its 1am and you really don't care what your eating....

Would leave no stars if that was an option. Used these guys on Just Eat loads (10+) used to be great... last time, not great, food late, food cold and tasteless. Thought let’s give another go, second chance. Same again, only worse. Late, cold, tasteless - wouldn’t give a refund - will NEVER use again. AVOID - look at the cucumber accompaniment to the duck main for two... JOKE

My daughter and I have been ill all night thanks PAYA OMG I will tell everyone I know and care for never eat your food.

Chicken Thai green curry... if you can call that chicken I’m a Purple Unicorn. Disgusting to serve that. You could buy fresh chicken and still make a huge profit. We are quite worried how our constitutions will cope! With such competition and bad reviews, you should really have a rethink!

Without doubt the worst meal I have experienced in years. I suspect that the ‘chicken’ had not been running around since Noah was a lad, completely tasteless with all the texture of leather. Yuk!

AWFUL food & TERRIBLE manager Had to send back the whole meal due to some very dubious chicken. If I could give no stars I would.

Ordered through Uber Eats (first time) and what a utter disappointment.

Thought we'd give Paya a try as were peckish and our normal Chinese is closed on Sunday afternoons. Ordered Duck, Chicken and Ribs- all too salty, too much MSG and dry. Noodles were a shocker too. To make things worse, they are pretty expensive to. Had 2 mouthfuls between us and £45 worth of Chinese went straight in the bin. Avoid at all costs-worst Chinese ever !

This is the second time I tried this food. Absolutely tasteless, under cooked and unappetising. Fried rice is sticky and tempura prawns and prawn toast is just covered in grease. I have also ordered Nasi Goreng, which was also the worst ever Nasi Goreng I ever had. Most of the food end up in the bin. I feel this food was cooked by someone who is not a professional chef. I would never ever use this place at all.

We’ve used Paya for Chinese and it’s been good. But we tried Thai takeaway tonight. It was disgusting! No thai flavours at all. Curry was sickly and sweet and some chicken not properly cooked. Vile! Avoid for Thai.

Paya is a chain, Chinese, Thai menu, Indian cooks and delivery staff ? Bizarre. Food quality was poor, the food, and staff seemed not to believe in Paya, they just work there, not the way you would if your name was over the door.

Ordered through Uber Eats today for the first time and having read the reviews I was not expecting it to be great, yet I figured I would give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised.

Literally the worst food. Ordered chicken satay- microwaved dry unseasoned chicken arrived without any sauce called to tell them they said “we will bring the sauce tomorrow” and put the phone down on us. Really weird.

Always get my Chinese from here. Had a few misses but mostly hits. Crispy chilli beef isn’t very crispy but v tasty. Chicken balls are by far the best with the most chicken I’ve seen. Always comes with in 20 mins even on the weekend!

Ordered home delivery through hungry house, although reviews there were good, food arrived disgusting. prawns and pineapple fried rice were awful. everything went to the bin.waste of money and big dissapointment

We used to order here at LEAST once a fortnight (>40 times in the last 18 months), double checked my emails from on JustEat/HH/Paya-cuisine directly. The last meal we ordered will be our last from here ever!!

Paya Ewell; tantamount to theft under false pretences!

Paya offer a good selection of food and it is nice, the only downside is that certain dishes (such as the steak/beef) often arrive cold.

Ordered take out now again from paya, the food is alway hot and very tasty, the last take away was a little bit of a let down, as it look awhile to be delivered and food was not quite it's normal good standard, but will order again in the future.

We have discovered this takeaway as our local keeps shutting. We like the food. It is expensive, however you do get large portions. 1 portion definitely enough for 2-3 people, which in a way is good, but no if you want a different dish each (cost).

Ordered a takeaway, arrived late and it was awful !!! £50.00 in the bin ! The rice was soggy and most of it was cold and lacked flavour.

My sister loves Thai but on this day their usual Thai take away spot was closed so we decided to try Paya. We collected. Pad Thai's with chicken and prawns and just chicken along with a range of other dishes were all very tasty. I personally preferred this Thai take away to the others we've had at my sisters' so would gladly order from them again if the opportunity arose.

I had to order delivered take out to the hotel due to work load and the delivery was 15 minutes early and the food red hot and packaged really well with fork and spoon provided.

I love chinese so thought I would order as they deliver. Had satay prawn and sweet and sour king prawn, both really dry, batter was horrible, ending up throwing it all away.

Disgusting customer service. The excuse for them not delivering within the hour and ten minutes originally quoted to us, is that they were busy. They then promised it to be with us in 10 minutes. They didn't deliver until another 25 minutes later. I will never use them again and advise that no one else does.
