Great staff, amazing views, nice range of beers. They continue to do a great job on the pier, we are so lucky to have it. It's a treasure that has been beautifully maintained.

Good location for an afternoon drink but the beer and attitude of staff was very poor. Ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and a pint of draught beer. Wine ok but the beer was cloudy when poured and did not clear as expected and tasted bad. After trying it I returned to the bar to complain. Puzzled look and they went to check the barrel. Returned saying they had changed it and after having drawn numerous wasted pints gave me a fresh glass. Still looked cloudy but attitude of senior barman was that it is ok and will clear. Take it or leave it. After 30 minutes it was still cloudy and still did not taste right. Couldn’t finish it. They were closing so took it back to the bar and pointed this out. No apologies and senior barman acted unconcerned. Probably wrongly assumed we were day trippers. Left the place and unlikely to return.

My wife and I called into the Pavilion Bar as it also served coffee and we were both desperate for a break after our walk along the coastal path. You are allowed to take dogs into the seating area. The seating area was really nice with comfy settees and tables and chairs. The staff were very friendly - great customer service. The Pavilion Bar is not a cafe in the true sense of the word and so it does not serve cakes or sandwiches or if it does they were not on display. The coffee was perfect and we sat and watched the world go by, in fact I could have sat there all day given the chance. There are toilets available, which are very well maintained. In summary if I lived in the area I would certainly visit the Pavilion Bar for a coffee on most days - such a lovely relaxing environment.

We visited here everyday of our long weekend and enjoyed the bar very much. The staff are really friendly, there is plenty of seating inside and out and is dog friendly. The toilets are spotless and free sanitary items were provided free of charge. A nice thoughtful touch. Sunday (today) was the best. It was glorious sitting outside in the sun drinking a Norfolk gin looking at the sea and people watching along with their wonderful dogs.

I have visited the bar on five occasions now and none of them whilst a show was on. On average you could find ten or fifteen people sitting at tables, so not really busy. Now before I start I will say that it is no way any fault of the lady behind the bar. However, sitting at a table were management with a laptop discussing how to effectively sell and keep track of stock. I arrived at 11:45 am and waited at the bar together with about six or seven people. The lady had an order for four coffees. it took about fifteen minutes!!! Next person?? Two flat whites please? another ten to fifteen minutes. To cut a long story short I gave up waiting at the bar and decided to sit at a table, I watched and waited till the rush and crush of six people got their orders of drinks only. Whilst watching I noted one couple had given the bar lady a really hard time and told her exactly what they thought for the thirty minute wait and decided to go to a pub off the pier. One of the people (management) got up and helped themselves to drinks. I asked if there was anyone else to help at the bar? Reply? NO, we had a delivery earlier this morning! I watched about six people huff and puff as they walked out the bar because if the wait. I got my G&T; at???????? 12:45!!! That's an hour!!!! A single G&T; = £8.00!! As I walked past I mentioned all this to "The management" sitting at the table. I suggested that maybe it would have been a good idea that maybe one of them could have got up and helped with the eight people standing at the bar for over forty minutes? Reply? The delivery story and they only had one person on duty.

Got to the pier early for a drink before the show - the counter was covered in glasses as they were ‘clearing the shelves’. Service was exceedingly slow and even though it was early there was a queue building. I mentioned this politely to a female bar attendant who was struggling to tear open coffee packets with her fingers and then standing watching the coffee drip onto the jugs, then had a coffee herself still no attempt to serve anyone on the growing queue; 10 minutes and still the first customer not served. Latte machine not in use - choice of drinks - standard soft drinks not available!

This bar does not advertise a closing time and seems to make them up as they go along. On two occasions this week, during Cromer Carnival week, which we suspect is one of the busiest weeks in the year for Cromer, we attempted to visit after watching the sunset on the pier to purchase hot drinks for ourselves and our well behaved children. The first time, at approximately 8.45pm, despite the bar area being full of people drinking almost full drinks we were told the tills had already been closed. Although disappointed, we could understand why we could not be served. A couple of nights later, after walking along the prom we decided to try again, but 15 minutes earlier. Upon arrival we watched a customer be served with alcoholic drinks, only to then be told that "those are to be the last customers tonight". We were shocked, and the children were openly disappointed, as once again the door had been open, and the bar was quite full. We reminded the barman that he had already turned us away once this week and that we had just seen him serve another customer. He did not seem interested at all in helping us, instead mumbling something about coming earlier next time. He said he did not want to get in trouble with the manager, and that he was just doing what he was told. We did initially ask to speak with the manager, but upon reflection this did not seem to be worthwhile, particularly if he was following instructions he had been given. It is such a shame that this beautifully positioned bar does not seem to consider the needs of holidaying families or truly make the most of the commercial opportunity their location provides. We would have visited more than once this week, and again and again every year we are in Cromer, but somewhere else will now have our custom.

Popped into the bar after a nice afternoon walk, thinking an evening tipple would be a nice finish to a glorious day in cromer... I was wrong... paying for my drink, a cider, which firstly I was hoping it was the somersby from previous years, but was actually kopperberg or some sort which I could of brought from the corner shop for a couple of quid, not nearly 5!!! The majority of the staff were rude and didn't even make eye contact with me. They sounded bored, or were whispering to each other in the corner rather than serving costumers. No ice offered and my drink was served in a plain pint glass more suited for a lager than a supposed 'local cider'. Such a shame as last year the staff were lovely and drinks were fine. This year the staff have really let this place down... would suggest more customer service training in the future!

Called in the Pavilion bar for coffee and cake there was an offer on of coffee & cake @ £3.95 per person so fairly good pricing but we didn't realise this would be a half hearted attempt at coffee. Two black decaf coffees, simple one would have thought but we were presented with an average size cup with about an inch of coffee in it, we were offered it to be topped up but told that would make it weaker, some choice a decent mouthful of coffee or a cup of what amounted to coloured tasteless water. Cakes average coffee atrocious. Lovely setting & views with indoor and outdoor seating but that wouldn't be enough to encourage a return for food/drinks.

Got seated immediately which was great, that’s kind of where it ends! Waited at bar to place order for too long and although drinks came straight away they were drank up way before any sign of food. Had to chase food due to long wait times just for three light bite plates! When arrived I was so disappointed with size of portions which is a shame as cod bites and chips were very nice just a very poor portion as plates used are just too small, so not good value at £8.60. We felt absolutely ripped off, 25.40 for two drinks, plate of chips, light bite cod bites n chips and light bite sausage n chips! Would not return or recommended and was still hungry!

Wow what a find. the best place to eat for miles around if you have dogs with you as it is very dog friendly. We went for Sunday lunch and sat out on the covered terrace next to the lovely garden. There was a choice of 4 roast meats and a vegetarian option. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The cost was also very reasonable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere.

Have popped in occasionally and had the most delicious pie and gravy. Was in the area Saturday and thought a lovely pie and gravy will go down a treat on such a cold day. Saturday luch time, no pies on the menu, just a very basic baguette, omlette, baked potato menu, really disappointed. Should have guessed, very sparse of dinners. Ordered the egg baguette, to be told a minute later 'we can't get hold of any eggs'. So all the omlettes were unavailable too. I've just been to a farmers market down the road that's full of eggs and pies! Cheese baguette ok, very cheap colesaw on side( sorry being really picky now). It has changed hands and don't believe the menu online, we won't be going back.

On a recent trip on the Norfolk Broads, we happened upon The Dog and had some lunch. Nice welcome and really good food! The Dog Menu was a particularly nice touch, bought some treats for the pooch, which she loved. The food was so good that on our last day, on the way back to the boatyard, we did a little detour and returned for another meal. Highly recommend, will definitely return! Thank you.
