Very disappointed. Second time in a row that the oil on the fish batter tastes like it should have been changed. The actual fish tasted lovely. Sadly the lady fryer can only be described as ignorant in the way she talks to people and clearly needs to go on a customer service course. I felt sorry for the two young girls who were working for her too, she just doesn't know how to speak to people politely! It looks like the Barracuda from now on.

First time getting from here and got to say it was fantastic.

Came here for the first time tonight after reading reviews on it. I cannot fault the food it was absolutely lovely. The only downside was that I asked for a large special (large fish and chips) and the fish wasnt quite as large as what I was expecting and we didn't get the chips. However we did have sausage and chips and an extra portion of chips so we managed. We will return though

Member of family is homebound so to get fish and chips delivered is a godsend. This is the 4th emergency service.

Phoned through to place an order for delivery which is a brilliant idea for a chippy ,it was busy, due I think to it being national fish and chip day,delivery was bang on time,and beautiful fish and chips,will definitely use again👍

I had been to look at some abandoned trains and thought that I would call for fish and chips. The shop was about to close but the nice lady cooked us a fish. We sat outside on in the sun. The fish and chips were lovely, will definitely call about if I am in the local area.

Tried Fish and Chips from Park Square Fisheries for the first time and can honestly say they were the best fish and chips I’ve had for ages. The fish was light and moist with crispy batter. The chips were excellent with no grease at all. Great value for money.

We used to go to park Square every Thursday for our tea for quite some time. However, recently the food quality has really gone downhill. The batter on the fish is always soggy and sticks to the paper. So, I decided to ask for a well done fish to see if the batter would be crispier, sadly it wasn't. Instead the fish was bone dry and the batter still soggy. Such a shame as we used to enjoy the food, won't be ordering from here again.

Called last week,never been to this chippe before.Very fussy about the quality of food When buying fish and chips as poor ones are not worth eating.Only usually go to ones I know but pushed for time on this evening.On entering the premises I thought It Looked well decorated and very clean.A very pleasant member of staff asked me for my ordered and explained the fish is always cooked to order. This is the best takeaway fish shop we have ever used. I am not a big fish and chip fan but these fish and chips are special. When we have friends around for tea ( from all around Yorkshire) they really look forward to their special treat. We have used the delivery service a few times which is the icing on the cake... well done Park Square.

Rang to order a delivery at 7.15pm was told by the lady who answered phone you have left it a bit late just hold the line, came back and said u will take your order this time but he will be working late now. Told her not to bother how rude. No cut off time stated for ordering delivery. Ordered after 7pm numerous times with no problems. Food good staff horrible won't order or go again

This is one of the oldest chippy in ossett, you have to state your order on arrival as all food is cooked to order, on my recent visit one of the counter staff was giving another a right telling off in front of all waiting customers, I was embarrassed to be there, and I felt horrible and sad for the woman that was getting told off, ( I would have told here where to stick her job. Parking is limited as it's on a narrow residential street, all that said the fish are chips are lovely.

Apart from the great fish and chips, one of the best things about this place is the lovely garden at the rear with picnic tables and parasols. So if you want to tuck in to your takeaway straight away you can. There are also two tables at the front of the premises. The shop has been recently refurbished with extra frying space and a new counter so good news all round. I had a small portion of fish and chips, which would be a large one anywhere else. Unbeatable value and quality, and always fresh and appetising.

One of the best fish and shops in Wakefield and they serve real Yorkshire fish cakes, (made with sliced potato and fish). Prices are reasonable and it is very welcoming establishment.

Visited the venue last night, bought Fish, Chips and Peas. Food was absolutely gorgeous, the staff warm and welcoming. Looking forward to my next visit.

There is so much competition in the Ossett area for fish and chip shops and yet park square is constantly busy. Furthermore, they are able to keep up an outstanding quality of fish and chips, with generous portion sizes and tasty fish cooked to order.

Nuestra segunda visita fue un miércoles a mediodía y nos pareció fácil aparcar en el patio delantero, también podría utilizar la calle. Yo opté por la regular de pescado y una porción más pequeña de patatas fritas, lo que sería una gran porción regular o en otro lugar. Mi compañero tenía el tamaño normal y a ambos nos pareció fabuloso, los peces grandes trozos de abadejo con una empanada jugosa preciosa luz. Las patatas fritas eran tan buenos como se puede llegar a cualquier lugar, una luz dorada marrón y caliente y sabrosa. Una taza de té de completar la comida. Esto sólo va de chippy fuerza a fuerza y pronto se abre los martes por lo que es una buena noticia si viven cerca.

Gran relación calidad-precio las porciones son enormes y también entrega. Todo fresco. Así que la comida se sirve caliente pipping

Llamamos aquí para ver lo que hay pescado y patatas fritas eran como. Después de haber estado en muchos otros a lo largo de los años. Nos gustó originalmente pero cerrado lane cruz debido a la falta de clientes tras una caída en el comercio después de la noche de hoguera fuegos artificiales fracasó en Parque de Wakefield. No nos decepcionó. Allí recién preparado que lleva tiempo esperando un poco, pero vale la pena. Tienen un pequeño y regular el tamaño de las porciones que se adapta a las personas con un menor apetito o presupuesto. El personal es muy amable y hay mesas al aire libre. Tienen un servicio de entrega, pero he escuchado de esto.

We usually order our fish and chips from here now as they offer free delivery to our area. There is normally a wait for food, but it always arrives within an hour even when they are really busy. We last ordered from here last Friday and, as usual, the food was great. It arrived hot and the fish and chips are of good quality. The fish has large flakes and the chips and the fish batter are not greasy as you sometimes get with fish and chips of lower quality. I normally have the fish butty with a regular fish which I find is plenty to fill me up. My wife normally has the mushy peas too and she says they are yummy! Thoroughly recommend this great little takeaway, especially if you want your fish and chips delivered right to your doorstep.

Everything about this chippy is quality. The portions are massive and the fish battered to perfection. Unlike some other chip shops, they don't buy in ready cut chips but cut their own on the premises which really does make a difference to the taste. All the fish is cooked to order so it's very fresh, they don't store it in heated cabinets and they also serve home made fish cakes. I've not tried the delivery service but that would be very good if you wanted to have friends round for a meal. There's a seating area at the front of the shop so if you can't wait you can always eat your fish supper on the premises.

We had family over and decided to try park square fishers for take away. We received excellent cooked food from spam fritter, fish and chips to children's meals . Can't recommend enough.

We called in the Park square fisheries for a fish supper, our Order taken the fish was freshly cooked to perfection the batter was nice and crisp. They offer small or regular size portions same with the chips, they also offer a children menu for £2.25 which would be of great value. A free delivery to Ossett and Horbury with a minimum spend of £5 order, staff were very helpful and obliging. a small parking area to the front.The opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday 1130 to 1.30 Wednesday to Friday 4.30 to 8.00 and Saturday 4.30 to 7.00Well done

After reading reviews thought I would give them a try last Saturday evening. Seemed right after visiting the deep in Hull with a 5 year and 7 year old. The greeting was good. The service a little slow but still ok. Fish and chips not bad but not the best we have had. All in all ok.

I've been here a few times and just love the fish and chips ... A regular portion is enormous gorgeous chips ... Fish cooked freshly- just brilliant! The staff are really helpful & friendly, keep up the good work.

Much better Fish and Chip shops locally hence why I only tried this place the once. Service was good but the food was nothing to write home about and the portions were tiny.

I ate here for the first time recently and although you have to wait for fish to be cooked it's worth it. Portions much bigger than barracuda.

My prefered fish and chips in the Ossett area. Always good portions, always fresh and always nice. The only draw back is the wait as they usually cook the fish to order but at least that means it's fresh.

Drove pass here a few times always looked busy but never stopped. but i was hungry one day so i stopped I had fish chips and mushy peas and they was hot not greasy was lovely the staff was friendly so I will use again if im in the area.

The owners told me today is our quietest day,if had been Friday. you may have to wait .I ordered a small fish in a tea cake to eat outside. Really great value for money, sticking more with traditional fish and chips than some others. You sometimes have to wait if there are a lot of delivery orders but never too long. Just remember to shout up if you want something special.

We visited here today for lunch and these were the best fish and chips I've had in years. The shop is really clean, the staff were really kind and friendly. They fry the fish while you wait and there are chairs outside if the weather is good. The food is excellent value for money and a regular portion is huge !!! Small for us next time !! This is a hidden gem.

I came to ossett on September and feel soo luck to have this little place at the bottom of my road. The only thing I can say is they needs to be open more!

When you can catch them when they are open, I would thoroughly recommend trying out Park square Fisheries! All cooked to perfection by someone who has ben doing this for years with a passion. Just check when they are open!

A wet November lunchtime isn't the best time to be out and about but the welcome at Park Square Fisheries in Ossett was warm and welcoming. Not knowing how massive the portions were, we ordered two large haddock and chips and watched as they were freshly cooked for us. The batter was light, crispy and tasty, while the fish was thick, white and tender. As for the chips, there seemed to be double the amount you would get elsewhere. They were delicious. Amazingly, this cost just £5 each but if your appetite isn't as large, you can get a smaller portion (which is the equivalent to a large portion in most other chippys) for £3. Also on offer were sausages, fishcakes, pies, chicken nuggets, soft drinks and coffee/hot chocolate and tea. If you live locally, which unfortunately we don't, you can ring through an order for free delivery within two miles if you spend £5. There is a nice seat inside so we sat there but If the weather had been better we could have sat outside in the front courtyard. We found out they were open four lunchtimes, that's Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and three evenings, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We'll definitely be making a return visit.

Been searching for a new fish and chip shop for a while following a house move but the long wait is over. These aren't just the best I have had in Wakefield - they are the best I have had for years. The fish is chunky and delicious, the batter is light and crispy and the chips are spot on. The only thing I would say is you get too many of them! I did have to wait a bit - the shop was full and the fish is cooked to order. But it was well worth it and I did notice while I was in the shop they offer a home delivery service too. Well impressed. Now need to find that curry house....

I did a glowing review for park square fisheries but somehow posted it to queens drive fisheries. All I can say is I must have been that excited thinking about my scrumptious fish and chips it sent me lightheaded. So just to clarify, park square fisheries is the best fish and chips in ossett.

Discovered this place a couple of years ago owing to the dearth of decent fish and chips where I lived. Been back several times since and every time the service, the food, the portion size and price are spot on. They fuss over my little girl- giving her sweeties- and she loves them for it! Can't fault it really!
