Papadom in West Berkshire

Ordered a takeaway last night on friend’s recommendation. Collected as had read that deliveries often arrive cold. Food was all a bit meh! Korma was more oil than sauce. Tikka masala was overly sweet. Veggie bhuna was packed full of potatoes to the detriment of all other ingredients and there was not really any difference in taste to the Bombay potato. The madras was packed with heat to cover up the fact that it was mostly oil and no flavour whatsoever. Keema naan was actually really nice but the plain naans were stiffer than cardboard and completely dry and inedible. Won’t be going back. Used to use Bengal Spice as it was by far the best in Thatcham but that went down hill after changing ownership. However, even their sub-par food is better than this place.

One of the naans was burnt. For £4.50, I would expect better quality—wouldn’t you? Please check the food before packing next time.

The food was tasteless. No garlic in garlic naan and the same meat pieces used in the rice and curry both the items. The food was blended and I will not recommended to anyone.

Food is good , but the last three orders have been incomplete and late , please if you state a delivery time stick to it as if I had known it was going to be another 20 minutes on top I would have ordered or picked up elsewhere.

I'm not sure why this is so poorly rated. Maybe it's a delivery thing. I always collect and the food is tasty and fresh. They will cook dishes not on the menu if you ask. Friendly staff. My go to in Thatcham for curry.

Absolutely delicious food! I’ve been getting my Indian takeaways (my favourite) from here for a very long time & we are never disappointed! Staff are always friendly from phone order to delivery! The food from this place is always great.

The food arrived all leaking and squashed.

The delivery was late by 30 mins the. The delivery driver was lost right outside my house. On top of the that the food was lukewarm at best and all fallen over inside the bag so all poppadoms were broken, curry spilt and bread soaked in grease. Won’t be ordering from there again any time soon.

Food took over 1 hour to arrive after ordering. Was stone cold, all 3 nan breads were burnt and stale couldn't actually bite them. Called restaurant didn't want to know or help. The yoghurt dip tasted of chemicals. Gutting as previously ordered and it has been lovely. Total waste of £55.

Food was marked delivered at 18:55 but was not actually here - then called up the restaurant and person on the phone was rude when I questioned about them lying about delivery - food didn’t arrive till 19:20 and was cold. Not happy

very vague with delivery times when I called the restaurant because it was late. Good banter with driver but that's because food was late and trying to salvage at the end. food was OK.

food was not pleasant at all. bones in chicken chat, puree was too thick and under cooked so rubbery to eat. not impressed.

Unfortunately the food received was below standard and had to be thrown away. All food was cold and uncooked, rice wasn’t fresh , naan breads were rock solid. Phoned the takeaway directly explaining the situation, took my number and said would get back to me, no response despite me calling again. It’s clear the food was from the previous day and poor standard.

Bad communication. Was nearly 2 hours late. Rude when phoned to find out what was happening and part of order was missing. No apology when we phoned although delivery driver did apologise

Over 2 and a half hours for delivery. Food was decent (if only warm) when delivered and order was slightly wrong. Guess it was a busy night??

Ordered at 5.45pm received at 7.55pm and had to heat up in the oven

They marked the food as delivered and didn’t turn up till 35 minutes after “delivery” and didn’t even apologise for the late delivery. Not happy they lied we have cctv to prove they didn’t turn up till 35 minutes later.

Order was 20 minutes late, and gave them over hour notice. Arrived cold. Missing item from the order - the manager who I was passed too on the phone, was extremely rude and accusing me of lying about the item not arriving. The driver was lovely, and can’t fault him at all when returned with the item (which was thankfully quick). Will never be using them again and they’ve lost our custom. It’s a shame as the actual food was tasty. Do not recommend and definitely worth going to other local Indian takeaways !!!

Great food. We ordered Bengal fish which was amazing and a chicken madras which was very spicy but incredibly tasty. We shared a coconut rice and peshwari naan which was also fantastic. Delivery was very fast (to Thatcham) and we always use them.

Veg biriani was very spicy which was disappointing as hotter than usual. Garlic naan was hard- obviously been microwaved. Other than that it was OK. Not as good as before.
