tired to order online today, money taken, no food, no answer on phone. Have used many times before first issue

WARNING! NO FOOD AND NO BLOODY ANSWER FROM THE RESTAURANT. BEEN WAITING FOR 1HOUR 40MINS AND STILL WAITING!

Ordered through JustEat App. Said store was using own delivery. Food arrived over an hour after we received a notification saying it had been delivered. Store didn’t pick up the phone (we tried on multiple phones over the span of 30 minutes) We decided to cook our own dinner and half way through it arrived cold with no apology or acknowledgement from the driver.

Awful waited an hour for our takeaway to come ,when it finally came they didn’t send me the right thing and seemed to be extremely oily

They sent the entirely incorrect order to me and I phoned to explain the issue and they blamed their driver. They refused to replace the food and told me it’s not their problem. The entire order was wrong and contained meat and I do not eat meat!!! The guy on the phone shouting down the phone- never order from here!!!

Absolutely disgusted with the service here. I ordered off just eat yesterday and when my order never came although I had a notification saying it been set out for delivery I spoke to the restaurant which they said it had been missed somehow even and they were happy to refund My order was cancelled through just eat and no money was taken out my account the next day when the owner was in I had been sent the food that I'd ordered the previous day and had money taken out my account. Although I told the delivery driver this and spoke to the owner on the phone the owner wanted to take no accountability has not given me a refund he swore at me and was very hostile and abusive towards me down the phone because I told him that I wanted a refund for foods that never arrived, I still haven't got the refund and they wont answer the phone after the owner has given me loads of verbal abuse and swore at me many times down the phone,This restaurant is appalling If this is the man that runs the business, God knows what else they do there!!

3rd time ordering takeaway from here. Probably the worst in thatcham and newbury. Lamb madras was like lamb stew, every peice of lamb had chunks of fat. The gravy was bland and watery and minimal in flavour. I'm english but can definitely make a better base gravy and produce flavour and quality over this. Poppadoms were stale, garlic chilli chicken was no where near what it should be. To much food colouring and no garlic. By this review I challenge the chef to a BIR lamb madras, fingers crossed everyone gets a better experience

Worst takeaway I have been to. Staff are unfriendly. Rather than resolve the issue, they were like I don't care." You can make a complaint." The problem I had was I went there and ordered some naan bread. They even did not even have an up-to-date menu, so I looked online for the menu and ordered. They charge more than what it was on line so when asked about it they said its changed and my reply was you need to update the menu online but they were just don't care if you want to complain go ahead. So inconsiderate and unhelpful. If I go there and order food, I am not going to on Just Eat's website and order it, will I? This was the only place where the price was correct.

We went to the shop to order curry it turned out to be very bland we didn't get the nans we ordered but potatoes something instead not that they told us and the pomodoms were bloody disgusting stale and broken

Placed order at 8.30 delivery made 9.45 food cold, been one of those days and cold diner just tops it off, no good!

Disgusting service ordered online and said 45 mins then 15 minutes more ok no problem it’s Saturday. An hour and 40 minutes later still no food. So I call politely and ask where it is to be told they are busy and put the phone down on me. Ring again no answer. Ring off my wife’s phone and they answer and I say I want to cancel as it is now 9.45 (an hour and a half ) and I have no dinner and I have no idea when they are delivering…. Guess what they put the phone down on me. I honestly can’t believe that companies like this are still around. We are all working hard and for most a takeaway is a treat. I will be going into the shop tomorrow for my refund.

Avoid this place The owner Faz is a fraud, he never pays his suppliers

I have had better indian takeaway but not awful. Good portion sizes. Came warm and they turnt up earlier than expected. However the overall taste of the food was OK. Definitely had a better one!

Ordered online, told food would be delivered in 45/50 minutes. 1hr 30 and food still not arrived. Telephoned and told it was on its way. Arrived after almost 2 hrs! Chicken in Korma definitely old and had been precooked , inedible. All food ordered very greasy and very poor quality. Spent £30 plus a delivery charge! Will definitely not be ordering from here again.

Half the food was cold and only 4 bits of chicken in the flavourless tikka masala. There are much better curry houses in newbury. Won’t order from here again.

usually my go to indian, gutted with tonight’s! No thickness to the dishes as they’re just full of water. No taste to it AT ALL.

Very disappointed. We order true Deliveroo some dishes we know very well. Chicken butter come with used chicken tikka. Saag lamb no meet at all. Cheese naan didn’t arrived instead I guess they give us potato what we didn’t order. Food absolutely terrible.

Absolutely awful will not order from here again this is where I’ve got my take aways for years now. I’ve waited two hours for a delivery it’s disgusting rang them they said it was on its way and still 25 minutes later still no sign rang them again the man was so rude and said “I don’t know I’m not telling you again it’s on its way stop asking” absolute disgusting manners I’ve never been spoken to like this by someone who’s meant to supply good food and have respect for their customers. Ordered a chicken madras from here it was vile and had a bad aftertaste and way too much spice and the rice was stone cold and so was the naan bread the only thing that was nice was the poppadoms very disappointing wont be ordering from here again the place should be closed down

Had lamb buna and asked for extra hot. The meat was tender and the spiciness just right. I don't normally like sauce but very impressed. The chapatis were good too. Felt rushed on phone which was a downer.

My friends and myself all had Food poisoning. I ended up in hospital and actually thought I was going to die. I have never ever been so ill. My temp hit 41, I felt so hot and cold and shivering . I couldn’t stop sweating, diarrhoea and vomiting every few minutes. Worst almost 2 weeks of my life.

Worst Indian takeaway I’ve had. I have always enjoyed a takeaway from Mr India until last night. 20 minutes after ordering I received a phone call saying they had no prawns or kings prawns left and asked if I wanted chicken in the dansak instead. I said no, and explained I’m pescatarian. They said they could make me a veg curry with peas and carrots instead as I don’t like cauliflower. I declined the option of a pea and carrot curry and ordered an additional side of Tarka daal. When the delivery person arrived about 30 minutes later she gave us the £2.20 difference in price. When opening the order we immediately noticed a rice was missing. We called me India and they were very apologetic and said a rice would be with us soon. I then tried the tarka daal and it was disgusting.The sparse salty lentils were in a cold salty yellow watery sauce. When I described the daal the man on the phone he said ‘sorry I know’ and said he could refund the daal. As it was so late by this point I asked if he could make a dansak without meat and put some potatoes in. He said no problem and it would be with us shortly. My partner started to eat his meal and the saag aloo, Bombay aloo and rice were cold . His chicken madras was really oily and he left most of it. When my order finally arrived I asked the delivery driver if we now had the full order and she said you can check but they are closed now. By now, the original food which had arrived cold was inedible and my partner had finished / left his dinner. Mr India had given us an extra portion of cold (room temperature) rice and oily onion bhajis with the second order. The dansak didn’t have any potatoes in and had a spoonful of the sauce with some stone cold sag aloo and left the rest. The whole experience yesterday was a disappointment. I’ve never phoned to complain about a takeaway before but last nights meal was absolutely terrible.

Straight in the bin... God knows how long it had been lying around before being re-heated and sent out. Should be ashamed.

I really enjoy your food but please don't send out cucumber raita like this! And make sure when menu says salad as well you put salad in the container. Thank you.

A lovely welcoming reception at the front desk and food was delicious, the prawn korma is how it should very creamy and coconutty.

Made an order online 30minutes before their 11pm closing time according to their website. Arrived at the restaurant at 10:45pm. Place in darkness accept a back light. Continuously Called shop landline and mobile number. No answer. Then a man appeared and said shop closed and this was 10:50pm. Shouted “we will get our money back tomorrow and come and collect food tomorrow”. Got a text from the mobile we called saying “who’s this?” Then another man appeared started shouting “shop is closed” “Chef gone home at 9:30pm” but shop sign says don’t close until 11pm everyday of the week and website let us make the Oder and took money. Man walks over to iPad and cancels the order. I receive a text saying order cancelled. Then they slammed the door in our face! Utter disgrace- didn’t want to give a 1 star but had no option!!!!

The takeaway was half portions and the saag pannier had 3 tiny bits of cheese in it. I have spoken to the manager and expect 20 pound off my next order. I will then update the review. Ruined my Saturday night.

So the first time I order was great then the second time I order the food was early but warm is but tonight on 26th March 2022 I had rung a few time just for an up date got told ten min ten mins passed so I rung up again and asked where my food was politely as I can be as I am Autistic and can get unsettled when stuff is late or does not go to plan which I told the lady who was unanswerable the phone that I am Autistic and she rudley advised that next time I should come in and order instead of via just eat. I mean due to my difficulty and my disability I would love to bring myself to your lovely establishment and sit down and order but where I have Autism I have need that need to be met so that's is why I order for 18 40 and not after and this is why I am giving a one star as I felt the level of service was not up to standard on how to speak to people weather they have a disability or not

Ordered a takeaway yesterday for the first time. Really cannot fault it, especially the Tandoori mixed grill, which was perfect in every way - I can't wait to go back and try many more dishes. The service was very friendly.

We used to order from here often but have not in a while, we did last night and sadly was very disappointed. Maybe they have a new chef I'm not sure but the food was very bland, with little or no spicing. Each of our dishes tasted exactly the same just different colours. Ended up having to add seasoning and chillies to make it enjoyable. On a positive the food did arrive quickly and was hot, however sadly I will not be ordering from here again.

This used to be great, but after the past couple of times I can't imagine going back there. We had several dishes, and all of them were so flavourless they were overpowered by the boiled rice. Probably the worst food I have eaten. Rubby naan and chewy poppadoms topped off this atrocity.

Having been told this place had improved, decided to give it a go. Items missing. Food was poor, all salt, no flavour. None of the meat actually marinated just coated. Won't be ordering again.

Tried mr India for the first time the other night. Food was on time however parts of it was cold, the poppadoms were stale as soft as opposed to crunchy. Pilau rice was stuck together in big balls and I have had food poisoning since I ate a prawn curry 🤢 I would NOT recommend.

We have had countless takeaways from Mr India, not so much through choice but through them being the only takeaway who delivers to us. It's always warm, always on time and generally very good on delivering what we ordered, there's been the odd mishap and they have been impeccable at putting it right. Tonight was fantastic, so thank you chaps

Nice food nice people didn't have to wait long. If I didn't live on Cardiff this would be be my go - to Indian. (yes I'm eating it with a teaspoon because I'm in a hotel room and this is all I have.). This has hit the spot and made my night 😊

Order arrived early. Food was average. We had an item missing - Pilau rice, which was to go with one of my groups curry. We had to make rice at home just so he can eat his meal. I tried to call the restaurant (both numbers on the card they gave us) several times. No one was answering, it rang out and then cut out. No option to leave a message and no way to claim via Just Eat either. Also I don’t think the food is good value for the money I paid. We had the tiniest two samosas for £2.95, which looked like it came from a frozen bag. We could’ve bought a big bag of frozen samosas of the same size for cheaper from a supermarket. I don’t think I’d be ordering from this place again. Disappointing experience :(

Normally I have had a good experience with Mr India 🇮🇳 but today no sorry. I had a malaya with prawns which was a good choice however be aware you will only receive 4 prawns and 4 pieces of pineapple!! For me that's not value for money and works out £2.00 per prawns ...really!!! treating customers (who btw have supported you through the pandemic) properly is key to keeping your business popular after the dust settles and not trying to rip them off... also to conclude the poppadoms came in a bag which was soaking wet and poppadoms were ineditlbe I dislike food waste ....such a shame 😠😡😢😥

Giving two stars because my mother-in-law loves it so clearly it has something to offer, but I refuse to eat here after several watery, sloppy, tasteless curries. It's got to be bad when I'd rather go without a takeaway than eat it.

Probably the worst Indian meal I’ve had. The chicken tikka masala was incredibly bland and the chicken horrendously overcooked. The rice was almost bathing in oil and I’m fairly certain they mixed up the naans because there was no filling or taste to them.

Ordered onion bhajis prawn madras pilau rice and garlic naan whilst staying in Chievely travelodge..bhajis were very oily and overcooked..madras had an unusual bitter taste to it;as if vinegar had been added ???..very watery sauce

VERY disappointing. Over charged, chicken tough, just one piece of potato in one potato dish, horrid after taste, popadoms limp & rubbery. Driver did not wear a mask & obviously thought 1 foot was 2 metres. Never again

Wonderful Efficient Indian Take Away!

Good portions and speedy collection however incredibly underwhelming food. Everything was bland and all tastes the same except for the madras which was really just spicy and not really flavourful..

Burnt chewy rice and the bombay aloo smelt and tasted like an Ash tray and made me sick. My son also asked me why it tasted so bad. Tikka masala and Onion bhaji tasted good though.

Had a nice meal last night but the order was a bit mixed up with stuff missing and different items included. Emailed them afterwards so they could sort out the problem for future customers but have had no response. Pity really as the first experience a couple of weeks back was good

Been ordering from Mr Indian for a few years now as hands down our favourite for a take away! Thought It was only fair to leave an honest review as we've never had a bad thing to say! Tonight's order was simply amazing. I can't recommend enough!

Do not order from here during COVID! delivery drivers and staff do not wear masks and sit inside the shop waiting for ordered talking whilst again no one wearing masks! I’ve witnessed this on multiple occasions. If they catch Covid they are then touching and delivering your food

Onion Bhajis were nuked beyond recognition, had £10 of random stuff we didn't order turn up (extra naan, extra rice, 2 extra bhajis, puppadoms etc...) the curries were ok-ish nothing special. We won't be using Mr India again.

Worst Indian takeaway I've ever had. The onion bhajis were hugely overlooked (couldn't get knife through them!) and didn't taste of anything, bhuna tasted like something i could have made from curry powder at home, karai was extremely fatty and too hot to eat, peas in matter paneer were hard and everything was far too salty. Ended up not eating much apart from rice, will not be going back and annoyed we wasted £30!!!

Ordered for a treat night, advised food being prepared and would be delivered in approx 1 hour. 2 hours and several calls to them later it finally arrived -cold! Wil go elsewhere next time

States halal but cannot 100% guarantee it. Don't understand how that works. Its either halal meat or not.

They forgot my vegetarian order and gave me meat instead. The korma was so sweet, it tasted like it had 15 tablespoons of sugar in it. Wouldn’t order from here again :/

This is a take away, not a restauranr. Haven't been here for two years or so, but during this current lockdown i have ordered curries from Mr India twice in the last fortnight. Very good and tasty, a vast improvement from the past. Phone and collect on both occasions, about twenty minutes from order to on the plate.

With my regular curry house closed for lockdown and following a recommendation from a friend, I tried Mr. India last night. Very good! Easy to order by phone for collection and very pleasant staff. Chiken tikka madrass was excellent, with nice sides. Will use them again.

I ordered a chicken korma and it was awful, half way through my meal I literally had to drain all of the water on my plate out Into a bowl as the sauce was SO watered down! Didn’t taste like korma at all.

For the first and most definitely the last time we tried a takeaway from here last Friday . I have read some of the poor reviews on here and have to say likewise . We had the " Set Menu 2 " which had Chicken Tikka also Chicken Bhuna . There was no difference they were identical . Calling it a sauce is stretching it a bit . It was very watery and tasteless . The whole " Set Menu 2 " was awful . The only reason I didn't give one star is because who I spoke to was very polite . If you want your business to succeed you rapidly need to change who is in your kitchen ! They can't cook!

We also tried to order a take away delivery. The price the guy said did not match the menu. When I challenged him he was rude and said he had to pay his delivery driver £11 an hour. I said, your menu says delivery is included. To which he replied it is an hour and forty mins for the delivery did we want it or not?As there was nowhere else open. We rang back and ordered to go and collect, and the price was exactly as per the menu. Food was OK.

Appalling. Openly trying to overcharge for a takeaway, by over 20%! Prices online and from menu aren’t what they’re charging over the phone. When challenged the guy is disgustingly rude... vile. Having used them bi weekly for years, they’ve lost us as customers. Frequently miss stuff off but apologise. Now just taking the mickey.

What an amazing curry! So so SO lovely - always impressed but today particularly more so! Timing of delivery was bang on and the flavour was awesome x thank you so so so much xx

stayed at the regency park hotel and decided to have a curry delivered. the food was late - which meant that the it was tepid when it arrived. the sag pannier looked like cream spinach and hard cheese and tasted like it was with coconut and sugar. it was not pleasant. the chicken shashlik was semi decent but the onions and peppers were squeezed into the box causing condensation. not all the poppadum's were cooked and the prawn dish was very oily. there is plenty of room for improvement however I wont be wasting my meal allowance here again.

This is the second time I have used Mr. India to supply our family gathering with an Indian take away and each time it has been excellent. There are five adults who enjoy Indian food and lots of it, our order with the discount came to £80.00.We all ordered very different starters, main courses, side dishes & Nan Breads. Not forgetting the 8 Poppadoms.When we telephoned our order through (5.50pm Sat) we explained we were placing a very large takeaway order, the kindly gentleman said no problem & efficiently took the order. We asked how long before we could collect and were advised 45 minutes. We arrived at 6.30pm just as they were finishing our order, excellent service. The people serving at the counter could not be more pleasant or helpful, the order was repeated to us upon collection of which we remembered to take our list with us and all was correct and confirmed when we unpacked it at home. All the food was piping hot & no broken poppadoms. I must mention the Sag Paneer Spinach & Cheese, this is the second time I have had this dish and it is excellent. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed all the food supplied by Mr. India & as I am the person doing the review I must mention the Chicken Tikka Vindaloo - This is the best I have tasted in a long while. Hot but not incendiary, you could still taste the Tikka chicken and the sauce was perfect.The three bags of salad that came with the starters & one main were freshly washed and the lettuce was crunchy, I cannot fault the quality.

Chicken was fine but tasted nothing like a korma, was watered down too and with every bite I'm heaving! Rice tasted like fried vegetables! Never again!!!!

Love ordering from here. Deliveries are always on time and prompt. The food is excellent and the most tasty Indian in Newbury! Offers a range so caters for many.Always pleased with the service and manager Fazz has been brilliant. Ordered a delivery. Not everything turned up and all the portions were really small. They guy taking the order seemed unsure and that should have been my warning. He even got the address wrong despite reading it back to me. Never ordering from here again.

I ordered a take away and the food was awful. Chicken tikka masala was nothing like anything I’ve ever tasted, way too sweet, overpowered any other flavour. I rang to ask if they’d sent me the wrong meal and the person I spoke to was so rude!

Absolutely awful service. Order my food, waited over an hour for it to be delivered. Then to get the wrong order forgotten things. Call them up to tell them they said they will bring up the stuff they’ve forgotten but didn’t understand the other food would be cold by the time they got here with the rest. For them then to hang the phone up... called back again and spoke to them about the same thing and they did exactly the same. Very unprofessional and very disappointed in them as enjoyed there food.

Only received 2 of the 4 poppdoms ordered and these were broken into small pieces. Chicken tikka masala only had 5 small pieces of chicken which were tasteless and had definitely not been tikka grilled and tasted as if they were cooked plain and added to the sauce at the last minute. Sauce over sweet. Very small amount of lamb in madras sauce

Food of poor quality, Bajis floating in grease and dried up, definitely been reheated. Sag aloo a pile of mush, korma tasted synthetic , barely any chicken and far to sweet, definitely some sort of sweetener added. Only edible part of our order was the pilau rice and naan bread! Won’t be ordering again!

Just had an Indian delivered half an hour late. Wish it never came. Chips were covered in grease and korma dish was really sweet not the usual taste. Papadoms were stale and didn’t want to attempt the mint sauce. When asking for a total they were going to charge me more. Was going to pay by card but had to pay cash good job I had some. I Like to try different food places but definitely wouldn’t use them again.

I ordered a takeaway order on the Mr India website. It was really easy to do and it had a discount offered. After placing my order I got a text and email saying the kitchen had my order and my food would be ready 40 mins. My parents went to collect however the restaurant was very busy because it was Saturday night but this was completely understandable. Our order took longer than expected due to this. Once home we dished out our food. It was lovely. I had lamb bhuna and the meat was really tender and the curry had lots of flavour although no veg but this was not a big issue as it tasted so nice. My parents had chicken korma and a chicken bhuna which they both enjoyed. The chips were really nice and seasoned well. We also had 2 portions of vegetable samosa although the samosa very mini which it didn't say on the menu so I will get those from the supermarket ready in future as we like big ones. We will definatley be ordering food from Mr India again.
