Attended the Tuscan cookery class last night after receiving vouchers for Christmas. What a delight this experience was. Superb host with a friendly, efficient team supporting. Relaxed atmosphere, easy to follow instructions. We created some really tasty dishes, made with the finest ingredients. At the end of the night we ate our dishes and even took a doggy-bag home! Do this, you won’t regret it. Thanks Simon and Team Papadeli

Papadeli hizo todo lo posible para atender nuestra boda este septiembre. Vivimos localmente en la tienda y lo conocemos bien a través de su excelente clase de cocina del Medio Oriente y delicatessen. Cuando descubrimos que también preparan bodas, fue una decisión fácil pedirles que produjeran la comida en líneas similares para nuestra recepción y la "fiesta de compartir" que produjeron fue la charla del día. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed visiting Papadeli during my time in Bristol (the last 4 years). From coffee and cake to a mix of salads !! Always amazing! Lovely staff, fab vibe - will defo be returning when I am in Bristol again! Xxx

When we decided to get married as foodies our main priority was a great wedding breakfast. We rocked up with a million ideas and some how, magically, Lou and her team created our wedding meal of dreams. We gave them a short time frame to work from, very little information and just kinda expected them to know what we were after and they absolutely out did them selves! We went for a tapas style menu and there was not one thing I could fault. From food, to service, from cooks to waiters, every single aspect of Papadeli and their crew made our wedding everything we wanted and more. All our guests have done since, is wax lyrical about how unreal the food was and that was absolutely what we were after. Lou is a complete darling and took dealing with both mine and my husbands laid back carefree attitude in her stride. I could not recommend these guys enough, if I ever needed a party or event catered for again I wouldn't go anywhere else. Papdeli.....you guys rock!

The service and food Papadeli provided for my husbands niece wedding was amazing it was faultless throughout the day would highly recommend this company.

Amazing place, delicious healthy platter of salads, with olives and bread, followed and cakes to share. Great value. Staff were fantastic and went out of their way. Best place by far in Clifton Down, Bristol for breakfast, a hot drink or a takeaway sandwich. Thank you Papadeli.

I had visited with my father just weeks before my most recent visit where I proceeded to order a halumi sandwich and my father something similar. Were were then informed that of the 6 or 7 sandwiches displayed that had only the ingredients for four. With that I chose a sandwich from the new limited collection I had to choose from. We ate the sandwiches and decided that they weren’t worth the trouble, time or money. Our next visit was then this Saturday morning as all other brunch places around the area were full so gave Papadeli the benefit of the doubt. We Went in and ordered off of the breakfast menu with a selection of 5 or 6 fairly cheap options. I ordered the bacon sandwich and my father and brother ordered croissants. On our first attempt at ordering we were informed that they had no bacon. I then reluctantly reordered the toast slightly angry that they could advertise a bacon sandwich and nor provide the bacon. We were then informed that the restaurant only had one croissant! At this point we promptly left, both I and my company were mystified at the fact a restaurant could falsely advertise so many dishes that they don’t in fact have the capacity to provide. Absolutely ridiculous and do not recommend!

The Sicilian cookery school is great! Great chefs, staff and course - we cooked a variety of Sicilian goods, ate 3 courses and had a healthy amount of wine. Will be doing another soon 👏🏻

This is a little gem well known by locals calls. There are very few cafe restaurants with a selection of really good varied freshly made salads, lovely quiches hope cue of salads plus choice various meat or vegetable accompaniment. Filled baguette etc, delivery cious cakes. All to eat in or take out. They also do monthly cookery lessons which I am hoping to try when convenient date, all different countries, Italian Persian, Friendly staff. Good for coffee and cake or even take away salad box with fruit or crisps

I called in here this morning and was treated to first class customer service from the lovely staff (see photo). The flat white was delicious and I have never tasted such a tasty flapjack - it was beyond delicious! I loved the ambience of the place - it felt like a real oasis. I shall call back again soon and have a good 'mooch' around the myriad of stuff that's on sale here.

Papadeli just handled the catering at my daughter's wedding reception at the RWA in Bristol. They were superb. Great food, friendly efficient team of staff, excellent service. I assume their deli is great too.

I’m reluctant to share as this is our regular favourite place and we want to keep it to ourselves but these guys deserve a fab review. The coffee here is delicious and well made, cakes fresh and yummy and the service friendly. The deli is well stocked and we always come away with lots of treats even when we just pop in for coffee!

Great authentic Italian! Their salads are great, they have a good range and are fairly good value. although some of their dishes are a bit pricey. And their supermarket area is pretty expensive - but I guess that's because it's speciality stuff from Italy! So if that's what you're after, this is the place to come!

Visiting Clifton, we found it difficult to park for a coffee, but could park outside on the road here for an hour, which was ideal. This is a great deli, with delicious looking sandwiches, salads, vegetables. Do have a look. We were in for an early coffee and toast, but would loved to have come again for lunch.

Lovely healthy vegan salad which was delicious and non dairy coffee. No vegan cakes but actyually I was really full with the salad.

Very good quality coffe and they know how to make it. Good selection of cheeses and variety of speciality foods for gifts or special occasions, also serves a good range of tasty savoury snacks.

Simon and his team prepared and delivered picnic hampers to our recent wedding in Glastonbury. The service and attention to detail in planning the menu was spot on and Simon helped us pick a selection of food that our guests really enjoyed. The salads were a massive hit and many of our guests commented on the broad bean, pea and feta salad. Similarly the Westcombe cheddar was really popular and our guests kept coming back for more, well after lunch was finished :)

This is a brilliant deli with a great range of products for sale. The sandwiches are amazing, really excellent quality and great value too. Highly recommended.

If you like and eat regularly at Macdonald's don't come here. This is a deli for serious foodies. It should be on a Bristol food tour without doubt. Every item in the shop is bought with attention to taste and quality. I can't recommend it...

Popped in to this wonderful array of goodies to purchase a "sandwich" instead of lunch. One sandwich was more than enough for two of us to share. Fabulous ingredients filled a needy hole in the tum, Thoroughly recommend.

I went there with my partner few weeks ago to have a quick and simple lunch. We got a platter with 4 different salads, bread and great olive oil and one "felafel-arancini". Everything was super tasty and we will come back for sure!

Popped in for a quick coffee, couldn't help buying one if the great looking cakes and really finding it hard not to buy a selection of stuff from the deli! Food Heaven....

I love this place. It is packed to the ceiling with many delicious things to eat. We often come here for a coffee before doing our shopping. Great olives, cheese, honey and chocolates are the things we tend to go for but always come out with more.

Really a shop, but also does hot drinks, cake, quiche like things and posh salads. Really enjoyable, if a little pricey.

So Papadeli has had a makeover - shifting some shelves around to make the space feel more airy and light. And it really works. They've also overhauled the menu and this is now a simply excellent choice for a lunchtime bite to eat.My daughter and I had a sharing platter and there was more than enough cheese, meats, dips and breads, sun dried tomatoes, olives and pickles to feed three or four.It's also a very good place to have someone make you a top quality coffee.Come for deli shopping, stay for lunch or coffee and a cake.

Went there for early tea and cake. It is located within the Royal West of England Academy building at Queens Road, Bristol. We ordered some tea (Choice of leafs or bags),which came in a nice red tea pot and a small “Rocky Road” cake to share. We sat in the high celling room with a clean and light environment. Additional milk, condiments and cutleries and napkins are available in the room. There are some artworks on display as well.Overall experience are very good and, freshly brewed tea, tasty cake, friendly staff and not too bad to the wallet too.

I always visit this deli when I go to Bristol.It sells a good array of olives and international foods, in particular great olive oil.The food served here especially the salads are unusual, healthy as well as delicious. You can eat in or take away.As for the cakes they are delicious especially their red velvet cake. It is amazing the best version outside of the US. Staff are very friendly too.It is always busy too which is a good sign.

This summer my daughter and her partner got married at Oxleaze Barn in the Cotswolds (a great location and friendly and charming, helpful staff). They asked Padeli to provide the wedding meal, which they did with style, charm and panache.Of particular note was their attention to detail, talking to the happy couple at length about what syle and type of food they wanted, provisional menus, a private tasting at their kitchens and discussion with them of samples of the various dishes and last minute adjustements to the recipes and presentation. On the day the food and service was magnificent. Eveyone at the wedding was extremenly complimentary, about the dishes, the cooking, the presentation and the efficient, friendly and effortless service.I can only highly commend them unreservedly.

This Deli just off White Ladies road is a real gem. We arrived into Bristol at 3pm looking for a place to have a lite lunch, we did not want the normal high street fast food multiple outlets This little Deli s amazing - a fresh food, salad, cake counter that is a feast for the eyes The shelves are stocked high with all sorts of specialist cooking ingredients from every type of pasta to hot sweet mango jelly - delicious I ordered a 4 cheese and onion marmalade toasted sandwich with salad on amazing bread - have to say it is one of the best I have ever had and I am hard to please. To top it off the coffee was really good as well The cake counter is beckoning but I am off to do some shopping - might come back though Well done all - staff really friendly as well

The service and food was brilliant.We decided to go for the sharing feasts as the main meal and also had buffet food in the evening. Everyone said how delicious the food was and we really enjoyed it as well. Particularly the lamb was very popular, also canapes, I loved the carrot cake and the evening buffet disappeared really fast! I also thought the attention given to the guests with allergies was great and we really appreciated it. I would definitely recommend Papadeli for wedding catering.

I used Papadeli to do the food for my cousins intimate wedding in a boat in summer.From beginning to end it was such a fantastic experience.Nina and Pete are just excellent and the whole ordering and paying process was easy and friendly and flexible.On the day, it was absolutely brilliant.There was so much lovely lovely good.Very high quality, innovative, on trend, fresh and amazing portion sizes.It really was the highlight of the day (well apart from the getting married!!)I can't tell you how well it went down with everyone. Delicious and so beautifully set up in the boat by the Papadeli team - which was a favour really. It came in beautiful hampers on rustic platters and was just lush!I would use Papadeli anytime for any function - plus I go to the cafe a lot and love it for salad, cake and gifts!

I popped in here for lunch on a whim and I'm glad I did! They've got a really good range of salads and cakes but I went for the sweet potato and coriander soup with bread. The soup was thick and rich and very good indeed, the bread was nice but not the best I've had, hence the 4 rather than 5 stars. I took away a hazelnut chocolate cake which had a lot of hazelnuts in it! It was nice. The soup was good value at £5 and I'll be back.

I come here all the time as I live just around the corner and it is so fab!! The salads and cakes and consistently delicious and always varied. The shop has a great range of chocolates to oils and all other usual deli delights and more! The staff are so accommodating and bubbly as well. I am very interested in their catering service I have heard about of good things about and my friend had a Mediterranean cookery class there a few weeks ago and still races about it! Amazing to see a local small business trying so hard and thriving in doing what they love.

I cannot recommend these cookery courses more highly. I was lucky enough to attend both of these and was really impressed. Alexis, who led the evening brilliantly, and her helper Lizzie were passionate, knowledgeable, experienced and fun; I learnt so much from watching them and prepping a variety of vegetables (even basics like better chopping skills and to trust your instincts with quantity of ingredients, not necessarily measuring them out). We made pastry, spatch-cocked poussins (flattening them through bone removal and stuffing the skins with a buttery tarragon and garlic sludge), flame-smoked the aubergine for baba ganoush, watched taramasala being made from squidgy roe, learnt the perfect balance of sweet and sour for capanata and experienced different Middle Eastern spices. The ingredients were generous, all abundantly presented in rustic wooden bowls in the middle of the table that we worked at. We were sustained with beautiful olives, nuts and wine whilst cooking. There were handfuls of utterly fresh herbs to chop, glossy colourful vegetables piled up to cut, tips and advice were given continually. Later on we ate an enormous meal that we had all cooked together and took parcels home with containers of the food we had produced to eat the next day. We had fun and shared stories with one another; we learnt about cooking in a non-serious way. The evenings are 3 hours and I think so enjoyable because they are a perfect balance of easy watching, listening, sampling, chatting, generosity (and obviously cooking) as opposed to 3 hours of hardcore cooking. Can't wait for the next course!

Happened to be walking past looking for somewhere to have breakfast, took one look in the window and knew it was for us, we weren't disappointed. WOW the breakfast was delicious along with fab choice of food and drink in the deli. We enjoyed it so much we went back later that day for coffee and cake! Service was friendly and efficient.

I use to go here often, but I don't go anymore, because all of their salads taste too similar. There must be a certain herb they use repeatedly in their salads, not a fan anymore. Nice salmon though!

I work for the University and I frequently use Papadeli for their catering services. They are so easy to work with! They even put up with short-notice orders and provide food which caters to every palate/dietary requirement. The staff are always friendly and it's a genuine pleasure doing business with them.

Papadeil provided us with delicious, fresh and really fun wedding food. Simon and his team met with us lots of times in the run up to our big and their input and attention to detail was invaluable in ensuring everything ran like a dream on our big day. The food and service was superb.Papadeli are an ideal choice when looking for catering for a large number of people.

I attended the Papadeli 'Winter in Venice' Cookery class on January 20th 2016. The class size was 10 with 4 staff who took us through four different courses in 3 hours. We were given wonderful tips along the way and the atmosphere was very friendly. We sampled our cooking all evening and sat down near the end to enjoy our main course together. The 'Papadeli Four' were all so helpful, welcoming, generous with their time and their ingredients! We all went home with exciting parcels full of food that we have prepared, plus recipe sheets on how to recreate the dishes at home. They even opened the shop up at 9pm so that I could buy a few ingredients. A thoroughly enjoyable experience run by a totally lovely bunch of talented chefs. Would defo go again.

I have visited this shop many times to purchase items but never to eat.This Saturday my husband and I decided to stop for a drink and a cake.I am so pleased we did as their red velvet cake is absolutley delcious. I haven't tasted one as good as this is in the UK for months. It reminded me of the US where they know how to do red velvet cakes. It was so light, not dry which tends to be the tendency in the UK and delicous with the cream cheese filling that melted in my mouth.As for the salads they are fresh, different and full of flavour.It is a packed shop with a laid back vibe which I particularly like as a haven from the madness of the high street.The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgable and take pride in the fresh produce.

Recently, Papadeli was recommended to me by the venue in which I was organising a corporate event for the organisation I work for. I was extremely happy with the service they provided. Initially, we were assigned a contact, Simon, who myself and a colleague went to meet with and discuss our requirements. He listened and understood our needs, and was able to make very useful suggestions. On the day of the event, a manager and two waitresses arrived promptly and set up without any fuss. They circulated delicious canapés that everyone enjoyed, and did so with smiles on their faces. Such a friendly team!Not only was the food delicious, but it was great value for money. I will be popping into the deli myself, and would definitely use them - and recommend them - for future corporate events.

If you are ever in Bristol you must stop here excellent food, excellent products and lovely people serving. Will definitely come again

We are new to Bristol and having passed by Papadeli on several occasions, thought that it looked interesting and could be worth a visit. Today we popped in for a late lunch and won't go in again. We ordered two hot chocolates and two sandwiches and sat down but the table needed cleaning, none of the three staff did this preferring to stand about chatting. I'm a fan of laid back, unobtrusive service but this was just lazy. Our food arrived and was good, but nothing special. As we were getting ready to pay and leave, my partner drained his cup and nearly swallowed a piece of wood that was in the cup. It was splinted and could have easily caused an injury or choking hazard, so he took it to the counter to report it. The staff were completely uninterested and one even laughed. Our server admitted that she may have broken a wooden stirrer when making the drink. Surely she would have had the sense to look for the pieces? When I complained further, they offered the drinks free of charge, but no apology or concern came. Very poor. Clearly Papadeli pride themselves on the food they serve but perhaps they need to concentrate on basic customer service and safety.

Stopped in at the RWA for a bit of culture on a Sunday afternoon and after mooching around the art we thought a well deserved coffee and cake was required. Papadeli didn't disappoint. The Americano was dark and smooth. The brownie dense with flecks of raspberry. My other two friends had the polenta cake, so moist and the rock road - well what is there not to like about a rocky road!!! Nice seating area, with lots on offer for adults (knitting whilst you have tea?!) and children. All in all a great place, in a lovely venue.

I usually go at Papadeli when I feel nostalgic of Italian food. They have a quite good choice of both Italian, unfortunately very expensive, and English products. They make delicious cakes and very good sandwiches. If it was just a bit cheaper, I would buy the food everyday there rether than going to the Sainsburys!

Met here this morning , super quality tea and the croissant with ham and cheese was delicious.The sausage rolls as well are 100% amazing .Everything is very high quality delicious and to be enjoyed on a regular basis .Fantastic deli as well with some much to enjoy and take away.

These guys did my wedding there were amazing and the food was great all our guest said they'd never been to a wedding with such great food. We had a feast witch worked really well and we're given great guidance for what to have.There were great to work with and I will be sad no we have no more reasons to pop it but I'm sure I will find some.If you thinking about using these guys you should! Very friendly deli that serves very nice fresh good quality food; eat in or take out. They have a catering section for breakfast, lunch, weddings, conferences etc. Their prices reflect the quality of the food but it's good value if quality is what you want.

The food and cakes at the Royal West of England Academy looked so beautiful I'd have liked to try them all. The loose leaf Darjeeling was delicious, and I found a quiet alcove with a scrubbed wooden table to sit and prepare for my meeting. Very tempting to stay all day.

Super friendly service from the lovely Papadeli bunch. Delicious hot-pressed sandwiches filled with some of their beautiful fine cheeses and cured meats from the deli counter at a reasonable price. And the best salad boxes on Whiteladies. Well worth a visit on your lunchbreak.

I love eating here. It's so good. Food is so good, happily pay the price charged for the sandwiches. The choice pairings are super and I am always happy to go here.

Hobbs Bakery bread, toasted with a generous serving of butter and raspberry conserve. A wonderful full roasted Americano to accompany. Sat downstairs, busy with customers popping in to buy from the deli. Added to the atmosphere. Treating my friend to brunch soon so will be back to taste more options from the menu.

We held a birthday dinner at Papadeli last weekend. As it was surprise the planning stage was really entered into with great secrecy by Simon the owner. He was keen to organise the event with every decision perfect for our 36 guests. We sat 16 upstairs round the huge "island" and two tables of ten on the middle floor. Coming together on the top floor for drinks at the beginning created the informal atmosphere we aimed for. The meal was delicious served by excellent, well trained staff who managed to be both efficient and friendly and barely visible. I really recommend dealing with Papadeli for a superb occasion or to buy gifts or delicious deli food.

I have always been a fan of the gorgeous, top quality and delicious food which Papadeli produces as well as the "hard to find" specialty items they supply in their shop. I have had the pleasure of experiencing themed dinners in their restaurant, have participated in a fun yet informative day of cookery lessons, and have attended parties which they successfully catered.. it was no wonder I chose them to cater our daughter's 21st. Simon created a bespoke menu for us, ahering to the theme and offering several cost saving suggestions, as well as sourcing any of our quirky requests...nothing was too much. He and his lovely assistant Messalina were absolute lifesavers during the stressful process which lead up to the event. The interesting menu they created and served was second to none...it was absolutely delicious and our guests still rave about it. They delivered professional and cheerful service to our 115 guests and stayed and cleared to the very end. I wouldn't think twice about using Papadeli again and I would recommend them 100% to anyone.

Another excellent supper evening this month. We always enjoy them and try to bring friends if we can.. The food is always interesting, the octopus and black pudding was a highlight this time.

We have been coming here for years and in all that time I have only had great experiences. When dining in the food is always fresh, tasty and interesting, and there's always something new to try. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and you really do need that knowledge when going through their cheese and cold meat selection, both of which are the best in Bristol (not said lightly, and no mean feat). We regularly base our dinner parties around Papadeli takeaways - more time eating and drinking, less time cooking!Highly recommended.

In these days of mass produced, artificial, shrink wrapped food, it is so refreshing to see a small independent who care passionately about great ingredients and quality food. We've been customers for ten years now - and whether it's a meal in the cafe, a takeaway lunch or catering for a birthday party, we've always had great service and really, really high quality food. Lovely, knowledgeable staff and creative, tasty food.

As loyal customers of the cafe and deli for many years, it was on the strength of one of Papadeli's supper evenings back in January that we chose Papadeli to cater for our wedding earlier this month.Everything we loved about our experiences as cafe/deli customers was replicated (and then some!) for our wedding day: The staff, friendly, knowledgable and attentive; attention to detail superb; and the food....well, the food was just fantastic! Simon helped us put together a menu themed around 'sharing', with boards of bread, Serrano ham, tapenade etc. followed by a sumptuous cassoulet and finished up with orange and almond cake, which we cut together with our guests. Everything on the day ran like clockwork - Mesalina running a tight ship, everything beautifully cooked and waiting staff putting in so much effort. When it's the biggest day of your life, and with us both being obsessive planners, it really helped us to relax knowing everything was in hand.Thank you to all at Papadeli for the huge role you played making our big day one to truly remember.Ed&Kate

Papadeli catered a party for us (25 people). They were a joy to deal with - so helpful, flexible and professional. Truly delicious buffet and all the necessary plates, glasses, tables etc delivered. Highly recommended.

I've never been disappointed with the food I've had from Papadeli. It's always a treat for the eyes, but is never style over substance. The imaginative flavours and quality are always fantastic, and I could spend hours in the deli too, it's packed full of exciting products everywhere you look! Looking forward to my next visit.

My latest experience sums this deli up.....I needed fresh meringues last minute and popped into Papadeli. They had just one beautiful rose meringue left but that was it and I needed more? I mentioned it to the girls on the shop floor and suddenly the owner appeared and offered to whip some up for me!!! Doesn't get much better than that!I buy gifts here, catch up with friends here and even bought our entire Christmas lunch here back in 2006 when we moved house on Xmas Eve and had NO kitchen.I love this place.

I love my food so a real treat for me is stopping at papadeli before I venture into Bristol for shopping, in fact sometimes i find myself stopping before yI go shopping for a lovely coffee and lunch which I must say is outstanding, but too often than not I find myself stopping for something to take home for tea. Papadeli is one of those places that you have to visit, the staff are very welcoming, and the things you can find in there are fantastic. This ranges from some of the produce and goods you can find of which you won't find in most supermarkets to the delicious fresh food they prepare daily. At Christmas the shop is filled to the brim with fantastic gifts. I love going to papadeli it's a place you must visit. The best deli I have ever been to!

I recently visited this deli because of the outstanding reviews. The food is quite decent but certainly not exceptional. The ambience was clearly lacking and the view out nothing special. The table space is cramped by the numerous shelves crammed with deli shop stock. The room was full of tables with dirty china and cutlery strewn about. I had to ask the waitress to clear and wipe clean our table. The service was disinterested at best. There are plenty of good eating options on the adjacent Whiteladies road and I will try somewhere else next time I am in the area.I cannot comment on the deli side since we only bought lunch.

Every time I come to Bristol I make sure that I fit in a visit to Papadeli's. I was recommended it a few years ago and haven't looked back since. If you're looking for a quick and tasty bite with a coffee or a scrumptious lunch then go here. The choice is incredible and the staff are always willing to help you with your decision, particularly the tall lady who I assume is the manager - very passionate and engaging about the massive selection of food on offer! Also, I always manage to find a gift for those I'm staying with, it's a treasure chest of scrumptious foods.

Visited Papa deli the other day and we thought it has the best coffee in Bristol, along with the brownies!!and were very happy to see chococo chocolates on the shelves which are our favourite chocs, as they are all made in Dorset.

This lovely little deli is a hidden gem for lunchtime treats. I had a sandwich filled with cheese's and cured meats that were absolutely delicious. I rather optimistically bought a cake as well, which was saved for a tea time treat...It was well worth the wait!A must visit for fellow Clifton-ites.

First time at papadeli based on recommendation.Very much enjoyed a brisk lunch here from work. The range of lunch choices was good from hot meals to tarts to soup. There are a few tables and a couple of long bars to eat at or take away is available.Opted for a mushroom tart with two salad options. Staff were good and gave two pieces of the tart due to the slightly thin cut to make sure I had enough. What made lunch though was the salads. Often work lunches aren't great for fresh healthy options but the bean and pea green salad was fresh and vibrant and the lentil salad richly flavoured. Both were good portions and the salad also packed enough to satisfy the appetite alongside the quiche.One thing to say is lunch isn't a cheap option here compared to other local options but for what you get I think it's worth it. The decor is also packed with things to buy in true deli style which I'll have to inspect closer when I have time. Would definitely visit again.

Have popped in a few times now, mainly for a quick lunch snack but have always been impressed by the fresh menu selection and good service. Most recently I came in to make a basket for a special picnic, and the staff were both excellent in helping me pick out a lunch for my partner and I to take to celebrate our anniversary the next day, made really good recommendations - he enjoyed it thoroughly so I shall definitely be back if there is time for more picnics this summer! Great place to go if you are a bit of a foodie and know your stuff, lots of speciality foodstuff and very tasty imported goods! Cakes are absolutely brilliant here too!

Been a few times now and always interesting and tasty food. One of Bristol's best little cafés and the deli always has some quirky things to try.

You don't find places like this very often and Bristol is very lucky! If I'm in Bristol I make sure I visit. Great for quality food gifts for discerning friends and i always get carried away with the cake counter (forget diets!). I do my best not to spend too much in the takeaway food section but temptation often gets the better of me. When will you open one in Bath?!! Please? :)

This is my favorite deli and I travel across the border (I live in Wales) to sample their delights as often as I can. The owner is passionate about both the quality of the food he sells and the experience for the customer. I have always had such a warm welcome from him and all the staff who are very knowledgable and so enthusiastic about their produce. The food is cleverly sourced from all over Europe and I feel that a trip around the shelves of this lovely foodie heaven is like the best gastronomic trip around Europe! Well done to everyone involved and long may you continue to maintain your position as the most inspiring deli in the South West! I was encouraged to visit their café at the RWA and found it equally charming with all the quality and high standards of the original deli. When I was overheard speaking Welsh on my phone, to my delight I was greeted in Welsh by a charming assistant who happened to be Papa's son - there's service! You don't often get that in Cardiff even. Da iawn Papadeli!

We went to Papadeli for the first time, after a recommendation from one of our close friends and we weren't disappointed! Upon arrival the staff were extremely friendly and welcomed us the intimate setting for supper. One the members of our table has food allergies and they were more than happy to cater for her needs. The food was absolutely delicious and superb value for the amount that was served. A nice touch was that the owner came over to make sure we enjoyed the food - He was extremely knowledgeable about his produce and made us feel welcomed.We look forward to coming back and popping into the deli in the next time we are in Bristol!A truly great end to our short weekend in Bristol.

Went to Papa Deli's for lunch with my friends from Bristol and was overwhelmed by the amazing choices on offer both savoury and sweet. The service was friendly and welcoming and their knowledge of the food at the deli was extremely helpful. We had some of their scrumptious homemade sausage rolls with a range of salad which were really fresh! Their chocolate nemesis cake is to die for... You have to come visit this amazing independent treasure!!!!

I've tried going in with a new outlook and every time, I'm underwhelmed. The staff are bored and disinterested in being there let alone serving the food and I've yet to buy anything from the deli that I've thought was delicious. The products on the shelves look like they've been sitting there for far too long. Have finally learned my lesson, will not be returning.

Nice little cafe and deli shop. Most excellent cakes! We also used the catering service for a small event but were a bit dissapointed with the rather bland offerings, maybe our fault for what we chose (but recomended by them). They offer cooking classes which looked interestng.

There is only one thing majorly wrong with this place - the staff! They are very unfriendly and deliver a consistently poor service. I have been many times and have never had a good service. Most staff behave as if customers are a nuisance. They can't be bothered, they make you wait unnecessarily, they look at you as if you're beneath them. The blond woman who is there every day (she may be the owner or manager?) is the worst offender. I have never met a more unfriendly person in a customer facing job. If she hates her job and is really bad at it - maybe it's time she found a different job!I go to Papadeli's often for lunch, and morning coffee because I work nearby and the deli selection is generally nice. The only reason I go there for my morning coffee sometimes is because their morning special offer is good value: any coffee at £1.50 before 11am (It's about £2.60 after 11am) and you do get a nice sweet treat with it. I would never buy coffee there after 11 as their coffee isn't actually good and you can get much better just a few steps away.Their take-away salad boxes for lunch are nice, and can be a good source of fresh veg for lunch, which is not so easy to find if you are buying prepacked lunches. It's a shame that the experience of going to buy them is rather unpleasant though. Sandwiches aren't great (far too much bread and fillings are uninteresting). Some of the main courses in the deli counter are really nice. You can have them either in or as take away (paid by weight). Salmon en croute is one of my favorites, as are the fritatas and tarts. I tried cakes on couple of occasions and didn't like them, so I don't bother anymore. I find them offensively sweet to the point of being inedible (at least for me). Breakfast pastries were fine, but not as good as in some other cafes nearby. The upstairs cafe has table service and suffers from the same problem: service is dire - both very slow and unfriendly. We tried going there for a sit down lunch on several occasions over the years, but it was always far too slow to be able to do it in a lunch break from work, so we gave up on that. It is also rather expensive for what it is. What a shame about poor service, for otherwise it would be a nice little cafe/deli.

We have been coming to Papadeli for many years. We like the place, the set up and the staff. I particularly enjoy their salads, they are always freshly made and their cakes!We ate many cakes here. They are all very nice- my favourite are the carrot and courgette cake with lovely icing, rhubarb frangipane and the gluten free chocolate cake. We once bought the whole gluten free chocolate cake and had in our fridge for a good week, it was soo good!The deli is full of lovely goodies, from chocolate treats, biscuits, to pasta, preserved vegetables, jams, cheeses, you name it!My favourite deli in Bristol!

Just returned from Japan where quality and service is reknowned. But their coffee is, well, unremarkable. So to Papadeli at the RWA where it has always been so good. Mmmmm! Indifferent service and polenta cake so stale, dry and frangible that it made me gag. Even the table flowers were dried out. As for the coffee (espresso)....unremarkable. Avoid; there are much better places in Bristol.

Visited here for lunch a few times, most recently on a sunny Saturday when the place was deserted. People of Bristol you are missing out!! The Papedeli board in particular is awesome and amazing value at only £12 for two people. Service efficient and friendly too.

Popped in to Papadeli for a light lunch with my daughter. We both had soup of the day - butternut squash, sweet potato and ginger - absolutely delicious - served with wholegrain bread and butter. The cafe is also a deli with a wide range of cold meats, cheeses and shelves of interesting items in jars and tins plus lots of ideas for presents for difficult to buy for foody friends.Will definitely be going back to have a proper meal - the menu was very tempting. Service was helpful and cheerful in interesting surroundings.Easy to park - multi storey car park across the road and on street parking if you are lucky.

Have popped in here a few times recently with friends and alone. I have eaten upstairs in the full restaurant but most recently have used the downstairs cafe.Popped in on News Year's Eve with a friend for coffee, cake and chat. Lovely selection of cake and never tasted a bad one yet. Also great coffee and a great place to watch the world go by from the front window of the cafe. Lovely surroundings too - if you like being surrounded by great ingredients that is!

Food was very nice, but the taste of the tea was quite awful, it left a dreadful taste , so glad I had a slice of cake with it. My partner also felt the same.Would recommend having the coffee which is very tasty.

Amazing staff, mesmerising ambience, delicious food, great value for money. Highly recommend for breakfast/brunch, unfaultable menu. It not only made my day, not only made my year but it made my life. Papadeli beautifully touches your senses from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out so you are left feeling ontop of the world!

A light and varied menu, perfect for summer which is healthy without being overly fussy. The quality of their coffee is excellent and the choice of cakes and pastries is well worth a try. But Papadeli scores highest for its salads - works of art. One of my favourite places to eat.

We ate here twice on a recent visit. Recommended are the charcuterie and cheese boards. And you can browse the art!

Homemade soup and bread delicious and cooked breakfast yummy. Cosy atmosphere and staff very friendly. Highly recommend for brunch. Good value for great food.
