Papa Johns Pizza in West Berkshire

Really overpriced for how bad the food is. I know everyone is underpaid so I blame the company higher ups

First and last time using this place. Where do I start. The App: can't edit an order in the basket even though it's not placed. Have to delete and start again. Took three attempts to pay and no evidence as to whether it had worked without checking my bank for pending payments. Turns out the 'charity donation' box interfered with the payment process. The 'tracker' app ( uber ) said preparing food for more than an hour and never moved past this. My order had vanished completely from the PJ app even though I was still logged on! Service: After an hour I kept trying to call but they kept rejecting my call. Sometimes 'busy' but mostly killing my call. When the pizza did eventually arrive it looked like it had been dropped ( see picture for how it arrived ). Also, it was nearly cold and congealed, I nearly took it back but it was late by then and I was tired and hungry. Seriously, this experience could not have been much worse. If you're deciding e.g. between Domino's and PJs. Don't even think about it. Get Dominos. Also note from the picture they only put toppings on 3/4 of the pizza. And extra toppings are £1.70. For what? Where do they go, inside? There is a big empty ring between the toppings and the crust on all but two slices. Skimpflation at its most obvious.

Not bad pizza but the shop is in not a very good state of repair with ceiling tiles hanging down with duck tape.

I collect from here every now and then and every time, the tracker says that the order is ready to collect, but when I go in and ask for it, they say 'just a few minutes please, it's not ready yet', and then I have to wait 5-10 minutes more for it to be ready. I don't care if the tracker tells me to wait a lot longer, as long as it's accurate. What I object to is being told my order is ready, to then have to stand around in a cold lobby for 10 minutes.

Useless courier failed to deliver

Unfortunately 1 star is the minimum rating. This location used to be reliable and good quality; since outsourcing their delivery to Uber you now have to wait over an hour and a half for delivery and their solution is to wait until the pizza arrives cold then they will send a replacement, prolonging the time further.

Very nice pizza reasonable price

Classic Papa Johns hidden away down a back alley but still as good as always. Always get a good deal.

Great Food, service can be a little faster but I guess that's the price for amazing pizza. Please put a mat at the entrance I have slipped many times. Overall, SCRUMPTIOUS PIZZA!!

Not value for money at all this time round.. ordered the spud tots with cheese and bacon.. well the cheese just about covered 5 spud tots and the bacon… was literally non existent… Pizza was lukewarm and tasted like lukewarm cardboard.. tried calling Papajohns but no answer

Amazing service in papa johns newbury

Got my free pizza tonight! after a mistake with the last order we were promised that on the next order it would all be rectified, and true to their word they delivered the free pizza and it was really hot and delicious. They really look after their customers and I would highly recommend. Great customer service guys.

75 minutes to cook and deliver one pizza at 11am on a Sunday. Pizza arrived cold and soggy. Called the restaurant and they said all they could do is send another one out, but I would have to give the old one back. Imagine waiting 75 minutes for a cold pizza which you can't eat due to the replacement, and then another 75 minutes for them to replace it with another cold pizza. Not a word of apology or care from the staff at all. Terrible.

Ordered from here yesterday, phoned up after placing order to ask for the garlic and herb dip to come with the pizzas, they said that's fine, when It arrived they gave us the special dip. 😒 Pizzas turned up Cold, Hard, and with hardly any cheese on them. Will not be ordering from here again, very disappointing as I've ordered good pizzas from here in the past. Almost as if the person that made our pizzas yesterday did it with out a care at all.

Worst pizza I have had in a long time. Tiny tiny amount of cheese, should have had spicy beef on it & there was a couple of pieces on each slice. Considering this was the only meat that came on the hot & spicy pizza you would have thought they could have been a bit more generous. The pizza was quite dry due to the lack of topping. I definitely will not order from them again. I will stick to the other places I usually order from.

Absolutely awful! Delivered Pizza was cold when it arrived, my granddaughter said it was like it had been warmed up from lunch and she was correct. The pizza was tough, not cut and we had to go over where they had tried to cut it with a pizza cutter. Hardly any cheese just tomato sauce and so dry. Hardly any garlic in the bread. We tried to eat the pizza and the bread but had to give up on both - it’s going in the bin and we now feel quite ill. Terrible experience and £30 for zero . Phoned the shop and he vaguely apologised - never ordering pizza there again! Such shame as last order great plus granddaughters birthday party for 30 was terrific but now Disgusting and no seemed to care.

Paid for extra toppings. They happily took the money but never added the extra toppings. Pizza is also cold

"Said" the manager will never go out his way to help out, customer service is very poor. The other employees are absolutely fine and do a 100% job. There are other places to go, hopefully you'll sort this out.

Friendly place, no issues with the food.

Paid for two pizzas, only given one. Which was so overcooked the bbq sauce baked solid.

Pizza was hard and cold, and the potato tots were cold. Delivery driver took no blame and said she would get Papa John’s to reorder and send out to me. That never happened. Rung Papa John’s 15 times but they never answered. Not interested in customer service only customers money. They should be ashamed of themselves. Due to disabilities I needed to get a takeaway for my dinner but ended up having to have a bowl of corn flakes. Couldn’t leave no stars which is wrong so had to put 1 star but if I could have it would definitely be no stars. Shame on you!!

Said was so helpfull today. We had family over and he was very patient with the big Order. Will definitely be coming back !

Waited half an hour past the expected delivery time, gave the place a call to find out that they never saw my order come in. Waste of time waiting for that!

Was missing loads off our orders when called to explain was accused of lying, the driver was good and kind and actually cared and apologetic but the owner or people at the place he didn’t give a f***.

Marked down on food qualify a bit as I asked for extra pineapple (and paid premium for it) and got about 3 pieces…

Order never arrived, was called after 1hr 30mins to be told the order had to be cancelled. Appalling.

Food is always good from here. I order frequently and I haven’t had a bad order. When ever they run low on things I have ordered they have phoned me and given me extra of something else. Very good place with nice staff

So disappointed, the crust so hard to eat and the meat can hardly seen, only few pieces of meat and vegetables.

What happened, Papa John's had usurped Caprino's as the pizza of choice for my family, but tonight it was dreadful, the texture of the dough was all wrong, more like bread than pizza, and the topping had a gap to the crust larger than an adolescent with a growth spurt trousers to shoes. From so good to so bad. Please sort it out guys because the last two pizzas you provided were excellent.

Got a pizza ordered to the Newbury lodge 5 minutes away and was delivered over an hour and a half late and Stone cold. When I rang after the first hour wondering where it was they said the driver didn't bring it in and left again. I specifically stated I would wait in the lobby. Jokers running the place avoid for your own benefit.

Very poor experience. Food delivery took 90 mins and was so cold and stodgy that it wasn't edible. I won't be ordering from Papa John's again.

Good value for money on there medium pizza.

Despite the shop only 7 minutes away by car the delivery takes half hour. I used a customer service promotion code after the last time. Yet they still turn up late and the food has congealed. You would think they would do better and using a cs-cs number. 1 pizza, 1 delivery, that should be a rule. Muilti deliveries do not work!
