Been here a couple of times before & loved it. fantastic Chinese & Indian buffet..eat as much as you want with a great choice of desserts to follow...A must for anyone who is hungry & wants something to eat just on the outskirts of Oxford

The food here was terrible I came here for one of my family members Birthday And we came out with The grandfather feeling sick because of the Horrible cooked food sushi was Absolutely terrible. There was nice staff which was the highlight of the visit. Never coming back again and won’t recommend to friends or family

Pretty poor. Most things were not hot. First and last time.

We went last night for my nans birthday and have been many times before my daughter has just turned 5 and she is a very picky eater and eats very little . Each time we have been we have been charged the minimum for her as she literally eats 1 chicken call and about 6 chips and then ice cream . However this time they refused to charge the minimum for her and wanted us to pay 11.50 full price we explained we never pay that as she eats so little the manager wasn’t having it at all . So we asked if there was anything they can do he said the best I can do is £9 so we went with that but when it came to paying the bill he charged full price for her anyway . The duck is always mushy and the prawn crackers have been stale each time we have been . We will not be returning again !

Great selection of food with attentive staff for a reasonable price (£22 ish per person including a drink - there aren’t many places you can get a starter, main and desert for that nowadays). Will definitely be visiting again

Service was diabolical. So rude. And aggressive. Chicken was pink. Disgusting. If now raw then chewy. My youngest asked me to check his food as it seemed off. He’s autistic and 7!! I was told off for helping him eat because I wasn’t. Tried to give the kids a nice meal out. £126 wasted. Yes just on children not eating

The restaurant was empty, this should have been a sign. The food was absolutely awful and cold. We have been there once before and wasn't impressed then but just saw it as a buffet experience, but today was not an experience I would like to pay for again. Service was rude and diabolical. Food was spat out by my children, when we tried to speak to the so called manager he fobbed us off like we are just complaining. I have teenagers who eat as much as they can, but them refusing food is something else. Never ever will I ever go there again.

I struggled with this review because we need to review for what it is, not what it could be, but what it should be. It’s a Chinese buffet. That has its own problems of keeping the food hot. Yet, even accepting that it is hard, the food was generally like warm at best, which is not acceptable. The Teppenyaki bar was very good. Fresh and hot. Otherwise the buffet dishes: - Hot and sour soup was not sour and tasted odd. - Fish in black bean was very gelatinous. - Ribs were all bone and no meat. - Duck for pancakes did not look like duck. The atmosphere feels very canteen like. I’d not go back.

I recently had my second visit here and I'm just as impressed as I was following my first visit. Yes, it doesn't have the biggest variety of food when compared to others, but the quality of what you do get is definitely better than most. The restaurant itself is very clean, it's spacious, and the environment is very comfortable. I'll definitely be returning here in the future.

Well, I’d say they sure have variety for buffet and the meals served are tasty. Joined a friend’s family celebration and I will sure return with my own family. It was a busy day at the restaurant but the team paid attention to our table of 10. Great place for a buffet

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Very basic food that was quite tasteless and not very warm! Limited items to choose from. Was really annoyed that I had to to pay £3.50 for my (just turned) two year old (which I understand as she did have 1 nugget and a few spoonfuls of rice on a plate) but I also had to pay £3.50 for my 1 year old to eat about 3 chips from my own plate! Shocking! I wouldn’t go back, would rather travel into Oxford or Swindon.

Me and my family went there yesterday 6th May 2024 for my birthday meal. We spent nearly £200 between us majority of my family traveled from London and Bournemouth to come here. The waiters was putting hot food on top of the stale cold food that’s been sat there for a while. The food was dripping in grease and you couldn’t eat it at all. Some of the food was burnt and when I tapped it on the table it broke to pieces. All night we have all been sick and had stomachache night sweats. We asked for our money back as we didn’t eat anything and they refused in the end they gave us £70 back. We ordered drinks the Pepsi was flat and tasted like soap. This is not acceptable it’s unhygienic and very unhealthy.

There is no food for anyone with a gluten allergy. When asked what they could do. Only stir fry was available on request but was still at the same price as all you can eat. Would of understood a charge for 1 plate, but not all you can eat price. £20 for a plate of stir fry! Staff really didn't care. Just overall, poor service and food quality isn't that good.

In a hurry so went for the takeaway on a Sunday. You can get quite a bit of meat in a container. The choice was very good with Indian and Chinese being the main dishes. All that for £8 and a complimentary drink. Had some rice at home to complete the meal. Brilliant 😋 👍

I had a really nice time at oxy and the waiter Marquez was really nice and helpful and i would recommend to people in Oxford.

The place is very tired, food - mediocre, oily, and tasteless, especially for the amount of money you are asked to pay. Simply put - avoid, and you won’t be disappointed.

Regularly attend Oxy’s for pre-football food. Highly recommend, great choice for everyone, hot food, and always attentive customer service

Prices are mad, my child is 12 and gets a pay of an adult pfft. And my infant has a pay of 10 pounds!!! She’s not eating a whole kfc bucket 😂 she’s not eating nothing. There wasn’t even much food and way too salty.

I've been visiting the Oxy for years with my family. On Saturday I went to have a lunch with my daughter. The staff was amazing and helpful but the food choice option was less then in during the week. No proper cake, some basics biscuits very little amount of fruit, the cake was dry and I think the chocolate mousse was out of date as it was tasting soury. I'm always coming with pleasure here but yesterday it was a big disappointment.

Great place - nice amibiance - lots of variety in food. Pleasnt and helpful staff. Some of the food items had too much colouring - Chiken tikka masala, Chiken Jalfrezy. The oxy chicken curry was okay - could be bettter with little less turmeric - it gave some bitter overtones. Most shreded meat dishes were too sweet. Now for the good parts - Soups - both the ones we tasted were very good - righ temp - right texture and very nice taste - I like the idea of having sause next to the meat eg lemon sause next to lemon chicken. The seafood was exceptional with garlic mussle which was a taste that will make me go back agin, fish and prawns. All the pots had food and were replenished through out. Good selection of desernts and fruits as well.

Took my partner for lunch today . Food was lukewarm pancakes were dry and breaking up . Plates were stone cold and some of the things you expect from a Chinese wasn’t there.

The dining area is getting a bit tired but there is a good choice of buffet food, and it's regularly topped up with fresh items.

This place use to be great I use to go regularly but I went the other day and was told by the waiter to hurry up as they were closing but still another 45 mins left. Some of the food was ok but some like the curry's were bland and watery and lacked any flavour. They no longer have the chocolate fountain which was a massive disappointment and no longer self serve ice cream. Couldn't relax as it felt like we were pressurised to eat fast and get out. Will be a long while before I return but hopefully they do take all my advice and improve.

It is a good place to try different dishes from Asian cuisine. Being just before Christmas, it wasn't very festive, but the food was very good.

Food was a bit subpar to say the least, lots of the meats were quite chewy and fatty and the prawns were not deveined.

Loud as lots of people and tables and full but good food and service excellent. It was disappointing to see when certain foods came out like prawns some customers took 15 or more which left not many for others but there was a good choice of food and all tasted good. 😋 Will come back.

Terrible lunch - definitely would not visit again. Food was cold, told to give it a stir which is a bit difficult when there isn’t anything in the dish. There is only a choice Indian and Chinese. Plates were cold. Mushrooms ran out and no more cooked. Wouldn’t go again.

I’d like to pick out one waiter called money man although he did spill my coffee and give me third degree burns it was all fine because he played a happy birthday for my disabled son

Hi everyone , if you go to this area of Oxford and you want to eat as much as you can please go here , this buffet place is great , clean , good and tasty food , everything that I tried was good and fresh , you get a mix of asian foods to select there and BBQ on demand, its great for people that want and experience into eating Asian , good food , but if you break them down individually they are never going to match a normal restaurant in terms of taste because of the volume of food that they prepare there , but still 5* food here !

This is one of the best Chinese restaurant in Oxford, a lot of variety and a free parking.

“Because of lack of staff” the waiter wanted us to sit in the crowded area of the restaurant. We left.

Every time I go to this place I feel sick after I eaten in this restaurant. It’s Buffet Restaurant which means eat much as you like but when you go to the Grill Chef ask for Prawns they fist look at you like you gone to fight them. Then they just grab 3 Browns only and in 1 minute they give them to you not cooked properly. The food which you could help your self it’s covered in souses & Oil it’s makes you vomit. I went to Calais France Buffet Restaurant it’s like comparing day time & night time in UK the standard the quality the Prawns I got fresh from Grill Chef not just ones but many times as you like no thing like Oxy or Cosmo Plus much cheaper I never felt sick eating In Calais France I was wondering why it’s only when I go at OXY Oriental & Cosmo in Oxford City Centre I feel sick and I Vomited The owner it’s nice But the Food Standards it’s very poorly I know he has 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in the door but that’s for the restaurant been clean they don’t test the food those officers from the Council. They should test the food before they sing those 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Certificates

Can’t argue with a £10 all you can eat lunch buffet! Drinks are a bit expensive but tap water is available. The food was alright quality and there’s plenty of it. Chicken nuggets and chips are also an option. There was some basic Indian food available too. The crispy shredded chicken was yum. Good selection of deserts too and an ice cream bar.

Not the nicest experience. The food was bland, slow to replenish (hence long queues), the Pepsi tasted like water (asked for it without ice). Don’t think we will return for some time.

Refused entry by the owner due to disablility. "We don't care if you're disabled we don't serve you here". We used to come here regularly until the apparent owner banned us due to my disability. Will be reported, as it is illegal to treat disabled persons in this manner.

We've been coming here for years and the food has always been great but today was different. I was specifically refused entry due to my disability, whilst my wife and the rest of my family were invited inside in front of me, after the apprent owner said "We don't care if you're disabled we don't serve you here". I will be taking further action on this case, as it is illegal to refuse entry to disabled people due to their disability (visable or otherwise). I was genuinely stunned at the behavior of the owner, I've never been treated like this in a public place in my life!

Kid friendly, but not when it comes to pricing. Adult price for a child from 150cm. Our child is 11 and tall (158cm). They say it is their policy, which I appreciate businesses have. But this makes no sense and is just a money making policy - a lot more difference. Had I brought her friend who is older and shorter I would be paying £9 extra. In theory there aren't child prices, only cheaper for short adolescents or young primary age. Never known an 11 year old to be considered an adult! I haven't been to any other restaurant and paid £20 for her meal. I would recommend going elsewhere for this reason, as it was a very expensive meal and not much or anything special for it.

Have been going here since it opened! The last few years have been disappointing, not what it used to be. Unfortunately it hasn't improved. I will say that my husband liked his choice of meat dishes. I'm vegetarian and the food options have constantly been the same. Food is nice, but they now do less. They no longer do sushi, toffee apple/banana, less variety of desserts (seem to have added budget biscuits to up the volume). I can understand removing the chocolate fountain as was never the most hygienic when saw what was being dropped in it. I always enjoy having seaweed, but tonight it tasted of old oil, so I left it. The chocolate cornflake cakes were bendy and stale. The pancakes fell apart as they were dry. The vegetable dishes were ok, just a shame they are the same as always - they aren't anything special, especially when it comes to flavour. We noticed it wasn't busy, especially being a Friday night. My husband visited last weekend and there were less people. I remember having to wait in a long queue to get in. It's such a shame as this was one of our regular places to visit. 2 stars given on behalf of my husband's meal.

The staff and atmosphere was great i thought for my 21st birthday this was going to be a great experience however mine and my families experience was ruined by a few items of food. The chow main noodles smelled amazing however we all felt really sick after eating a couple of mouthfuls. The prawn toast left much to be desired these prawn toast were depressing shrivelled up quarters of toast not much flavour unfortunately the sweet and sour was very nice as well as the duck pancakes

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Something is very wrong. The staff are not happy to be there. And so everything else suffers to shocking standards. DONT waste your money. Go elsewhere untill they sort this mess out !!

Surprised by such a good rating for this restaurant . Have been a few times as choices for buffet are limited and It's mediocre at best . Not much options as you would expect in a buffet . Lots of dishes heavily reliant on salt to give it some kind of taste.

Very busy but the food is amazing

Went here for a lunch deal during the week not much selection at lunch time 1 beef dish no prawn dishes & no duck dishes also the station were they cook for you isn't open though the day, but for the money I paid not too bad

Our group had a fantastic time at Oxy restaurant's eat-all-you-can buffet. The food was delicious, and the staff made our experience even more enjoyable. Good place for someone with good appetite

Usually we love oxy but yesterday we were really let down. One of the ladies toilets were out of use and the smell in there was horrendous. There were flies everywhere and it just smelt like urinals. We came for food at 8.45 and nothing fresh was put out whilst we were here until 10pm. What was out had been sat for a while, film was laying across some Indian dishes where it had just been sat so long. Some of the dishes were really chewy, like they'd either been overcooked or sWe sat by the desert area and the flies we watched sit on the food, fruit, cakes and biscuits was insane.This put us of eating further. Oxy has really gone down hill. Staff used to be really on the ball but could tell all were just dying to go home and finish. This made us feel rushed. Hope oxy can improve again!

Disgusting, servers wiping old dirty food back into the "fresh" food and public handling food with their hands and putting it back in front of servers, when I mentioned this to the manager, I was ignored and made to pay full price even though i only eat one piece of food, AVOID!!! Will be reporting to food standards.

Absolutely disgusted with the treatment I have just received. I tried to explain my situation to the manager (I recently had 80% of my stomach removed so I barely eat) he wouldn't listen to me, and told me in no uncertain terms that if I didn't want to eat I should leave!! There were 3 other ppl in my group, 2 who would have been charged as adults. Everywhere else I have been to eat has listened & accommodated me (reduced portions/charges). Won't be going here again!!!

Very dark which I feel in restaurants there should be good lighting. Not much vegetarian food. The food that I had was warmish. People were so lovely but they started tidying the gateaus, cakes, and all the other stuff before I got there.

Alfull place totally rubbish getting changed full price for a 11 year old isn't right. Food not hot, very slow at topping up as well, poor quality some of the food also. Overall I wouldn't go back tippcal Chinese looking to cut massive corners.

Obsługa jest dosyć miła ale reszta to jest nieśmieszny żart. Poczynając od sosu który smakuje jak tania pasta do zębów, po pękające szklanki. Kolejnym minusem jest odgrzewane jedzenie, galaretki smakują jakby wsypano do nich niewiadome ilości chemii. Przechodząc do lodów, były one bezsmakowe i nijakie szczerze powiedziawszy smakują one gorzej niż najtańsze lody z biedry. Same serwetki zachowują się jak bibuła, próbując wytrzeć plamę na bluzie powstała kolejna w kolorze bibuły. Zaraz po zjedzeniu zaczął mnie boleć żołądek. Nie polecam.

Dzień dobry. Podsumowując wszystkie aspekty i opinie moich znajomych dochodzę do konkluzji że nie podobało nam się głosem większości. Jedzenie było nie dobre i miało dużo tłuszczu, boli mnie brzuch. Obsługa nie umie nosić talerzy a szklanki same pękają przy podnoszeniu. Lody to jakieś 50% smaku i drugie 50% to powietrze. Zawiodłem się a o sosach to mam najgorszą opinie, keczup to jakiś dżem chili a sos śmietanowy to pasta do zębów. W ogóle to miejsce na jakimś zadupiu się znajduje. Natomiast klimat jest dziwny, muzyka okropna a goście którzy byli na miejscu nie umieją się zachować a obsługa nic z tym nie robi. Nie podobało mi się...

Absolutely awful. Food was stone cold, not as cold as the man who dealt with my query though. Don't replace the food that's been sat out on counters with hot food. I was charged 7 pound for my 2 year old because she's mature and likes to eat at the table and not in a high chair. She had a handful of chips and a small jelly. The man who I approached about being overcharged said because she wasn't in a high chair She wasn't eligible for the £3.50 fee. He hesitantly refunded me 2 pound and insisted he was in the right. Strongly advice any people with children to not go. However if your are going make sure they're charging the right amount the moment you step through the door.

It's for me best Chinese food in Oxford.

The food was honestly so bad the food buffet was messy and cold, I asked for soup as the soup pot had soup that looked it was their for days it was all crust and dry, asked when the soup was made and they said today which didn’t look like it . The fruit were bitter and felt it a burning sensation on my tongue told the manager he ate off my plate and accused me I am lying my tongue was red visibly (a circle that was red, as soon as my daughter had it she throw it out so I tired it and had the same reaction she is 6 years old) I should of taken a photo, when I went to pay he laughed at me and said you want me to call a doctor or ambulance( I said I am fine but it’s best to swap the fruit as you might get complaints). Last time I was there about 2 years ago it was fantastic but I have heard it’s down graded but now I believe why people don’t go there anymore. Customer service from manager was horrible and my children and I left their and had to go and eat somewhere else, the worse part is their was hair on the pizza and also accused me it’s my hair when my hair is long and not short? The staff has great customer service but the manager needed some training no wonder why it was empty on a Saturday night

Manager is lacking in any type of customer service. He is rude and argumentative. I would not recommend this restaurant for families at all because he tried charging my 2 year old son full price, when I explained I think he made a mistake on the bill. He turned aggressive telling me , because he sat on a chair and not a highchair he wasn't a toddler and couldn't be charged at that rate. I explained very clearly he didn't eat anything but prawn crackers and a mouthful of rice. He said how could I prove this, he shouted and argued with me for a good 5 minutes infront of whole restaurant. The food wasn't great either and dessert options are ridiculous for example they had cut a pink and white wafer into 4 and only expected you to have one piece! Not family orientated and food is mediocre - I wouldn't recommend to anyone !

Oxy Oriental, Oxford, It has a rude Manager, below standard food, poor service, and a very strong smell of Bleach, as they start cleaning up 1 hour before closing. We arrived at 1.30pm, 2 hrs before closing. My son's first time, he loves Broccoli, one piece in the pot the whole time, we were there, which he did eat! The empty plates slowly stacked up on our table of 4, so I removed them, and put them on the unused side of the buffet, (as it was a lunch menu) at this point the Manager storms over very aggressive like, tells me to leave the plates on the table, a waiter will take it... I take my son back to the table, and sit him down, then go to said Manger and tell him his attitude is awful, and one of our party has asked about 15 times for a glass of water from a waiter, but nothing. The 11 yr old had to go to the bar himself in the end, and get 2 glasses of water. The dessert menu was pathetic, the boys loved it, 9 and 11 year olds.. but, it was very lacking. I would not recommend the Oxy to anyone, and I certainly won't be going back anytime soon myself, such a shame as my 9 yr old has just discovered this amazing cuisine! PS: And the website also does not give you the poor lunch menu, so you never know what your going to get!

Went for dinner and did not even eat a plate as my daughter was ill who is in wheel chair so had to leave did not mind paying for food and food was good but talk about take piss when you say could we have a box for take away and he even charges for that don't think I will be back

Awful costumer service, 0 respect for all types of cultures, i have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years and never had a problem before, i invited my family to come and now I have experienced it first hand with discrimination as a gypsy, I was asked upfront for the money although everyone else in the restaurant was eating and not payed. When we asked the reason why they said it was because they had the right to and no reason what given. When we asked some of the costumers if they had payed they said no and they said they where disgusted about the way in which we where treated. Awful experience would advise not to go.

Really cool place to grab a meal. The decor and all the accents add to the package. The menu is wide and diverse to meet different tastes.
