Ori Caffe in Nottingham

They staff at ORI ARE all SO NICE AND FRIENDLY and the treats they serve are amazing 👏 thank you for the lovely meal

I was very impressed with Ori Cafe when I went on Sunday 27th Oct. They dealt with my partner's allergy request with ease, but also without the song and dance production that has become common in modern dining/cafe experiences (flags in food, wait staff needing management oversight to even place the order). The range of food was impressive for the counter space available, without making the display feels crowded or untidy. The food (and drinks!) we had (Brie Focaccia, a Cappuccino, Frittata, a Mango Smoothie and a pair of Brownies) were above the quality I'd expect from the mid range price tag. The service was also high quality, without feeling overbearing or Americanised - which is something I have found more and more common over the last few years in dining experiences. We are not frequently in the area for lunch, but when we are - we'll definitely be back!

Great food, good atmposphere , really nice staff that are acomodating but service is very slow especialy just waiting for drinks, tables need to be cleared quicker..I think the drink service needs to be looked at instead of loosing business...would definately visit again

Went with my brother to get coffee, and was waiting for 10 minutes for my drinks to come, woman who was making my drinks started to make them and then sat down with her colleague and started to talk with her and go on her mobile. After that, she carried on making our drinks and brought them out to us. There was only 2 staff who where actually working! Won’t be returning.

Nice cafe. Teied the carrots cake and the chai latte and it was good. The atmosphere was nice.

Been in a few times as I go to Victoria Centre quite often and just love it Great atmosphere and friendly staff, they know how to do a proper espresso for a very demanding Italian, and food is great as well The lemon tart is my favorite, make sure you try t if you stop at Ori!

Every time I go to Victoria Centre I stop here for a coffe or a light bite. The focaccias are super tasty, but my absolute favourite is the Lemon Tart. Also they make a perfect Espresso, which is what I look for on every place I try! Service is very fast even when they are busy, and the Staff is nice and friendly. Shout out to the assistant manager Francesca! I would give more than 5 starts if I could

Coffee is gud and so are the pastries. Something new, loved it. But, prices are on a higher side.

Popped in for a coffee. My partner had been with her mum the week before and had a salad and said how big it was and how lovely, so even at £9 I was hesitant but I said we’d share it. When it arrived I thought they’d made a mistake it was no bigger than a side salad with lettuce tomato and cucumber, it wouldn’t have fed one of us. She took it back and complained, the waitress said that’s a large salad! The manager came over added a handful of lettuce and a couple of sun dried tomatoes and gave it back to us. All in all £15 for a tea, coffee and salad. No complaints about the drinks but £9 for a salad is a joke. Another protentious coffee shop ripping people off. Avoid the food.

Just had a perfect Soya Latte (made by Francesca) and a slice of Vegan Jaffa Cake, a sublime combination in stylish surroundings and an ambient atmosphere with great customer service. 5 stars all round!

There is a specific staff who is incredibly rude. I sat down on a cleaned section by accident and he came up to me saying ‘this section is closed I just cleaned it, please can you make sure to take all your rubbish with you, I haven’t got the time to clean it again.’ How rude and disrespectful to speak to a customer like this. Absolute disrespect.

Never used this cafe before and be aware it is more pricey than most other coffee shops (standard cappuccino £3.70) . However, it was a convenient place to meet my daughter. They were very busy but I was so disappointed. First our little cakes arrived (and the toffee crisp was very small indeed and not worth the price of £3.80) and we waited so long that I feared we had been forgotten as we were sitting on a table in the concourse. I politely asked if this was the case and was brusquely told "we're very busy". I was then told we were next and our drinks were brought to us. Whilst it was my choice to be there, this experience means I will not be visiting again and will not recommend to friends.

On Tuesday afternoon around 4pm. I decided to walk upstairs past the coffee shop after doing some Christmas shopping. I ummed and arr’d for a few minutes as I knew it would be a costly treat(but definitely worth it). I decided hey! Treat yourself! I walked in with a little hesitation, as it was a little busy but was greeting by a lady in black at the counter. This lady greeted me with nothing but smiles and kindness. It was safe to say nothing was too much! I was unsure how ordering worked. The lady in black explained that it is counter service but if I needed any help she would come over to the table to help. I asked if it was ok to sit at the small table near the fridge with the drinks as it was just myself. She said “ you can sit anywhere you feel most comfortable my love”. For someone that suffers with anxiety this made me feel much more at ease and it was like she knew exactly what I needed to hear. After much deliberation on which cake to choose, I finally chose to have the Jaffa cake with a lovely caramel latte to wash it down. Although I asked for a large, the lady explained they only do the one size. But went above and beyond to show me which cup size my latte would come in but if preferred, I could swap. Within a few minutes my drink and generously sized slice of Jaffa cake appeared at the table. My drink was lovely and hot, and had a wonderful pattern on the top. It was just perfect. A while had passed so I thought I should ask what time the coffee shop closed, the polite gentleman that walked past answered my question and followed with “ but if you need to sit a little while longer you can, we don’t mind”. Again I thought this was absolutely beautiful. All these staff members who have worked a long day, still willing to push the goalpost that one step further! I thanked the gentleman and he smiled and continued to clean tables. Because of this response, it pushed me to go up and order another drink. I saw the queue was building up so thought I’d wait till it had died down. While waiting, I listened to another customer order the Jaffa cake! I was going to say it would be highly recommended by myself, but thought I best not after hearing how he spoke to the lady in black. I didn’t quite hear what happened for him to react in such an angry manor at first. But then heard the lady in back say” I’m very sorry sir, I must have misheard you” This man was abrupt, rude and disrespectful. Myself as an older lady couldn’t believe how the man was speaking to her. It made me very sad to think this lady doesn’t deserve this. I watched the lady take the drinks and cake over to the man that was sat with him. She then started bullying this member of staff. Again, I watched the lady carry the most upmost politeness. How she did that I’ll never know. I know I certainly couldn’t if somebody spoke to me in that manor. I never caught the lady’s name but she definitely seemed to be different to the rest as they were all in tops with the shops name on. So, I just wanted to Thankyou personally, all of your staff on shift that day. They were absolutely amazing to me and the customer service was short of nothing. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!!

Went to get a coffee with my partner the supervisor was amazing and made the drink brilliantly. The other staff are so polite and friendly. This is the best coffee shop I have been to in Nottingham and has become one of my favourite places to go especially because of the supervisor. She always makes great conversation and makes sure me and my partner are okay with our order. Will be going back again, amazing service

Been this morning and i was very impressed with the food display! Big selection of sweet treats, all very tempting it was hard to pick one only for my breakfast. The lady who took my order by the till was very polite as well. 10/10 breakfast

Really disappointing service Argued with my partner about what cake he chose which was ridiculous enough- when the superviser came to our table I mentioned I was disappointed and she argued again! It's alot of money to be treated so poorly - I'd rather go somewhere that knows how to treat customers and deal with complaints effectively. The worst thing was listening to her going back and moaning to colleagues - in the end I got a refund. I'm not paying to listen to that. Never again

Me and my siblings meet here every Friday the staff are so friendly coffee and tea very nice food cakes are all scrumptious prices very reasonable as I have paid more at other restaurants in the city and not as nice

Called in here a couple of times recently, mainly due to there always being a table free. Won’t bother again! 2 coffees and one small lemon tart, £11.80?? The tart was a plain lemon pastry for £4.80. Coffee was slow arriving and the cafe was very uncomfortably hot, despite a ceiling mounted aircon unit that was not working. Now I know why there always seem to be room!

I went to this cafe as the other John Lewis Cafe is so poor. The scone was good and the staff were so friendly . The air conditioning wasn’t working so it was too hot .

Great food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere, you'll feel like home. I'm not a huge fan of coffee, so I generally go for a fruit blend (their Raspberry Heaven is SENSATIONAL), but I must admit: I am absolutely addicted to their lemon tart. It's just delicious!

Well where do I start… ordered food and coffee I sat down got my coffee and waited 25 mins and food hadn’t come so I asked the lady and she came back and said oh what did u order…? Like u literally took my order 20 mins ago?! They have clearly lost the ticket ! And funny thing is they are not even busy ! Will not return after this experience!

It's a difficult one,the food and coffee are delicious but the price is £££. Was it worth it? No but it is a nice treat,better than a Costa,I would go again but I couldn't afford to do it to often.

At 4.10 they already stopped to serve coffee and I had to eat my panini cold as they could not warm it up. Sorry but I will not be returning again. It's a shame because the place is lovely.

Not worth it. Cafe looked nice however only ordered one cold drink from the fridge but they still hadn't brought it 25 mins later! Every one else was complaining also around me as to how long they'd been waiting also. Eventually went to the counter to complain. Had to take a bottle of drink and a straw because by that time late for my train. Ridiculous.

ORI caffe is a prefect place for you to stop by when you need a break after shopping 🛍 !! It is located in the Victoria Centre, next to John Lewis... We ordered: 🍫 Luxury Hot Chocolate with Cream ☕️ Latte 🍰 Afternoon Cake 🧀 Cheese scone ⭐️ It was a busy afternoon, however we didn’t wait too long for the food & drink...! They arrived quickly !! I think this is the best hot chocolate in town!! It has a rich flavour and it is very smooth.. It kept me warm in the cold weather !! Also, this is my first time to try a cheese scone 🧀 ,, The scone was served warm with butter, I love the smell of the cheese 😌 It was very delicious!! Definitely will go again and try the Nutella Hot Chocolate next time.

Horrible customer service. Ordered a cup of tea and scone. Got a tea bag in cold water made 2 trips from table to ask what happened to the scone.

Service is diabolical stood 5 minutes being ignored by 6 members of staff ended up walking out . Gives John lewis a bad name. Either close the place or get staff that want to serve customers

My sister and myself visit Sunday 22nd January. We each had a hot sandwich, scone and hot drink. Food was delicious and plenty of tea on the pot for one person. Would highly recommend and return again

Very bad service .. Tables aren’t cleaned and the staff can’t be bothered you have to empty the table your self to be able to sit . Asked the short lady with the black hair for a glass of water she said the jug is over there next to the counter so you can help your self !!! Very horrible experience but never again

My wife and I ordered a fruit scone, a cheese scone and two americano coffees. Within a few minutes a friendly waitress brought everything except our cheese scone, When we asked about the cheese scone she left our table and the next thing we had a visit from presumably the manager who just said” “ Can I see your receipt” . No small talk, no explanation or apology. Simply looked at the receipt and went back to the counter to get the scone. The scone duly arrived from the manager and we asked why this had happened .At that point we were told they had no record of the cheese scone ( even though it was in the middle of the order), she then said there have been issues with their system and then apologised. It was a most embarrassing experience and one which was witnessed by someone who knew us sitting nearby. To be made to feel we were trying to get a scone without paying was not nice. My advice to all future customers is ALWAYS ask for a receipt to avoid this happening to you. ( I note another reviewer was asked to show their receipt before their situation was resolved, another had problems finding the customers order!!) System failures ?? . Disgraceful customer care

Horrifically slow service - was advised of a 5 minute wait for a hot drink and took almost 25 minutes. Nice coffee but definitely not worth the wait

Ordered a cold drink (from the fridge) and a tea, when we payed, they took the cold drink off of us We had to clear the table, as we would have for any since no one was cleaning 25 minutes after we ordered, we cancelled the order, since they still had made no progress on the order When we tried to get clarity on timings, the manager was rude and tried to guilt us out of cancelling by attempting to gain rapport with the other customers waiting in line. A Pepsi and boiling water + tea bag should not take 25 minutes It’s be easier, faster and cheaper to buy a kettle from John Lewis and find a plug for tea than go here

29 minutes to wait for 2 pots of tea only to be told there appears to be a problem finding the order. If the person serving concentrated on serving as opposed to fiddling about with the tips jar then things would probably be fine. I don't recommend this establishment based on the distinct lack of attention to detail. By the way, the tea did taste substandard which is a concern to say the least.

Visit Ori regularly, and always have a pot of their excellent Breakfast tea and lunch. Yesterday, I was asked for the first time ever, if I wanted a tea bag or Speciality tea. I hate teabags! So I ordered and paid for the Speciality tea....
