TERRIBLE, I ordered from this place and they did not even give me my order and took my money

Ordered for delivery chicken shish kebab and mixed chicken lamb shwarama and received just two chicken shwarama kebabs only, no lamb, and no chicken shish Phoned up to tell them, and the chef basically said I was a liar and he sent the correct items. I took photos, but they wouldn't give me a email to prove the chef lied and so posted the photos here. I think they are scamming people on delivery with cheaper cuts of reformed chicken, hoping the customer won't know the difference.Why else wouldn't they just admit they made a mistake or sent the wrong order, really not fair to make out customer's are lying. AVOID at all costs and go to another restaurant.

A decent size restaurant with ample seating area. The food was good with regards to both taste and quantity. Service was also fast.

Service was ok. Turkish pizza was average. Better places to choose on Nottingham. Maybe I just chose badly today. Would be happy to return to try something else.

Very friendly staff , great atmosphere. We had a selection of delicious starters followed by even more delicious main courses , large portions with plenty of bread and dips. Particularly enjoyed the lamb dishes and aubergines. Very reasonably priced and would highly recommend.

I came here for my birthday they were so sweet and patient with us constantly calling them over. One of the workers (male) was so beautiful, literally made my day💀. But yeah the food was great and great prices aswell. Will be coming here againnn

Bosphorus is a great place to grab dinner in Nottingham. I got the Chicken Yaprak and was amazed at how juicy and tender the chicken was. They also do a very generous portion size. I got the small size and I still had leftovers to eat the next day. High quality food, casual ambiance, and great service. I would definitely come back.

Got the wrong dise, ordered chicken got lamb. Was happy to eat, was promised discount didn't receive. Should keep the promise. Otherwise, it would be a five 5*

The food is good and comparable to other local Turkish resturants, pricing is also competitive, but the atmosphere is dull.

I went to the restaurant looking for kunefe for an end of college party for ESOL students. I had been looking everywhere and finally found it. The lady that served me did an amazing job advising me how to reheat the kunefe and told me the chef had not cooked it all the way so I could finish cooking myself to be served hot the next day. It was delicious and the students were so happy that I managed to find it.

First time here ,past so many times and we've always said it looks good. Well it won't be our last visit that's for sure and I'll reccomend a visit to friends and family . Service was great , really friendly and attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere . We went for the Ali Nazik , chargrilled aubergines topped with yoghurt and tender perfectly seasoned and cooked lamb chunks . So tasty 😋 . It came with a lovely fresh salad and rice . We also had the lamb ribs which were perfectly cooked and seasoned and meaty . There was so much food for the money that we even took some home with us . Can't wait to return ,Thankyou .

We ordered a family take away for 6 persons on the 31/12/22 and the food was freshly prepared with love and taste. Absolutely loads, we were two families of 9 people and we could not finish it all! I’ve travelled the middle east a lot and this tastes like you expect it to be. Thank you

£24 worth of crap food. Ordered lamb chops with mixed rice. Which was plain rice and hard as hell, no sauces and lamb chops were unseasoned and hard, was chewing for ages. It also looked and smelled off like the chops were left out for 2 days. The food made me sick 🤢 putting my pregnancy at risk. Rakki rakkas in Sherwood is so much better for Turkish food. This is trash! I’m so angry I wasted my money on this. I don’t know how people can eat from here.

A Turkish restaurant that serves halal food and offers a nice selection of typical Turkish dishes. The servings were big and satisfactory but the taste was normal. Some of the meat pieces were not tender and some were hard to chew. The place is spacious and has a comfortable seating area.

Terrible service and terrible food. There was nothing that went right here. Chips were brought out twice before we had our starters which we kept returning as they were meant for our mains, yet they kept getting re brought out. When the starters were finally brought out the mains followed.. we said that we were still eating so they must have left the mains on the side to wait as when we then finished the starters ready for the mains they were cold and dry. The food would have been able to make up for it but unfortunately it was terrible . Worst Turkish we’ve ever been to, do not waste your money! The restaurant was empty so we should have taken that as a red flag

We had a starter, main and desert and they were all absolutely delicious! Service was quick and the atmosphere was wonderful as well. We will definitely be returning!

The staff here are so polite and friendly. I ordered to take away and had never been here before. I had questions about portions and sides, and the staff helped me choose. So tasty and fresh for a very reasonable price. Will be eating in next time

Let me start with this, the food is not bad, but is average, too average for a place like this. The meat was weel cooked, but bland. The worst part were the super cold tomato and red pepper so I assume that they been cooked ages before the meat and not fleshy cooked there. The staf is very friendly, a bit rude as they started an argument with the other guys from kitchen next to our table, but they been nice with us.

Amazing food and a lovely space

I picked up dinner a few minutes ago and it is the best. The service was quick and the quality of the food is one of the best. The meat is so tender and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this place.

Don't think I have ever given such a poor review as inevitably things do go wrong with every business from time to time... But after deliveroo messed the delivery up we were promised a fresh food delivery. What we really did get was a dried out,tasteless food delivery, with completely overlooked meat as dry as it could possibly be.

Very busy, and chaotic. Most starters were run out and all floor staff interfered in the kitchen so mains came before starters. Not enough staff so upstairs had less service.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for 2 years now, we’ve tried all the others in Nottingham and this one was the best-up until my last visit. We’ve noticed the quality of the food was lowering and now the amount of meat put on your plate has now decreased only to be replaced with bread! I’m not sure if it’s recently changed ownership but you don’t see the same staff there on any separate occasions? The current staff was more interested in chatting up another new waitress. If the owner- liked we did looked out of the window over to Tipoo and saw just how many guest were in there in comparison to just the two of us in here. Unfortunately we won’t be returning which is a shame.

I visited the restaurant 3 time yesterday. And shop was no doubt very busy. But waiting time for food too long. Once I get the food it was right. Chips was not fresh fried in dirty oil. Also order platter 2 and I could hardly see any doner or lamb shish on it...so upset with that. Spend almost over 35 pounds may be for salad.not going their again

Literally rang to ask for sauces to be put in with my order, he asked what number the order was, I told him the order and he proceeded to ignore me and pretend not to hear me. Then I said "can you hear me?" He replied "no" Then he could hear me all of a sudden... cut to the chase, food came, I never got my sauces with my food. Annoyed, next time I'll go to Rakki Rakkas with better food and better customer service!

I’ve order by Deliveroo, they didn’t send me the full order! I call them and the guy told me to make another order for sending me the chicken wings that I’ve paid for in the previous order, I paid 6.58£ for a F Ayran just to get my chicken wings. I still don’t get my money back and I’m really disappointed, I wouldn’t order never again!

I spent a lot of money on my order and there were missing items in the order which makes the order incomplete. I called the restaurant and they were very blasé about it and rude. I definitely won’t be ordering from here again. Bad service!

Visited with a friend who comes here regularly. A fantastic recommendation. The selection of food was amazing, even as a vegetarian, I left feeling very full and happy. Staff were wonderfully friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great value too. Will definitely return.

I've eaten at Bosphorus twice before under the previous ownership, it was excellent, good food and excellent service, hence 3 visits. Under the new ownership my recent visit was dreadful. Poor quality food and lousy service. They've lost the plot. Won't be going again.

I have to say it was an excellent customer service and very friendly and helpful staff, good quality food. Only reason is that i am not giving it 5 stars is that it is a little pricey. Yet i would definitely recommend .

Been here 3 times, best mixed grill I have ever had. Bread always fresh, meat is very nice and soft. Melts in your mouth. Service is fantastic too.

Brought takeaway today, chips were uncooked, and the mix grill was very bland not like it used to be. Was a regular customer but wont be visiting anymore

Went to Bosphorus yesterday after a long time. Now I know I got a takeaway, but the food wasn't as how I remembered it. The food didn't taste as good as before. Not sure if they've changed owners. I may give it another try in the future as I used to regard it as the best turkish restaurant in the East Midlands...

Staff 9/10 - one of the waitresses thought she was serving lamb shish instead of cop shish. Apart from that all staff were very hospitable. Food 9/10 - Excellent Chef special for both me and my fiancee, we had the chicken and the lamb. Bread was good, Baklava is a must 10/10, Chicken Shish was cooked to perfection. Turkish tea was great and the bill was really reasonable for what we ordered. Will be definitely returning again.

Very bad experience, the worst lamb rips you can ever eat, undercocked food, not testy at all. Bad presentation for the food and everything is mixed in the dishs presented. As a whole this was the first time for us to eat there and definitely it will be the last time.

Really bad food and horrible service . Here is my list : ○ The lamb ribs were only bones with no meat on it .○ Tabbouleh is not related to tabbouleh at all it was horrible.○ Chicken bevti was only bread in some tomato sauce with no chicken . ○The cheese cake literally taste like sand .I would never recommend it for anyone .I would never repeat this experience again.

There is definitely an effort but the overall experience is far from satisfactory... The people working there may not be able to serve under pressure, leading to wrong orders or huge delay. No alcohol is sold here so they suggest you bring your own bottle and drink it there! Overall, I wouldn't go again. There are many other and much better Turkish restaurants in the city.

I booked a table for 12 people for a family meal, we came all the way from Birmingham to eat here. When we arrived there was confusion with regards to seating as the had overbooked. The took up stairs to a table of us, we informed them that we needed 6 more seats as week booked a table for 12. There was a family sat on the table next to ours and the staff interrupted their meal and moved their table so they could add our additional tables, both my family and the other family were forced to help move the tables around in order to take a seat. Following on from this we sat for over half an hour before anybody offered us menus or drinks. We had two waiters one boy who was extremely polite and the other seemed as if She didn’t want to be there. Some of the guests at the mean where asking the female waitress about the dishes as the menus where lacking in information for example it wasn’t clear if the sausage was pork of beef upon asking here there questions she responded with a lot of attitude and shrugged her shoulders in order to answer question. Eventually we order all our food, we waited for over an hour for the food to arrive , the food was extremely over cooked especially the pizzas and the calamari dishes. I ordered lamb ribs these did not arrive to the tableWe complained to the waiters and they advised us that they would speak to their managers and see what they could do. After waiting a further 20 mins to speak to anyone, we asked if we could speak directly to the manager in which they sent the same female waitress back who pretended she was the manager. She apologised for the delays with our food and explained there was only one chef working and they are extremely busy (we was seated in a room upstairs so we couldn’t see how busy it was downstairs) she advised me my food would take 5 more minutes... 20 mins later still no food so I asked the waiters is a can cancel my food or get some kind of compensation for the 2 hour wait and he said he will speak to his manager. Finally my food arrived until over 2 hours later after everyone had finished eating and was ready to leave. The food had no flavour at all and the entire meal was dry and overcooked. I then asked the waiter to get his boss as by this point we Where all extremely unhappy with the service and food and the waiter returned saying his boss is busy but they will remove my food from the bill but they can’t do anything about everyone else’s food. So as we are paying we notice there is a £15 service charge and to our understanding this is not compulsory to pay and due to the poor service and bad food we didn’t one to pay that charge so we asked for the to be removed from the bill. The waiter went and came back with his boss (a completely different person to before claiming to be the manager) he told us we had no choice but to pay these extra chargers , we insisted that these were waved due to our experience in which he then began to become very aggressive raising his voice which scared our kids into crying. He was being extremely rude and saying things about us saying how we didn’t spend a lot of money in the shop and he could have taken another booking instead and they would have paid £200 more and being extremely condescending, we mentioned that we understand the wait because they only had one chef (as we where told by the fake boss earlier) he began to get extensive angry and raise his voice further saying that they have 3 chefs and the other member of staff where lying ( he then persisted to shout as his staff in another language) . This was by far the worst experience I have ever had eating out.

If I could give 0 star I would. I had an issue with an order. The platter for 2 is advertised as coming with a cold mezze selection so I didn’t order items separately. Upon arrival of my order nothing was with it. So when I called up to ask the guy on the phone was so unbelievably rude!! He stated the platter doesn’t come with it but needs to be ordered separately. I said it’s not what it says on the menu. He was like yeh that’s wrong we need to change it. A bit pointless telling me that after ive placed an order and food has arrived. The worst part is the food that arrived too was awful! Meat was dry as hell and tasteless!! Definitely avoid!

I dont leave reviews often and you can see from my history but I had to write it so no one ever comes here... Probably the worst turkish restaurant I have ever visited in my life (I am a native Turkish) ... we waited exactly 45 mins and then I asked where is the order they rushed it in 5-6 mins, the adana kebab was the only ok thing (less than average) but the iskender kebab... I dont know what was the meat, 80% fat and the rest I cant say meat, we also asked for gavurdagi salad and it only had lettuce a couple walnuts and pistachio but resembled nothing not like the real thing(shame they called it gavur dag salad) , we asked for pide and the base layer was really thick and half baked well half dough...and I dont know what was on top of it it should be some mince meat but the color was awfully orange (seriously I dont know what was that!), we couldnt eat anything from iskender probably dogs wont even eat that so bad... we only ate the adana kebab and a little piece of pide but regretted right away, we asked for turkish tea but they were adding water to the kettle from a cleaning bucket or something so horribly looking thing we got disgusted and left right away I will never come here and as a native turkish person this is the worst turkish restaurant I have ever been to... just stay away...

Very disappointed. We waited 35 minutes for our food to arrive even though there were hardly any customers in the Restaurant. We ordered a starter which never turned up. The bread that was served was cold. The main course that I ordered was presented like a Dog's Dinner and the meat did not taste fresh at all. We've been to many Turkish restaurants all over the country but this has to be the worst one ever. Avoid!

Waited far too long over 45 minutes.... had hungry kids with us..appetisers werent sufficient for 6 people... bread was cold... Terrible rice and tiny portions even though ordered large .. Meat was over salted and chewy.. They forgot my long green chilli so had to wait another 25 minutes just for that! My friends order was wrong and chips were too hard! * overpriced.. Not as good as it used to be I am sad to say.

The meat was over salted and chewy and the sorry excuse for the freezing cold tiny portion of rice which looked it was scraped from the bottom of a pan after 2 days was disgusting..and they forgot my long green chilli.... Waited another 25 minutes for one chilli... chicken was lovely but the chips were rock solid. The bread was not even warm and the dips were tiny.. Not enough for 5 people. Been going there years but that's the 3rd terrible meal we have had... very disappointing..

The food presentation and taste was really poorWe got our main course before the starters!!The waiter seems to be a trainee and she was very polite but know nothing about the restaurant.The resturant was not busy at all to explain the lousy food presentation The wash rooms was dirty as well.Sure I’ll not come back again and I don’t recommend it.

Bad service, bad food, never again.

Visited the restaurant on a recommendation, food was half hour late as my order went missing the only realised when I pointed this out to them, 2 or my 4 lamb chops were undercooked they were eventually replaced when I asked the waiter and pointed this out initially he said he couldn’t do anything as I had eaten 2. I asked for a discount due to the food being late and undercooked and it was declined. Wouldn’t go here again.

The side salads to my cop shish was fresh and crunchy, and an interesting mix of flavours. My daughter loved her vegetarian moussaka. Staff were friendly and very apologetic when they realised they had run out of dolmi.Not rushed: we spent a couple of hours there.

To be honest disappointed I have been here before and it was great. What happened?? The quality has gone down.The service was really poor the meat wasn't cooked properly my wife had some raw chicken pieces. My son and I had mix kebabs it wasn't the same portion as we had it before beside the meat was cold! Deseret another DISASTER baklava not fresh! the ice cream was in the middle frozen and Caramel on the baklava WHY ? ? ,I strongly dislike caramel the waitress should have informed me. My son and wife had Kunefe and guess what it was Burned and very late.Sorry Bosphoros but you have gone down alot.

We have tried lots of Turkish restaurants and there are a few on the same road however in our opinion Bosphorus wins best food and service prices are very reasonable for the quality of food perhaps the closest taste to traditional Turkish food you will find its now our regular having tried the others but not as good.

WOW! This place was an amazing find for fantastic Turkish lunch. A lady by the name of Fula was excellent in helping us select the right starters, mains plus Turkish coffees. She is a great asset to the restaurant as her ways within service are second to none. A place you must go to eat. You won't be let down. Well done Bosphorus. See you again soon.
