I was thinking of coming here for ages for an English breakfast. I was gonna come with my mate from Finland but I got COVID. When I walked in the woman behind the counter was pretty rude. She seemed to have banter with everyone else. It was pretty cheap. £8 for a full English. When they brought the food it was a good plate of food. I asked for English mustard and was brought American mustard. I tried to use the knife but it was like some sort of trick knife. The fork would bend with a bit of pressure. Picture attached. The food was pretty poor. The sausages were pretty nasty. I wouldn't usually review a greasy spoon but there are limits. The cutlery was the deciding piece. A pretty unpleasant experience for a Saturday morning.

Excellent traditional British cafe in the Grainger Market, very reasonably priced and our breakfasts were very good. My husband had a full English breakfast and I had a toasted tea cake, one of the nicest I’ve tasted, wholemeal and spiced. The staff were friendly and helpful, everything was clean and tidy, it was a pleasure to sit inside to enjoy our breakfasts. Cracking cups of tea too.

We happened to be in the market at lunchtime so decided to eat here. It was quite cramped inside but once you sat down it was ok. I had a cheese & pickle sandwich and my husband had a christmas sandwich. He mentioned to the waiter that it was missing the pigs in blankets (as per the menu) but he just looked at us confused and said 'pigs in blankets?' and went. Never did get them. Cheap and cheerful food. Seemed very popular.

Popped by this popular cafe when visiting Grainger Market. Ordered a sweet chilli chicken panini with chips, a tea & a choc caramel shortbread slice. The choc caramel shortbread was really nice & great washed down with the cup of hot tea. The panini didn't look like a panini when it arrived, but there was a decent amount of chicken & it was made fresh & was piping hot. It was served with some tortilla crisps, salad & coleslaw. The extra chips at £1 was a tad sad & some were lukewarm & soggy. Some of the other meals we saw looked hearty & piping hot so perhaps we picked the 'wrong' thing to have!

Found this place by accident when walking round Grainger Market and was glad I did. Really friendly staff, great Geordie breakfast and really good value for money.

Every time I’m up in Newcastle I pay a visit here for the mince pie and chips. It’s a cafe staple but here they do it very very well. Pleasant atmosphere and lovely staff.

Volveré esta semana y he recomendado

A place to call just for a drink or a lunchtime meal. It has quite an array of the usual choices, cooked to order. Its clean and cleared at regular intervals. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are decent.

¡No!

We call in here for late lunch today: my wife has soup with a roll, and I have the home made pie with vegetables. We place our order with the friendly lady at the counter and then take a seat. This café is quite basic with two rows of identical tables and chairs without adornment or decoration, and the tables not carefully wiped. However the soup arrives at the table with a very large roll, and my pie with vegetables is delicious. A little creativity could improve this café.

No matter where I travel in the world I want a real holiday . To me a holiday is only superficial if I don`t meet the people of a city . Otherwise I am just a another tourist locked away on the perimeter of real everyday life . This cafe / diner gave me a chance to do just that . I dropped in casually and received at once a warm Newcastle " Geordie " welcome and soaked up something not on the menu . An embracing friendly atmosphere too good to describe . Old guys were dropping in for their daily coffee being hugged and greeted , laughing and joking with the staff . The food was homemade . It had an extensive menu , great taste , hot and at very reasonable prices . I came out satisfied and literally happy because I had gone in and soaked up a good gulp of family-friendliness

Beautiful large traybakes, huge and very scrumptious, which I got boxed and took home. Beautiful architecture and atmosphere in this old church. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Definitely will be back to sit in and try the all day breakfast menu.

This is such a gorgeous idea, in a stunning city and a beautiful location. The lady that looked after us was brilliant and she informed us on all the beautiful rescues there. Treats were provided by CatPawCino and one is able to order coffees, drinks and toasties. I had cheese and tomato and it was lovely. Highly recommend and cannot wait to go back.
