Lovely coffee and cake. Dog friendly inside and out. The cafe was very busy as it was a Sunday but the staff were still lovely and friendly. Also I really like how all the wrapping and utensils are recyclable

We have been here a number of times and always enjoyed it. However, today although we arrived at 2.30 they had run out of hot food and sandwiches and could only have toasted teacake, which were in brown flour and a little heavy. Then one of the girls started cleaning the tables and proceeded to put chairs on tables all around us, and then fetched a brush and started to clean the floor. There was another family eating inside at the time and the chairs from one table almost fell on one lady. We were not impressed and left as soon as we could. Very disappointing as we had so looked forward to our lunch. We are elderly and I am in a wheelchair so that was doubly disapppinting as we hadnt time to go anywhere else. Will be awhile before we go again.

Great restaurant and location. I had the pain aux raisin which are the best I’ve ever had. The coffee was nice too but served in glasses without handles

Stopped here on our bike ride for lunch on a weekday. Very popular place, but we managed to get a table inside to eat on a very cold day. Good selection of sandwiches here and good to see I could have gluten free bread too. Can highly recommend the Olivia’s breakfast bun with sausage, bacon, cheese and a tomato based sauce (sorry no pic taken). Lovely service and lovely atmosphere inside.

Great food, great service, coffee was lovely, we got two dog sausages for our dogs and it came all chopped up in a cute cup for each one, perfect! Will definitely come back here again. Bacon sandwich was also delicious. Staff were lovely and had happy music playing. We were there as soon as they opened on Saturday morning. Was just great after a sunrise walk through the woods 😁😁

The service was offhand and the food and coffee were average. It's the second time I have been there, and I don't think I will be going again.

However service definitely needs improvement A massive muffin shouldn't be served in coffee cup! Her response was that they don’t serve on a plate if you are sitting in the courtyard as we were off the premises At the end she involuntarily brought a take away box to eat My friend’s egg on toast was a different matter!

Not very friendly staff and very small portions of ice cream despite the robust price! I so want this cafe to succeed as it’s so well-situated but the staff need to raise their game for me to enjoy going there.

Awful. What a rude, abrupt young lady the girl that served us. No customer service or manners at all. Ordered food and no problem. I had vegan tomato soup with triple toastie. It was nothing more than a watery cup a soup sandwich was nice but not a triple as stated. Wrong order came to table so son took it back to counter. He tried to explain but was told ‘wait I’m serving’! He left the food at counter and walked off. A customer came to our table i search of her food and we told it was taken back. It was still at counter! I will not be back but. Not because of the food but, the lack of a friendly face or smile. Very disappointed.

Nearly didn't go to Olivia's today due to the previous poor reviews on Trip Adviser. Had a lovely walk round, used the adequate public toilets and had lunch at Olivia's. I could not fault the food and service. Had the vegan sandwich but with non vegan cheese which they were happy to swop. Choice of breads, super filling and a coffee too which was also good. I would highly recommend this place.

Dog Friendly with dog treats on the counter and water bowls if you ask. Warm. Cosy. Comfortable. Selection of seating areas, ranging from comfy sofas to padded chairs, to traditional table and chairs, bench seating for groups. Welcoming. Cashless service. Good selection of food & drinks. The cakes are absolutely huge, seeing is believing. Reasonably priced. Table service. Toilet facilities. Good parking & plenty of space (£1 all day) I sometimes come here just for a lovely cup of tea, without even coming for a walk in the woods. Easily accessible for pushchairs. Possibly wheelchairs, but not if it's rained because it becomes quite boggy underfoot from the carpark to the door of the cafe. Outdoor seating. Play area at the side. Really lovely service with very friendly and helpful staff. Recommend a visit if you're in the area and want something away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

Lovely cafe, happy and courteous staff but why oh why is the bread an inch thick? You can hardly taste what's inside it and look around at the left overs! No one eats bread that thick. A cheese toastie should taste of cheese. Tomato soup? I'm 65 and never really had a bad tomato soup until today. The nearest thing to what I left was the water from tinned tomatoes. No substance at all. You managed to murder tomato soup! Amazing. Please shake it up a bit as location, staff and cafe itself are great - just the food that let's you down.

Nice spot and a great cabin environment. Cheap parking (£1) with plenty of space. Good selection of cakes and snacks which are reasonably priced. Coffee is great. Outside seating is fab but inside the tables aren’t cleared, it’s cramped & needs a good clean. Disappointed with the lack of friendliness from the staff member serving, the chap taking my order was blunt and disengaged from his customers. Manners don’t cost anything and if used an establishment will definitely get return custom.

This is a good cafe for refreshments after walking in the Outwoods. Good car park with parking for just £1 and well located. I enjoyed the information boards about the geology of Charnwood Forest.

The Olivia’s cafe at the Outwoods is well located close to nearby walks and a kids play area - it’s a temptation to stop in when passing. Unfortunately, in our family Olivia’s is known for its ridiculously slow service and long wait times - this even the case when there is seemingly no queue. On our most recent visit on a quiet mid-morning we ordered four hot takeaway drinks on arrival, only then to be told it would be a twenty minute wait. We decided to go for our walk first and return later when they had worked through their backlog. Reordering an hour later I checked first and was assured drinks ‘would be quick’, yet still we were waiting for at least a quarter of an hour (missing the kids playing outside) for something which is most cafes you can get in less than a couple of minutes. The food looks good, and the cakes are nice; but the drinks are nothing special, and we always leave frustrated whenever we are foolish enough to chance it.
