Truly excellent cream teas, and the staff are lovely. They display art by local artists too, and we bought a painting to take home as a reminder of our holiday.

Well worth a visit, small cafe, lovely homemade soup, scones etc. Up steps so not very accessible but would be fine in summer as tables outside. Toilet for customer use. A good range of decent coffee options. Actually use a proper teapot which looked lovely. Soup arrived with fresh bread and butter and the offer of more if needed, you didn't! Very filling, recommend the leek and potato. Didn't spot any highchairs but limited space quite snug. Local art work for sale on the walks. Very friendly staff.

Come to Cornwall and they’re serving cream teas with scones left right and centre, but not being a lover of tea or coffees and not wanting to miss out, I was very excited to discover this little gem of a place serving scones cream teas but with a Prosecco option! What’s more, they had a blueberry scone options and my god, what a treat it was! Crisp chilled Prosecco (small bottle, so about a glass and a half) served with a strawberry on the side of the glass, warm fresh blueberry scone with jam and cream….heaven with every bite!

What has happened to 'Olives's? While the food was as nice as ever, we wished we'd eaten outside because the 'pumping music' inside made us want to eat up and leave as soon as possible. Perhaps that was the intention! On our many previous visits, including to attend the Indian evenings, this was a place to have something to eat in peace and quiet, so we won't be coming again. Also, the lady with the glasses was officious to the point of being rude which made for a tense atmosphere - and, despite the pandemic, there's no excuse as the other member of staff, with a completely different attitude, was doing her best to make us feel welcome and happy! And to think that we've always recommended this venue to others ...!And, if you 'must' have music, which I think is unnecessary, especially in such a small place, turn it down!!!

Absolutely delicious cream tea - and so fresh that the lovely lady running the cafe had to close her doors for 20 minutes to bake more scones!! Really helpful and friendly staff, lovely setting slightly away from the busiest part of St Ives and with outdoor seating too

We visited as a family of 5. We all choose the cream teas with a mixture of scones which I have to say they were delicious! However I was unimpressed with having to drink tea out of takeaway cardboard cups and the waitress said this was because we where sat outside? Although we got a teapot etc but couldn’t have cups & saucers. This was disappointing as tea just doesn’t taste the same out of cardboard! We wasn’t asked for our name or phone number which I thought was maybe because we were sat outside but the guy who served us was very quick to point out we needed masks on just to stand by the door to order. He was rather rude and made us feel we were in the way by trying to spend money with them. As you are only a small cafe maybe taking orders from tables would be easier than people trying to stand in the door way when the waitress is trying to get out as no social distancing was being adhered to. Nice place but I wouldn’t rush back.

Went for a cream tea for my teenage daughter and a gluten free cake and prosecco for me. Came to £14 which is expensive for what you get, but it is St Ives where I have seen another cafe charge £10 for toast! The lemon cake was light and fluffy with a Sharpe lemon taste that complimented the prosecco beautifully. The blueberry scone was slightly doughy not sure it was fully baked but it was light. The thing that let's this place down is a lack of toilets. I did not know this was allowed?Hw, I would definitely recommend if you are after a treat

Tucked away in a quaint back street, this place is a firm favourite with our family. The food is amazing particularly the Scones, also delicious quiche. The staff are all lovely and happy to chat - we were very pleased to see these guys still open and thriving in these difficult times.

Arrived in Cornwall for the August Bank Holiday Weekend, Olives had been recommended by a colleague, we got off the train and made our way to this quaint little cafe.. what an amazing place, the gentleman making the scones and the lovely waitress were so very polite and welcoming. We had one of the best blueberry & fruit scones, they were amazing.. if you do go to St Ives this place is a definite to go.

Always enjoyed it here in the past out of peak season, so this week I took guests who were visiting the area. Sadly, rude unfriendly waitress, coffee/tea/hot chocolate which would have been a disappointment coming out of a cheap drinks dispenser, served in paper cups at a price which raised eyebrows. We left without finishing our drinks and are unlikely to return in a hurry. What has gone so wrong? It may be high season, but ripping off the tourists doesn't create a good impression and some of us are local.

We’ve been going to Olives for years but on this occasion found the ‘lady’ serving to be very rude. I understand things are difficult at the moment but a bit of courtesy wouldn’t go amiss. To be ordered, not asked, to write down your name and telephone number without explanation is rude and then to have a card terminal pushed in your face while still drinking your tea and told to pay your bill is just unacceptable. It’s a shame we wont be returning as the scones were lovely. Brush up on your people skills!

This is a small, quaint tea shop which we stumbled across near the Porthgwidden Beach area. We read the reviews and wanted to see if it really was the best place for the Cornish Cream Tea you have to have while in St Ives. The cream tea was absolutely superb. Warm huge scone with gorgeous strawberry jam and cream. My tea was also spot on. And it was so cheap! £11 for two! Just amazing value for money. The tea room was scrupulously clean too and the service so efficient. Strict COVID regulations re face masks etc so it felt so safe. Would thoroughly recommend for cream teas- thank you so much. Loved it

Hidden just behind the main harbour. Really nice little hidden cafe. We had the blueberry scones which were so so good, able to sit with dogs outside.

After wandering around the busy streets we decided to go into the back roads where we stumbled across the cafe. All the staff were super friendly and made us feel like locals! I had the quiche which was utterly delicious and made fresh that morning. My partner had the cheese and onion pasty and he said it was delicious too. We then couldn’t resist the freshly baked scones that had just come out of the oven... they did not disappoint! We were so pleased with our visit and should we ever return to St Ives we wouldn’t hesitate to go back!
